Chapter 1: Prologue
Hello, and welcome to the first chapter of the series Meta-verse. Before we get started, this series will star tons of characters that you know from different medias. But, let's not get into that too much for the first chapter. Here you go and have fun.

Earth
Saitama, Near Tokyo
In the city, people are walking around everywhere. But that's not where we're getting at.
In the city, lies a house. In that house, we see a girl sleeping in bed.
The alarm went off. The girl tries to get it, succeeded, and shuts it off. She gotten out of bed, rubbing the sleep off her eyes.
She has long, shiny blue hair that reaches her calves, and she has a mouth that seems to look like a cat's mouth. She has sleepy green eyes. This is Konata Izumi.
She's in her green pajamas. She walks to her closet and grabs her summer school uniform to change.
After she gotten dress, she went downstairs, seeing if anyone's awake. But there's no sound, no nothing.
She sighed. "Guess I'm on my own."
She walked out of the house and walks for minutes to get to the school building.
When she got there, she was greeted by her friends. She waved back at them.
One of the girls has long, messy light purple hair that ties into twin tails with purplish-brown ribbons. She has pointed tsurime blue-violet eyes. This is Kagami Hiiragi.
The other one has shoulder-length light purple hair accessorized with a yellow headband that has a bow on top. She has droopy tareme blue-violet eyes. This is Tsukasa Hiiragi, the sister of Kagami Hiiragi.
The last girl has long, wavy pink hair. She has purple eyes and she wears glasses. This is Miyuki Takara.
"Morning." They all said.
"Morning you guys. Waiting for me, I guess?" Konata said.
"You're almost late. I can't believe it." Kagami said.
"Well, look who's being mad today." Konata said, sarcastically.
"SHUT UP!" Kagami yelled.
"Since you're here Konata, I was wanting to ask you." Miyuki said.
"What's that?"
"Had you seen the news recently?"
"About that abortion in Kyoto, yeah. Why?"
"I have a strange feeling...I don't think it's anything important, but I might be wrong."
Konata puts her hand on Miyuki's shoulder. "Relax. I'm sure everything will be okay."
Miyuki looked at Konata. "You're right. I think I'm a bit exhausted."
Tsukasa gone up to Konata. "I think it was scary."
Konata looked at Tsukasa. "It's okay, everything will be fine. Don't worry."
Tsukasa nodded.
At lunchtime, Konata, Tsukasa, Kagami & Miyuki were sitting around the cafeteria table.
"So, how much of that stuff are you putting on?" Konata asked, pointing at the ketchup.
"Who knows." Miyuki said.
"Put way too much of it on and you might a stomachache." Konata suggested. "At least, that's what I heard. I might be wrong."
"There's some things that can and some things that can't. Something spicy will hit the spot." Miyuki lectured.
"Yeah. Been through that once. Never wanna do that again." Konata said.
"Same." Tsukasa & Kagami said.
Konata nodded and began to eat her chocolate cornet.
They had a nice lunch until someone shouted.
"Put your hands on your head now!" A man shouted.
They turned to see that there's men that are in silver masks and where's a Nazi symbol on their shirts.
"What's going on here?" Konata questions.
"What the hell is this, World War 3? Nazis are suppose to be dead by now." Kagami said.
"Think again." Konata pointed out.
"By the declaration of Irene Engel, everyone put your hands on your heads and we'll guarantee your safety. If you don't follow them, you will be shot at." The man said.
"Who's Irene Engel?" Tsukasa asked.
"Who knows. I think Engel's Hitler the Second. Maybe." Konata said.
"Saying that, that would be impossible." Miyuki said.
The man saw the four. "Hey, you four, put your hands on your head. That's an order."
"Sorry. Not getting it here." Konata said.
"Are you playing games with me, pretty girl? Because I'll tell you that it won't be friendly." The man said, darkly.
"No offense, but, aren't you suppose be dead by now?" Konata asked.
"HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT TO ME?! WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!" The man yelled. "Kill this son of a bitch." He notions to the men to fire.
Konata makes a run for it and went out the door.
"Hey, get her!" The man ordered.
The Nazis chases after Konata.
Konata has her smartphone ready and starts to record herself. She ran from the hallways until she found a safe spot to hide.
"Hey, this is Konata Izumi, and right now, I don't know what's going on here, but if anybody likes to explain to me what's going on here, do so. Because I'm being chased by dangerous History Figures. And what else is next, who knows."
"There she is!"
Her conversation was cut short when they found her.
"Gotta run."
