Link bolted up, pain coursing through himself, causing him to fall right back down back first. Link took a deep breath. He felt sweaty, fatigued, sore, and burned all at the same time. Link closed his eyes.

'What happened?' Link thought to himself. 'Last thing I remember I was talking to Zelda after we beat Ganon and then... shit.'

Link had passed out due to his severe burns and injuries from fighting the castle sized beast. Link opened his eyes and stared up into the clear night sky. Link thought to himself. He was laying down, that he knew. A cloak covered him, keeping him warm. Zelda. She must've put Link here. But where was here?

He felt as if he were laying on stone, he looked up towards the moon to get better light, but a pointy structure was blocking it. Link put the pieces together: he was on a Sheikah tower. Did Zelda bring him here? Can her Sealing Powers transport him? But where was Zelda? He tried to sit up slowly this time, propping himself up on his elbow and looked around. He was indeed on a Sheikah tower, though being on the floor of the tower, he couldn't look over and see which tower he was at. Link was starting to get worried. Zelda wasn't anywhere to be seen, she had her Sealing Powers yes, but that doesn't mean-

"Link?"

Link turned towards the gaping hole in near the center of the tower where he would usually climb through after making his up. There was Zelda, still in her dirty goddess dress, climbing up through the hole.

"Zelda! I just woke up! What happened, where have you been? Are you okay?" Link asked with genuine concern.

"I'm fine Link, I'm fine, promise." Zelda said with a smile. Finding a place against one of the tower pillars to sit. "I know you are my knight, but with this Sealing Power I can handle a few bokoblins myself. I did handle containing Ganon a hundred years, after all."

Link knew she was right but he couldn't help but worry. She did just get out of the Calamities clutches... Link didn't like the idea of anything else bad happening to her after so much already. Zelda could apparently read his face, even in the moonlight.

"Don't worry Link, I'm sure after you've healed you'll be back to following me around again. You can protect me all you want. Besides I might need you sooner than I thought..."

Zelda's last sentence was quieter than the first. She looked down at her hands as she spoke. Link furrowed his eyebrows.

"You okay?" He asked, worried.

"What? Yes, Yes, I'm fine Link, really." Zelda said, seemingly snapping out of her thoughts. "The better question is are YOU okay? You did reckless things in that battle now that I've had time to process it! How did you not burn to a crisp in that beam? Did the Master Sword protect you somehow? Why would you even try that? What would've happened if you would've been killed! Do you know how upset I would've been?" Zelda ranted, giving like a sour look.

Link stared for a moment and then laughed.

"What's so funny? I'm serious, Link!"

"I know, I know, I'm sorry." Link said, coughing once to get himself under control. "There were multiple reasons. One, I needed to be a direct hit for him while he was aiming. His blast was big. I noticed that even though he was aiming for me, if he missed he could potentially hit surrounding places. One blast hit Duel Peaks, I still hope they weren't injured over there. So I stayed close to him so his blast would aim a bit more downwards to hit the surrounding hills instead of anywhere far. Number two, as for how I survived, it was the Master Sword. It was low on energy but I pleaded with it to give me one more good strike. I heard its voice and-"

"The sword actually spoke to you!?" Zelda asked, moving from a sitting position to being on her knees and inching towards Link. Link looked confused.

"I mean, yes but you knew that the sword could speak, didn't it speak to you once?" Link asked.

"Yes when you..." Zelda's curious look faltered for a distressed one, but immediately shook it off. "Yes but I didn't know you were able to hear it yet. You've never been able to before."

"Well it came when needed. It told me to raise it skyward and I did. It seemed to build up some energy and well, I slashed the Snout Faces pink beam with it and poof, I'm alive. The wind from the flames also allowed me to fly up and get the last arrow out."

Zelda sighed. "Well that doesn't make me feel any better that you almost died again..."

"What was that Zelda?" Link asked, tilting his head. Zelda looked flustered.

"Nothing, nothing at all." Zelda said, returning to her sitting position against the tower pillar.

"Well my turn for questions," Link said. Zelda looked worried, to Link's misunderstanding.

"What?" He asked. Zelda faltered.

"No-nothing, Link, nothing. What's your... questions?"

"Well where are we? And how did you get us both here? Did you use your sealing power to get us here?"

