Story Notes: This is a story of Latias and Latios, and as the subtitle suggests, it is about what would happen if Latios was revived after sacrificing his life. Unlike other stories, this one starts at the very beginning, when Latias was somewhere unknown and Latios had just died (they were mom and dad)and the eggs had become orphaned. During the process of which Ash arrives, I will add a part of when he revives Latios, which will make the story go into its true path. Now, I won't make a story by filling it up with nonsense. Now, ON WITH THE STORY!

Prologue: The Sacrifice
In the Pokemon World, Legendary Pokemons have a specific role in protecting their land. In Alto Mare, a peaceful city in the grasslands of the Johto region was guarded by the legendary Pokemon called Latias and Latios. While not being an all-powerful legendary Pokemon, they still contain enough power to guard against any danger that threatens the city. Since they are Psychic-Dragon Pokemon, which are the top two strongest kinds of Poketypes, they are extremely formidable. Meanwhile, a Latios is seen fighting a giant dark monster, with the help of his mate, Latias.
"You'll never defeat me you puny fools", shouted the Dark monster as it continued to fire shards of darkness into the city. Everything the shard touched, it was also turned dark and evil.
"Oh no," Latios muttered under his breath. Latias! , there is only one way to end this, so you will have to leave!"
"No, anything but that, my Latios! I don't want to die, please, don't leave me! Sobbed Latias, not wanting to lose her only mate for life. She thought of all the times they had together, not wanting to lose having another one.
"Look Latias, I know this is hard for you, but you must go, and hide! We mustn't let this monster take over Alto Mare and steal you and your eggs!
Okay,(sniff), bye Latios, I will miss YOU! Latias already knew what was going to happen. The thought of that just made her heart break. Latios was going to bash into the monster, expending nearly all of his psychic and draconic energy in the process. This process, although very effective, will cause his life in the process.
"Latias, escape while you can" yelled Latios as again, he was hit by another shard of darkness. He grunted, knowing he can't take any more of this.
Latias ran away, far away, crying all the way. "Why? She yelled at the sky. Why does my mate have to die Arceus? Why? A dark crystal zoomed past her, and that was when she took off. She flew far away and stopped at the Southern Islands, never to be seen again.
Meanwhile, Latios was having big troubles. The monster seemed to be seemingly indestructible. So, he resorted to his last thing. "You fool, you have caused massive destruction to me and the city, But you won't anymore!" Latios roared and began his phase. He charged towards the monster, infusing all his energy, life force, and life energy into his move. The move was SafeGuard. He zoomed across the sky, speeding towards his target. Every bit of him was focused on the target, while he was enclosed in shiny blue light. He was speeding at around the speed of Mach 2 until he hit the monster.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
The monster, unable to take the hit, exploded as Latios rammed his SafeGuard into him. The monster collapsed, before exploding into a million dark clouds that dispersed into the air. The dark monster that had threatened Alto Mare, was now gone.
"I did it", Latios whispered, before collapsing. I barely have any energy left. I should go check on the eggs.
The eggs of the future Latias and Latios were located in the hollow of a very large tree. One had a blue triangle, while the other had a red triangle. "Latias and Latios, my future children, please stay safe. Latios faltered again, due to his depleting energy. "And, for your protection, I shall make a place just for you guys. With the last of his powers, he glowed blue-white again, before disappearing in a blue flash. When the flash cleared, there was a beautiful garden, that is now known as the Secret Garden, with an illusion no Pokemon can get past. Latios had risked his life in the process, so what stood in his spot was a fountain above a pond, with his remains, the Soul Dew in it.
The Latios had done one other thing before he died. He expanded his powers to move the seas, and now, Alto Mare was about to change. In the distance, the water moved. It is then charged towards Alto Mare, except the water is seemingly controlled. The water comes as a huge flat sheet, crashing into Alto Mare, and flooding the streets. Alto Mare, whose streets have now seemingly turned into canals, will be known as the City of Water, and a popular tourist attraction.
