APOV
I am now 20 weeks pregnant and we have an appointment today to see how the babies are doing. Hopefully we're are able to find out the gender of the twins. As I'm getting ready, I look at myself in the mirror and my bump is much bigger than when I was pregnant with Teddy and Phoebe. But I guess that is to be expected since I'm carrying two this time.
I remember when we told the kids that we were having not one but two babies. Of course the kids argued with each other about what they wanted me to have. Teddy said it's gonna be boys while Phoebe says it's gonna be girls. Looking to Christian I shake my head and smile. What my child said next was something we or should I say Christian was not ready to answer.
Flashback
"Daddy why is there two babies in mommy's tummy? How did they get in there?" Phoebe asks her father.
"Umm, well how about we talk about that when you are a little bit older Princess."
"Dad I know how mommy got the babies in her tummy" Teddy says." What happened was that you gave Mommy a seed and she ate it and it got stuck in her tummy."
"Who told you that Teddy?" I asked him.
" It was a kid from my school. He said his mom was having a baby and that is what his dad told him" Teddy looked at his dad as he explained.
"Well Teddy, when two people love each so much, the Daddy gives the mommy lots of love and he gives her a baby" I tell him.
"But mommy what are they doing in there?" Phoebe asks me.
"Baby girl they do so much in here. Right now they are probably sleeping. But they also suck their thumbs, kick and even get the hiccups" I say with a smile while I rub my bump.
Phoebe looks up and walks towards me and says " Can they hear me? Are they scared to be in there for a long long time?"
"As they get bigger they will will be able to here sounds, so yes if you talk to them the will. And no baby girl they are not scared mommy protects them from harm." She seems like she is happy with what we tell her because she hugs me and the conversation about babies is over.
End of FLASHBACK
As we make our way to Dr. Greene's office, I ask Christian what is on his mind. He seems nervous and hasn't said much since the conversation we had with the children.
"Are you okay Christian? "
"I'm fine baby, just excited about seeing the twins and how they are doing" he reaches out to touch my stomach.
"So am I but why do I get the feeling that there is something else going on?" I say.
"Nothing to worry your pretty little head about. With the addition to the twins I just want to make sure everything is going to be okay Ana, that's all it is" Christian says.
Once we walk in and get checked out by the nurse, we wait. Dr. Greene walks and greets us. "Hello Mr. and Mrs. Grey, are you ready to see the babies?"
We both nod and she puts the gel on my stomach and turns up the monitor and there it was, two beautiful heart beats. As she is moving the probe I see our babies.
"Well it seems like these two are giving me quite a show and are in position, would you guys like to know what you are having?" We both say yes and she the proceeds to tell us what the sex of the babies are.
"Congratulations, you are having girls" Dr. Greene says. I look at Christian and his eyes are wide and his mouth has dropped.
"Girls? They are both girls?" Christian looks like he is about to pass out. I take his hand and say "Are you okay?"
Christian just looks at me and all he says is "We are out numbered."
