The Potion Master's Grace

It all started one week before the end of Fourth Year. Everything was relatively normal for Grace McClivert; she had been enjoying her years at Hogwarts, made lots of new friends, done well in all of her classes, started to grow out of her awkward phase, and had been happily residing with her foster family for four years now. Or, at least, she thought she had.

42. Not a Chapter, But an Important Update

Hello! I feel like I owe everyone who follows me on here and who has read and loved The Potion Master's Grace so much, an explanation at least.

My last update was in 2018… which makes sense. I was entering the second semester of my sophomore year of undergrad. Up until that point, my courseload was relatively easy. I was doing most of my GenEds and had a balance of free time where I could do my writing. It was spring of 2019 that college started to become really difficult for me. Not only were my classes getting harder as I started to take more major-oriented courses, but I also started working more, my mental health began to decline, and my social life shifted completely. With that, I also started to hyperfixate on something else. With a new fandom came, of course, the excitement of it and I started writing for that fandom. And then I started to shift again and I started writing for another fandom! It wasn't that I had forgotten about The Potion Master's Grace, it was that I just was excited to branch out to a new fandom, with new characters and new fics.

Then, with the popularity of TikTok, I began to shift back into the Harry Potter fandom. I began thinking and writing about a new character who was in love with George Weasley. And then I thought, "Well this character could exist in The Potion Master's Grace universe!" I went about collabing these two stories together, opening up my word doc countless times, only to just stare at the page I left off at.

I decided the only thing I could do was start over.

So that is when I made the decision to start at the beginning of The Potion Master's Grace and read my own fic. I started to make a very extensive timeline of events, both in the fic and before the fic takes place. I realized that a lot of my math was off and things were not matching up. I also realized how much my writing has changed since 2017 when I started writing it! I started writing PMG in my senior year of high school. I've just now graduated with my Bachelor's degree. Of course, my writing has evolved! But I found myself changing so much.

To make it up to all of you lovely readers, I hope you will accept the REVISED version of The Potion Master's Grace as my apology. If you loved the original version, you will LOVE the revised version. I'm not yet done going through and editing and revising it, but I am already proud of it.

Not only will readers experience a new writing style, but they'll experience a new, enhanced story. Some parts I've deleted entirely, but in return, I've written pages and pages of new material, new characters, and new plotlines. If you think that you don't need to read it because you've read it before, you're wrong! And from there, once I present a work that I'm proud of, I will be able to continue the story once again.

I hope you all understand my circumstances for the past two years, and I hope it will not stop you from reading the Revised version of PMG. I will be uploading the revised chapters in place of the original chapters, so I'm afraid the original version will no longer exist.
