They played a few games after their parents went to bed. Harry and Ron were still there and Fred got more and more frustrated that he couldn't be near her. When he got back from the bathroom George was sitting in his place leaving a spot open next to Hermione. He looked over at his twin who was grinning at him. He smiled back and dropped down next to Hermione, scooting close enough so their legs were touching. She smiled up at him before she turned her gaze back to the game of Clue.
"Hermione." Harry said carefully. "I saw Sam last week."
"Oh." Hermione said surprised as she felt Fred stiffen next to her. "How is he."
"He's been good I think. He wants to talk to you though."
"Why does he want to talk to Hermione?" Fred asked defiantly. Hermione grazed his leg with hers trying to reassure him.
"I don't know." Harry looked at Fred frowning and turned back to Hermione. "What are you going to do?"
"I don't know. I leave for Romania tomorrow and even not I don't know what he wants to talk about. I haven't heard from him since the end of July."
"She doesn't have to talk to him if she doesn't want to." Ginny chimed in.
"No I know but I just thought I tell her." Harry said taking aback.
"Thanks for telling me Harry. But it's getting late. I think I'll better get going." She slowly rises from the sofa.
"Yeah let's go Mione." Ginny got up next to her and locked their arms together and walked to the fireplace. "Goodnight boys."
Hermione's gaze found Fred's and gave him a quick wink before disappearing in a green flame when Ginny called out Hermione's flat. Once arrived at her flat Hermione said goodbye to Ginny and flood over to the twins flat. When she stepped out Fred was waiting for her. He held out his hand and she gladly took it. He pulled her close and wrapped himself around her.
"Finally." He sighed before claiming her lips. She hummed in agreement as they broke the kiss. She looked around the room.
"Where is George?"
"He told Angelina he stop by after her shift."
"So we have the whole place to ourselves?" He smiled sweetly at him as she trailed her hands over his chest.
"Not really. Charlie is in George's room but I have another plan."
"Oooh. What might that be?"
"You trust me?"
"Always."
"Hold on tight." She wrapped her arms around him as he apparated them of the room. She opened her eyes and she was standing in the backroom of the Hogsmeade shop.
"What are we doing here?"
"We didn't get to finish our tour this morning." He pulled her to the stairs and walked up.
"Oh your flat."
"Hopefully our flat one day." He said as they reached the landing. She leaned forward, looking up.
"I hope so too." Fred turned the doorknob and led her in. "You've been decorating already!"
The living room was decorated with rustic furniture with beige walls. On a large white cabinet on the right were several photographs of his family spread out.
"This place look amazing!"
"Thanks. Come, let me show you the rest." He showed her the rest of the flat before taking her out the balcony. She shivered from the cold air and Fred quickly shed himself from his coat and draped in over her shoulders. She smiled at him before her gaze found the sky. Hermione's gasped as she saw the sky filled with bright stars.
"This isn't the best part."
"It isn't?
"Nope. Come on." He intertwined his fingers with hers and led her down the stairs. They arrived in the big backyard and he walked her over to the edge between the trees.
"Look." He stood behind her and pointed in front of him before his arms wrapped around his waist.
Her mouth fell open as she saw the castle surrounded by the stars as it lit up by the moon.
"Oh my – Fred this is absolutely breathtaking." He hummed as he planted a kiss on her neck. He pulled back and transfigured them a double lounge chair they could lie on. He guided her down as she was still looking at the view. She laid down and he pulled her close.
"I love you Freddie." She sighed happy. He reached out and with his finger on her chin he made her look at him.
"I love you too. I could really see us living here."
"Me too."
And they leaned towards each other at the same time and kissed like their lives depended on it. Hermione pushed herself up on him until she was straddling him. Her hands started unbuttoning his shirt while she left kisses on his neck, collarbone and trailing down with each button she popped open. When the last button button was undone she trailed her fingers over his tight abdomen. His eyes grew darker with desire and he reached over her shoulders and pushed down his coat.
His hands slide down her arms and rested on her hips, playing with the hem of her shirt before pulling it over her head. Hermione sat there, straddling him in her bra her big brown eyes staring down at him. He pushed himself up and started trailing kisses on her collarbone before taking the straps of her bra and pulling them down revealing her breasts. He took in a deep breath as he took her in.
This time it was slow, passionate, full of love.
They were wrapped in each others embrace covered under a warm blanket and slept in the garden until the sun started to rise.
"Morning gorgeous." He smiled as she stirred under him.
