Hello, everyone. This is my first attempt at a fanfiction, so I am not entirely sure how this will turn out. It is essentially a RWBY x Pokémon crossover fic. I am also going to admit that this story is partially inspired from another fic, Darwin Candidate's Boldores and Boomsticks, one of my personal favorites in matter of fanfiction. There were some elements into it that I really liked so I took them from there and added them into my story. Those who read that fic will most likely recognize them.

Please remember that I do NOT own either RWBY or Pokémon. All rights go to their respective owners.

Chapter I – Prologue

Unknown location

Unknown date, unknown time

"Ugh..." a certain voice moaned while the person it belonged to was waking up from a coma and trying to open her eyes. One second later, that person has finally managed to open her eyes and wake up completely and then quickly sat up.

"Wh... What...?" Ruby Rose said winded completely confused, trying to figure out what was happening.

After collecting her thoughts, the red reaper got back up on her feet slowly and with difficulty due to the pain she was feeling throughout her everything. "*grunt* Oww...! What...?" She looked around herself confusedly and slightly dazed, doing a quick survey of her surroundings. She found herself in the middle of a small clearing that was pretty much the only spot bathed by the afternoon sunlight, with trees surrounding it from all directions.

"Wh... Where am I...?" Ruby said while trying to figure out what was going on. She recalled the past events and the last thing she remembered was that she was in Forever Fall. Yet I don't think I am in Forever Fall anymore. None of the trees have red leaves. All of them are regular green-leaved trees. She had been sent there by Professor Ozpin on a mission to protect some people exploring the forest alongside her team... her team... MY TEAM! Of course! She obviously didn't go on mission on her own! Her whole team was with her: Weiss, Blake and Yang. The reaper looked around herself but saw none of her teammates anywhere around. Where the heck were they? She had to find her team and get out of there ASAP. So, without further ado, she left the clearing and proceeded into the woods.

"YAAAAAANG?! BLAAAAAAKE?! WEEEEEEISS?! GIRLS, CAN YOU HEAR ME? CAN ANYBODY HEAR ME? WHERE ARE YOU? HELLOOOOOO?" Ruby shouted like that for fifteen minutes or so hoping that somebody would respond, but in vain, so she ultimately decided to give up. *sigh* Let's at least try to get out of...

"RUBY?!"

"Huh?" Ruby suddenly stopped into her tracks and listened around.

"RUBY, ARE YOU THERE? RUUUUUUBYYYY?!" the same voice suddenly yelled from nearby.

When Ruby heard the other voice she instantly recognized it. "WEISS?! IS THAT YOU?!"

"RUBY! OH, THANK GODS!"

"STAY WHERE YOU ARE, WEISS, I'M COMING TO YOU! WHERE ARE YOU?"

"TRY AND FOLLOW MY VOICE!"

Ruby did not waste any more time and started searching around, with Weiss constantly shouting to guide her, and half a minute later, she passed through some bushes...

...and finally came across her partner.

"Weiss!" Ruby exclaimed joyfully and before the white princess could react in any way, the red reaper immediately crossed the distance between them with her semblance and caught her partner in a hug "Oh my gosh! I thought I would never find any of you!".

"Thank Gods you're here!" The heiress said hugging the speedster back, overcome with the relief that she was not going to die alone in the woods like had been fearing until that point "Are you alright?".

"Yes. Are you?"

The heiress nodded in response. "Wh... What about the others?"

The speedster snorted and chuckled in response. "Dang it! I was about to ask you the same thing."

The heiress sighed "I though as much. In that case..."

BANG!

The explosion stopped the white princess from saying one more word and startled both girls.

"What was that?!"

"I don't know..." Ruby answered "It sounded like..."

BANG!... BANG!... BANG!...

"Gunfire!... It must be the others! Quick, it's coming from this way!"

The red and white duo immediately went running toward the source of the explosions, which grew louder and louder, signaling them that they were getting closer to the source, until they finally reached a large field. And there they saw...

"BLAKE! YANG!" Ruby exclaimed when she and Weiss saw their fellow teammates.

