At last we're back to Pride And Prejudice, apologies for the wait. Was going through a stressful time.
CandyLuv99; I appreciate you sticking with the story since the beginning. As for Kiara and the Pridelands, things aren't over just yet.
Here's the long awaited chapter of Pride And Prejudice, enjoy!
It's been twelve days since Kiara left and acting-Queen Sherise couldn't understand how her sister did it. Being queen with all the responsibilities, was a exhausting and very demanding.
But it's something she must do. It was her duty as a princess and as Queen-Command.
Sherise sat at the peak watching as Eshani lead a morning party. Unfortunately her peaceful moment was thawed as a familiar voice reached her ears.
"Must be nice.. to be in charge."
Sherise sighed before turning to her face the creamy brown lioness. "What can I help you with, Felisa?"
Felisa laughed before smirking. "Don't fret dear sister-in-law.. I came to congratulate you. My nephew is shaping in a handsome cub. Must take after his father."
Sherise frowned before dipping her head in thanks. "Thanks.. I guess.. Though you're late as your neice and nephew is almost a month."
Felisa chuckled. "Let me be clear. I was speaking about Luis."
Sherise's purple eyes widened before she bared her teeth. "Shut your muzzle! Loki is Jesús' and I appreciate you don't go throwing your ideas around!"
Felisa rolled her blue eyes before grinning. "Of course he is. After all.. he is my brother's step-son."
Sherise growled but before she could lash out Zara flew over and landed in front of the dark brown lioness.
"My queen, Queen Kiara has returned!"
...
In the Lion Guard lair Kiara was resting on a ledge while she told what she experienced.
"So.. it's over?" Kovu asked with fear in his green eyes.
"No.." Kopa shook his head. "Not yet. We'll let them think they got us but we'll find a way out of this."
Kiara sat up and dismissed everyone but Sherise. After a moment the gold lioness turned her worned eyes on the dark brown lioness. "How have been things since I been gone?"
Sherise frowned. "I didn't want to say anything but we may have a problem.."
~PP~
A month passed and the royal cubs were growing very nicely. The princesses and prince were very friendly cubs who enjoyed talking with the other cubs of the pride.
Princess Sisu and Prince Loki especailly enjoyed talking with their cousin, Taka but they had to make sure that Minos wasn't around when they did.
Same with their cousin Rey, Felisa's son. It didn't surprise many when Felisa disappeared for a few months but when she came back with a gold cub not much before Sisu and Loki were born, everyone wondered who fathered her son.
Sisu and Loki didn't especaily like their Aunt Felisa. The creamy brown lioness was always giving Loki strange looks. Almost like she hated him or something and they didn't understand why.
On one particular day Felisa was out hunting with the other lionesses. This gave Sisu and Loki a chance to talk with Rey.
"Hey Rey," Loki said running over to the older gold cub with his sister following.
"Oh hey Loki, hey Sisu." Rey said with a smile. "What are you guys doin'?"
"Nothin'," Loki replied. "Just being really bored."
Sisu lowered her head and pinned her ears against her head with a frown. "Really bored, it sucks."
Rey chuckled before ruffiing up the black tuff on his light cream cousin's head. "Sorry you guys can't come play with me and the others. We were just about to go down to the river and go for a swim."
"We're not allowed to go outside the cave," Sisu said the disappointment clear in her voice. "Mommy says we have to wait until we are two months old."
"Don't feel too bad," Rey said. "Every cub had to do that. But hey you only have a month left."
"It's gonna be the longest month ever," Loki said with a sigh.
When Loki lifted his head, he saw Felisa coming up the side of Priderock.
Loki's purple eyes got wide and he backed up a step. Sisu followed her brother's gaze and backed up as well.
"Well hello there my dear niece and nephew," Felisa said peering down at mostly Loki.
"H-hello Auntie Felisa," Sisu and Felisa stammered.
"Would you two mind if I spoke to your cousin?" Felisa asked. "Alone?"
