"What do you mean he left?" Zelda uttered after a few moments of silence. Robbie sighed, now rummaging through boxes and bags. Zelda watched as he pulled out various tools, avoiding her question. Zelda's eyes furrowed as she looked between Robbie's backside and Jerrin, how had now stood once again by her bookcase.

"Where's Link!?" Zelda called out again in frustration. Robbie turned, now holding a magnifying glass, in frustration towards Zelda.

"Stop yelling girl!" Robbie shouted back. Zelda took a step back in a bit of surprise. Robbie had never yelled at her like that before. Jerrin, her eyes wide with surprise, turned to her husband.

"Robbie! That's the Princess of Hyrule!" Jerrin said exasperatedly at the sudden change in Robbie's tone. Robbie turned to his wife, his forehead wrinkles more defined from his eyebrows furrowing.

"According to her own words, she isn't anymore," Robbie said, before turning back to Zelda. "Yes, Link is gone. Probably off to handle to Yiga situation. He told you to go to Divine Beast Vah Rudania in order to investigate. He then said go to Rito Village and meet him there."

"You mean to tell me Link went to go take on the Yiga alone!?" Zelda yelled, her eyes dilated with fear. The Yiga had malice now... That was a suicide mission.

"Yes!" Robbie shouted back in brimming anger. "I swear, both of your decision making skills are nonsense!"

"B-both of us?" Zelda asked angrily. "I'm not apart of this plan! That plan is absolute nonsense, I just want Link here with me and okay! I need him with me!"

"Then maybe you should have thought about that before letting your emotions take over!" Robbie said roughly before turning back to the Windcleaver. "Even now, you are allowing your feelings to take over!"

"What are you saying?" Zelda asked, confused as to what Robbie was hinting at. "Link broke his promise! He said he wouldn't ever leave me, and that he would stay by my side!"

"Are you truly only looking at what Link has done?" Robbie asked as he began studying the Windcleaver's scorched blade. "What about you!?"

"Me?" Zelda asked curiously.

"Yes you! Have you already forgotten what transpired between you two today? I heard about the boulder incident." Robbie said. Zelda's eyes flared in anger.

"I cost him his shield! Yes, its a valuable and important shield, but its not worth leaving me behind-!"

"You don't get it!" Robbie said, slamming down his magnifying glass down on the table, clearly unable to focus on the task at hand. "Link doesn't care about the shield!"

Zelda took a step back, now as confused as ever. He wasn't mad about the shield?

"B-But he immediately went to go buy a new one... And he dived in the ocean to try and get it back..." Zelda stammered, losing all previous power her voice had.

"Yes, because it was a valuable shield! He would have done that regardless if you, or himself had dropped it," Robbie said, his frustration piercing Zelda's ears. "Yes he may have been upset about the shield, but do you know what really bothered him. The fact that you didn't listen!"

Robbie jumped off his chair as he faced the much taller princess, pointing a finger at her.

"You almost got both of you killed, simply because of some silly nickname! You were almost crushed by a boulder because you didn't listen to Link when he said stop! That's why he's upset, and that's precisely why he isn't taking you on his little suicide mission! You let your emotions get the best of you," Robbie explained. Zelda, her shattered heart pieces now turning to dust, blinked as she tried to clear the forming water in her eyes.

"Then you support this?" Zelda said quietly. "Link going off and sacrificing himself? He can't handle them all... Even if he is Link..."

"Absolutely not," Robbie said, his voice returning from frustrated to annoyed as he jumped back on his chair and turned to the Windcleaver yet again. "But not for what you think. I think his plan is illogical for two reasons. He doesn't have the Sheikah Slate and he won't kill. The Sheikah Slate, he can manage without and as much as its to his disadvantage, you needed it more than him. But that kind heart of his... As much as he doesn't admit it, he see's the Yiga as hurt Sheikah. He can't bring himself to kill them. It was fine before hand, but now that they have malice... There's a good chance he may die."

