Bury the hatchet
...
.
"Adon Papadakis..." was the name that left Andreas' lips, his eyes wide.
He barely said those words, when all of a sudden it became pitch black in the whole mansion.
"Fuck"
Ana gasped softly, when all the lights went off." Christian?" she whispered.
"Stay right where you are, Ana" she heard him say." I'm coming to you"
It was then, when she felt a delicate hand grab hers... It was Demetra.
"Don't worry, Ana" she heard the young, gorgeous woman say.
Christian closed his eyes, and focused for a few moments. And when he had opened them again, his eyes had that familiar yellow color, and now he was able to see in the dark.
"It's like wearing night vision goggles" Parthenios had told Christian, when they both were barely sixteen." But much cooler of course... our secret weapon, cousin"
"Parthenios, use your secret weapon..." he demanded, and saw Ana standing next to the young woman.
"Got it, cousin" Christian heard him say." I'll uncuff Andreas first, then we'll deal with Papadakis"
Christian grabbed Ana's other hand, and said." Gotcha"
Ana sighed in relief, and gripped his hand tightly." Christian, what will we do now? Where's Taylor?"
"Well, well, well... what a lovely reunion, both cousins in one room" they all heard someone say." I thought you left the Phoenixes', Grey..."
In response, both Christian and Parthenios took their stance, ready to attack.
"What do you want, Adon? You want me?!" Christian barked, while loosening the grip Ana had on his hand." I'm right here! Come and get me!"
"Christian, noo" Ana uttered, her heart pounding inside her chest.
At this moment, she was absolutely terrified, cause Adon was the one who had given the order to kidnap Christian, and kept him as a prisoner like a wild animal!
Chills went up and down Demetra's spine, when she realized she and the others were sitting ducks!
She held her trembling hand up but wasn't able to see it, because it was so dark in the room...
"You know, I've never been happier in my whole life... it must be my lucky day" they all heard Adon say." A witch, who's my distant cousin BTW, a bunch of Phoenixes, the 'Agathe' and not to forget the Christian Grey, all in one room."
Both Christian and Parthenios were the only ones who could see what their situation was.
Adon had a weapon in hand, and so did eight of his men.
'Fuck... We're most definitely outnumbered.' were the words that swirled around in Parthenios' head right then.
Christian desperately wanted to attack Adon's men, but he was afraid that Ana or one of the others would get shot in the process.
They couldn't take that risk! So, he and his cousin stayed put.
"Let's fight, you and me, Papadakis!" Parthenios barked, and took his fighting stance." Like real men... without any weapons"
They all heard Adon laugh at that." I'm gonna slaughter each and every one of you... one by one." he threatened, his voice low." And I'm gonna enjoy every second of it"
Meanwhile, Calinico and two 'Phoenixes' almost had reached the basement of the mansion in order to turn on the generator.
"Is it this one?" Stavros shouted, his hand shaking heavily.
"Yes! Just do it now!" the other 'Phoenix' shouted." We've got to head back to the library... we need to protect our leader!"
In the meantime, Taylor had reached the hall and just shot one of Adon's men in the head, using his trusty flashlight to show him the way.
"Fuck!" he grunted, when he heard what Adon was planning to do...
He assessed the scene before him, and realized then that he was outnumbered and outgunned. Fuck... he had failed his boss!
Meanwhile, in the library Christian knew he had to do something, before Adon killed ALL of them." Adon... man, you're boring" he mocked, and gave Parthenios a look.
His cousin nodded, in response...
"What the fuck are you talking about, Grey!"
"I've got a proposition for you, Adon" Christian explained." To make it all full circle, why don't you bring Ana and me to the place where it all began, centuries ago."
As those words reached Andreas' ears, he felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up.
"The sea" Demetra and Ana both whispered, while holding each other's hand oh so tightly.
Noooo... not the sea.
Adon laughed at that, and pointed his weapon at Ana...
At seeing that, Christian gasped softly, his heart thumping wildly against his rib-cage." No, don't do that..." his voice was pleading." Me first... shoot me instead... N-not her"
At hearing that, Ana knew that Christian was talking about her... was Adon pointing the weapon at her right now?!
Ana's eyes automatically fluttered shut, while feeling how Demetra was using herself as a shield, although she herself couldn't see a damn thing!
"Adon, you don't have to do this!" they all heard Demetra say, her voice shaky." Let us bury the hatchet, let us all move on from our past... PLEASE"
"No! After all that they have done to our family?! To our ancestors?!" Adon shouted, the venom in his voice evident and clear." No, no cousin, they will suffer just how our ancestors before us have suffered... I'll make sure of it"
It was then, when they all heard a sound... the generator!
AND THEN THERE WAS LIGHT...
The eyes of both cousins instantly changed into its natural color and form.
Christian looked around, and saw how Adon was still pointing the gun in Ana's direction, but also saw that Demetra was using her body to shield Ana.
Andreas saw it too, and clenched his hands into fists, his eyes wide... " Demetra" he uttered, while his heart contracted inside his chest. Nooo.
"Adon, please don't do this!" Christian shouted, and took a step closer to him." Take me, and do whatever you want with me... torture me, shoot me, kill me whatever, just don't hurt any of them... please. Don't hurt my Ana."