She got off her smartphone and ran into the hallways, but unfortunately she got shot in the shoulder, blood oozing out of her, spilling on the floor, then after that, she passed out.
Silence
"This is the one?" A voice said.
"Who knows. Whoever this is, Irene wants her alive. How the hell did you shot her?!" Another voice said.
"She might still be alive. Who knows." Voice #1 said.
"Yeah, right. Irene is gonna be pissed off when she sees this." Voice #2 said.
"Why blame me for this?" Voice #2 said.
"Because-"
"Enough!" A third voice said, interrupting the first voice. "Both of you. Even if she's still alive, what matters there?"
"Yes, Irene." The first voice said.
Somewhere Dark
Konata slowly opens her eyes and looked around. "Where am I?"
"Welcome, to the prison of death." The woman said. She has blonde hair and wears a black Nazi suit. Her Nazi insignia is on the left shoulder of her shirt. The left side of her face has been scarred with a unable closed mouth that gives her a permanent grimace.
"You must be Irene."
"Yes, Irene Engel. Now, Konata Izumi, what purpose do you have in yourself? There is something in you that I've been looking for."
"What do you mean?"
"There is a hidden power inside you, that I've been curious to see for the rest of my life. But, you're keeping it hidden. Why?"
"I don't know what you're talking about."
Irene snickered, then has a very angry face. "OF COURSE YOU DON'T! WHAT ELSE?!"
Konata just stared at Irene.
Irene grabbed Konata's chin. "You will tell me everything I need to know, or the consequences will be your friends. Which do you choose? Let them live? Or let them die?"
Konata snickered. "I'm not suppose to tell you my secret life. Never say what you do in your life in front of an enemy. That's what I've been told."
Irene screamed angrily at her. "You're getting on my nerves." She let go of Konata's chin and walks to the computers. "Well then, I suggest a prison for you. Yes. Guards!"
The Nazis came in.
"Take her to the dungeon. She's gonna have a long, long, miserable death."
"Yes, ma'am." They grabbed Konata and took her out of the room.
Irene stared at the guards, sighed, then turns around to face the wall.
Silence
"What to do now?"
The guards took Konata to a prison, they've thrown her in there and locked the doors, then they left.
Konata ran to the bars, grabs them and saw the guards left. "Never thought this day would come."
"So they put you in here too, huh?"
Konata turned around to see that there's a girl sitting there on the bed.
She has short pink hair that is worn in a flared bob with tuft of hair sticking out on each side to resemble cat ears and has a black clip with a hot pink heart on the side of her head. She wears a single-sleeved black and white striped mini-dress and at the bottom of the dress is a split that reveals some of her white panties. One of her thigh-length boots is white while the other is black and white striped. She has half of a handcuff on her right wrist. She has a black collar on her neck. This is Yuko Katagi.
"Didn't know I have a prison mate." Konata said.
"I didn't want to be in prison in the first place." Yuko said.
"I agree with ya. I'm Konata. Konata Izumi."
"I'm Yuko. Yuko Katagi."
"You're not around my place, are you?"
Yuko shook her head. "I'm from somewhere different from yours."
"Wow. That mean there's another world then?"
"You can say that."
Konata nodded. "I'm planning to get us both out of here. But with what?"
"That be impossible. I tried. I didn't gotten anywhere with it."
"How long have you been here?"
"About 4 days now."
"That can explain that prison suit."
"I had this for a long time then that! I've been in Hell once!"
Konata was shocked on this. "Did you just said Hell?"
"Yes, I just said Hell. It's not fun. But I have to because of my sister."
"How did you escape?"
"Long story. I don't know how to start."
Konata nodded, still confused. "What's your sister like?"
"She's a twin sister of mines. She always been there for me and always wants to protect me. Always."
"I think your sister and I might be good friends then."
Yuko nodded. "She's a nice person to be around. After hearing that Sako, that's my sister's name, has gone to Hell, I can't just bear to watch, but just go in there to save her, even though she was saving me in the end."
"That's probably be me too."
They looked at a weird looking creature.
This thing's body is navy blue and has a white patch around it's mouth and stomach. It wears a light brown hat with a yellow and green Shoshinsha mark on it, the same mark that's on it's stomach. It has a tadpole tail. This is Tamama.
"No way! You're Tamama! Second Private Tamama!" Konata said, amazed.
"How in the world does this Pekoponian know me?" Tamama asked.
"I have no idea, and I don't know what a Pekoponian is." Yuko said.
"Pekoponians are what these things call us. They call this planet Pekopon." Konata explained to Yuko.
