Yo!

Again it has been a while, but at this point, you all are probably used to my sporadic schedule when it comes to updates. Maybe one day I will fix it, though I very much doubt it. Maybe if I had only one active story I could keep uploading chapters every week or two. Unfortunately, when you combine 3 active stories, studies, and other IRL shit, it is really hard to focus on writing.

Anyway thank you all for reading my story till now and I hope you will stick for longer. Also remember if you have any questions, requests or just want to talk, don't fear to PM me or join my discord. The link will be below.

With that said I leave you with the new chapter.

Enjoy.

Chapter 20. Schemes of men

"Sea of Death" they began to call it. A very ironic name in Harry's opinion, especially when you take Dothraki's fear of the seas into consideration. He was pretty sure that Sirius had some influence over the naming... Just another reason why Harry wanted to punch his godfather straight in the face.

"Can't blame you," Ralnor's voice resounded through Harry's mind, "How unoriginal you need to be to come up with something like Sea of Death. Like, it doesn't even sound that good. I bet you a child could think of something better."

Harry's eyebrow rose at the unimpressed tone of his companion's voice, Yeah? So are you telling me that you can come up with something better? Come on then, let's hear it.

"Of course I can, just give me a minute," Came Ralnor's hasty reply.

Harry shrugged and again cast his gaze at the field before him. Piles of bodies half-eaten by the earth. Trees of stone growing in every direction spearing people with their branches. And the dried blood that covered most of the area.

Tragic.

That was the only word that people who didn't know what happened here could use for the sight before them. And for those who knew? Well, they could either believe that the world was changing or deny everything they saw. Harry hoped for the former, it would definitely make the comeback of magic to those parts of Essos easier.

Shaking his head, Harry averted his gaze from the battlefield that caused the death of hundreds of men by his hand. The wizard didn't regret what he had done, but it still wasn't easy to accept what happened there yesterday. Sirius already warned him that it took some time to get used to the aftermath of battles at this scale and Harry didn't really believe him. After all, as an Auror, Harry fought in dozens of skirmishes so it should have prepared him at least a bit.

Now he knew better... It seemed that Harry was wrong and Sirius really got smarter after arriving in this messed up world.

So what about those names? I am sure that a lot more than a minute had already passed, Harry called out to the ancient sorcerer, taking a quick escape from his morbid thoughts.

A fake cough reverberated through his mind, "W-well, what do you think about Forest of Stone?"

Harry paused in his movements like struck, Really? Was that all you could think of? Please and just a few minutes ago you were complaining about how a child could make a better name. Tell me you got something that won't give me a headache.

"Field of Magic?" Ralnor replied after a moment, "Or maybe Stone Graveyard. Yeah, that sounds nice."

A loud slap echoed through the empty field as Harry's palm found his face, "No, just no. Those are even worse than Sea of Death, and trust me that's a hard bar to beat. You just did it in a few minutes so let us forget about this conversation," he said before adding in a murmur, "Really, at this point, I would rather have Sirius do the naming..."

Ralnor materialized next to Harry with a glare already pointed at his companion, "Fuck you."

Harry rolled his eyes, "Sorry not interested," before Ralnor could try to retort, the wizard quickly added, "Anyway, what do you think we should do?"

Caught off guard, Ralnor furrowed his brows at the question, "What do you mean?"

"The so-called Sea of Death," Harry replied nodding towards the battlefield, "Think we should destroy it? It might be a nice warning for the enemies of the city, but apart from that, it is just what you called it, a graveyard. And a very messy at that."

"I don't really know, besides I doubt that this decision belongs to us. We might have created it, but maybe Sirius has some plans for this. Who knows, the man is a lot more cunning than what I expected from your stories."

Harry snorted, "Trust me, you aren't the only one surprised. Sirius was always just as reckless and brash as I was in my school days, so this world really must have changed him. Well mostly, after all, no one of a healthy mind would try what Sirius is planning... And yeah, you are probably right, I should talk about the destruction of this place with him before deciding anything."

"Good," Ralnor nodded before he disintegrated into particles of light and returned to his place at Harry's side, "You should probably head back. It's getting late and you still have to meet with Sirius to discuss the Magister council."