"Morning love. What time is it?" She pushed herself slightly up.
"Almost 9." He said glancing at his watch.
"Better get dressed. Charlie and I have and appointment with Kingsley at ten."
"Oh right. Forgot about that."
"It won't take to long. I'll be back before noon." She kissed him and she reached for her clothes.
Charlie and Hermione reached Kingsley's office and knocked on his door.
"Come in."
Charlie opened the door and stepped aside to let Hermione in first. The room was bright and in front of them was a dark brown desk full of papers. Kingsley smiled as the pair entered.
"Hermione, Charlie. Please sit." He gestured to the seat in front of him. They sat down and looked at each other before turning to Kingsley.
"Good morning Kingsley."
"I have an idea why you guys are here." He waved their letter in the air. "I'm sorry if I haven't responded but we had an issue with the owl post. The letter reached me a couple of days ago. So I didn't have a lot of time to look into it."
"That's okay. We can fill you in." Hermione smiled and she launched into her story, Charlie chiming in when needed. Kingsley was writing down notes on a piece of parchment throughout the story. When they finished Kingsley looked up and smiled.
"Ok there are a few things we can start with. I have a meeting with the minister of France at the end of the week. I will discuss it with him and I'll make an appointment with the minister of Romania, hopefully it can be on the same day. We can discuss the laws and punishment from magical creatures traffickers. And there is a second thing we actually have been working on since you guys broke out of Gringotts. And I think it will be interesting for the both of you. We are trying to open a reserve in Wales. If everything works out we could start at the start of the new year."
Hermione gasped as she looked over at Charlie, who looked as someone slapped him in the face, his mouth open in shock.
"Are you serious?" He chocked out. He grabbed her hand, his eyes still focused on Kingsley.
"Yes I am. And I actually wanted to ask you to lead the reserve Charlie." If Charlie wasn't seated he would have crumbled to the ground. "And Hermione I heard what a great job you are doing in Romania. Not only as a healer but your work with the dragons."
"I've been learning to take care of them the last couple of months. Learning how to approach them, heal them. How do you know that?"
"I have my resources." He smiled kindly at her. "So if you want you can have a place right besides Charlie."
Now it was her turn to let her mouth fall open. She felt Charlie squeeze her hand, she looked over at him and saw him smiling wide at him. She smiled back before turning to Kingsley.
"I would love that! But when do you know for sure the reserve will open? Because I don't think me or Charlie wants to tell the family if it fell through."
"I understand that. We will know for sure in two weeks time. The moment the decision is final I'll let you two know. And if everything works out you'll work at the reserve of course but sometimes you'll have to travel to retrieve or rescue a dragon."
"We can do that, right Charlie."
"Yes." He breathed out.
"Or do you want to stay in Romania?" She asked uncertain.
"No. I mean I'll miss Romania for sure but if I can work with dragons and still be near my family I'll diffidently move back."
"And it's not like you're never going back. You'll have direct contact with the multiple reserves around Europe."
Charlie and Hermione looked at each other grinning.
"If everything turns alright we would love to work at the reserve in wales." Charlie said to Kingsley who beamed at the to of them.
"Ok. I'll let you know how my meetings go with the ministers."
"Thank you Kingsley." Hermione walked around the desk and hugged him tight. Kingsley patted her back softly and pulled away.
"My pleasure. I'll talk to both of you soon." Kingsley shook Charlie's hand before they left his office. When the door closed behind them they looked at each other and fell into each other arms laughing. A few happy tears fell down her cheeks as they pulled apart. They were grinning wide at each other as they made their way to the lift.
"I can't believe it."
"Me neither but maybe we don't tell anyone until we are certain." Charlie said as the walked in the lift.
"No you're right. I will be hard not to say anything to Fred but we are leaving tonight so I'll have don't have to lie to him long."
"You don't have to lie to him. Just tell him about the ministers and the progress that Kingsley is trying to make."
"You're right. We tell him that and hopefully the next time we see each other we can be the bearer of good news."
"Godric I hope so. After the war it was hard to leave again."
"I get it. I've seen your family struggle after you left. And after nearly losing Fred.."
"Ok so rules. We don't get to excited or to negative until we heard from Kingsley. And no telling anyone. Deal?" He held out his hand.
"Deal!" She shook his hand firmly and they stepped out the lift together.
"Fancy a brunch?"
"Yes. I was so nervous this morning I didn't eat. I'm starving."
"Excellent me too." He grinned and offered her arm as they walked out on the street.
