"So what now then. It's your plan little badger." Vlad spoke.
"Now we wait on skulker." Danny said simply
Chapter 19: Plans In Motion
The next morning, the police had sent reports on their current knowledge to vlad's residence. Danny went through it all and about an hour after it's arrival he received a phone call.
"Hello?" Danny asked.
"Daniel, it's detective Morris and my partner Carrie. We've sent over the details as you requested." The man spoke.
"I see that, however, there's nothing to go off of. I'd say judging by the secluded area and large lack of tangible evidence, it's probably the work of a ghost. Though I don't believe them to have killed anyone previously so why have they started doing so now?" Danny said faking a confused, yet very convincing tone.
"We hadn't thought about the possibility of a ghost having committed an act of this caliber. Are you sure that's even possible for them?" The officer asked.
"They literally turned the town into walking zombie plant people...surely murder isn't beneath them." Danny deadpanned.
"Well that's true..." the female officer spoke.
"Put out an announcement. Something along the lines of 'as we investigate this matter further, police have now turned toward investigating ghosts as possible suspects, due to the evidence, or rather lack there of.' Or something. This should give us a chance to see if anyone comes forward or not. I'd imagine someone who commits something this flashy wants to be seen, and would want people to know this was their work, rather than have someone take the credit. Just speculation of course." Daniel spoke calmly and carefully, making sure to stay collected and level headed.
"Your quite the detective aren't you kid?" The female officer joked over the phone.
"I tend to use my brain, yes." Came the simple reply.
The other end was met with silence.
"Alright well...we'll get that announcement out.." with that Morris hung up.
Daniel sighed as he disconnected on his end. This was far too much work. He spun around in his chair.
"You make this look easy.." the raven sighed.
Vlad laughed.
"Of course it isn't easy Daniel. Nothing ever simple when you live as we do."
"Doesn't mean it's any less annoying."
"Well we still have bigger problems little badger. Like your ex parents and friends turned vengeful ghosts." Vlad pointed out.
"Ugh, don't remind me!" That was the one thing he didn't wanna deal with right now.
If danny could just trap them all in the Fenton thermos he would. Sadly he only had one.
"If only I could get walker to keep them under his lock and key.." He paused before grinning.
"Your friends with walker right?"
"I do business with him nothing more. What of it?" Vlad asked intrigued.
"Think you could call in one of your favours?"
"Your a devious one aren't you little badger?"
Vlad got up from his own chair and went to make the arrangements. With those four out of the way danny could just live life as he pleased. He'd finally have some damn peace and quiet. His thoughts were interrupted by the news playing from the screen he had been watching.
"The ongoing investigations into the two mysterious deaths and two local missing teenagers have been brought to a staggering halt. The bodies have been identified as the two missing teenagers Samantha Manson and Tucker Foley. As for the ongoing search for their killer, no evidence has been found as of yet. Local authorities now suspect a ghost may be to blame. Stay tuned." The screen went back to programmed television after that.
"They finally identified them huh? You'd think two teenagers ghosts running around claiming to be them would tip someone off." The raven laughed amused.
"Details for a later date I suppose." He sighed.
He got up and headed to the park to meet up with the A-listers. Skulker's announcement was bound to be entertaining to say the least, and the group wanted to meet, so what better way to satisfy both ends of the rope then with front row seats? They met up at the park in the centre of the town.
"Hey!" Qwan called out from the bleachers.
Danny gave a simple wave and sat between Kwan and dash, Paulina in the bleacher above the boys sitting with star. The raven haired girl was filing her nails into that perfect pink almond shape she always maintained.
"I was thinking of a party." She said not bothering to look up from her nails.
"For what?" Danny asked.
"Who needs a reason to party!?" Star said matter of factly as she looked at Danny like he had two heads.
He rolled his eyes. Of course they'd be the type to party when their parents were out of town. He supposed he couldn't say much though as it was their houses and their lives.
"Obviously it's invite only. Plus ones must be approved ahead of time." Paulina put the file down and blew on her nails to get rid of any dust before holding her hand out for the clear coat nail polish star was holding.
"Maybe we should wait?" Kwan said nervously.
"There's still a killer running around..."
Danny let out a small chuckle.
"It'll be fine. For all we know it might loosen up some of the tension." He was trying to sound like he was reasoning but he honestly couldn't care either way.
"Exactly!" Paulina squealed in delight with Danny's agreeable attitude as she finished applying the polish.
"Besides," Paulina started as her nails dried.
"It's not like some psycho is going to walk into a high school party. I have security for that" she examined her nails for any imperfections as she said so.
"If you say-" the line was cut off by a nearby explosion and Danny grinned.
Of course he made sure he wasn't being watched before he smothered the grin with confusion.
"What was that!?" Dash yelled getting up fast.
"Probably just another ghost" Danny shrugged.
Ghosts were normal in amity park by now so no one would be surprised or question his lack of concern especially as they were far enough away from the ghost itself.
"Ya probably." Star agreed.
They all gathered at Kwan's since his house was closest and turned the news on.
"Yep. Another ghost." Danny yawned while skulked rambled on about his hunting.
What caught everyone's attention was when he yelled about changing his mind about the ghost boy after finishing his comrades.
"I will leave you to wallow in your pity over my great triumph!" He yelled before disappearing again.
Daniel received a text from vlad that's killers little diversion was a success and that walker had taken care of their little 'ghost problem'.
"Finally" Danny thought with a sigh.
The weeks that followed were quiet. The buzz around the ghost teens and their accusations had died down shortly after the skulker incident, however planned that was. Though those who paid attention to Sam and tucker didn't forget them they had moved on with those who had. As Danny sat down to lunch those weeks after he was content in his peace and quiet. It was a Friday and he grinned looking at Paulina.
"So...About that party..."