A groan left Harry's lips as he remembered what Sirius made him attend. There would be revenge coming in the future, of that Harry was sure. There was no way the wizard would let anyone get away with dragging him into politics.

"Stop moping and just go," Ralnor's almost sing-song voice called out and Harry just wished to have the ability to bring his partner out in the real world and deck him in the face.

Huh, ever since I came to Myr, I almost always want to punch someone... I really have problems, the young Blackfyre thought as he trudged towards the horse that brought him to this place.

"There you are," a voice called out as Harry dropped down from his horse and led it towards the stable keeper.

Turning around Harry's eyebrows shot to his hairline when he noticed the jogging form of Maran. The old man's breaths were coming out very quickly and Harry had to wonder what the hell did Maran do to get so exhausted.

"Maran? What are you doing here?"

The glare Harry received in return only managed to fuel his confusion. From what he remembered, he didn't do anything that could anger his oldest friend in this world, Any ideas Ralnor? A mental shrug was all he received, Thanks for the assistance, Harry scowled back.

"What am I doing here, he asks!" Maran growled out when he finally reached Harry, "I was searching for you the entire day you idiot, and trust me it wasn't easy with those old bones! I talked to Magister Black and asked him where did you go, then went to some Captain that apparently saw you today. He in return told me to go to the main gate where some soldiers noticed you heading outside the city. And then when after hours of walking I finally got there, they informed me that you were already back and went to the stables. The whole day wasted!"

If Maran thought that his rant would make Harry understand then he was very wrong, "But why were you even searching for me?"

Harry watched as his old friend barely stopped himself from screaming and began to take a few calming breaths. Finally, when Maran didn't look like he would tear Harry's head off, he spoke, "Yesterday you ran off with Magister Black and a few hours later I heard that a sorcerer demolished the Dothraki Khalassar. To make it even better you didn't come back to the shop to explain what in the name of all gods happened like you promised yesterday. I only heard a summarized version from Magister Black when he came to make me a business offer. So please explain as currently I'm more confused than when a child showed up in my shop in Asshai alone."

"Ahh," Harry exclaimed when he finally understood what the old man meant, "I apologize for leaving you uninformed, the aftermath of the battle affected me more than I would like to admit."

Maran sighed, "It's fine, I just get moody when I'm tired. So now tell me what is happening before I give Magister Black an answer regarding his offer."

Harry nodded, "I will. Just give me a moment," he murmured and reached inside one of the small pouches that were attached to his belt. Struggling to find the right thing, he finally took out a small obsidian stone engraved with various runes.

Channeling a bit of magic to activate the runes, Harry smiled when a transparent dome appeared around the duo before fading out like it was never there.

Turning to his old friend, Hary instantly began to explain when he noticed the frown on Maran's face, "Privacy ward. Nothing outside the dome will be able to understand what we are saying. Honestly, I'm surprised that I didn't think of creating it earlier. It is definitely useful..."

"I can see that," Maran whispered, his eyes finally ungluing from the obsidian stone, "Now the story."

Harry sighed at the thought of recounting Sirius' crazy plans and the events of yesterday's battle. Still, he steeled himself and began talking as they walked through Myr towards Sirius' residence.

Maran remained silent throughout the whole story and Harry was thankful for that. He really didn't want to explain the reasons for Sirius' plans for the Disputed Lands. Hell, he didn't even want to talk about what happened during the battle.

As the explanation came to an end, Maran ran a hand through his gray hair and said in a tired voice, "You really got a weird family Harry. I understand taking over Myr as it shouldn't even be too hard, but the Disputed Lands? Many men tried that and they always failed, one way or another."

Harry chuckled lightly, "I told him the exact same thing when he informed me of his plans. I tried to convince him to drop this crazy idea, but he wouldn't budge."

"And you plan to help him? To throw your life into this madness?"

Harry could understand Maran's skepticism as even now he doubted the success of Sirius' plans to conquer the Disputed Lands. In the end, Harry didn't plan to back down now, not when his only family's life was at the stake.