"Wait! Then that means, that thing's an alien?!" Yuko asked, in shock.
"Geez, calm down. I'm not that harmful. Still, you, blue hair, how do you know me?"
"I've watched enough SGT. Frog to know who you are."
"Made sense. You're an otaku."
"An otaku?" Yuko wondered.
Konata nodded.
"Huh. I never met one before."
"I've saw otakus before, I don't think I'm one of them, but I might be considered one." Tamama said.
"I'm Konata. Konata Izumi."
"And I'm Yuko. Yuko Katagi."
"Well, thanks. I guess. Now what? It's just the three of us here."
"I didn't know you're in here." Yuko said.
"Scared you?" Tamama asked.
"No. But the fact of you being an alien, kinda."
"Once you get to know him, you'll get to know his whole crew." Konata said.
"Huh." Yuko thought about this.
"I didn't started the crew, by the way." Tamama stated.
"Yeah, no. He didn't started it." Konata agreed.
"Then who did?" Yuko asked.
"Sergeant Keroro. He's a good sergeant, I just wanna marry him someday." Tamama has sparkles in his eyes.
"Are you a boy?" Yuko asked.
"Clearly, he's a transgender. So that can answer your question there."
"Wow. So strange, and yet, awkward."
"You have to go and tell her that?!" Tamama asked with disbelief.
"It's true."
Tamama sighed. "Whatever. Look, I don't know how we gotten into this mess at this point, but the fact of the matter is, a way to escape this place without being harmed."
Yuko nodded.
"You know that Engel girl?" Konata asked.
"No, why?" Tamama asked.
"Because something about her doesn't seem right. It's bothering me since I met her."
"And why ask that?"
The three turned around to see Irene at the other side of the bars.
"I wanna know everything. And I mean, everything."
Break
Back at the prison
Yuko was the first to speak up.
"What do you mean everything?"
"Mostly her." Irene answered, pointing at Konata.
"Whatever you want with me, I don't think you're gonna find it here." Konata said.
"Listen to me, dick wad, I know you have something to hide, and when I find it, you'll face consequences far more sinister that you wouldn't believe your eyes what you have saw." Irene said.
"How about back off." Tamama said, getting in front of Konata. "I mean if you're going after her that badly, then face me first."
"Tamama." Yuko said, worried.
"Are you saying you wanna fight with me? There's no way you would win. I have power beyond your imagination that can kill a whole entire country! That's why I have complete control of everything. Everything except Konata's power."
"I have nothing. Nothing. I'm just ordinary."
"I see that as a lie."
"Search me if you have too. You're not gonna find anything inside me."
"We'll see about that. I should take you out soon to get you tested. Once Radec's done with what he's doing."
"Who's Radec?" Tamama asked.
"He's a Helghast soldier. My henchman." Irene answered, then left.
"Another Nazi?" Konata questioned.
"Nazis. Ha. Right. Why Nazis? What do they want anyway?" Tamama asked.
"Who knows." Yuko said.
Konata thought for a moment. "What do they want with me?"
"Who knows on that too."
Konata thought hard.
Outside the prison, we see Engel walking down the halls and into the training room. "Are you done yet?"
We see a person with a black suit that appears to be modeled after heavy-duty Spartan armor and wears a black mask with red eyes glowing and wears a black colonel helmet. This is Mael Radec, colonel of Helghast. He walked down to Engel. "Why ask that now?" He gotten down the stairs.
"Because we have a special person to test on. I don't wanna keep this experiment on hold."
"Who is this person we're talking about?"
"Konata Izumi."
"The one you're after for a while after getting resurrected by a somewhat being."
"Shut up. I be glad that I'm still alive."
"Get ya."
"Now hurry it up. I don't wanna-"
They got interrupted when the front wall exploded. They got up and saw people getting into the base.
One of those people has yellow hair and wears an orangish-yellow dress. Onver it was a blue short-sleeved jean jacket. She wears white thigh-length socks and brown boots. This is Ellis.
"What the hell is going on here? Who are these people?" Irene asked, confused on the situation.
The other girl has short light brown hair and bangs. She has brown eyes. She wears a black suit over a gray dress. She wears gray knee-length socks and Mary Jane shoes. This is Henrietta. Henrietta grabbed her P90 out of her violin case and fire at the Nazis.
The other girl has light blonde hair that is worn in a hime-style cut that exposes her ears. Her eyes are mid blue. She wears a black long-sleeved shirt, light-brown jean pants and black shoes. This is Rico. She has her MG 3 machine gun and fire at the Nazis.