Yang turned her head to the left at the sound of her name being called and saw her stepsister and the Ice Queen, forgetting about her opponent. "RUBY! WEISS!" Then, the yellow brawler turned her head toward her partner "BLAKE...!"

"YEAH, I SAW THEM!" the black cat interrupted, "BUT HOW ABOUT WE ENJOY THE REUNION AFTER WE HAVE DEALT WITH THAT?" and she pointed at the big-ass Ursa Major charging toward them.

"Roger that!" Yang grinned and slammed her fists together and she burst with energy. Her eyes turned from purple into blood red, and she was enshrouded in flames.

While the Ursa Major was still charging toward its opponents, it was brought to a halt by Ruby and Weiss, who had started shooting bullets and fireballs respectively toward it. During this moment of distraction Yang had enough time to propell herself with her Ember Celica toward the ursine beast, "RRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGH!" and deliver a whole barrage of devastating fists of fire that stunned the Elder Grimm and pushed it a few steps back. The Grimm, totally dizzied from the motherlode of hits it took to the face did not have time to react to Ruby appearing near its head, putting the blade Crescent Rose in scythe mode over its head and on the other side its neck and then finally pulling backwards and also pulling the gun's trigger to add momentum. The blade quickly passed through the monster's neck like through butter and its head fell off on the ground, followed by the rest of its body collapsing and the whole thing quickly vanished into thin air.

"Well, that takes care of that." Blake remarked.

"Yang!" Ruby exclaimed and quickly went to hug the yellow brawler.

"Ruby!" Yang responded hugging her red hooded half-sister back, "Thank Gods you're both alright!"

"So, any idea what the heck is going on? Where are we?" Blake asked.

"Well,..." Weiss answered, "I do remember that we were in the middle of Forever Fall, where Ozpin sent us to serve as bodyguards to some... archaeologists, I think?."

"Archaeologists?"

"Yes. If I remember correctly, they were going into Forever Fall on an expedition to study some new ancient ruins they have found and they requested protection from the Grimm, so Ozpin sent us to do just that."

"And then?..."

"Then I recall we arrived at said ruins and the archaeologists began studying it, when we were ambushed."

"Oh, right!" Yang intervened, "I do remember how Beowolves and Ursai suddenly appeared from everywhere. I think there were some Elders and even a couple of Deathstalkers among them too. Yeah... I remember how we soon became pretty outnumbered, and they started slaughtering those poor..."

"STOP!" Ruby suddenly cried, "Nope! Nope! We do not need to re-see those images again thank you very much."

"Agreed!" Wiess added taking a condescending look at the blondie, who grinned in response. "Anyway, I recall that after that..."

Remnant

Ancient ruins, Forever Fall, Vale

May 17; 13:40 Central Vale Time (CVT)

Team RWBY was holding their ground against the incoming horde of Grimm that was surrounding them from all directions.

"WHERE THE HELL DO THESE FREAKS KEEP COMING FROM?!" Yang yelled in utter frustration.

The other three huntresses silently agreed with her. With every second that passed, the pack seemed to grow bigger and bigger. And with every second that passed, the girls were more and more willing to just give up. None of them have ever seen as many Grimm packed into one spot as there were now.

"HEY, GIRLS!" Ruby suddenly hollered at her teammates, who turned their heads toward her in response. "I SAY WE TRY AND GET INSIDE THOSE RUINS AND TRY TO FIND A PLAN THERE!"

"ROGER!" Weiss said in response "BLAKE, YANG, COME ON!"

Thus, all four huntresses stopped fighting off the pack and ran off for the huge cliff the entrance to the ruins was built into. The entrance consisted of a pair two wooden doors visibly affected by the centuries of neglect; they were obviously rotten and covered in mold and lichens on the areas that have not been eaten away by thermites. Many ornaments were sculpted all around their frame, and a hemispherical portico standing above them, supports by four columns that were just as ornate as the doorframe.

Without a second thought Yang positioned her arms backwards and propelled herself with her Ember Celica toward the large, decayed doors and hit them with enough force to blow them open and into a million splinters. However, what Yang didn't know was that the first thing behind those doors was a flight of stairs, and before the yellow brawler could react she found herself falling down said flight of stairs. It was only thanks to her aura that she made it with all bones intact. "I'M OKAY!... Oww...!"

