"Right, everyone ready?" Harry asked as his family looked at him with a wan expression. Ginny was smirking while James, Albus and Lily looked somewhat morose.
"Can't we stay a bit longer, Dad?" Lily asked while pouting even as her eyes turned misty. "I like this world more than the previous ones."
"She means she likes her 'Lulu' more than the others," James snickered, while Albus gave a thin smile.
"Hmm, as far as son-in-law's go, he was the best one we had till date," Ginny agreed with a pleasant tone, even as she filed her nails.
Lily pouted, "You are one to talk, don't think I don't know about you and Cornelia. All you two did was fight and fuck, and fuck and fight!" she snarked back while James blushed, a rarity for the eldest offspring of the Potter family.
"Language, Lily, but yes, you are right," Albus replied, while Harry smiled at the interaction of his children.
"Oh, and you are ready to leave Nunnally behind as well?" Lily asked, and even though it sounded snarky, there was a hint of concern in her tones. Her second brother did not enter into relationships easily like their eldest brother. Nunnally Lamperouge was a rare exception, and Albus had been genuinely in love with the girl.
"It does not matter," Albus replied with a shrug and a tone of wistfulness, "We had a good life, but it was never going to last forever. You know our position sister, once our job in this world is done, we move on to the next," he ended his tone with a finality, while everyone grimaced at the reminder.
It was true in the grimmest sense. When Harry had broken the Elder Wand at the end of the battle of Hogwarts, he had unknowingly earned the ire of the entity known as Death. So, as punishment, at the time of his passing, the entity had intervened and declared that Harry was not to pass on, but serve death for eternity as its personal enforcer. Harry had been furious, but in the end, he had somehow managed to convince Death to grant the same choice to his family as well, entirely unwilling to let go of his attachment to his family. He had argued that it was better to have a willing servant than a reluctant one, and more willing servants could accomplish the tasks quicker and better. After some tough negotiating, the bargain was struck. The Potter family in its entirety was bound to the entity known as Death, to serve as its enforcers till the end of time.
In return, they were granted eternal life, total mastery over all forms of magic, but they would never have a permanent home of their own. Time and again, they would be sent to various worlds to end the imbalance between life and death in various worlds. In the due course of their duty, they had toppled governments, raised empires, conquered worlds and so much more, and now they were to move on their next assignment after ending the threat of Charles Zi Britannia and his psychotic wife Marianne in their current world.
"So, where are we going next?" Ginny asked, even as Harry looked at his wife with an admiring look. Instead of choosing to pass on, she had decided to stick with him for eternity, and he was beyond grateful for the love that she had shown him.
"The next assignment is a world called Planetos, and it is a feudalistic society, with many areas matching the medieval Earth. With one difference, in this world, magic is known, and is fully accepted in normal society. There are various magical creatures and factions in this world, and some lesser divinities which have grown out of control and caused a great imbalance in the natural cycle, and we are being dispatched to bring them back to balance," Harry replied back, while his family seemed to take it in stride.
"So, like a world similar to ours except there is no statute of secrecy, and we are allowed to wield our powers in full, I suppose?" Ginny asked, to which Harry nodded in agreement.
"More than that, we have carte blanche to wield our most destructive magics without restriction and no limits on collateral damage as well. Basically, there are no restrictions on us at all," Harry admitted, even as it raised eyebrows amongst them all.
"That is different from our usual assignments," James spoke out, as he looked at his father, "Why?"
"Because there is no oversight on magic in this world, James" Harry replied back, "Because of the statute, in our home world, magic was regulated to an extent, so that the darker elements of it did not affect the innocent as the goal was to hide the existence of magic. Here, it is the opposite, it has become a tool of the deranged, for oppression, for greed and basically since it is a medieval society, the practitioners have no regard for the lives of the non-magical people. Compared to the practices of the users in this world, even Voldemort looks tame," Harry grimaced, while even Ginny winced at that description.
"Ouch, then the situation must be really bad" Albus whistled, while Lily looked rather low-spirited.
"So, Dad, what are the details, and how are we going to do this?" James asked, to which Harry sat down and waved his hand even as a map of Planetos was projected in the air. The family members all sat down and looked at the map with various degrees of interest.
