Link and Zelda rode into Hateno Village, Zelda sitting in front of Link while Link held the reins of Epona, slowly walking in. Zelda was sleeping, resting on Link's chest as he rode in. There was a rather large man digging around the grass near the entrance of village.

"What are you doing down there Manny?" Link asked, looking down at the dirt groveler. The man looked up with a pleading look.

"LINK! You gotta help me! I need more crickets for Prima!" He cried, now groveling at Epona. Epona whined at the discomfort. Link sighed.

"Manny, for the last time, I don't think she really wants crickets. I think she really just wants you to stop bothering her." Link said, tapping Epona to walk again. Manny stood up and walked next to Epona.

"But Link, you told me that's what she said..."

"And I seriously regret helping you out that time. Manny, I'm telling you, she doesn't care about crickets. I really don't think she's interested in you." Link said looking around and waving at the other villagers, before turning Epona up the hill towards his bridge.

"But why wouldn't she like me? I've given her so many crickets!" Manny cried.

"What happened to that cool person façade you used to put on?" Link asked, legitimately curious. Manny used to stand near the inn 'inspecting' people.

"I'm out of business, Link. There isn't anyone left to inspect... Except now that I've got a good look at you... Who's the cutie in your arms?" He asked, with a grin.

"Ask that again, and you'll have crickets down your trousers. And that's a promise." Link said threateningly, looking down at Manny as they crossed the bridge. Manny shrugged.

"It would only help me out. Now tell me who that is in your arms. Is she yours?"

Link felt a temple pulse in his forehead.

"Clearly I didn't make myself clear the first time. Let me correct that. Say another word about this person in my arms and I will personally kick you off this bridge. I would turn back now before I decide to have Epona do it for me." Link said, his eyes piercing through Manny. Manny backed up in fear. He had never seen Link like this.

"Okay! Okay! I understand, I'm going, I'm going!" Manny said, running back across the bridge. Link continued to look back until Manny was out of sight before facing his house. The sun was now setting and the sky was turning orange.

"Why if it isn't Link! Coming back to enjoy the beautiful home I've built ya hun?" Bolson asked as Epona walked up, Link and Zelda still riding her.

"Just as much as you like my fire pit and tree. What's so nice about sitting there Bolson?" Link asked, as he tapped Zelda awake. Zelda woke with a start before falling back asleep, not before making herself comfy in Links tunic.

"Why the view is just divine m'boy! Even as a retired carpenter, I still find inspiration in things such as the view!" Bolson said doing his little dance. "You of all people must understand."

"I won't say I don't, but there are other views." Link said chuckling, as he looked down at Zelda, trying to figure out how to get her off the horse.

"And it seems you have a pretty good view down there for you. Who's the girl? Are we going to have another wedding soon?" Bolson teased. Link rolled his eyes chuckling.

"Not anytime soon Bolson. Her and I aren't like that." Link said, tapping Zelda again. She grumbled and turned completely toward him, burying her face in his shirt. Link sighed, looking up at the darkening sky.

"Well, best we be on our way home. But no matter what you tell me honey..." Bolson said walking past. "That's the look of love I see in your eyes. And her actions speak for herself. Toot aloo!"

Link watched as Bolson walked away across the bridge. Zelda and himself weren't like that... Well he still didn't know what Zelda felt. He had remembered the song Kass had told him regarding the Princesses feelings toward him. But again, that was a long time ago right? Well maybe for him but not for her... How did he feel about her?

Link shook his head. He was just repeating thoughts of the castle at this point. For now he just needed to get her off the horse and into bed. Link racked his mind for options until a rather... interesting one had come to mind.

"Sorry about this Zelda..." Link said quietly before taking out the Sheikah Slate. Aiming it at Zelda, he hit the Stasis Rune. He lightly tapped her a few times to make sure she would fall to the left. He jumped off the Epona, to the left and waited for the rune to deactivate. After a few seconds the rune broke, sending tiny yellow particles into the air, Zelda, slowly falling off the horse, to the left, right into Links arms. Epona grunted.

"Did you have a better idea?" Link asked the horse. Epona started trotting away.

"That's what I thought. Teach you to question my skills... I beat Ganon..." Link mumbled under his breath as he carried Zelda to the door. Zelda gripped his shirt as he carried her. He smiled as he lightly kicked the door open.

He carried Zelda all the way to his bed before laying her down and tucking her in. He smiled and brushed hair out of her face. Tomorrow was going to be a long day...