Two people were on the shore that had watched the entire incident. One was a tall man, while the other was a child. The Father finally spoke and said, "Latias and Latios, were the ones that saved us. It is our job to protect their next-generation".
"Yes, Daddy!" shouted the child. The child's name was Lorenzo.
A/N Notes: Uggh, I don't know why it sounds so bad. Well, the next chapter is gonna be better than this one, I hope! Remember, tell me how you like this story! Now, Let's get to work. Hehe.

Chapter 1: Latios Hatches
A/N: As the title suggests, Yes!, it's the first chapter of the story. I feel so proud, and yes, it is also about Latios hatches. I'm gonna find a picture of Latios hatching to put at the end of the story, just be patient. Now, this story is gonna be heartwarming, and a little sad, so, ON WITH THE STORY!
It was a beautiful day in Alto Mare. The birds are chirping, the water is rippling, and in a pretty house, was a beautiful house, with two people, a parent, and a child, standing on the porch.
"Ahh, what a sunny day it is". The Dad said, lazily lounging on his chair.
"Yep, nothing could get better than This!" said the child, whose name was Lorenzo. He was busy sucking on a popsicle.
"Or maybe it can, said the Dad, chuckling mysteriously. I'll take you to a place that is filled with hopes and dreams, as long as you keep it secret, Okay!"
"Oh, Okay Dad"
"I wonder where Dad is taking me," The child wondered. He hoped it would be as good as it was about 2 years ago when he finally got his first gondola.
"Let's go, Lorenzo, I'm taking you to a place you have never been before".
"Dad! This city is full of surprises! It's literally like a maze! I wouldn't be surprised if you gave me a tour and half of the things I didn't know".
"That's right son! When I first arrived in the city, I was wondering why it wasn't called the City of Maze!"
"Let's go, son, the place we're going to is over here…."
The father led Lorenzo across the windiest place in Alto Mare. He made sure that nobody was following or spying on them. After about 5 minutes of running, they have arrived at the site.
They stopped at a turn in the maze, which led to a place with a tunnel. The tunnel was filled with vines and beautiful plants.
"Daddy, why are we here, and what is this beautiful place?"
"Why it leads to a place that I am going to show you, and it is just beyond that wall".
"That wall? How can something be behind that wall? It looks pretty solid!"
"Well, why don't you try yourself", said the Dad, with a bit of cheerfulness in his voice.
The child walked up to the wall and tried to touch it. But his fingers went right through the wall like it was nothing!
"What happened?"
"Well son, this isn't a wall, merely an illusion that leads to a tunnel?"
"What"
"You can walk through it if you want"
The child was mesmerized by this and didn't believe the Dad at first. But when he saw how serious his Dad was right now, he decided to give him a chance. He turned to walk towards the wall and disappeared into a tunnel with a flash of beautiful light.
"Dad?"
"I'm right here next to you, son. Keep walking forward"
"Okay"
The child and the father continued walking forward, before arriving at a large stone porch.
"What is this place?" "This my child is the Secret Garden, the home of Latias and Latios.""You mean, the ones that protected the city? I thought they were dead."
"Well yes, the father is dead, and the mother ran away. I don't think we'll ever see her again. But they did leave something behind. They left us their eggs that contain their children. I was with friends with Latios, and the day that tragedy struck, the moment he died, he asked me"
"You have been a great caretaker and protector of us. However, when I die protecting the city the eggs will be all that will be left of us. Please take care of the eggs and be there when they hatch. It's the only way we can continue the legendary Lati generations. Please take care of our Latias and Latios, help them grow up, and you will be known in the Pokemon World, as the Legendary Savior". Bye, and save my best wishes for my children."
"So, the eggs have been here. Every day that you have fallen asleep, I have gone to this place. I came to check on the eggs to make sure they are safe and healthy."
"Ohh, but Daddy, what is this place called?"
"Well my son, this place is called the Secret Gardens, and once I passed away, it'll be your job to keep it a secret, and to protect the hatched Latias and Latios.