"He is family Maran. The only one I have left," Harry tried to explain, "I lost him once, but now I have the chance to maybe save him during his suicide mission."

Maran frowned, "I get that he is your 'family', but it doesn't change the fact that I can't understand why you want to follow a man that left you without a goodbye and good reason. If he was a good family friend then I would at least expect that much."

"He got you there," Like always, Ralnor was quick to point out, "Your previous story is now biting you in the ass."

I know, Harry thought with a sigh. There was only one way of fixing that mistake and Harry really didn't want to have that sort of conversation right now. And so he decided to settle on the next best thing.

"I might have lied about him leaving like that. It is a lot more complicated than that. And though I'm not against you telling you the real reason, I would rather save this subject for another day," There, he couldn't say it better, at least in Harry's humble opinion.

"That would explain it," Maran relented, "Also if you don't want to talk about it, then that's fine with me. I was just confused, that's all, especially after all the plans you just revealed to me."

Harry laughed lightly, "I can understand that, but don't worry I will tell you the truth soon. You were always a good friend to me and if you really get involved in any business with Sirius, you should probably know why I am willing to follow his plans. Speaking of, what is the offer Sirius gave you?"

"He wants to use my talent for runes," Maran informed, his brows slightly furrowed, "It seems that he is as knowledgeable in magic as you and I, but you probably already know that eh?"

Harry shrugged, "As I said, our history is a lot more complicated than you think... He told you why he wants to use your knowledge of the runes?"

"Aye he did," Maran nodded, "Apparently he saw some of the things I had in my shop and was curious if I would be interested in creating armor and weapons for some of his soldiers. Or rather engraving runes on the specially crafted equipment."

That little bit of information probably shouldn't have surprised Harry and yet it did. Sirius was really taking every opportunity he could to make his plans a reality. A whole well-trained squad equipped with a gear engraved with strengthening and protective runes could really change the tides of a battle. Especially in a world that lacked any advanced technology or many magicians.

As such Harry knew he would rather have Maran work with Sirius, but in the end, it was the old man's decision. If he wanted to involve himself in a war that could lead them all to death then Harry couldn't stop him.

"It is a good plan from Sirius' side," Harry confirmed, "But you need to decide if you want to get involved in this whole madness."

Maran chuckled, "It is never easy with you lad hmm? You always manage to get dragged into the weirdest situations and now I can't even complain about what I'm about to do."

Letting out a chuckle too, Harry decided to get the confirmation, "So you plan to accept the offer?"

Smiling, Maran nodded, "Indeed. I plan to stay here either way to see what interesting events will happen around you this time. Might as well lend a hand and help you all survive. I might be old, but your tales of adventures managed to ignite my need for some excitement in my life. At least as long as it doesn't involve me getting kidnapped again by those red fuckers."

"That's good to know and trust me you will definitely see a fair amount of weird shit if you follow me and Sirius," Harry added laughing, before sobering quickly, "Also I was wondering if you could tell me how the public reacted to the appearance of a sorcerer. I was pretty out of it yesterday and most of today so I had no time to find out on my own."

A long sigh made Harry turn to his old friend, "The reactions vary a lot," Maran admitted, "Some people think you are a gift from the gods that came to defend the City from all that's evil, while others are of the opinion that you will only bring death to Myr with your magic."

Harry couldn't stop the instinctive wince and Maran, probably seeing the reaction of his friend, was quick to add, "Don't worry lad, those are just the maniacal ends of the spectrum. From what I heard from some conversations here and there, most people are thankful for what you have done and will probably support you as long as you don't mess up their lives. Of course, there are those that are indifferent or silently dislike you, but that's understandable. Not everyone will accept you from the start."

"Don't I know it," Harry murmured bitterly.

"Ah don't be so down lad," Maran exclaimed clapping Harry on the back, "It could always be worse. You could have destroyed another building just like you did in Qarth."

In spite of himself, Harry couldn't help the snort that escaped his mouth. Leave it to Maran to remind him of the most stupid action Harry ever did in this world.

Swatting Maran's hand away, Harry snarked back, "Very funny... At least I didn't get kidnapped by a bunch of maniacal, what did you call them, ah yes, Red fuckers."

