Hey y'all, old readers and new!

If you're new, howdy! Welcome to Dreaming of Stars, one of the longest fanfics on Ao3! The reason why I posted this work is because today, March 23rd, is the one-year anniversary of Dreaming of Stars, so I wanted to celebrate by doing something different. If you like what you see, Dreaming of Stars is there for you to read. However, it's not beta-read, okay? We die like men, but I don't wanna die a fool due to the quite large amount of typos and unintentional grammatical errors. So as we speak, I'm updating the entire fic that fixes (most) of the typos. I should complete the task within a day or two.

If you're old, then welcome back! Enjoy these alternative endings to Sanji's journey. There will be more endings to be explored, and pretty much most of them end the same way. Thanks for sticking with Dreaming of Stars for a year, because I'm just here writing my ass off.

Chapter 13 [White Belts]

Sanji Inochi

RIIIIIIING!

"SECURITY BREACH! STUDENTS! PLEASE EVACUATE THE BUILDING IN AN ORDERLY FASHION!"

What the?! I thought this school doesn't get those! How the heck did someone get in with all of these Pro Heroes?! My day is getting really bad now!

Like a mob, all of the students rush towards the nearest exit, screaming and yelling. I didn't hear what my friends had to say before our fellow students practically run over us. I didn't have time to react. My body is pushed along with everyone else, but I feel a hand on my wrist and someone yelling my name. I close my eyes and let my savior pull me. Through bodies and tables, they seem endless, I feel the freedom of open space and the sound of our sole footsteps. My eyes slowly open and see Tetsutetsu there. We're out of the cafeteria and in a random hallway. It's the second-year wing.

"Thanks, Tetsutetsu," I say, smiling and looking around. Bad news: I am completely lost. The only place I can navigate is the first-year wing. However, if the design planners aren't sadists, the wing layout should be similar. Knowing U.A. though, it'll be even more confusing for no apparent reason. "So, where do we go?"

Tetsutetsu shrugs and looks around. "Hell if I know. Think we get lucky enough to run into an actual Villain? That's what happened right? A Villain got in?" We start to walk in a random direction, hoping we'll find an exit.

"Maybe, but I hope not," I confess, which makes Tetsutetsu frown a little, "we're not trained to fight an actual Villain. That, and it's illegal to use our Quirks outside of school." Then again, that law doesn't apply to me. I could fight and worry only about an assault charge, not reckless use of a Quirk.

He sighs and looks at his fist. "I know man, I know, but that law is stupid! Don't you have an itch to beat a Villain's face in?" ...I don't, but I'm glad that Tetsutetsu is saving his enthusiasm for that, even though it's kinda violent. Aw, who am I kidding? Bakugo's in this school. He's the most violent one here.

I think we're coming up on the first-year wing.

"Not really. You should save that energy for U.S.J. and Thirteen," I advise him, but Tetsutetsu shakes his head and slams his knuckles together. Well, that advice fell on deaf ears. We're in the teachers' hallway actually. It's close to the first-year wing, so we're getting there.

He shouts for no reason, "Nah, man! I need to punch something! All this talk about Villains and Hero stuff makes me wanna fight! You know what I mean?!" Hmm, how can I unleash Tetsutetsu's energy? If I don't, then he could hurt himself and possibly others. Maybe I could take him to the Dojo and play it by ear. Yeah, that seems like a good idea. Master Kendo wouldn't mind.

"Tetsu—?" Where did he go? He was right in front of me! I turned my head for a brief second, turned back, and he's gone! Aw crap, now I have to find a lost Tetsutetsu. If I know him, he'll be shouting or stomping through the halls.

Plan A: I look back and forth and nope. Tetsutetsu isn't there. Plan B: I walk in the direction of my class. I don't hear any footsteps or voices. It's eerily quiet. The teachers aren't here for some reason. I'd thought at least one would stay behin—

A flash of grey hair appears out of the corner of my eye. It's through the window… inside the teacher's lounge... What is Tetsutetsu doing in there, sneaking around like that? "Tetsutetsu? Why are you in there? You'll get in trouble."

No response.

A feeling of dread sweeps throughout my body. What… What is this feeling? Tetsutetsu can't possibly spring this kind of visceral reaction from my body. He's Tetsutetsu, my friend! He's the straightforward guy who loves fighting and exercising. There's no way he could ever create this kind of dread. It can't be him.

Wherever he is, he isn't inside the teacher's lounge. That leaves just one question…

Who the hell is inside?

I take a step forward.

The dread sweeps again but with more vigor. It finds itself home within my muscles, acting as a preventive force to keep me from going inside. This must be my instinct screaming at me to stop. Don't go any further! I don't know who's inside, but we shouldn't find out!

I need to…

I need to act against it. Normally, with the presence of too many reporters to count, I would assume that one of them is the mysterious intruder. But that's wrong. The true intruder is the one hiding in this room. They have to be a Villain, no doubt about it. The media is just a cover for them to complete whatever their intention is inside this lounge.

What would happen if I walked away knowing this? My friends could get hurt. There's no way in hell that I'll allow that to happen. If I walk away right now, then I'm just as guilty as this Villain. There's a reason why I'm in U.A. after all. I need to act like a Hero, and so help me God, I can't turn a blind eye now.