Another girl has blond hair that is worn in two ponytails. Her eyes are light blue and she has tanned skin. She wears a gray waistcoat over a white long-sleeved dress shirt, gray pants and brown dress shoes. This is Triela. She readies her Winchester Trench Gun and shoots at the Nazis.
Radec grabbed his plasma gun and fire at the girls. But it shot at the controls instead.
"You fool! Now look what you have done!" Irene complained.
"I'm trying to shoot at them! Damn, I wish you don't be this moody." Radec said.
"What did you just said?" She said, her angry face close to Radec.
"Nothing."
"I thought so."
In the prison, they just stood there.
"I'm not coming up with anything." Konata said.
"Told you you're not gonna get anywhere." Yuko said.
"Don't have to say that." Tamama said.
They heard a scream, then saw a Nazi flown in the air and falls on the ground, knocking him out cold.
"What the hell?" Tamama said.
Suddenly, the bars break and flown to the ground. They took a step back. Then they saw a girl with short red hair that's untied except for the back of head that's tied with a large white bow/ribbon. She wears a blue short-sleeved school uniform and wears white almost to the knee socks and brown dress shoes. This is Ushio Okazaki.
"Needed a lift?" Ushio asked.
"Who are you?" Tamama asked.
"I'm Ushio. Ushio Okazaki."
"You're much young to save us all." Tamama pointed out.
"You don't know what goes on. I'll explain it later, right now, let's get you guys out of here."
They nodded, then followed Ushio.
At the computer base, we see a bluish-green skinned woman, wearing a blackish-blue robot suit. This is the Borg Queen. She watches over the attack on her screen, while working on the virus plan. And guess who wanted it?
"When will it be done?" Asked a robot. She is red and black with a white mask with green glowing eyes and wears a black crown. This is Hexadecimal.
"Patience, my friend. Soon, everything will be completed, and we'll get rid of Mainframe, once and for all." The Borg Queen said.
"Yes, but what about other worlds? We're already seeing this already."
"They will be eliminated as well. Resistance is futile."
Hexadecimal huffed at this. "Yeah, yeah, whatever." She walked to the door, then suddenly saw fire at the door.
"If you have anything to ask, then I suggest you ask them now." The Borg Queen suggested.
"Yes." Hexadecimal said, pointing at the door. "Why is there fire on the door?"
"What?" The Borg Queen turned and saw this.
Then the door exploded, pushing them back and slamming them to the ground. We see two girls walked in with their swords. One of the girls has long red crimson hair that as long as her body with an ahoge sticking up on the top of her head. Her eyes are also red crimson. She wears a black trench coat and wears black thigh-length socks and brown dress shoes. This is Shana.
The other girl has long crimson red hair that is styled in a hime cut and amber eyes. She wears a blue long-sleeved school uniform and wears black almost to the knee socks and brown dress shoes. This is Ayano Kannagi.
Shana snickered. "I didn't know you a flame haze yourself."
"I'm not a flame haze. I'm part of the Kannagi Clan."
"Whatever that is. You never told me about it."
"Yeah, I know. You brought it up now. Or, at least I did."
Hexadecimal got up and saw the two girls. "This is a disgrace. Who are you two?"
"We're fire wielders." Shana answered.
"You have to put it that way?" Ayano asked.
"Well, we wield fire after all." Shana explained.
"You're right." Ayano said, then turn to Hexadecimal.
"You can't fight the powers of the super virus, the Queen of Chaos, Hexadecimal." She switched her face to have an angry, creepy-like face that reveals her fangs and ran towards the girls.
Shana jumped and slashed her sword at Hexadecimal. She dodged it, slamming into the wall.
Ayano prepares her fire attack with her sword and thrown it at Hexadecimal. She screamed and dodged the fire, burning the wall.
The Borg Queen got up and walk towards Shana & Ayano. "Resistance is futile."
The girls turn to the Borg Queen, who is readying her photon gun. Then she fires it at the girls. The girls jumped and dodged the blast, hitting the wall outside the door.
At the training room, a girl walked towards Irene. This girl has knee-length dark blue hair that is tied in a low ponytail by a long blue bow with fringes coming down to her eyebrows where the sides of her hair hanging down to her waist-deep green eyes. She wears a red long-sleeved school uniform and wears black almost to the knee socks and brown dress shoes. This is Mai Kawasumi.
"You have no intention on killing me." Irene said, grabbing her rapier.
"We'll see who wins." Mai said, readying her sword.
Irene did a battle cry and ran towards Mai. Mai ran towards Irene and their swords clashed with each other. Then they gotten themselves into a sword fight.
