After a year apart, the Winchester's reconnect. Dean was in Purgatory, Sam was settled down, and Maddi continued hunting. The prophet, Kevin, was in the clutches of Crowley and narrowly escaped. The Winchesters find out that Kevin has a new tablet, one that is supposed to have the instructions for how to close the Gates of Hell.

"Where are we headed?" Cas asks, putting an end to what, if their circumstances where different, Dean would have called a comfortable silence. "McConaughy Lake. I haven't seen the sea in forever, but it'd be like a two-day drive, so I figured this was the second-best thing."

They needed their help, desperately so. But Dean was reluctant. He found them annoying, complete amateurs waiting to be killed on the field. Unfortunately, the pushy one, or just Santana Lopez, demands their attention. Her fiancée was missing, and she intended to find her, and it seemed the best way to do so was come into contact with the Winchester boys, even if Dean disagreed.

Sam, Dean, Mary, and Cas have moved on to season two and all the fresh hell (pun completely intended) that entails. And because the SPN family is what it is, let's go back down that painful memory lane with them.

How was John supposed to know the teddy bear was haunted? Well, it was and now Sam has a teddy bear with a spirit attached to it, a spirit that's more motherly caretaker than vengeful. Pre-series, doesn't quite follow canon rules.
