"Four Lizalfos on the floor, two archers on top of the second level in arching range..." Link mumbled outloud. He has just warped to the Sheikah Shrine under the docks and had made his way to the hidden door that lead into the library.

All the monsters spawned in the same places. The last Blood Moon shouldn't have been any different, tough Link expected them to be silver Lizalfos or above. Link looked at his items he currently had equipped. The Sheikah Slate, the Master Sword, the Hylian shield, a Lynel bow, and bomb arrows. Link frowned and swapped the bomb arrows out for regular arrows.

He took the Sheikah Slate, and with Magnesis, pushed the door open. He ran in and immediately activated Daruks protection to shield him from the first barrage of arrows. He looked to his right, the first Lizafos was zigzagging his way to Link. Link looked left and forward. The other Lizalfos hadn't noticed them. Link had figured long ago that the monsters in the castles senses were being obstructed by Zelda's magic, that seemed to still be the lingering case as to why they never noticed a battle so close to them.

Link, turned back to the charging Lizalfos and parried the oncoming slice. Using Revali's Gail, Link soared into the sky, allowing the next wave of arrows to miss him. Knocking arrows into his Lynel Bow, Link took aim, time seemed to slow for him. Taking aim, Link shot the two Lizalfos on the second level before switching his bow out for the Master Sword, slamming back down into the ground killing the Lizalfos that had first swung at him. Taking the Lizalfos Tri- Boomerang, Link aimed and threw, striking the Lizalfos clear in the back of the neck.

The final two Lizolfos Charged Link from behind trying to catch the knight off guard, however Link was ready. Right before the Lizalfos brought their spears down, Link gripped the Master Sword and spun, energy flying from all directions. Link sheathed the Master Sword on his back once again, though he heard a rustle. He immediately pulled out the bow and turned to shoot an arrow into the surviving Lizalfos face at point blank range, causing the dead lizard to fly back.

Link sighed. He was off his game today. He thought best to avoid using the bomb arrows to try and keep the damage to a minimum. Zelda might wanna go through those books. Link climbed up the wall around the broken stairs and started making his way through the castle corridors.

Link continued his, hopefully, final siege of the castle. Taking on Moblins and Lizalfos as he went, though his mind was elsewhere. He had been trying to act as normal as he could with Zelda. His memories were still fractured but he remembered most of his encounters with Zelda... or at least he wanted to believe he did.

He knew he was a Silent Knight at the beginning. Never speaking, always gesturing, and saying as little as possible. Why would the Princess of Hyrule want to speak to him? It didn't help she despised him, or at least that's what it felt like. Over time however, notably after saving a stubborn Zelda from the Yiga Clan, Zelda opened up to him. She, in reality, had hated the fact that he was silent, she wanted to get to know him... to have a friend. The Princess felt alone, burdened, the weight of the kingdom on her shoulders to Seal the Calamity. Only one person could understand her. Link. The only reason she despised him was due to the fact he had completed half his mission: Pulling the Master Sword. At the time Zelda hadn't even made success unlocking her powers. She couldn't even feel them.

From what Link could remember, he opened up to her as well. As he was the only one who could understand her, she was the only one who could understand him. He was the Knight destined to Seal the Darkness, the wielder of the Master Sword, appointed knight to the Princess of Hyrule at such a young age. Link remembered the weight, the stress, and the eyes upon him. Zelda was the only one who truly understood him.

After their heart to heart the two became relatively close, though both understood their respective roles. She was a Princess. He was a Knight. In the castle, the kingdom or in the presence of other Knights then he would refer to her as Princess and stay his stoic self. However in private...

Link was cut out of his thoughts by a roar behind him, a Lynel was now charging his way. Link sighed. When did he make it outside? Usually, Link had a good time, even finding thrill in taking on monsters, but after traversing this castle numerous times it had become too systematic for him. Link engaged the Lynel still lost in his thoughts.

Link remembered the adventures Zelda and himself had ventured on. After their talk Link had become much more open in front of her. Link was free to speak as he wished without worry. It got to the point he would speak his mind, tease the princess, even disagree with her at times. As much as he knew he annoyed her, he also knew she much preferred him as he was than the Silent Knight she had once knew. And Link enjoyed the stubborn, experimental Zelda.

Link jumped onto the Lynels back and started slashing away as the Lynel shook violently to rid itself of its pest.

She wasn't you average princess. She wasn't very proper, she could be very stubborn, a bit whiny at times. She had a good heart though. Sometimes it was hard for her to express herself or be honest with how she was truly feeling. But one thing that really stood out was her excitement to learn and try new things. While she usually was fascinated with Guardian technology, a lot of her obsession's, at least from what Link could gather, was because it was all she could work on besides her training. It was an excuse to do something 'exciting' because it was in preparation to stop the Calamity. Zelda talked about wanting to travel, explore and adventure. Give her free reign and Link of back then was worried for her safety.