"This is more fun then I thought. Well then, you think you'll last a single second? Ha! I'll see that you'll be dead." Irene mocked Mai.
"Like I said, we'll see who wins." Mai said.
They continued fighting each other with swords. Ellis ran to the computer and heated up, causing it to explode.
"The hell?!" Radec said in shock, then ran to get some help.
Konata, Yuko, Tamama & Ushio ran in the halls and hid themselves behind a wall, almost close to the command center.
There, we see a man with short gray hair with animal scratches on the right of his head. He wears a gray t-shirt with a navy colored tech suit and wears navy colored pants and brown boots. This is Miles Quaritch, colonel of the RDA Security Operations. He inspected the plasma gun. "Yes. Excellent." He puts it up and paced around.
Konata looked at him for a minute, then at them. "Okay, we need a plan."
"I'm already on it." Ushio said. She closed her eyes, then she unleashed her ghost self which is translucent.
They stared in shock. She looked at the trio. They still stared at her in shock.
"What are you?" Tamama finally said something.
"You'll find out later. I'm going in." Ushio walked out of the halls and into the command center, hiding herself from Quaritch.
Radec came into the command center. "We got a problem."
"Of course we do. And what problem is that?" Quaritch asked.
"We're under attack by unknown people."
Quaritch snickered. "Of course."
Ushio walked to the controls and starts to tap into it, putting a virus into it, then she left, gone to the trio and gone inside her body. Ushio opened her eyes.
"I don't know how you do that." Konata said.
"It's a way of sneaking in." Ushio stated.
Then the four ran.
Quaritch walks to the system and saw that they're hacked. "Damn it! Who did this?!"
Radec walks to Quaritch and saw it too. "Bitch." He walked out of the room.
The 4 ran until they gotten into the training room.
"Whoa!" Konata said, in amazement.
We see another girl came into the base. This girl has floor-length blue hair tied in a very low ponytail with a white scrunchie and purple eyes. She wears a grayish-black long-sleeved school uniform with a blue skirt and wears thigh-length black socks and brown dress shoes. This is Tsumiki Miniwa.
"Come on, let's get out of here!" Tsumiki ordered.
Irene turned and saw the 4 gone to Tsumiki. "NO!"
Mai and the others ran to the ship and flew out of the base.
Irene stared at the sky. "Someday, I'll get you for this! It's not over tell it's over!"
In the ship, we see Tsumiki walking towards Konata, Yuko & Tamama. "You guys are very new. We've set up a rescue party to rescue you three from that terrible Adolf Hitler girl."
"So you know who she is?" Konata asked.
"Yeah, sort of. That girl is nothing but trouble. You see, we've been trying to get rid of this Nazi army for as long as I remember, but they're building up."
"So, who are you guys?" Konata asked.
"We're the Meta-verse Department Agency. Which is where we're heading right now."
"That Hex woman was scary." Shana said.
"Don't know how you gotten out of there. But, I shouldn't question it." Tsumiki said.
"We tried." Ayano said.
"We're all recruits of this agency." Ellis explained. "Ever since our worlds been attacked by the Nazis and other dimension enemies, someone saved us and gotten us recruited for this agency."
"Who?" Konata asked.
"Jean-Luc Picard." Triela answered.
"Huh."
"We're here now." Tsumiki said.
The ship landed on the building and the agents and the trio gotten out of the ship.
A man walked towards them. He is bald and wears a red long-sleeved shirt with an Enterprise badge on the left side of his chest, black pants and black shoes. This is Jean-Luc Picard, captain of the USS Enterprise. "Welcome to the Meta-verse Department Agency. I'm Captain Jean-Luc Picard, captain of the star ship Enterprise and is captain of this agency."
"Wow…" Konata looked around the place. "This is interesting and all."
"Thank you. We should train you." Picard said.
"Huh…" Konata said. "And that's how my quest begins. Well, sort of a quest. This is how my story begins."
In the Nazi building we see Irene staring at the wall with the Nazi symbol, with an angry look on her face.
Ending theme

And that's a wrap. This is a very good chapter as far as I can tell. Note that some of these characters have powers in their respective anime series, but there are some characters that don't have powers that gotten abilities to do good. The ending theme used for this is Duvet by Boa from the anime series Serial Experiments Lain which I don't own. Expect this song to be in every chapter of this first arc. Now you know that Konata Izumi is the main protagonist of this series and Irene Engel is the main antagonist in this series. Next time, we'll be meeting some of the characters we did not saw in this chapter.