"This world is basically divided into four major continents known as Essos, Westeros, Ulthos and Sothoryos. It is roughly 4% larger than Earth in size, but with some similarities. We will be focusing on these two areas known as Essos and Westeros. Essos is somewhat a mixture of medieval Europe and the Orient in similarities, but they are very slim. It is divided into various regions like the Nine Free cities, which are similar to the city-states of Europe, only these are far larger and more powerful, both militarily and economically. Then there is a Kingdom called Sarnor, which once resembled the Byzantines. However, they ran into the discount Mongols of this world, known as Dothraki, and were ruined," Harry spoke out, while faces of the rest showed various degrees of distrust.
"Lovely, I guess I know what my first task is once I set foot in that world," James grimaced, while Albus and Lily shook their heads in pity. These discount Mongols would have no chance with their brother once he set upon them.
"Then as I said, we have the said discount Mongols, also known as Dothraki. Barely literate, they are absolutely nomadic and survive by raiding, pillaging and plundering their surroundings, and are the worst sort of barbarians you can expect. Even Ragnar and Bjorn were more civilized than these mongrels," Harry grimaced while Albus grinned. He had liked working with Bjorn and considered him as one of his best friends.
"The next part is the Valyrian Peninsula, and it is this worlds version of Atlantis, or Numenor, if you prefer," Harry spoke out while everyone flinched.
"And what did these fools do, dear?" Ginny asked with a hint of derision to her tone, to which Harry sighed in frustration. "These guys were what happens when an entire order of dragon riders goes the way of Galbatorix, but without his sanity, and creates an empire of decadence without parallel. The fools tried to harvest the magic of fourteen leylines at once to attempt apotheosis in the form of immortality. Instead, they caused them to rupture and fourteen volcanoes erupted at the same time shattering their peninsula to smithereens. Their entire empire, culture and everything they had achieved destroyed beyond recovery but for a few tiny remnants. By this act, they also damaged the leylines of the world itself and weakened magic in general, which we will need to repair."
"Lovely, and why the special emphasis on these morons, dad?" Lily asked even as she glared at her father.
"Because, at the time of our insertion it will have happened only three to four centuries ago, and it will give us the perfect excuse to present ourselves as a surviving remnant, and no one will be able to question our abilities if we pass off as Valyrians," Harry admitted even as Albus groaned.
"So, what, we are going back to being conquerors and rulers again?" Albus asked even as he massaged his forehead while Ginny giggled.
"Yes dear, you and James are again going to be flocked by idiot nobles and rulers trying to foist off their princesses at you, while Lily is going to have a gaggle of chivalrous idiots trying to court her once more," Ginny giggled, while Albus and Lily scowled. James was unrepentantly grinning in anticipation.
"So, this Essos is where we will be setting up shop?" James asked, to which Harry nodded. "Then, which is our real target?" James asked again, to which Harry gave an appreciative nod.
"The continent of Westeros," Harry brought up a new map. "A unified continent under the rule of a single monarchy, comprising of nine great kingdoms which closely mirror the various medieval kingdoms of Europe. They were unified by the last surviving remnants of the Valyrian dragon riders named Targaryen, but they have lost all their dragons and now are a truly feudal monarchy only."
"Beautiful, their politics must put pureblood politics to a shame," Ginny observed, while Harry grinned.
"Yep, though some of the regions seem to match Europe a bit. This region called Dorne seems to be a mix between medieval Spain and the mid-east, the Reach seems to match France, while the Stormlands and the West seem to match the Teutonic state somewhat. The Vale seems to match the Balkans with its mountains, while the Riverlands are more like a patchwork kingdom of petty states like the Holy Roman Empire with its religious overtones, and the North is roughly a mix of Kyivan Rus and Early Tsardom of Russia. Though I may be wrong, but they are the closest influences I can see," Harry completed.
"And what makes this our goal?" Albus asked after a while.
Harry nodded and waved his hand and the map was replaced with the figure of a gigantic ice wall. "Meet the Great wall of this world. Made of Ice and magic, it is three hundred miles long, and is approximately seven hundred feet tall, and is more than fifty feet thick," he explained, while his family took a look at it in shock.