Link walked back out the house, started the fire pot and sat next to the tree. Link pulled the Master Sword from its sheath and stared at the blade over the fire.

"Do you know how I should feel?" Link asked the sword. The sword had not responded with words, but a faint glow and a small, small oddly familiar sound.

"I'll take that as a no..."

Link fell asleep to the lyrics of the song Kass played for him repeating in his ear.

Zelda woke with a start. For the first time in a hundred years, she was waking up in a bed. An actual bed. She got up, stretched and looked down. She was still in her travelling gear. She looked around at the unfamiliar house. Where was she? She racked her brain before remembering what Link had told her before they left. So this was Link's house. She walked down stairs and looked around.

Weapon Racks. Shield Racks. Bow Racks. Pantry. This was definitely Links house. Zelda sighed. This was definitely going to need a tune up if she were going to live here... Wait, was she living here? She specifically remembered Link saying something about getting her a house... What was wrong with staying here with him? It would be nice not to live alone... Do commoners all live alone? No that can't be right... People got married... Wait, did they have to be married to live together? No no no that was preposterous... Wait, where was Link?

Zelda looked around. The knight was nowhere to be seen. She walked outside to see Link, sleeping against a tree. Zelda sighed. There wasn't a second bed in there. Link had chosen to sleep under the stars.

She walked over to him and crouched down.

"Link," She called softly. Link grunted awake, before shooting up and readying the Master Sword, that had been unsheathed in his hand still. He looked around, a battle ready look in his eye, before looking down and seeing a very startled Zelda.

"P-Princess! I'm so sorry, are you alright?" Link asked, bending down at her level again. Zelda gave him a pained look.

"I'm just fine, are you alright?" She asked, her green eyes piercing his blue ones. Link blinked a few times before answering.

"Yea I'm fine." He said, sheathing the blade, sitting back down against the tree. "What are you doing up this early?"

"I did fall asleep on the ride here so I guess I got my first real nights rest." Zelda said, scooting to sit next to him. "This is a wonderful house Link."

Link snorted.

"Yea right. Compared to your castle? I'm sure this thing could fit in your castle room..." Link said, looking at it, ashamed he made the princess sleep in there.

"True, but Link, I'm not a princess anymore remember?" Zelda said. "And even if I was, I think it's cozy. I think I'll enjoy living with you here."

Link took that in for a second. She wasn't a princess anymore. The same rules don't apply as before right? He technically wasn't her knight anymore. Of course he only said that to relieve her of any guilt she may have had, but to her that was true. Link pondered that for a second before his eyes got wide.

"Living with me?" Link said, turning towards Zelda, who looked back at him confidently.

"Yes, that's what I said. Are you not okay with that?" Zelda said, her face slowly starting to fall.

"Well, I mean I don't mind but... I'm sure you would want a place of your own right? This barely has a room for one if you can even call it a room... And I mean, I'm just a swordsman, your still an ex-princess, I'm sure I can find a place for you to live comfortable alone-"

"And how would I learn to be a normal girl if you aren't around to show me everything?" Zelda asked furrowing her eyebrows.

"I mean, We'd be in the same area..." Link said, raising a hand to scratch the back of his head. Zelda stared blankly at him before responding.

"No."

"No?"

"No. I'm staying with you. That's final." Zelda said crossing her arms and huffing. "It would be more effective to live together than apart. Besides... it would be a bit lonely. I like having you around. Unless you don't want to live with me..."

Zelda looked back towards Link.

"I understand if you don't. I've got a lot to learn. I know I can be stubborn at times.."

"NO! I mean, no not at all. We can live together." Link said nervously.

Zelda clapped her hands together and smiled.

"Perfect! Now we have a long day today! What are you going to show me?" Zelda asked, getting up and dusting herself off.

Link chuckled and stood up.

"Well you need to meet the townspeople. Their are new faces since a hundred years ago. Also we need to get you some new clothes."

"New clothes? What's wrong with my current ones? I just got these back..." Zelda said, looking down at herself.

"Yes but people will look at your clothes and charge things higher. It looks like you have money. Those clothes in a commoners eyes in this day and age looks like you raided the castle and came out rich. Plus the Yiga are still around. They know us and we need to still be a bit discreet on the road when we travel again. Also... Might as well get used to changing outfits a lot now..." Link mumbled that last part, but Zelda heard it.

"What? Why?"

"You'll see on the road..."