"Okay Dad, I'll do my best!" smiled the child cheerfully. He wondered what the hatchlings will be looked like.
He remembered what the adults looked like. Tall majestic figures rose above them. The male was 8 feet and 7 inches tall while the female was 6 feet and 7 inches tall. The Latis looked like a sleek jet plane and could fly with ease. The male was light blue with a red triangle. He was very streamlined and was very large. The female, meanwhile, had a rounder and large belly, a dark red, with a dark blue triangle. She had looked a bit adorable, yet still looked a lot like her brother.
"The reason that I have bought you here, is that today, one of the eggs will be hatching. And of course, like the last generation, it will be Latios that hatches first"
"Really? Ohh, I can't wait! Where are the eggs?"
"They're over here" pointed the father to a very large tree near the edge of a very large pool.
"Inside in at the base of the tree, there is a large hole. And inside it, are the eggs of Latias and Latios"
"Really? Ohh, can I see it?"
"Yes, but you must approach it gently, so we don't disturb it."
They moved slowly towards the bottom of the tree, with the large hole at the bottom. The bottom contained a very comfortable nest with 2 eggs. The egg that was larger shook.
"Oh Daddy, is the egg hatching"
"Yes my child, it seems that it is"
The large blue egg shook, and shook some more, and was beginning to hatch.
(Latios's POV)+pokespeech
"Ugh, this egg is stuffy. I really need to get out of here. Now how to get out… Aha. I see that this eggshell is very thin. Maybe if I just hit it…"
Latios banged his head on the egg's shell and found that it broke rather easily. He kept repeating the process until a large hole formed.
"Finally, freedom! I wonder what is on the outside of this egg…"
(Third POV)
"The egg, it's hatching! WOW!
"Yep, it looks like Latios is ready to come out now.
"Yes, I get to see what he looks like!
"Yep, you sure do lucky boy".
The egg cracked, shook, and cracked some more, before it broke apart altogether.
(Latios's POV)+pokespeech
"Yes, I finally broke out of this stuffy egg. I wonder what is outside. Latios peered outside, nervous about what the outer side world looks like.
"Hello? Mom? Dad? Anyone there?
Just as Latios was about to burst into tears when he realized his parents weren't here, he saw two strange looking Pokemon.
"Who are you? And why don't you look like me? What do you want from me?" Latios asked angrily. He was both scared and terrified.
"What did these two weird looking thugs want?" Latios thought to himself.
(Third POV)
"Awwwwww, baby Latios is so cute" cried the little child as he went to check the features of the baby Latios.
The baby Latios was very similar to the adults, except had a cuter, rounder, and a more babyish face. Its wings were floppy as they weren't used yet and wasn't hardened by the blood flow yet. Its wings were also stouter and much shorter plus wider. It had a very bright color of blue, and its ears were very small. The baby was very chubby, and had cute little shrieks, trills, and chirps to get their attention. But, the baby right now seemed very angry.
"Dad, why does the baby look so angry"
"Hmm, let me try to talk to it, and try to figure out the problem."
"Wait, you can talk to Pokemon, Dad? That's awesome!"
"No, my body. I can speak the Lati language, as a gift transferred by this Lati's Dad. Latios, what's the problem?
Latios: "What are you doing here, and what do you want from me? Don't say that you're my Dad, because you certainly aren't!"
"Well, Latios, your Dad is out there somewhere, getting food for you. He will come back soon, I promise. Your Mom is also helping him. They left us, humans, in charge of watching over you."
"Hmmph, well I don't trust you"
"If your parents trust us, then you should trust us too."
"Okay"
"So, Latios, what do you want from us?"
"I want food, and I want to be cleaned!"
"Dad, umm, why didn't you tell him that…."
"Shhh, son, if Latios finds out that his Dad died, and his mother ran away, he'll be seriously traumatized for the rest of his life. Remembers, he is a newly hatched hatchling, something like that will cause him on the road to suicide if Lati's can kill themselves. He is a baby, so we must be gentle. We must satisfy his wants and needs. Right now, he wants to be fed and bathed, so fed and bathe him it is."