"Color me impressed," James whistled, as even Lily and Ginny shared a nod in appreciation.
"Apparently, it is over ten thousand years old, and beyond this wall is our true target; a race of genocidal ice creatures resembling the Jotuns of Norse myth, with the ability to raise Inferi at will. It is estimated that they are already waiting to attack again, and have an army of hundreds of thousands of Inferi on hand. We will have roughly twenty-five years to prepare for them, as obviously, the natives cannot be trusted to deal with them given their dysfunctional society," Harry finished, while everyone scowled.
"Great!" James snarked, even as he ran his hand through his hair, "I guess we will bring out our dragons again, yes?" he asked, to which Harry nodded in agreement. "Damn, Smaug is really going to be unbearable," he sighed, even as his father glared at him. You were the one who chose him as your mount, not me.
"Yeah? Think how I feel about dealing with Ancalagon again!" his father rebutted smarmily while Lily and Albus paled at that revelation. Even Ginny looked concerned.
"Dear, do you think that is wise?" Ginny asked, as even she was wary of the mountain sized dragon.
"I will need to make a statement of my own to make an impression, Gin, and this is a world which can be kept in check only by fear. And I will not use him regularly, but he must make his presence felt, so that everyone takes me seriously," Harry replied, while Ginny seemed resigned.
"So, we are conquering Essos, then?" James asked again, to which Harry nodded and brought up the vision of a city in mid-air.
"The city of Qarth, somewhat like Constantinople in a sense. This is the perfect staging point for us, and is ruled by a cabal of merchants and has a group of shitty warlocks called the undying, a mix between half-zombies and half-vampires, who are way past their prime. We will put them out of their misery and then we will take over the city. Afterwards, we begin our conquest. We must establish our empire in two years. I will accept no less," Harry spoke out, while the family nodded.
"James, you will go and conquer the areas of the Dothraki sea and their city of Vaes Dothrak, and Ghiscar and the city of Ibben which is their equivalent of the Nordic. You can have Smaug and the terracotta army. I want the job done within two years," Harry ordered while James nodded in agreement, his eyes nodding in agreement.
"Albus, you will target the region known as Slaver's bay and the three cities of Yunkai, Mereen and Astapor. You can have Glaurung and the Hoplites. Once you have brought them under your control and assimilated their forces, bring the ruins of Sarnor and Valyria under your control. You have two years as well," Albus received his orders and his face became rigid when he heard the word slavery.
"Gin and Lily, both of you will take Saphira and Shruikan, and you will bring the free cities excluding Volantis under our control. Apart from the two dragons, take the cataphract legions with you. Again, two years," Harry warned his wife and daughter, who nodded in agreement.
"And what about you, Harry?" Ginny asked, to which Harry smiled in anticipation.
"I will pay a visit to Volantis with Ancalagon. The Volantene people consider themselves successors of Valyria, so, they should be happy to see their new ruler, and afterwards, I will pay a visit to the city of Asshai which is where the highest concentration of magic users in this world lives," the master of the hallows spoke out, while Albus and James looked at each other and sniggered at the potential reactions of Volantis and its citizens as well as those of Asshai.
"So, what are we calling ourselves this time? Not Peverell or Potter again, please! I am tired of the cliché," Lily spoke, to which Harry nodded in agreement.
"We are posing as Valyrians. Makes sense to appropriate a Valyrian name as well as their features. We will take the name Belaerys. They were one of the most powerful dragon lords of Valyria before they fell," Harry replied after a while, to which everyone nodded.
"Well, let us go, our new world awaits," Harry spoke out, even as he waved his hand and the veil of death appeared in front of them, and one by one, the Potter family walked through it, to their new destiny.
Note: This was something that I had written and stored sometime back. Many times in these crossovers, I see Harry coming in alone, with nothing and rising to power, either as a member of Westerosi houses, or as a drifting traveler. And usually creates a new family, or it is always him and survivors of Hogwarts setting up a new kingdom.
I decided to take this a notch higher, with him and his family. All grown, and at their prime with no restrictions on their capabilities and decided to see, where it will go. And here we are. This should be happening about three years before Robert's Rebellion happens.
