Loki is returned to Asgard to face Odin's punishment. However, his violence at being unable to speak in his defense causes Odin to turn him into a child. After all, it's much easier to take a child to torture than an adult. When thor finds out he feels obligated to help Loki and get him out of Asgard. Hoping his friends will help him protect Loki and not turn him over to Shield.