"Okay Dad, umm, how do we do that"
"Let me handle him, and you can watch"
"Dad, why can't I help you?
"Lorenzo! Latios is a tiny, delicate baby! We must handle him with the utmost care."
"Okay Dad, sorry for asking"
Lorenzo's Dad went to Latios but Latios shrank back
"Latios. Don't be shy, c'mon out of your eggshell"
"No, I don't want to be touched!"
"Latios, c'mon, you can't stay in your egg forever"
When Lorenzo's Dad tried to grab Latios, he quickly shrank his hank back as Latios almost bit him.
"C'mon Latios, you said you wanted a bath and some food. You can't get any of those things if you don't agree.."
"Fine, you can bathe and wash me. But once my parents come back, you are to hand me over to them, Okay!"
"Woah, tough one huh? Okay Latios, let's bathe and feed you"
Lorenzo's Dad went over to Latios and scooped him out of the eggshell.
"So, Latios, what do you want to do with the eggshell? It's yours anyway"
"I want to keep it in that nest. It'' be a great memory."
Lorenzo's Dad walked away from the nest and moved towards the pool. He carefully took Latios and put him in the pool. Lorenzo's Dad found that Latios could actually float in the water.
"Ahh, I see that you can float Latios. That makes things so much easier"
Lorenzo's dad proceeded to clean Latios. Being careful with Latios's delicate body and wings, he carefully washed him and made sure to clean off any remains of the egg. Latios sighed in pleasure. Lorenzo's dad saw that and continued to wash in the same soft motion.
"So, you like how I wash you huh?"
"Yes, it feels so nice."
In a few minute's time, Latios was cleaned. His feathers were back in place, and he was looking like a proper Lati. Now it was time to feed him. This was what worried Lorenzo's Dad. He knew the baby Lati needed milk, but he didn't know where to get it. He soon had a memory of Latios speaking to him of something.
"When the Lati's hatch, they will need our milk. But of course, we won't be there, so we figured out a solution. I will have a talk with Arceus when I arrive in heaven. Near in the way back of The Secret Garden, there will be a machine with a baby bottle made especially for the Eon Twins. Fill the bottle and feed it to Latios whenever he needs it, which will be every few hours. Now for how to take care of Latios….."
Lorenzo's Dad already knew how to take care of Latios, so he left Lorenzo to watch over Latios, which was very hard, as Latios refused to be with the child, and set off to found the machine. He soon found it to be in the very far end of The Secret Garden and found the machine to be a water cooler, just with milk in it. He found the baby bottle, which was about 1 ¾ times the size of a regular baby bottle, filled it, and went off to feed Latios.
"Ohh Latios, you wanted to be fed right?"
"Yes, where is my milk? Because I am desperately hungry, and this here strange child of you Pokemon won't keep me entertained!"
"Hehe, first of all, we aren't Pokemon, we're humans, so that means we don't have any powers like you guys. And, I told my child not to entertain you as he might get you hurt"
"Hmmph, good riddance"
"Well, anyway here's your milk"
Lorenzo's Dad took out a baby bottle, which confused Latios, before explaining what it's for. Latios was a bit skeptical and a bit afraid at first, but when Lorenzo´s Dad explained it a bit more, Latios was willing to try it. He gently sucked on the bottle and found that it squirted out milk. He repeated the same process until he was full.
"I see you like the baby bottle huh"
"Yes", Latios cooed
"Well, Latios it's time for you to go to sleep. I can see that you are very tired today."
Lorenzo sang a soft lullaby that was made for the Lati, and Latios fell asleep, with sweet dreams.
A/N: Finally! I have finished Chapter 1. I hope it was very sweet for you. Okay, so the next chapters will basically be short stories with Latios maturing in them. There will be a big chapter when Latias hatches but that's happening soon. Have fun, and stay safe from Covid-19.