Striding forward before the old man could reply, Harry smirked as Maran tried to keep up. That's what you get for bringing up Qarth.

"Do I really need to do this?" Harry almost whined as he and Sirius waited just outside the building where Magister council's meetings were always held. Harry tried to convince his godfather that his presence wouldn't be unnecessary, but Sirius wouldn't budge. At least the Magister promised Harry that he wouldn't need to do much.

And so, after yesterday's long discussion on how to go about this meeting, they finally came up with a pretty simple plan that only required Harry to be there as a form of intimidation. Well, maybe he would have to say a thing or two if required, but that much Harry could stomach.

A quiet chuckle answered Harry's plea, "You're not getting out of this Harry. You wanted to help me so now take the responsibility, besides trust me it will be fun. Just think of their faces when they see what's under the hood!"

Harry, wearing his black cloak that obscured most of his body, sighed heavily, "I think Sirius that we have a very different definition of fun. No Wizengamot meeting, no council meeting, or hell any political meeting can be fun. They are tedious and annoying."

Sirius waved him off with a grin, "Ah you are overreacting like always. Now be quiet, they are here," Sirius whispered with motion towards the group consisting of guards and some fancy clothed people entering the building.

Nodding, Harry made sure that his hood hid his face perfectly and followed Sirius towards the entrance of the small structure. They had to pass through a short hallway where some guards confirmed Sirius' identity and took away all of their weapons, not that they had any.

Harry thought this entire process unnecessary because if someone wanted to kill the Magisters inside they just had to bribe the guards or sneak in through the windows Harry noticed on their way in. Oh well, who was he to judge their security? Besides, Harry only cared about Sirius here and he was pretty sure that between Ralnor, Sirius, and him, they could defend themselves from most things.

Well, poisons were something Harry definitely had the least defense against... Something to definitely fix in the near future as the risk of running into a poison just rose significantly with Harry's entrance into politics. Especially when you were in a medieval-like world.

Shaking his head, Harry watched from the corner as the three Magisters he never met before and Sirius took a seat around the round table. Surprisingly the three magisters didn't look too special. Yeah, they had their fancy clothes and were healthier than ninety percent of Myr, but apart from that they just appeared like normal people.

I think that my bias is finally showing up, Harry thought with a wince. He didn't want to be the person who judges others by their looks or titles. He met enough people like that during his life and Harry always disliked them. Turning into something similar wasn't on Harry's list of things to do.

Before Harry could go deeper into his thoughts, Sirius spread his hands and exclaimed, "Welcome to another council of Magisters of Myr. I hope you are all well."

I'm pretty sure, that's not how you start a formal meeting, Harry thought, rolling his eyes. Sirius' flair for theatrics was really an acquired taste, which Harry always found endearing and annoying at the same time.

Clearing his throat, a plumb, graying man to Sirius' right, replied, "Likewise, Magister Black. I think we all know the reason for this emergency meeting, but I would like to hear it from those who called it," he finished nodding towards the other two magisters.

Harry meanwhile smiled a bit. So this was the only Magister that Sirius could stand. Thoreo Essohr, currently the oldest Magister of the council and supposed friend of Sirius' mentor. From what Harry's godfather told him, the man controlled a fair amount of trade in Myr and a small legion of soldiers. He definitely enjoyed his comfortable life and Harry hoped that Sirius' offer for the man wouldn't make him their enemy.

We will find out in a few minutes.

"I and Magister Ormah wanted to hear what exactly happened when the Dothraki attacked two days ago. Magister Black, you led the defense with your army, so please if you could," Oh wow, now Harry knew what Sirius meant when he said that two of the Magisters disliked him. The spite when the tall and quite muscular man uttered the word "your" proved that much.

Magister Arys Ormah and Sallyrio Bahoris, from Sirius' short description of the two men, Harry found out that together they controlled the entire production of Myrish Glass and most of the brothels of the city. Those two things were almost enough to rival Sirius' power after he removed six other Magisters. Truly powerful duo in terms of money and influence.

