Day 47
We're finally back in Camp Taurajo and I never want to spend so much time at the top of a tiny mountain again. I didn't even get to spend much time in the watchtower once it was complete. Everybody seems to be amused by my suffering as well, I have been betrayed! At least Nyx is happy to have me back and wasted no time getting me to play with her.
The last few days of being on that mountain were pure torture to my mind and my woodcarving didn't get much better. Oh well. At least I don't have to stare at a whole bunch of nothing anymore or have to run down that mountain to talk to travelers. That absolutely sucked and I have no desire to experience that at night ever again.
I'm noticing a few familiar tauren missing from the long house and Logmar told me groups had been pulled from all the long houses and sent elsewhere to protect Horde interests. Good luck brave fellows. More rookies have arrived to replace them and unfortunately we got a farter. Don't know his name and I already hate him.
Sorek finally sent a reply about the shipwreck the divers had found. A few orcish families from the Swamp of Sorrows chartered two ships and decided to sail for a better life and unfortunately found storms. I'm the only survivor of my ship and of the other ship, which limped into the bay several days after I washed up, nobody personally knew who I was. Well... nice to know where I stand at least.
I sent out a whole bundle of letters to my various friends today. Mostly they all consisted with chatter about the landscape and animals, asking about their health, recent news. All those things that I need to remember to talk about with friends. I even remembered to write to Greentitan and Laryne, though in a single letter, to ask about how their forest growth experiment was going. I can't wait to smell the lumber in the morning.
Oh it looks like Taliaa just stomped off in search of her own spyglass. If she manages to find one here I'll go look myself but I think that can wait until I check out Thunder Bluff. No Journal, I haven't forgotten I'm just waiting for free time. Taliaa promised to keep me from falling over any edges, though I'm not sure if she was joking or being serious. I did learn she used to be an average warrior before becoming a paladin after Quel'Thalas fell and that she is actually a pretty powerful healer as well. Elves are Hax.
One of the orc recruits challenged me to arm wrestling and I felt a bit validated when I pinned him pretty easily, not going to lie to you Journal. Effort begets rewards and boy am I feeling it. I made a few copper off the new challengers before they gave up on me but now I'm definitely going to fleece them with Taliaa.
What would I spend the money on you may wonder? Wood for a chess set to stave off boredom! My carving skills are exceptionally poor at the moment however so I'll need a lot more wood to practice with. Maybe a dice tray or a cup before I try for the chessboard. Drinking cup that is, not a dice cup silly Journal.
I went through that book about Stromgarde for pleasure instead of profit so I guess writing a bit about it won't annoy me. It was a mostly accurate history about the kingdom from what I knew. Bits about the Arathi tribe and the Troll Wars, the Arathor Empire in brief, and then more recent years. The ascension of the Trollbane family after Thoradin's royal line in Strom ended, the rebuilding of Strom into Stromgarde, fighting the Kingdom of Alterac before the Second War and stuff. Unfortunately I'd need to find a new book for after the Second War.
Boo, we just got new orders. Taliaa and I are joining a group to fight the silithid in the South. Considering how boring the last few days have been the speed of today is a rush. The rush of battle tomorrow is probably going to be fun. Heh. I should probably hunt Taliaa down and maybe see if anyone has some spare torches. Kill it with fire, right?
-Borgin (PS: Beware a paladin with a grudge, Taliaa really likes smiting undead.)
AN: Is it obvious I'm entirely avoiding cash math because it would waste hours of my time? Poor Borgin doesn't get quest rewards, just a paycheck.