The dread fades away from my body, melting into resolve. I put my hand on the brass handle—cold. It's cold, but there's someone still inside. Surprisingly enough, the lounge is unlocked. I turn the handle and step onto the soft green carpet. There's an array of couches and lounge chairs, along with counters where I assume snacks are being held captive. No need to think about that. What's more important are the tables, about five meters directly ahead of me. I see papers strewn all over them. Let's say that I'm a Villain and needed to steal information. Those tables would be my best bet.

I take small steps towards them. I—?!

THROW!

A throw pillow being used literally?!

I smack it away with my right arm! No sane person would use this as a weapon, so this has to be a distraction! The Villain is right in front of me about to strike!

DODGE!

I dash a meter to my left, dodging whatever the Villain hits me with! The man—yes, it's a man—wearing a large flowing black cloak with a hood. He's overstepping, his balance is off. I hear him scoffing before he slowly stands himself back up. He turns his head to me and—

"Wha…" It's a pale man with even paler hair. His skin is cracked and dry, but what should worry most is that hand. He has an amputated hand grasping his face, covering most of it. I can see his red eyes striking me between the gaps of the fingers, glaring at me with a killer intent. "Who are you?"

He asks in response, "...Not important. Who are you?" His voice is raspy, but young. He's not that much older than me, I feel.

"Inochi. Sanji Inochi. I won't take 'Not important' as an answer, whoever you are. Give me your name," I snap, looking around the room. The Villain is three meters ahead of me. Within the second, he could dash forward and attack. What's around me? I'm closer to the table. I could reach for a chair or distract him with the papers. If I want to get brave, I could roll over the table and knock it over. Think Sanji! Think!

"Fine," the Villain concedes, scratching his cheek, "Tomura Shigaraki. Though, I don't think a brat like you will remember my name."

Tomura Shigaraki… I'll remember that name.

"Is your Quirk 'Amnesia'?" I jokingly ask. Behind him, the throw pillow is...decaying? It's turning into dust! Is that his Quirk?

Tomura Shigaraki shakes his head. "No. You'd be dead, Sanji Inochi." He—?!

DASH!

He's so fast! He reaches out to me with his right hand, but I dodge again to my right, nearly avoiding getting touched. I hear a groan coming from him. Without hesitation, I lift my right foot up and strike him with a side kick—?!

GRASP!

He grabs my ankle. "Heh."

Then he pushes my leg away. Shigaraki starts to turn around… What the hell is he doing?! "Tomura Shigaraki—?!"

I try to step forward with my right foot, but I nearly fall. I manage to catch myself on the table, using my hand to hold me up. Why can't I step up with my right foot? I know how to walk. I…

—?!

"What…? You…"

My right foot is gone.

It's gone.

My right leg is turning pale, slowly disintegrating before my eyes. I fall on one knee, my only knee that's left. I look back at Shigaraki, who's watching me turn to dust right in front of him. He taunts me, cackling, "You shouldn't have tried to be a Hero, Sanji Inochi!"

I grit my teeth. "Fuck you…"

I reach out to him, but my left leg is starting to disintegrate too. I fall completely onto my chest. Behind that disgusting hand of his, he's smiling… The bastard's smiling… Why is he smiling like that?! I'll wipe that fucking smile off his face!

Tomura Shigaraki! He's turning around! He's walking away! Come back here, damnit! He puts a hand to his ear and says, "Kurogiri, it's done. The coordinates are…"

"Shiga—!" I shout, but my voice dies out before I could finish! Damnit! My legs are gone! They're gone!

"Sorry, that was a little nuisance I had to deal with. Don't worry, he's taken care of. Just take me back," Shigaraki tells whoever the hell this Kurogiri is! A black portal opens up in front of him! God, Kurogiri has a Warping-type Quirk?! That's how he could invade U.A. so easily?! Damnit, I'll tell U.A. myself! I'll tell All Might! Everyone!

I…

Shigaraki walks through the portal and disappears. The portal closes.

He's gone…

"Hah…"

"Haaah…"

"Ahhhh—!"

I scream, but nothing comes out.

"Inochi? Bro, where are you?"

Tetsutetsu! Please come here!

I reach out to the open door with my left hand! I just need him! I need him to save me! Tetsutetsu! C'mon, where are you?!

"Inochi! We're not playing Hide n'Seek aren't we? C'mon! Where are you?"

My left hand starts to decay.

It starts with my fingers down to my knuckles.

I can't feel a thing.

But I'm decaying. I'm fading away…

Is this… Is this how I die…?

The year hasn't started yet…

I can't die now…

I need to save people… I need to be a Hero…

My left arm isn't there anymore.

All my limbs are gone.

I stare at the open doorway and catch a glimpse of Tetsutetsu looking for me. He's shouting, but I can't hear his voice.

Everything looks distant; everything sounds distant.

The world becomes dimmer and dimmer.

And slowly, I disappear.

BAD END: TO THE EARTH

One of the Bad Endings of Dreaming of Stars, where due to Sanji's inability to let a Villain go, he is killed for it. And of course, the Villain was Tomura Shigaraki. If you ask, "Why didn't he choose to not go into the lounge?" Well, at the moment when Sanji realizes that there's *someone* in the teacher's lounge that *isn't supposed to be there*, his fate was sealed upon that realization. There was no way for Sanji to *intentionally ignore* the intruder. If he did, it would go against his morals, so he had to do it.

In the end, he was killed by Tomura Shigaraki, and Sanji Inochi will return To The Earth.