"Of course Magister Bahoris," Sirius replied with a smile. He began recounting the battle exactly how it happened, he didn't miss any details. From Harry's spot, he could only watch as Sirius' grin grew wider and wider as he talked about the sorcerer massacring the forces of Dothraki. Well, he isn't grinning because of the massacre, Harry quickly corrected himself when he took a peek at the other Magisters.

Besides some widened eyes, Magister Essohr didn't give any further reactions, but the other two, that was where the fun began. Both Magister Bahoris and Ormah — another plump man that was maybe around Sirius' age — paled considerably during Sirius' tale and their hands were gripping either the table or their clothes pretty tightly.

Huh, maybe Sirius was right, this is pretty amusing.

Or at least it would have been if it wasn't for the fact that as soon as Sirius finished recounting the events, Magister Ormah's eyes immediately centered on Harry.

"I-I take it that this is the Sorcerer," The plump man's voice came out with a slight stutter, but his gaze remained locked with Harry's body. The wizard wanted to curse his misfortune even when both he and Sirius knew this would happen.

"Indeed," Sirius nodded, "Vidar please step forward and remove your hood."

Harry or Vidar, as they decided to call his official sorcerer persona, approached the table and slowly removed his hood. Instead of the short, snow-white hair, ebony locks came falling down to his shoulders. His new shining violet eyes once again became like two emeralds he received from Lily Potter. The last change affected Harry's face. The slightly rougher features he received from his Westerosii father became much softer, much more like one would expect from those of pure Valyrian descent.

All in all, he looked like a mix of the old Harry, a pure Valyrian and Sirius at the same time. It wasn't easy to achieve such an advanced glamor, but with Maran's help, Harry managed to create a necklace that would hold the spell for him. It definitely was one of the most advanced creations Harry and Maran made, and it saved a lot of time and power that glamours would normally require.

The Magisters didn't give any outright reaction to Harry's appearance apart from stealing a few glances and him and Sirius. Probably to try and find any signs of their relation.

Just like we planned, Harry smirked.

"You could say that Vidar is the son of a dear friend of mine. I lost contact with them during my travels. Thankfully, Vidar here managed to catch some rumors that spoke of my position in Myr and decided to travel here to investigate. The rest I'm pretty sure you can figure out on your own," Sirius explained merrily.

The muscular Magister dressed in blue robes of the finest quality, gritted out, "So now you have a sorcerer under your control too? And where did a boy this young learn magic so powerful? Not even the stories we hear about Valyrian dragon masters speak of such power."

Harry really wanted to roll his eyes at that. He really doubted that Valyrians of old couldn't perform similar acts with their magic, especially with dragons by their sides. Hell, even the shadow and fire mages in Asshai could do some incredible things and Harry never saw their full capabilities. Well, apart from the shadow binder that attacked him on his way to Stygai, and even then the wizard's ability was pretty powerful.

Sighing, Harry cleared his head and returned his focus to Sirius who just began to speak.

"I hold no power over him. Vidar could leave me any moment and I wouldn't be able to do a thing to stop him. That he sometimes follows my orders is just a sign that he agrees with my goals," Sirius was really laying it on thick here, at least in Harry's opinion. To make it worse his godfather grinned at him and added, "As to your other question? Well, Vidar, maybe you want to tell those fine men how you learned the art of sorcery."

No, I don't, Harry almost scowled before letting out a quick sigh and speaking up, "Magic is a gift that ran in my family for a very long time. I learned how to control it from many different masters of magic. What happened two days ago was the result of their teachings and years of hard work."

Hah, there you go. How to tell a lie without lying. And it indeed was just that. After all, the Potter family was an old family of magicals, and Harry was taught by masters of magic at Hogwarts. Of course, they didn't really teach him that much, but no one needed to know that small fact. Overall Harry could only cross his hands and smile at the Magisters that probably hoped to learn more about his abilities. Too bad for them.

"There you have it," Sirius exclaimed, "Any more questions, or can I go forward with my own business for this council?"

The oldest of the Magisters, Thoreo Essohr raised his hand a bit to take the offer, "Just one Magister Black. Previously you mentioned that your Sorcerer agrees with your goals. I would like to think that you had made them pretty obvious in the last few years, but please correct me if I'm wrong."