Link chuckled and smiled after snapping his fingers, allowing lighting to come crashing down on the Lynel, the finishing blow. However his smile vanished as he picked up the Lynel sword and swung it around a bit.

Zelda was different. Of course she was she just got released from her tower after a hundred years. Or was she different? He still hadn't gotten all his memories. He felt he knew Zelda well. He had most of his memories of them, at least he believed he did. How do you know if you forgot something? You wouldn't. What if he and her put a wall between them? Would he have remembered the bad parts after they had gotten close? He did remember the bad beginning parts so... that was something.

Link sighed. He was now walking through the corridors making sure he had cleared all the monsters out. He was worried about her as well. Link couldn't remember the Calamity that well. Could she after a hundred years? She must be scared, nervous, even worse. Was it okay for him to act normal? What if she doesn't consider him a close friend? But he's also all she had besides maybe Impa, Purah and Robbie. Who are now all aged... with the exception of Purah.

He also had to think. Was he still needed? Now that the Calamity is gone what's there for him? He was still being her attendant but he felt different. More free. He wasn't the same Link as back then. Even without his memory loss he could tell that he would be different if he didn't lose his memories. Did he stay...? Would she want him to stay...?

Link did know one thing. He walked into the tower he had saw Calamity Ganon burst out of its shell. He looked at the hole in the ground.

He wanted to help her and be there for her however need be. For now. That was good enough. Whatever she was going through. He would be there. For the first time since he had woken up... He felt at home with her. He now remembered the night he had fallen, giving in to his injuries. He would not fall again. He would not abandon her again.

Zelda or his own future wasn't the only thing on his mind however. Link pulled the Master Sword from his back and held it out, staring at the winged purple guard. The Battle with Ganon raised more questions for him. There truly was a voice in the sword. He had heard Zelda speak of it, but he never heard... or even believed for that matter that it was real. He always felt the sword had a will of its own, in fact he knew since the sword chose its owner. But enough to have a voice? Impossible. And if it was then he could only imagine that Zelda with her Sealing Power would be the one to hear it.

But he did hear it. Yesterday he heard the sword guide him. It told him to raise it 'skyward' to repel the Malice Beam. The powerful strike did protect him. But what was that strike? The blade if Link is completely healthy can shoot small beams, but that beam. That was different.

Link raised his sword Skyward once again... Nothing. No light travelled from the tip to the base this time. The sword was quiet. He swung the Master Sword left, right, and twirled it back into its sheath on his back. The sword held secrets, history, and more. Link would grow closer to his sword somehow. He would once again hear the voice. With a look of confidence he opened his Sheikah Slate and teleported back to his awaiting Princess.

It was raining now. Link formed on the center of the teleport circle, and looked to see Zelda napping against on of the pillars. Well she did defend against the Calamity for a hundred years straight. Link would've been more surprised if she was full of energy. Link bent down a few feet away from her.

She was as beautiful as always. Her golden locks falling past her shoulders to her waist, her fair skin practically glowing, and her peaceful expression bringing it together. As much as Link loved looking at her, he would never tell her he thought those things. As close as they were, she only considered him a friend, a best friend at that. He knew he had feelings for her back then but he was a Knight. She was a Princess. He rather liked having his head connected to his shoulders.

He chuckled. He had already accepted that fate of not being with the Princess a long time ago. Now was not the time to think about that though.

"Princess..." He called softly. No response. Zelda continued to sleep peacefully.

"Princess, the castle is clear, we gotta go before the rain reaches the castle..." He said a bit louder this time. Zelda's eyebrows twitched at the disturbance and she readjusted herself before falling into deep sleep once again.

"Zelda..." Link called out a bit more gently, but louder all the same. Zelda's eyes flutter open and she looks at Link before gasping.

"Link! What time is it? When did you get back? How long did I sleep?" She looks around frantically before looking up at the sky, trying to determine the time but the rain clouds were hovering over instead of a bright sun. Link chuckles.

"I said I wouldn't be gone long. It's only been about three hours since I left." He said, now standing.

"Oh, wow you cleared it out that fast? That's mighty impressive of you Link. Shall we go get what we need from there then?" She asks, standing as well dusting herself off.

"As you wish." Link smiles. Zelda groups closer to him, and Link pulls out the Sheikah Slate. The two start glowing the familiar blue light before turning into streaks, heading to their destination.
