Chapter 13

Skye woke up sweaty and panting another nightmare, she rubbed her face and looked at the clock, it was only 4:30 am. Her head was pounding but knew she wouldn't get any more sleep. She showered quickly before putting on her workout clothes and running shoes, walking down to the kitchen she started to search for some Aleve for her head. On her third cabinet she started to curse before she heard a laugh behind her spinning around jumping, she found Steve on one of the stools watching her.

"Don't scare me like that" she said glaring at him,

"Fourth drawer on the right is where the Aleve is" he finally said, ignoring her death look. After chugging some water to wash down the pills she looked back at Steve,

"Why are you up early Cap? Thought you would actually sleep in here" she said rubbing her temples,

"Old habits I guess, do you want to go on a run or is your head going to explode?" he teased and she just narrowed her eyes at him,

"Well now I have to go on a run, can't prove you right," she said, drinking some more water before walking out the door, Steve following. He got her to do 4 miles this morning before they went to the training room it was 5:30 already so she knew she only had 30 minutes before training with Natasha started she turned to Steve,

"Tai Chi?" she asked him and he nodded, they both started perfectly in sync when Natasha walked in.

"I was hoping you'd be late this morning," she said in way of greeting, Skye just glared at her,

"Is that why you challenged me to the shots last night hoping I would be too hungover to get up on time?" Natasha grinned.

"Maybe" Skye laughed,

"Well that is just rude, but didn't work in your favor" Natasha just shrugged looking between Steve and Skye.

"Maybe I had other motives" Skye looked at her confused as Steve blushed a little.

"Well seeing that you are already warmed up let's see what you got," Natasha said getting into the ring Skye followed loosening up her arms and legs.

"We will start with basic defense moves, and move up from there, sound good?" Skye nodded and got into her fighting stance. After a few rounds, Natasha decided to have them break for some water. Steve handed them both some water bottles as they sat and stretched on the floor.

"You are a lot better than I thought" Natasha commented, Skye smiled,

"I've had a lot of training and experience" Steve raised his brow at that, Skye shrugged.

"You guys weren't the only ones fighting off Hydra when everything went to shit, we had someone on our team betray us" before she could say anymore Natasha interrupted

"We know about Grant Ward, how he trained you for a while and then betrayed you and I think kidnapped you twice?" Skye was taken back for a moment she didn't realize they knew.

"Yea twice, and even though he was a traitor he was a good SO" Skye took a drink of water trying not to reflect too much on the memories of Ward. Natasha and Steve glanced at each other without her noticing.

"I get it, but you are a lot further along than I expedited which is good because that means you are mission ready." Skye smiled at that letting Steve help her up,

"Wanna go a couple rounds old man?" Skye asked him mischief dancing in her eyes. Steve just put up his hands backing away,

"Next time I do have my own training to get to, so if you will excuse me ladies" he walked away and started to wrap his hands to do some bag work.

"I know you have powers, do you train with them as well?" Nat questioned making Skye focus back on her.

"When I was at the cabin I did a little with Steve but mostly just on the lake"

"Have you ever thought about using them in your combat fighting? It could give you a huge advantage" Skye thought about it but shook her head,

"I have thought about it but during training what happens if I accidentally go too far and someone gets hurt?"

"Well we can have you practice with Tony in his suit that way you can't do too much damage, or even with Steve it would be pretty hard to hurt him with his super strength, just think about it." Nat smiled at Skye before they both left to go shower and get ready for the rest of the day.

Skye took the rest of the day to walk around the compound and spend time with Natasha and Clint. They showed her the movie room, lap pool, and formal common area which they explained where Tony has all his parties when he allows people at the compound.

Skye went into the kitchen and started to make some food when she sensed someone behind her, she slowly turned around to see Wanda walk in with Vision she smiled at them.

"You guys hungry I can make you guys something to eat?" Skye asked and Wanda smiled at her,

"That would be great if you don't mind," Wanda said and Skye got out some more food to make some sandwiches for them she looked to Vision brows raised.

"I don't actually eat food," he said and Skye just grinned at him almost laughing, of course, she almost forgot he was a robot pretty much.

Skye sat down with Wanda and Vision peppering him with questions about his form and what he remembers when he was created.

Tony was back in the lab waiting for the results to come in. They were almost finished and he was starting to pace. Steve finally tracked him down in the lab bringing him a sandwich he asked Skye to make since she was more than happy to make everyone lunch, he knew Tony probably wasn't thinking straight. Steve set down the food and watched as Tony paced trying to keep his mind busy.

"Tony you really need to eat something or drink some water instead of coffee" Steve sat down pushing the plate toward him, Tony just nodded but still paced.

"What if she is my daughter, what if I was lied to" Tony started thinking out loud and Steve double-checked to make sure the door was closed and it was secure.

"Do you want it to be true?" Steve asked him and Tony froze at that finally looking at him,

"More than anything honestly" he took a breath and looked at the food,

"Thanks for the sandwich" he added and Steve smiled.

"You can actually thank Skye for that because she wanted to make everyone lunch. I told her you would be in the lab though and offered to take it to you" Tony just nodded again taking a bite and finally sitting down. Steve and Tony sat in silence for about 5 minutes before his computer started to beep Tony shot to his feet going toward it. Steve stood up as well,

"Tony? What does it say?" He asked, crossing his arms he saw Tony cover his mouth, eyes light.

"She's my daughter, it's a perfect match"

DADDY STARK FINALLY! YAY I know a couple of you have been asking if this is going to be a SkyexSteve story or match but I am not having her get with anyone I want to focus on the news with her first Steve right now is just trying to be a gentleman and good friend :) I am always open to suggestions also!