Adon shook his head at that." One more step, and I'll shoot your soul mate and that filthy witch!"
"OK" Christian said, both his hands up." I'm not moving... we're all calm. Right?"
Adon gave him a look in response, his eyes filled with jealousy, disgust and rage." Die, you MONSTER" He said, then swiftly moved his hand, pointed his gun at Christian and pulled the trigger.
"Nooooo!" Ana screamed, feeling as if her heart was being ripped out of her chest, while seeing the shocked look on Christian's face.
In seconds, his knees gave out, and he sank down onto the library floor, his gray eyes locking onto Ana's.
It was then, when all hell broke loose!
As he saw Christian on the floor, bleeding out, Parthenios roared aloud, and with claws and yellow fangs, leaped like a wolf at Adon!
Adon's men were so shocked by Parthenios' appearance that they froze on the spot, watching in horror how their boss was being attacked by a 'monster'.
"Help! Help me!" they all heard Adon say.
It was then, when the others barged into the library... Calinico, Stavros, Taylor and the remaining 'Phoenixes' who weren't killed by Adon's men.
During the gun fight, Taylor shot and killed as much of his enemies as possible and so did the other 'Phoenixes'.
A sobbing Ana was sitting on the floor of the library, and desperately grabbed Christian's cold hand.
All she saw on the floor was blood... there was just so much blood. "Christian... don't you dare leave me! Please, I can't live without you..." Ana pleaded, as tears streamed down her face, while hearing how Calinico was frantically calling for an air ambulance.
"Come, right away, PLEASE!" The older man begged, his voice trembling heavily.
However, Christian felt himself slipping away, his eyes fluttering shut... he was about to lose consciousness." A- Ana, love you, baby"
Parthenios heard Christian's heartbeat, so slow... his heart wasn't pumping as it should... As he realized he was about to lose his beloved cousin, he saw red, his rage coming out, and yet he was able to control his claws and fangs.
In human form, Parthenios grabbed Adon and with all the strength he had in him, he began choking the life out of him!
At one point, Adon's face had turned blue, tears spilling from his eyes.
It was then, when Andreas grabbed a gun and shot in the air! "Boss, let go of him... please!" he shouted.
However, his leader didn't listen and kept choking Adon Papadakis." You will die today" he hissed, his hands still tightly around Adon's throat.
Demetra turned her face the other way, unable to watch how someone was being killed, while attempting to console a desperate, sobbing Ana...
"Christian, stay with me baby... stay! The ambulance is on the way" Christian heard Ana say, feeling how she was touching his cheek, face, hair, and upper arm. Godddd, he wanted so badly to stay with his Anastasia, but the darkness was taking over and then suddenly it was pitch black... again.
It was then, when Taylor took action and hit Parthenios with the handle of his gun on his temple, making him squirm from pain, and in the process he finally let go of an unconscious Adon.
In response, the remaining 'Phoenixes' rushed towards their leader to help him." Fuck you, Taylor..." Parthenios cursed, and held the painful spot.
"Christian, Christian... don't l-leave" Demetra heard Ana say, her voice breaking." Oh, my God! Is he dea..."
As those words reached his ears, Calinico let his phone fall to the ground, his face white as a sheet." No, my boy... not my Christian"
Taylor and Andreas rushed to where Christian was lying...
"Let me, Ana" Taylor said, so Demetra grabbed Ana and pulled her in an embrace, giving him space to take a look at Christian.
"Demetra, I ca- can't lose him now!" Demetra heard Ana scream hysterically, while tears spilled from her emerald eyes.
"What is taking the air ambulance so long?" Andreas asked Calinico.
"Bad weather" was all Calinico could say, his face pale.
"Do you feel a pulse?" Parthenios asked him.
Taylor shook his head, his eyes fluttering shut." Barely... I can barely feel it" he said." He's lost too much blood already..."
It was then, when Parthenios tried to get up from the chair.
"Boss, please sit still... you're hurt" Stavros requested, while giving Parthenios a worried look." The paramedics need to check your temple, sir"
"Let go of me!" Christian's cousin said, and stubbornly got up from the chair, while glaring at Stavros.
And then he let out a deep breath, and looked at Demetra, his eyes boring into hers.
Andreas noticed it, and in a flash stood in front of Demetra." Boss, what are you doing? This isn't her fault! She has nothing to do with..." he began, but his leader cut him off harshly.
"Andreas, shut. up!" Parthenios said, then he shook his head, clenched his jaw, his face stern, eyes still fixed on Demetra." The witch..."
"Don't call her that!" Andreas warned, still standing in front of Demetra.
"Shut the fuck up, Andreas! The paramedics are on their way, but they'll be too late." Parthenios announced, his face pale, eyes teary." The witch, she can save my... cousin's life"
As those words reached Ana's ears, her head instantly snapped up, and then her eyes locked onto Parthenios." What?" she whispered, and got on her feet, while tears rolled down her cheeks." What did you just say, Parthenios?!"
In response, he pointed at Demetra." She, she can save his life... she has magical powers and can heal Christian, before it's too late..."
As those words reached her ears, Demetra's eyes went wide...