Sirius smiled once again — Where did he get so much positivity? Harry had no clue —, and nodded, "Of course you are right Magister Essohr. I never tried to hide my desire to rule Myr and that's indeed my goal. This City needs to change. For centuries Myr was one of the Free Cities that just existed but never raised above others as Braavos or Volantis did. Yes, we have our glass and some other trade products we can be proud of, but is it really all we want Myr to be? I have plans, many plans to bring this city above any other and I will not stop before I either die or succeed."

Sirius took a quick breath and continued before anyone could interrupt, "You all saw what I accomplished and am capable of over the years. Two days ago I proved to the people of Myr that my methods are working. I have the public's support and soon I will have the necessary power to move forward with my plans. And that's what brings us to my business for today. Now that you really know what I want I have an offer for you. You can either join me, give up your title and keep your comfortable lifestyle under the promise that you will free all the slaves you possess or I will slowly destroy you like I did the other six that are no longer with us."

Harry watched, eyes slightly wide, as the room reacted to Sirius' speech. That wasn't in their plans for today, but it seemed that Sirius had other ideas. Though Harry wasn't too sure about revealing so much to their potential enemies and then going to antagonize them even further.

No one said anything for at least a minute, and when someone finally decided to break the silence, it was Magister Bahoris that bolted to his feet and spat out, "Never! I and Magister Ormah ruled over this city before that old bastard even took you in. We will never agree for Myr to have a single leader so you and your bloody sorcerer can try all you want, but you will never succeed."

With that Ormah and Nahoris marched outside the building, almost leaving their guards behind.

Harry who was slowly shaking his head at the shitshow that this meeting had become suddenly turned towards the last potential enemy who exploded in laughter.

"Oh it has been a while since a council meeting was so entertaining," Magister Essohr managed to get out between laughs, "Magister Black, you really are something else. I see that the old goat was right about you... Still, I have some questions of my own before I give you an answer to your offer."

Sirius, not looking even a bit surprised about the events that happened just a minute ago, nodded, "I will try to answer them as well as I can."

"What are those plans you speak of? And why would you try to destroy centuries of tradition for them? Like you mentioned earlier, you managed to make so many changes without complete control so why do you need it now."

Sirius ran a hand through his dark hair, "Because it's not enough Magister Essohr. Slavery is a plague that needs to be cured and I can't do that without complete control. I managed to create Myr a standing army, but for now, it is far too small to handle any bigger foes. We both know well that the two that just ran out won't let me expand it without trying to block me at every step. Currently, Myr is considered as one of the most advanced Free Cities and we are wasting this potential because before I arrived here, Myr was in stagnation."

Essohr nodded, "And your plans?"

Sirius shook his head, "That I can't reveal before I will know that you won't oppose me. All I can say is that if you decide to join me, you will keep your wealth and all of your businesses as long as they aren't involved with slavery. I will grant you more boons once I take over the City, but that's a conversation for a later date."

The other Magister chuckled loudly, "I see that you really have everything planned out... I have no plans to oppose you, Magister Black. I saw what was happening in the past few years and knew that sooner or later this moment would come. Now with a sorcerer by your side, I know that trying to go against you would only go against everything I worked for my entire life. Those two idiots don't realize what they are up against and soon will find out what are the consequences of going against powers they don't understand."

Sirius bowed slightly to the man, "Thank you for not making it any harder. I promise that your compliance will be rewarded."

"Good," Essohr replied before standing up to leave, "Before I depart, I will leave you with one last piece of advice. Don't try to murder those other two just because you can. They still hold a lot of power over the city and have some powerful friends you probably don't even know about. Figure out a way to take them out quietly without anyone figuring out it was you and the city will be yours."

Also standing up, Sirius extended a hand towards the other man, "Again thank you for the precious words of wisdom, I will remember them. Expect my messenger to deliver you a date for a meeting where we will finish our agreement."

Accepting the gesture, Essohr firmly shook Sirius' hand, "I will be waiting, Magister Black. Good luck."

With a nod towards Harry, the ex-Magister strolled outside the room.

