Chapter 11

Harry stared speachless at the Elena looking vampire, and quickly realized that this was in fact the famous Katherine who sired the Salvatore brothers. If he didn't know for a fact that Elena was currently outside with Stefan, he would have sworn this was her in the Living Room right now. He quickly pushed some of his magic into his body preparing for a fight if she came at him suddenly and wanted to be completely ready for anything.

"Who are you?" she asked watching the boy who entered the house seemingly recognizing her and ready for a fight, and not thinking that he looked like anything special, but something about him screamed at her vampric instincts to run and be weary of him. "Are you Jeremy's friend?"

"Kind of," answered Harry slowly, "but I know him and Elena are currently outside waiting on me."

Her eyes narrowed dangerously at his words, cementing the fact that this boy knew who she was and her body and mind warred with each other. She wanted to attack him immediately, but knew at some base level of her mind not to antagonize this person, and it scared her more than she wanted to admit. He still hadn't said who or what he was, or what he was doing here but there was something about his eyes that told her he knew who she was, and that he wasn't someone she could easily compell or even defeat but still wanted to attack him.

"What do you want?" she asked with both anger and fear as she continued to size up the young boy and couldn't explain the contradiction of his powerful feel and weak looks.

"I want to know why you're here Katherine?" asked Harry calmly.

"Fuck you boy," she snarled, her anger at being discovered and still not understanding her opponent taking over as she charged Harry with incredible speed that he matched to avoid her, "you're a vampire!"

"No ...a wizard," answered Harry with a good deal of anger in his face as he glared at Katherine, "...and don't call me boy!"

Katherine growled in challenge and launched herself again at Harry, who this time didn't dodge the attack but retaliated with a heavy punch to her face that sent her flying backwards into the front door. Before she could even recover from the sudden and very effective punch, Harry stunned, petrified, and bound her in unbreakable magical ropes before levitating her and leading her outside the house. Stefan, Elena, and Jeremy were all completely wide eyed and shocked when Harry emerged floating his prisoner who they couldn't see until he got closer to them.

"Katherine!" gasped Stefan in total shock once he got a good look at the floating and bound vampire, causing Elena to let out a squeek in fright as Jeremy just stared in disbelief between his sister and her double.

"Yeah ...can we move the interrogation to your house? Damon needs to hear this too," spoke Harry looking at Stefan, and getting stunned nods of everyone's heads still coming to grips with what has happened.

"We c-can t-take my car," stuttered Elena trying to recover from her surprised and somewhat terrified state.

"No need," responded Harry accioing one of the front porch pillows to him and concentrating for a second with his wand before muttering portus and watching the the pillow glow blue momentarily, "you all need to grab onto this pillow and don't let go ...it may feel a bit awkward but it will only last a second ...everybody holding on ...good, activate."

The portkey instantly brought the unusual group of five to the front porch near the Slavatore's front door with a hook behind their navals and a kaleidascope of spinning colors. Both Elena and Jeremy staggered during the landing, but were held upright by Stefan and Harry who also had the still unconscious and bound Katherine on his other arm as they arrived at their destination. All three of the awake passengers showed even more surprise at their method of travel and where they ended up, but shook it off knowing their were other more important questions to deal with first.

Stefan led the group with their floating prisoner inside their house and to the main sitting room before he called for Damon to tell him to come and see their guests. They didn't have to wait for long for his brother to arrive and raise his eyebrows as he saw Elena, Jeremy, and Harry in his house. It wasn't until he saw their unconscious and bound guest that his eyes widened comically and he almost choked in total and absolute shock.

"Katherine!" he gasped eventually, sounding much like his brother had only a few minutes previously as his eyes locked on his sire he spent much of his 150 years mourning and then searching for. "Where did you find her?"

"Waiting at the Gilbert's house when I brought Jeremy home and saw Stefan returning with Elena," responded Harry with a meaningful look at Damon hoping he came to the correct conclusion.

"I took Katherine their thinking it was Elena," chocked out Damon in disbelief after quickly putting together the pieces of only a half an hour or so previously. "I didn't know ...no wonder ..."

"No wonder, what?" asked Stefan with a meaningful look to his brother.

"She kissed me goodnight," he replied staring only at the bound woman he had spent the majority of his life loving, and not seeing his brother's or Harry's raised eyebrows and curious looks.

"What exactly is going on?" asked Jeremy who most forgot was even there, and who had the least amount of information on the current situation.

Stefan with Elena's help quickly explained to the younger teenager about Katherine and her connection to the Salvatore's, Mystic Falls, and the vampire tomb all the while Damon and Harry continued to watch the bound and stunned vampiress both thinking about what to do. When Jeremy was brought up to speed, Stefan asked his brother what he wanted to do as a silence settled over the group and it was clear that a decision would not be made lightly. Harry could tell that Damon was struggling and conflicted over what to do since regardless of any anger and resentment he held towards Katherine for basically abandoning them, he still very much loved her or at least he thought he did.

"I need to talk to her first ...and get a few answers before I can make up my mind," Damon responded after several intense minutes of silence where he was really trying to come to grips with everything that had happened recently.

"I don't know how willing she's going to be to answer your questions," supplied Stefan looking equally inquisitive and serious, as Elena gave the two brothers a heartfelt look of sympathy knowing how hard this must be for them.

