Hello, today we'll get another glimpse at the mastermind behind all of this... stay tuned.

Chapter - 9: The Truth

I opened my eyes to find that I was no longer outside, but inside the Covenant Super Carrier. Grabbing out my super shotgun, I stayed on alert as the ODST began to look around the area. I stayed silent, listening, until i heard the sound of a door opening. Turning around I saw an Elite that was faded in appearance, invisible, but not to me. As it got closer I readied my shotgun. The Elite raises his sword. Immediately I turn around and pulled the trigger.

The Elite falls over as his legs have been shot off. He screams in agony. I then shove the gun into his mouth, before pulling the trigger again. His head is blown off, sticking to the barrel of the gun before I shove it to the ground. "Incoming!" I quickly turn around to see all the doors begin to open as Elites, Jackals, and Grunts pile out of the door ways. Reloading my shotgun I jump onto a crate as I shoot an elite closing distance between him and an ODST. I then switch to my Anti-Material-Rifle and blast an 2 more Elites in the head before then shooting the shield of a Jackal - breaking it - before I land another bullet in his chest, sending him flying against the wall.

I reload my Sniper before shooting another Elite in the head. I then jump onto the back of an Elite - stick the barrel into his mouth - and fire. I jump off and grab a Grunt, rip off his methane-tank, and through it into a group of Covenant. I then kick the little fucker across the room. Another Elite hit me from behind, to which I quickly reacted and grabbed the sides of his head. He began to squirm as I stuck my thumbs into his eyes, slowly. I dug my fingers into the top of his helmet until I could feel his flesh through my gloves. I ripped his upper torso and skull in half.

Turning around I see the room full of corpses with some panting ODST. I put the rifle on my back grabbing the hand of an ODST and lifting him up. "You men did good out there, but I think it would be best I do this next part alone." The ODST looked at me in confusion, "Sir with all due respect, there's no way you could go through the rest of this ship alone to find Keyes, we're coming with you." "Trust me, I've had quite a lot of experience, you'll only die." I replied sternly. "That's what we signed up for sir, to die fighting!" I smirk. The only way I could stop them is through force, but I don't have time to. "Alright then, listen up men! This is a death sentence, your chances of survival are slim. If I get swarmed, don't help me, continue the mission. We're going to have to give them a belly full of lead and pool of their own blood to drown in, am I right?" "Sir yes sir!" I smirk again, "Damn right I am. Now move!"

Making our way through series of corridor after corridor - fighting through waves of enemies - we eventually come across the hangar. "Finally, something different!" said one of the ODST, so far none have died and only 2 slightly injured, they impress me. I hear the battle-cry of an Elite, who's head quickly exploded from the round of my Anti-Material Rifle, or AMR. Then grabbing my plasma I aim at a Jackal. But before I took the shot, a distorted voice ricocheted all around my head. The voice sounded like a million different voices but all speaking at the exact same time and in the exact same mood. I couldn't tell what it or they were saying, but none the less I missed the shot. I turn around, but the only thing I see is my men shooting at the covenant forces.

Turning back around, a shake it off before charging up my plasma pistol, and firing it at the Jackal. After his shield fell, I quickly switch back to my sniper and rip a hole into his skull. I then take out my super shotgun and sprint straight towards the crowd. They carry shocked faces as I run forward at full speed. Grabbing onto an Elite's neck, I snap it before sending another flying with 2 shells. Once I cleared most of them out, a large bulkhead opens up to reveal 2 Hunters. Both aim there Fuel-Rod Cannons at me, to which I quickly run to cover. Almost immediately my cover is blown to bits with me getting sent across the room. I hit the wall hard, Causing my shotgun to slide away. Looking up I see the ODSTs struggling to fight the 2 Hunters. I get to feet, limping towards the battle. As my limps turn to a slow gallop, an ODST is threw to the ground. The Hunter charges his FRC and pins it to the chest of the ODST. As I began to run, it was already too late. The ODST began to melt from the heat of the cannon, before exploding sending some blood and mostly steam all around. Now fully sprinting, I topple over the hulking mass, stick a plasma grenade right in their throat, and leap off. The hunter struggles as I kick him towards the other Hunter. And in a split second, they're gone.

Breathing heavily, I turn back to the pile of flesh on the ground that the ODST surround. One grabs their burned dog tags. "Let's not make their death for nothing." The ODST looks to me and nods. Before we go, I grab the M7S. We enter the bulkhead to see another bulkhead at the end of a ramp. As the ODST began to hack the terminal, I noticed something on the ground. It was one of those UAC plasma rifles I used back during the hell invasion of Mars and Earth, though it had a new paint job. The muzzle and the handle area were now a blue-purple, the fusion-core (round disk thing) was yellow, the plasma-coil (main body) was now a dark grey, and the seams were all laced with a green lights.

After picking it up along with a plasma-battery, the bulkhead opens. On the other side is a large room with a tank in the middle, boxes are all over the place, and a single Elite minor stands in shock. Holding down the trigger, a volley of green-plasma soars through the air landing onto the Elite. The Elite began to melt from the extreme heat before turning into a pile of molten flesh and steel. Making quick work of the few remaining enemies, we come across the cells. Marines that were cowering were now looking in confusion. At the other side of the room I spot a terminal. "This terminal should open the cells... try that one." said Cortana. pressing the button the cells all open at once. I step to the man known as captain Keyes. "I've heard a bit about you captain. I'm the Doom Slayer, we don't know what happened but I ended up on the Pillar of Autumn."

Keyes turned towards me, "Well pleasure to meet you son, do you by chance know of the Master Chief, Sierra John-117?" "As a matter of fact, yes. I haven't met him but I have heard of him. I think I might have swapped with his pod." Keyes nodded and turned towards the marines, "Listen up men, we're gonna get off this scrap-heap and find out just what we're on." Marines begin grabbing needlers and plasma rifles while I give the M7S to the captain. As we leave the room, I spot a figure in the corner of my eye, but when I turn to face it, it disappears. Strange I thought. We then blast our way through halls, before then making it to the hangar, We all hop in a Spirit and fly back to base.

Sorry for the delay.