"Then I have to go after him!" Zelda said, quickly grabbing the Sheikah Slate. She could make it. The Yiga were in the Gerudo Desert. All she had to do was teleport there-

"And do what?" Robbie asked, without turning back. Zelda stopped the moment before she could touch the screen.

"Stop him of course!" Zelda said. "He can't go! He could die!"

"And if he doesn't go, you could die!" Robbie said, turning back to her yet again. "He didn't leave because he wanted too, he left because he had too. He's a knight, Zelda! It's his duty to protect you!"

"It's not!" Zelda yelled, stamping her foot down. "It's not his duty to protect me! I'm not a Princess! I'm not special!"

"But you're special to him..." Jerrin said, finally speaking up. "I have no right to say why you are. But Miss Zelda, if you think Link is doing this simply because he's a knight, you are mistaken."

"There are larger things at play here," Robbie said solemnly, allowing his nerves for Link to escape into his tone. "If you traveled with Link, even if he simply went to the Divine Beast with you, it would only be a matter of time before they went after you as well. Link had a hard time as is defending us and the lab, something the Yiga cared nothing about. Imagine defending the Yiga's most wanted enemy towards Calamity Ganon... You can't fight, Zelda. Maybe lower and middle tier monsters, but not Yiga with Malice. You need to survive in order to finish what you two have started a hundred years ago, and he is giving you this chance."

"As much as I disagree with Link's decision to leave without saying anything..." Jerrin started. "I do believe he made the only decision he could. He's giving you an opening to use the Sheikah Slate in order to quickly get to the Divine Beast and study what this plan the Ancient Sheikah have for the two of you as he leads the Yiga off course."

"But... What's the point if he dies..?" Zelda asked, her shaky legs giving out as she fell to her knees. Robbie and Jerrin stayed quiet for a moment.

"He still said meet him in Rito Village..." Robbie said quietly as he grabbed his magnifying glass yet again. "He must have a plan. An illogical one, but a plan nonetheless. He is the man that defeated the Calamity. All we can do now is have faith in him."

"But what about me?" Zelda asked quietly. "I... I can't do this alone. I can't fight without him by my side... What if I fail while he's gone?"

"Princess, Link has left you everything you need in the Sheikah Slate," Jerrin said, staring at the saddened girl. "If he didn't have faith in you, he would've told you to stay put somewhere low. He taught you how to fight yes?"

Zelda nodded, wiping the tears from her eyes.

"Then as long as you stay on the path he has given you, then you should have nothing to fear. He said teleport near the a place called the Foothill Stables, and then teleport to Death Mountain. The Yiga usually don't head up there because of the heat."

"As much as I disagree with some of Link's methods, this is the most logical he could come too," Robbie said. "He can't babysit you forever Zelda. There are some things you must do alone. He believes in your strength. I'm sure he would want nothing more than to protect you himself, but he has given you the tools to defend yourself. Your priority should be to not let him down, and continue the quest until he returns."

"If he returns..." Zelda muttered sadly under her breath, She wiped snot away from her nose as she sniffed, rising to her feet. She couldn't help but think back to two months ago, in front of the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab...

But you have to promise me something. Don't do anything reckless, alright?

She had laughed at him before, but thinking back to the boulder and even the guardian she had jumped in to help with on their way to the Domain... She had been a bit reckless, allowing her emotions to take over. All she had to do was talk to him properly, yet she resorted to nothing but cheap hints.

Zelda began to slowly walk towards the staircase, her head hung low as she past the working Robbie and the now researching Jerrin.

"I guess I too broke my promise... I was reckless and almost hurt us both..." Zelda whispered as she made her way up the staircase in order to pack. She had to go. She had to make it to Vah Rudania. Usually adventure would do nothing but excite her, however this did nothing but fill her chest with emptiness.

This time... she was alone.

...

Shorter chapter I know, but I think shorter ones are going to be better for the next few chapters in order to focus in on Link and Zelda's short personal journeys. That okay?