"..."

"..."

"..." Dolt!

Soon after, the rest of team RWBY entered through the now-collapsed doorway and down the stairs toward the cave that was most likely sheltering the rest of the ruins. After regrouping with Yang at the bottom of the stairs, they all kept moving forward through a long barely-lit bricked hallway.

Team RWBY proceeded through the hallway until they reached the other end, where they came across yet another pair of doors bigger than the first ones. Moreover, unlike the ancient wooden doors from outside, these ones did not look ancient at all; they were modern sliding doors made of bulletproof steel (they even had a numbered keyboard on the side), although small stains of rust could be seen on them also as a result of the very long time spent unused.

"Alright, let me try something!" Yang squeezed the tips her fingers as much as she could through the crack between the doors and, with every ounce of effort she was capable of, she pushed the two doors apart from each other. At first, although she was close to popping a vein, she didn't accomplish very much, so she burst into flames and then she really got to it. "RRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGHAHAHAHA! HOW ABOUT THAT, BITCH! YEEEEEAAAAAAAAH!" She only managed to open them wide enough for one huntress to pass through one at a time before she finally stopped and turned off her flames to catch her breath while her teammates were making their way through. Phew! That shit was quite something!.

Meanwhile, outside, the Grimm crowded up at the entrance, entering the ruins one by one; the entrance was only big enough for that; and the hallway was too small for the larger Grimm such as the Deathstalkers to enter anyway.

Back inside, the whole team managed to enter and Blake, thanks to her night vision, found what appeared to be a light switch on the wall near the entrance. The feline Faunus went to the button and switched it on, praying it was indeed a light switch and, more importantly, that, through a very faint streak of luck, the power source was still capable of functioning... And thank Brothers, it was. The entire room was engulfed in light, the sudden change in brightness briefly blinding the girls.

They looked around them and noticed to be in huge circular room that, just like the metal door, was anything but ancient. And in the middle of it was some weird device that was shaped like a giant ring standing vertically on a support and with a big control panel in front of it.

"What is this place?" Ruby askes curiously, "What was here?"

Unfortunately, the team leader, couldn't find the time to find the answers, because, shortly afterward, they all saw a Beowolf trying to squeeze its way through the crack, barking and growling furiously, followed by several other Grimm that piled up at the door, trying to get inside.

"So much for trying to buy ourselves more time to come up with a plan!" Weiss commented.

"Not only that, but now we are stuck in a dead end!" Blake remarked. "How are we going to get out of here now?!"

The team looked again around themselves and, indeed, they couldn't find any door other than the one they had come through.

"Well, as I can see, the Grimm are now coming from only one direction, and judging by the size of the hallway, I doubt the very big ones were able to get inside, so here's my new plan: once those things break through the door, we open fire on them."

"Heheheh! You got me at 'open fire'!" Yang responded with a smirk on her face. All four girls positioned themselves on the side of the room opposite of the door and drew their weapons and pointed them at the door.

A few moments later, the Grimm finally managed to open the door almost all the way through, and as soon as they did, Team RWBY made it rain Hell. A motherlode of Beowolves, Alpha Beowolves, Boarbatusks and Ursai were soon barging in, and many of them fell slain by the barrage of bullets and projectiles launched by the team.

Eventually, as more and more Grimm poured in the room, it became more and more obvious to the girls that simply shooting at them started becoming an option less and less viable once they realized that more Grimm were barging in than they could shoot down before they came too close. Soon enough, when they saw that the initial plan was no longer practical, they ditched it, changed to melee mode and began slicing, stabbing and punching at the creatures unlucky enough to find themselves closest to them.

Ruby was spinning her scythe around, slicing an Ursa to pieces when she saw, with the corner of her eye, to her right, a Boarbatusk charging straight for her. Unfortunately, by the time she noticed the creature it was already too late to evade it even with her semblance, and the porcine Grimm hit her with all its force, sending her flying a few good meters, until she finally landed into the control panel, and, as a result, she accidentally pushed a button on the desk. Immediately afterwards, the mysterious machine in the middle of the room roared with life. However, before the red reaper could take a better look at what she did, she saw the Boarbatusk ready to charge for her again, but before the monstrous pig could start running, Yang came out of nowhere and punched it in its ugly face, which was blown off with a Fire Dust shot, and now it was the Boarbatusk the one sent flying a few good meters until it slammed into the wall then vanished.