"S-sure auntie," the siblings said.
"It's time for our bath anyways. See ya." Sisu added. Before she and Loki ran inside the cave to find Sherise.
Once they were gone Felisa turned towards Rey and said, "Rey, come here." the gold cub walked over to his mother and she pulled him close. "How would you feel about having a little brother or sister?" she asked.
"That would be cool," Rey said with a smile.
"Good," Felisa said. "Because in a couple of months you're going to have one." Without saying another word the creamy brown lioness turned and went inside the cave.
Once Felisa was inside the cave she saw Sherise giving Loki a bath with Sisu lying by the dark brown lioness' side.
"Ah dear sister-in-law there you are," Felisa said as she aproached the Queen-in-Command. "I have something I feel you should know."
"What is it Felisa?" Sherise asked still bathing Loki.
"I'm going to have another cub," Felisa stated simply.
"Well," Sherise said trying to hide her surprise. "Congratualtions sis."
"Yes well thank you, dear sister." Felisa purred sarcastically.
"Mom can I go now?" Loki asked. "I think I'm clean enough."
"Oh very well Loki," Sherise said with a slight laugh. "You can go."
Letting out a cheer Sisu and Loki ran outside to wait for their father's return from patrolling with Francisco.
As she watched her son and daughter leave Sherise couldn't help but chuckle. "He's just like his father," she remarked. "Never can sit still for a bath."
The dark brown lioness smiled remembering when they were talking to get to know one another before becoming mates and one of the conversations were he didn't like to get baths like his cousin now father-in-law.
"I don't recall Luis ever saying he didn't like baths from when I talked to him," Felisa said her voice low.
"Felisa I am sick and tired of you saying Loki is not Jesús' son," Sherise growled. "For the millionith time Loki is Jesús' son. Not Luis'. And if I ever hear you saying that around him again I won't be so nice. Got it?"
"Oh Sherise, let's be honest here shall we?" Felisa said narrowing her blue eyes at the younger lioness. "It's just you and I here. There's no need to lie. You and I both know that young Loki is Luis' son. It's so obvious. He looks just like him, just misfortune he has your eyes." Sherise growled but Felisa continued. "My nephew looks nothing like my brother."
Sherise opened her mouth to respond but before she could do so, Jesús came walking into the cave with Loki and Sisu right beside him.
"Mom!" Loki cried running up to Sherise and getting between her paws as Sisu sat in front of her mother. "Dad was just telling us about all the cool things he did today!"
"Really?" Sherise said giving her son's head a lick. "Well don't keep me in suspense. Tell my what Daddy told you."
"I think I'll be going now," Felisa said. Without waiting for a response the creamy brown lioness exited the cave leaving the Family alone.
"He told me he talked to elephants, rhinos, and zebras with Francisco and Uncle Kovu," Loki said his purple eyes sparkling with excitement.
"And guess what else Mom?" Sisu put in her own purple eyes gleaming with excitement.
"What?" Sherise asked with a laugh.
"He said that he's going to take us to see all the sights soon," Sisu said with a bright smile. "That way we can see all we'll protect if we're chosen for Sarabi's Lion Guard."
"That's great sweetheart," Sherise said with a smile. "Why don't you and your brother go see if Grandma Nala is back from the hunt yet?"
"Ok Mom," Loki said getting up and running out of the cave with Sisu.
"Jesús, we have a problem," Sherise said once she was sure the cubs were gone.
"What's wrong?" the reddish-brown lion asked giving his mate his full attention.
"Felisa won't let up about Loki not being your cub," Sherise said.
"I wouldn't worry about my sister if I were you honey," Jesús said with a smile. "Nobody pays attention to what she says."
"Jesús, I'm serious! I'm worried that Loki will hear her spewing," Sherise said with a worry tone. "What if he believes her?"
"Sherise, Sisu and Loki don't even go near Felisa most of the time," Jesús said. "I think they are afraid of her or something."
Sherise frowned. Her mate was telling her not to worry but how can she not?
