"Link... I will not lose you again..." Zelda said in Link's arm as they sat in the water. "Ever..."
Water and mud splashed as the two ran through the stormy winding path. Link ran ahead of as Zelda skidding to a stop, readying her bow. Two rocks, left and right, wooden barricades, exactly as Link had said. Two Lizalfos appeared, readying lightning arrows aimed directly at Link. The Lizard monsters released, the electricity arrows whizzing through the air. Link backflipped, taking out his own Lynel bow and firing at the two with ice arrows, causing the Lizards to completely disintegrate.
With Link still in the air, a third Lizard popped from wooden barricade, zigzagging its way towards him. However an ice arrow landed directly in the lizards skull, its body crashing down and sliding into the moist rocks .
"Nice one!" Link called out through the rain as he landed. Zelda jogged to catch up with him.
"Was it always this rainy before?" Zelda asked, brushing wet bangs out of her face from her unkempt braid and ponytail.
"Every now and then," Link said loudly over the storm. "Vah Ruta, made it storm for what seemed like an eternity until I cleansed it. This is just regular Lanaryu Region rain currently. You remember the way up to the Domain right?"
Zelda nodded, wiping water from her face. Link nodded back.
"If we get separated, make your way to the Domain okay? Stay on the path this time. Those lightning arrows are no joke!" Link called out. Zelda's eyes grew wide.
"You trust me by myself?" She called out curiously. Link shrugged.
"No! But I gotta start letting you do your own thing every now and then. But I'm talking about if we get separated!" Link called as he started running forward. Zelda rolled her eyes as she followed.
Many Lizalfos and even more electric arrows later the two had finally made it to Luto Bridge, an extensive bridge covering the river separating part of Ruto Mountain and the Zodobon Highlands.
"Why... Why did we have to leave the horses behind..." Zelda gasped as she caught up with Link, falling to her knees gasping for breath. She looked up at Link, who seemed perfectly energetic.
"How are you not tired?" She asked the breaths. Link shrugged yet again. "A couple of prayers you could say. Take short breaks and jog between your sprinting, it'll give you a little time to breath. That'll help you keep your stamina up." Link said through the rain, reaching a hand out to Zelda. Zelda grabbed and allowed herself to be pulled back up. Link pointed left of the bridge.
"Take a look at that." Link said, as Zelda peered in the direction Link was pointing. Through the night sky had started to overtake, the brilliance of the Domain shone bright, the rain drops shining as they passed the domain. Zelda's eyes sparkled.
"We made it..." Zelda said to herself. They had done it, without the help of the Sheikah Slate. This was Zelda's first part to her true adventure. Not as a Princess to be protected, but as a adventurer.
While Zelda stared at the beauty of the Domain she had not seen in a hundred years, Link stared not at the Domain, but the girl next to him. Her originally kept hair now a bit messy, her clothes normal and muddy. And yet, she had never looked more beautiful. Her eyes shown not of duty and shame, but of life and wonder. Her expressions and features not proper or royal, but real and true.
Link smiled, as he turned his attention to the Sheikah Slate, conjuring up his Tri-Boomerang. Zelda turned to him, first focused on the Tri-Boomerang with curiosity, but then on the smile on his face.
"What are you smiling at?" Zelda asked. Link shook his head.
"I'm not smiling," He said teasingly as he threw his sharp boomerang.
"Liar." Zelda said as she watched the boomerang fly directly into the Moblin that stood in the middle of the bridge.
"They don't have much perception do they?" She asked as the Moblin fell of the bridge, crashing into the waters below.
"Bigger the size, smaller the intelligence..." Link said as he caught the boomerang, returning it to the Sheikah Slate. Zelda raised an eyebrow however.
"What about Lynels?" She asked as Link brushed his wet hair out of his face. Link thought about that for a second.
"Different breed. Doesn't count." He said simply. Zelda gave a single chuckle at his answer. "Come on, we just need to get through Ruto Mountain and then cross the Great Zora Bridge."
Link and Zelda made their way through the mountain before Link suddenly stopped. Zelda had walked a few feet forward before realizing, and turned to face Link.
"Link? Link what is it?" Zelda asked as she saw Link's face contort to fear. What was he so shocked about? She watched as Link's pointed ears perked, he started looking around desperately trying to find something.
"Zelda! Run to the domain now!" Link called out bringing his bow out and drawing it. He heard it. The laugh and the invisible pitter patter of a Wizzrobe. Zelda hadn't heard it over the rain. He would be fine, but if lightning struck down...
"Link what's going on?" Zelda yelled as she drew her own bow.
"No! Zelda you don't understand, it's out of your league-" Link turned and called back, however that was his mistake. The wizzrobe appeared bringing its lightning rod down, the area sparked before the lightning crashed to the ground on top of Link and Zelda, the ground rumbling, trees falling, a dome of electricity growing over the plot of land before evaporating.
Link, electricity coursing around him, forced himself on his feet.
"ZELDA!?" He called out. He looked around before he saw her body laying in the moist grass, the bow and broadsword she had, sparking with electricity around her. Fury rose within Link as he drew the Master Sword. The Wizzrobe was now taunting the night by jumping up and down in the air. Link bared his fangs as he drew the Master Sword.
"YOU!" He yelled as he rose the Master Sword high. Lightning struck the blade, energy and electricity coursing through it. Link brought the sword swipe down, the circular beam of energy hurtling towards the Wizzrobe. The beam collided with the monster disintegrating it. The beam flew into the air, dispelling after a distance.
Link stood, staring still furious at the spot where the Wizzrobe floated before turning and running towards Zelda's body.
"No, no, no , no," Link muttered as he shoved the Master Swords blade into the ground next to her. He hurriedly lifted Zelda a bit. Link brought an ear to her chest. She was breathing. She was burned, but alive. Link sighed but quickly reached for the Sheikah Slate. He scrolled through until he found it. A fairy.
The bottle appeared in his hand. Quickly dumping the fairy out, the fairy circled its way around Zelda before disappearing. Zelda lay unresponsive until she coughed violently. She would be fine, but she needed treatment. Link looked towards the Domain and nodded to himself.
He put her bow and sword into the Sheikah Slate and Sheathed the Master Sword before lifting the burned girl onto his back, now jogging towards the Domain.
"You said you won't lose me again... But what about me losing you?"