"THAT'LL TEACH YOU TO HIT MY SISTER, YOU BIG SACK OF BACON AND SHIT!"

Meanwhile, a large disk of bright white light emerged seemingly out of nowhere in the middle of the ring, quickly growing in size until it filled it up almost completely, and Ruby, having gotten back on her feet, was now staring at the now-running contraption. Oookaaaay?... That happened... Oh, right! Focus Ruby! The Grimm! We will worry about this later!

The other three huntresses had also noticed what had just happened, but, naturally, they were also too preoccupied with their current predicament to care too much about it. Then, Weiss came up with an idea. It was definitely not a bright idea in the slightest, and it was most likely going to hurt her and her teammates, not just the Grimm, but at the moment, she didn't have much of a choice and she doubted her teammates had a better idea. She lifted Myrtenaster up in the air, and the rapier started glowing yellow, then several yellow glyphs appeared above the monsters. Lightning immediately started coming out of the glyphs and hit anything that was unfortunate enough to stay in their way. However, just as Weiss had known it would happen, the bolts, whether they hit the Grimm or not, went through the metal floor and finally into the girls.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGHH!" all four girls fell on the floor, convulsing and screaming in sheer utter pain as the high-voltage electricity contracted their muscles and, for a moment, all of them felt like their hearts were going to shut down. This, of course, made Weiss lose her focus on the glyphs, which broke immediately afterwards. And, to make matters worse, the heiress hadn't even been able to keep the electricity long enough to deep fry the Grimm, which ended up nothing more than a little dazed, smelling like overcooked meat (Or that might have been the girls themselves. At this point, it wasn't very clear anymore.) and angrier.

On the other hand, before the glyphs broke, something else had happened. The same electricity that passed through the metallic floor did not hit only the girls, but also the mysterious machinery that had been left running in the background this whole time. The weird ring-shaped contraption, now overcharged with energy, started sending out sparks, and both the lights on the ceiling and those on the control panel started flickering.

The huntresses, still partially stunned and in pain, managed to get back up on their feet and looked around them in concern. Even the Grimm briefly stopped from what they were doing and looked around themselves confusedly.

"I've got a bad feeling about this!" Blake said and then look at the overcharged contraption and her eyes grew wide when she realized what was about to happen. "Oh, CRAP!... " The black cat quick jumped to her feet and yelled at her teammates. "GIRLS! WATCH OUT! THAT THING IS GOING TO...!"

Before the shroud could finish her sentence, the bright disk of light in the middle of the large ring suddenly exploded, enshrouding everything in a very bright light. Both team RWBY and the horde of Grimm were blinded and stunned by the massive expanding ball of light engulfing them and then everybody could feel their own bodies dematerializing.

Unknown location

Back in the present, sometime in the afternoon (most likely)

"And nobody remembers anything after that?" Weiss asked.

"Nope. Only that we all apparently woke up inside this forest that is obviously not Forever Fall." Blake answered.

"Soooo... now what?" Yang continued.

"I say we stop wasting time and find a way out of this forest and back to civilization before we have to deal with more Grimm." Weiss answered.

Suddenly, they all heard some rustling coming from nearby, startling them.

"Did you hear that?" Weiss asked and the girls looked around themselves trying to figure out what was causing the sound.

Blake eventually saw that the rustling was coming from some nearby bushes. "It's coming from there."

All four girls turned toward the source of the sound, weapons drawn and pointed toward it.

"WHO'S THERE?! SHOW YOURSELF!" Yang cried.

As if in response, something did come out of the bushes, and soon enough team RWBY found themselves looking confusedly at one of the weirdest things they had ever seen.

And that concludes the first chapter of my first fanfic ever. I know it may not be much, but I think it is enough for a prologue.

Anyway, don't forget to leave your reviews and stay tuned for more. I have already started working on the second chapter.
