So, you might be wondering what happened to this story.

For those that were around since at least May, you might be aware that this story used to exist. I decided to take it down, because I felt it wasn't what I envisioned to be. Now, however, this is mostly unchanged, but some parts of it have underwent heavy lore redesigning.

I hope you enjoy!

"Legends."

A female voice spoke, as the world turned to void, a tower forming amidst the emptiness, in blips of white, gray and green, a towering feeling prominent even though there was nothing else present in the void but it.

"Stories scattered through time. Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the various exploits of the heroes and villains of the past, forgetting so easily that we are but remnants..."

As the top of the monolith emerged from the void, a spire stood on top, an ominous green aura emanating from the spire.

"Byproducts... of a forgotten past..."

The green orbs hanging from the top of the spire softly glowed green, before they turned to right, fading into the dust, the surface of the world forming. In black and white, jet-like particles emerged from the ground, forming into illustrations of humans.

"Man, born from dust, was strong, wise and resourceful."

As the particles formed into silhouettes, a figure emerged from the cloud, a human person standing amidst the emptiness of the world.

"But he was born into an unforgiving world. An inevitable darkness, the creatures of destruction and ruin..."

Around the human, more silhouettes would form from the clouds of dust; red eyes glowing ever-so-ominously, as monsters of various forms would form, towering over the human.

"The creatures of Grimm... set their sights on man, and all of their creations..."

More human silhouettes would emerge from the ground, each of them wielding swords and spears in their hands, as they faced down the Grimm in almost blind confidence, wielding poses that almost spoke of the same level of blinding confidence. The two sides clashed, in a war that was fated to never end. Creation and destruction. Life and death. Construction and ruin. Hope and despair.

"These forces clashed, and it seemed the darkness was intent on returning man's brief existence to the void."

And then... everything was shrouded in shadow, as the darkness began to close in on the human silhouettes... all hope was lost for a brief moment, before glimmers began to form, before becoming sparkles, and subsequently...

"However, even the smallest spark of hope is enough to ignite change, and in time, man's passion, resourcefulness and ingenuity led them to the tools that would help even the odds."

A ray of light emerged from the darkness, forming into a pure white crystal, as it rose above everything, standing firm within the confines of the void.

"This power was appropriately named... Dust."

The crystal began to descend, gently landing above the pure white silhouettes of humankind, radiating amidst the black void. However, in that moment, everything froze, the first voice being cut off almost instantly. Another voice then spoke, this time male instead of female, and in a more cheery tone compared to the former.

"You might be forgetting something else, my dear queen! For there is more to this story than simply the exploits of man!"

The world began to change, the darkness turning into light, before revealing a world unlike any other, almost as if it were from a world of somebody's fantasy. The bubbles that set the ambience of the world, the floating formations of rock that decorated the skies, the various mythical animals that flew across the air.

As a small pink and teal house came into the horizon, almost humble compared to the world around it, a figure opened the door, getting comfortable as he took a seat on his chair. His outfit was almost odd, enigmatic in a sense; the green hair, the pink hat, the purple jacket, it all almost felt so wrong, but it somehow managed to work altogether.

Smiling, he exclaimed in his still-cheery tone, "Bonne lecture, my friends! My name is Tassel!"

And as the bookshelves in his small humble abode stood out, rows upon rows of books lined neatly of all different sizes and colors, with weird runes decorating the titles of the books, he then spoke even more.

"This may sound a bit sudden, but books are quite the novel thing, aren't they?! Absolutely anything can be found in books, like unknown knowledge or new experiences!"

Tassel would then open a pink pop-up book of some kind, revealing scenery not-too-different from the one outside of his home, as another white light bathed the scene, revealing the world in all of its glory.

The Wonder World.

"Once upon a time, the world we live in was created from an extraordinary book of immense power..."

As the world panned around, the crimson silhouette of a book revolving amidst everything, revealing creatures and machines of all kinds floating in the skies, from dragons and planes, to marine life and dinosaurs, amidst the floating rock formations.

"That very book was the source of all myths, stories, living creatures, scientific techniques, technology, and such more, as well as containing human history... it was all inside!"

The scene went dark, before revealing a rocky formation of multiple people standing amidst the darkness, only illuminated by the thunder the struck behind them. And as the lightning and thunder roared amidst the clouds in the skies, the bubbles still present all around them, Tassel continued.

"The swordsmen, chosen by Holy Blades known as the Seiken, were tasked with protecting that books... and thus the world was at peace."