Sirius, who always had something intelligent to say, plopped down on his previous seat and smirked at Harry, "That went better than I expected."

Harry who for the last ten minutes was in a constant state of disbelief at the impossibility and stupidity of the entire situation finally came out of his shock and rounded up on his godfather, "What the fuck was that Sirius!? We had a plan and you just went and outright spat on it. What did you think when you spilled almost every plan you had to them?"

Letting out a long sigh Sirius motioned towards the seat next to him. Taking the clue, Harry sat down and glared at his godfather, "I'm waiting."

"I just thought that my new approach would work better. It did so why are you so mad about it? And I didn't tell them anything they didn't already know," Sirius gave his shitty explanation, his voice also slightly raised.

Harry really wanted to pull out his hair and scream at the man, "Sirius you outright threatened them. You were supposed to politely ask them to step down in exchange for important positions in the new Myr or money. So we could formulate a good plan to take them down before we make them our enemies. And let's not forget that you decided to hide your switch of plans from me. Sirius, you died in the old world because people had too many bloody secrets! I don't want that to happen here too. I know that I might be exaggerating, but if you hide your plans now then what is keeping you from doing this again when it will really matter."

With each word Harry uttered, Sirius kept growing smaller and smaller in his chair. Harry really didn't want to lash out like that, but Sirius needed to know that Harry wouldn't follow his godfather if he couldn't even trust him.

"I'm sorry," Sirius finally whispered after a few minutes of silence, "I didn't have anybody I could fully trust for so long, that it just became natural to hide some things."

"I understand Sirius, probably better than anyone else," Harry scowled back, "But if you want me to help you with your madness then I need you to trust me. Just remember what happened to the British wizarding world when Dumbledore decided to keep too many secrets. We won in the end, but at what cost."

Sirius winced and Harry knew that he just remembered the story of how many people died in the last year of war against Voldemort. "I promise that I will try to be completely honest with you. You might need to knock some sense into me once in a while, but I think we will manage."

Harry smiled at Sirius' attempt to disperse the heavy atmosphere and decided to give the man a break and at the same time give him a piece of advice, "Try not. Do… or do not. There is no try."

Sirius' gaze slowly rose to meet Harry's and a grin began to blossom on both of their faces. Shortly after they both exploded in laughter with Sirius almost falling off his chair.

"Did you really just quote Yoda?" Sirius barked out between laughs, "Lily loved Star Wars and I see that this love passed onto her child. And I will Harry, I promise I will."

Letting out a last chuckle, Harry stood up, "Good. Now get up, we have been here long enough that the guards will probably barge in at any moment."

And so Sirius did just that without saying a thing. They kept this silence all the way back to Sirius' residence as Harry knew that his godfather needed this time to properly think about all that happened today. The wizard just hoped that their short argument would help in the long run.

I really hope so, Harry thought as they entered Sirius' home. Because if even his godfather couldn't be trusted in this world then who could.

And that's it for today's chapter.

A bit longer than usual, so I hope you at least enjoyed it.

This chapter was definitely different than what I usually write. I always like to focus on adventures, action, and character progression, but here we had almost an entire chapter of dialogues. All of them were important for both the plot (Mostly politics and the aftermath of the Battle) and character development (Something that I'm trying to improve in my writing).

I'm curious how you will respond to such a change in my writing so let me know what you think. As this is Game of Thrones chapters like this will probably get more and more common, but I will still try to give you enough adventures and action for those that enjoyed it.

Thank you all for reading and if you have any questions remember to leave them in a review or join my discord to ask me personally.

Also a quick word to every new reader.

I know that the earlier chapters of this story are bad. I have written them almost 2 years ago when my experience as a writer was almost nonexistent. In my opinion, I think that I got a lot better over the time and nowadays the chapter and more enjoyable. Of course, I will still make mistakes, create plotholes or make grammar or punctuation mistakes. I am still learning and I will always try to improve. So thank you for surviving through some of the cringe content at the beginning and all the mistakes I made later on. I wish I could fix them, but I just don't have enough time to rewrite the entire stroy.

Have a good day or night everyone!