Zelda sighed of relief, again to Links confusion as to why, and explained.

"I used the Sheikah Slate to transport us here. I figured this would be the best spot for the time being. A tower out of monsters way and without Yiga being able to get us. I also had a bit of business here..."

"Business? What business? What tower are we at?" Link asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Great Plateau Tower. I went to visit the house my father's spirit lived in for a hundred years..." Zelda looked down at her thighs. Link felt a pang of sorrow for Zelda. She never truly got to say goodbye to the King. Right after everyone's deaths, including his own, Zelda went to fight the Calamity alone. Zelda didn't get to truly process anyone's deaths.

"Zelda, I'm... I'm sorry about King Rhoam... and the Champions... and everyone back then... I-I know you must be hurting. Especially your father-"

"I know Link. It's alright, I'm okay..." She smiled. The proper princess smile. Link frowned.

"Well, the Champions, they had some words before I left them on their beasts-"

"I know Link... I heard them, I made sure to watch those parts of your journey. I know what they all said." Zelda was now looking over the tower, to the view below them. Link forced himself up and grabbed the Sheikah Slate, which was resting near the original activation stone on the floor.

"Link, you really shouldn't be moving-"

"It's alright Zelda. This will allow me not to have to need Mipha's Grace..."

Link opened up the Sheikah Slate to the Items tab and a bottle formed in his hand, from blue lines, to an elegant looking bottle with light pink liquid inside.

Zelda looked amazed. "Is that...?"

"Fairy Tonic, useful for healing injuries. Won't fully heal me but I'll be way better than now." Link opened the bottle and chugged the Tonic away. He felt instantly better, he felt the burns on his arms and shoulders disappear. "That's better."

Link then brought out wood and flint from the Slate, fixing them into position on the ground. And now all he needed was too... He reached for his back, however he realized it wasn't there.

"Other side of the activation stone," Zelda informed, now returning to peering over the edge of the tower. Link looked and saw the faint purple glistening in the moonlight. He grabbed the master Sword and lightly swung at the flint. The fire sparked up, warming him instantly.

"That feels much better. Thank you Link. You'll need to show me how to use those new tools on the slate." Zelda said, scooting closer to the fire.

"You watched me this entire time, how do you not know?" Link asked curiously. Putting the Master Sword on the floor and sitting next to the fire as well.

"I didn't see everything. Just bits and pieces of the most important parts." Zelda corrected, kind of huffy.

"That may be a good thing." Link mumbled to himself, as he opened up the food tab on the Slate. "I'm assuming you haven't eaten in a hundred years?"

"You'd assume right. That would be a lovely Link, thank you. I'm assuming you still remember how to cook properly?" Zelda teased. "I did notice all your failed attempts... What does the Slate call it? Dubious food...?"

"We don't talk about that..." Link mumbled. "Meat and Rice Bowl?"

"Please."

Link made a bowl of food appear out of the Slate and handed one to Zelda, making a second one appear for himself right after.

"So there are monsters still about then?" Link asked, scarfing his food down.

"Unfortunately yes. During the battle, Ganon did summon a final Blood Moon. It brought everything back. There are some here on the Plateau and Hyrule is still plagued with monsters."

"I'll have to just clear them all out then," Link muttered to himself, now drinking out of a coconut.

"If I hadn't watched you do it over and over again I would've called you a madman." Zelda giggled. Link smiled, happy to see a genuine smile on the princess's face.

"Well Princess, you need to get sleep, I see those bags under your eyes. I'll keep watch so you relax."

Zelda looked at Link and blinked. "Don't do that."

"Do what?" Link asked.

"Call me princess. Not you. That hasn't changed. I told you not to call me that then, don't revert back and call me that now..." Zelda said with a sad tone. Link was generally surprised at that response.

"I was just kidding around Zelda... are you sure you are alright?"

"I... I'm fine yes, sorry, I'll call it a night. Is there a sleeping pack in there?"

Link went into the slate and pulled out a sleeping bag. Zelda took it and rolled it out next to Link. She climbed in and faced away from the knight.

"Link..."

"Yes Zelda?" Link said, him now being the one to look out over the tower.

"I'm glad I'm back with you."

Link heard her start to snore softly and he smiled.

"I'm glad you're back with me too."