"I've got a truth potion at home we can give her, if you really want to hear her answers," added Harry trying to be helpful and supportive to Damon who he had really started to think of as a good friend, while thay all looked at the wizard in surprise and a tiny bit of excitement mixed with fear at what they might learn.

"How soon can you get it?" asked Damon, his desire for answers quickly outweighing his fears.

"I'll be back before you can miss me," smirked Harry with a wink to Damon, before spinning on the spot and disapparating with a slight pop that left everyone's jaws hanging in shock and wonder at what all Harry could do.

Barely thirty seconds later Harry reappeared in the exact same spot to see that nobobdy had moved other than their flinches at his pop of arrival. He held up the small crystal vial with the clear odorless substance known throughout the wizarding world as the strongest truth serum available named veritaserum, which was a highly controlled substance in England and many other countries and really hard to brew. Harry had really grown his potion making skills since leaving Europe, as his training with Duncan had enforced the need to get better with healing potions as well as wit sharpening potions for Logan's memory troubles and several other's that he worked on that he thought might be usefull.

Despite explaining the magical ropes effectiveness, Stefan wouldn't risk Katherine being so close to Elena causing everyone to move down to their basement cell so the GIlbert's would have more protection from the older and more powerful vampire. Katherine was put in the cell as Harry fed her three drops of veritaserum and then woke her up while only he was trapped inside with her. She woke up quickly and struggled with the magical ropes for a short second before her eyes glazed over and her body went slack signifying the potion's effectiveness as Damon took to asking the first questions.

"Why didn't you come find us after being let out of the tomb?" he asked immediately going to the question that had plagued him the most in the last few days and weeks.

"I was bored with you both and had already had you and got what I wanted," she responded with a flat emotionless voice, as Damon paused seemingly slapped in the face and unable to continue.

"What did you originally want with Damon and Stefan?" asked Harry taking over the next question in the pause left by Damon getting a difficult answer.

"Loyal playthings to amuse me," she replied flatly.

"Then why not keep them around?" continued Harry curiously.

"I quickly got bored with them both," she deadpanned.

"How many people have you turned and got bored with?" asked Harry.

"One hundred seventy-three ...and got bored with them all eventually," she continued emotionlessly.

"Why are you back in Mystic Falls?" asked Stefan still trying to recover from everything they were learning.

"To make sure the tomb vampires where killed, and to meet Elena," responded Katherine, finally getting a response from Damon.

"What do you want with Elena?" he practically growled.

"Isabel told me about her similarity to me, both in looks and in having the two Salvatore brothers in love with her ...I planned to turn her for my amusement," she answered uncaringly.

"That's not going to happen," growled Stefan as he unconciously stood more protectively in front of his girlfriend.

Everyone then tensed slightly as Katherine began shaking her head as if to clear it, and Harry realized that the potion's effects were wearing off as she fought the last of it while growling slightly and starting to wiggle in the magical ropes. Elena and Jeremy both looked nervous and somewhat scared of her and what they learned, while Stefan remained practically growling protectively in front of them. Damon and Harry were both harder to read and seemed to be thinking heavily over what Katherine had said and confessed to, both wondering what to do now.

Harry offered four basic options eventually into the uncomfortable silence that settled over the group. They could kill her, imprison her, try to erase her memories although he was not sure it would even work on the vampiress, or take her far away and let her go. He wasn't too concerned with Elena and Jeremy's opinion, and looked to Stefan and mostly Damon to the decision on Katherine's fate. After a short internal struggle, Damon decided to lock her up and see if there was anything about her still that he loved before they tried to erase her memories.

Harry supported his decision even if the others didn't really, and after stunning Katherine and covering her with tracking charms, floated her onto the stone bed of the basement cell and removed the magical ropes. He wished his friend good luck knowing he was holding out hope that they could be together again and said goodbye to the brothers. He then apparated Elena and Jeremy back to their house and said goodnight before popping back to his own home and crashing into bed after a long and draining day.

The last few weeks of school and final exams passed by very quickly, and Harry felt that he did well despite his attention being split on the situation with Katherine and trying to make up with Bonnie. The wiccan witch proved very stubborn and tempermental, and wasn't interested in giving Harry another chance or even really listening to what he had to say despite his best efforts at reconciling. Damon had continued to have problems of his own with Katherine, who was proving equally as stubborn and uninterested in having anything to do with the older Salvatore and had only gotten angrier and more vengeful as her confinement continued.

The night after school let out, Harry and Damon were sitting and drinking at the Mystic Grill when Damon admitted that he was going to give up trying to convert Katherine to a different way of thinking and wanted his friend to try and erase her memories. It took three times for the obliviate to actually take, and he could only erase the last years worth of memories which at least eleiminated her knowledge of the tomb opening and her memories of Elena. Despite Stefan's arguements that she was still a threat to them as long as she was alive, Damon didn't want to kill her and asked Harry to relocate her as far away from them as he could.

Harry thought about where to take her, and remembered from Hogwarts that there was a very strong vampire presence somewhere in Northern Italy and let them both know of his plans to try there first. He went back to his rental house and packed back up all of his things to prepare for the unusual journey he was getting ready to undertake, and called up the person he was renting from to return his keys having to leave town. Two hours later, Harry had said his temporary goodbyes to the Slavatore's and had an unconcious Katherine with him as they grabbed onto the totally unauthorized international portkey he made and were gone.