And amidst the individuals' hands were swords, softly glowing in red, blue, yellow, gray, green and purple.

Standing opposite them, and against them, however, were a tribe of sword-wielders, their faces covered by their hoods with the exception of their eyes that softly glowed purple.

"But one day, some bad people appeared to snatch it away, and the book was split and shattered!"

The crimson book that continued to revolve opened, pages being torn out from the book as they flew into the skies, littering the world around it, before the pages then turned into various-colored books of some kind with various titles.

Brave Dragon.

Storm Eagle.

Lion Senki.

Peter Fantasista.

Lamp do Alangina.

Needle Hedgehog.

Genbu Shinwa.

Sarutobi Ninjaden.

Kobutasan Kyoudai.

Jaaku Dragon.

These were only some of the titles that littered the books, as they flew into the skies, disappearing into thin air. Looking down below, the surface of the world underneath the skies were suddenly littered with people and monsters, fighting in amounts of much it was a war at a scale unlike anything that had ever happened before...

"The battle between the two sides for the book continued for many years upon end... and is still being waged even to this day..."

The scene zoomed out before revealing the final page of the pop-up book that Tassel had been holding, before he slammed it shut, bright light filling the screen once more. The scene almost transitioned like a book, pages flipping for what felt like seconds, revealing a clearing between multiple buildings, as people began running away from monsters of some kind, the buildings around them riddled with destruction and ruin, chaos unfolding beyond the very eyes.

And as a young boy stood amidst the chaos, frozen in fear and unsure of what to do, the people continued running, as a swordsman fought a purple figure in the distance, the armor glowed in the sheen, the red lines in his silver visor glowing amidst the purple, gold and silver suit he had donned, a blade of the same colors in his hand.

And as people continued running in all directions, three figures emerged, each with designs so horrifying in their own right that they were not only just monsters, but had gone up and beyond...

In the skies above, a portal resembling a white book opened, with a current so massive, it was sucking everything into it, as a young girl held onto the boy's hand for grip, trying to get free of the portal that was threatening to pull her into the void. Their hands only being connected by the pinky grip, they desperately tried to hold on.

Ultimately, however, it wasn't enough, as the girl was sucked into the portal, screaming out the boy's name in pure agony, as the purple portal closed, disappearing and fading into nothingness. And as he could only look on in horror, a man wielding a sword towered over the boy, holding a red sword in his hand.

"Where there is resolution... hope lies beyond!" The man screamed, as he plunged his sword into the ground, the boy being able to do nothing but look on.

And as the man plunged the red sword into the ground, it glowed with a fire so bright, a sphere of light formed, surrounding everything and consuming the world... before the screen froze, fading back into darkness, revealing the Dust crystal falling downwards as it landed above the pure white silhouettes of humankind. The first voice began speaking once more, an audible hint of disdain in her tone.

"As I was saying... nature's wrath in hand, man lit their way through the darkness..."

As multiple human silhouettes appeared, repelling the monsters that were approaching them, each wielding either a sword, or releasing magic of some kind out of their hand, the monsters would begin to fade, as a castle would begin forming behind the human silhouettes.

"And in the shadow's absence, came strength, civilization, and most importantly, life."

Zooming out, it revealed a map with what appeared to be multiple large continents, and multiple small islands, as four castles on the map radiated with white light.

"But even the most brilliant lights eventually flicker and die..."

The castles would flicker, before fading, as the map would burn, a fire consuming the scroll as it turned into ash and dust. And as a sun emerged from the burnt map, the female voice's tone turned from disdain into a more ominous level of tone.

"And when they are gone, darkness will return..."

The scene would then zoom into the alleyways of the city, revealing a mysterious crime organization of some kind, planning what appeared to be a devious plot, before exiting the alleyway, revealing a bustling street.

Travelling through the city, the female voice spoke once more, more ominously than before.

"So, you may prepare your guardians, build your monuments to a so-called free world... but take heed. There will be no victory in strength..."

And as it stopped in front of an inn of some kind, located next to a store oddly named 'From Dust till Dawn', a window on the side of the building opened, revealing a male figure barely waking up, a confused and groggy expression on his face as he seemed to have just gotten out of bed. And as the male figure did his morning routine, a softer male voice then spoke, rebutting the 'queen's' claims.

"But perhaps victory is in the simpler things that you've long forgotten... things that require a smaller, more honest soul..."

And softly in the background, on one of the inn walls, a sword softly glowed red, as the male figure stared at a picture in his hand, softly muttering to himself, "Otouto-san..."
