CRASH!
After Rufus and Gloria jumps aside, a black & white getaway van crashes through the heavily chained and locked gate, the vehicle then skidded into a halt and after a few minutes, the backdoor opens and out came five figures.
The first figure is a young man with a short pink hair and eyes. He wears a black long-sleeved turtlenecked shirt with an orange R on the chest, black pants, silver-colored boots with yellow soles and silver-colored gloves. He wears a silver-colored utility belt and a black newsboy cap. This is Ben, a Team Rocket Grunt.
The second figure is a young woman with a pink bobcut hair and eyes. She wears a black long-sleeved turtlenecked dress with an orange R on the chest, a thigh-high silver-colored boots with yellow soles and silver-colored gloves. She wears a silver-colored utility belt and a black newsboy cap. This is Popstar, a Team Rocket Grunt.
The third figure is a young man with a brown skin tone and a muscular physique, he has a short brown hair and goatee, and has black-dotted eyes. He wears a white & blue striped high-collared muscle shirt, a black tattered sash wrapped around his waist, blue acid-washed shorts, white & blue striped socks, black shoes, brown gloves and a brown bandana. This is Brute, a Team Aqua Grunt.
The fourth figure is a young woman has a slim figure, she has a short brown hair and brown eyes. She wears a sleeveless turtlenecked-cropped, white & blue striped top, a black tattered sash wrapped around her waist, brown denim shorts, white & blue thigh-high striped socks, black shoes, brown gloves, blue armbands and a brown bandana. This is Smirk, a Team Aqua Grunt.
The fifth figure is a young woman has a slim figure, she has a neck-length pink hair and has pink eyes. She wears a white skull-themed beanie hat and a black scarf with white linings that covers her jaw, she wears a black top with white collar and cross-designs, white denim shorts, black socks with white bands and white rubber shoes. She wears a black armbands with white linings, a black & white band on her right thigh and she wears a black bling with large S on her chest. This is Crush-T, a Team Skull Grunt.
"We're in..." Crush-T uttered, "Now whut?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.
"We still go according to plan." Ben replied, "We'll ransack every tents and stalls until we find that amulet." he explained.
Brute then looks at the number of tents and stalls in the area, "Are you freaking serious?" he uttered in disbelief, "We're really going to check all of those tents and stalls one by one?!" he exclaimed in annoyance, "What if we never find that amulet?" he assumed.
"We're still getting paid nonetheless, so stop complaining." Ben replied.
Then another figure came out at the driver's seat of the vehicle.
The figure is a young man with a slightly lanky physique, he has a short blue hair and blue-dotted eyes. He wears a white skull-themed beanie hat and a black scarf with white linings that covers his jaw, he wears a black top with white collar and cross-designs, black baggy shorts, black socks and white rubber shoes. He wears a black armbands with white linings and wears a black bling with large S on his chest. This Tricky, a Team Skull Grunt.
"Hey! What's the hold up?!" Tricky demanded, "We got a job to do." he reminded, "So stop standing around and talking, and get into searching that amulet before someone..." he was saying when he took notice of Rufus and Gloria at the sides, "... see us." he finished.
"Is that Rufus?" Popstar pointed out.
"I was wondering when are you guys gonna take notice of our presence." Rufus stated with a blank expression.
"What are you doing here, Rufus?" Ben asked.
"The bigger question is... what are you guys doing here that you need to crash your vehicle through the gates?!" Rufus demanded in disbelief, "You nearly ran us over!" he exclaimed in annoyance.
Tricky rubs the back of his head, "Sorry about that." he apologized, "Anyway... the gang and I are here for business." he revealed.
Gloria tilts her head, "Business?" she uttered, "What business?" she questioned.
"We heard that a mystical artifact is being used as a prize in one of the stalls in this place." Smirk explained before going into deep thoughts, "I think it was called the Perenimat Amulet." she said out loud.
"Perenimat Amulet?" Gloria repeated before turning to Rufus, "Wasn't that the same mystical artifact that Big Ed shared towards everyone when we visited their booth earlier today?" she recalled.
Rufus nodded, "Yeah... the one that has the ability to takeover someone's body." he added in agreement.
"Yup! That amulet." Brute confirmed, "Our bosses wants to get their hands on that artifact, so they send us to steal it." he explained.
Rufus looks at them in surprise, "Wait! You guys are here to steal it!" he squawked in shock, "Dude... I'm aware that you're bad guys in your respective games but that doesn't mean you had to be bad guys outside your games." he stated in disbelief.
"Well... tell that to our bosses." Smirk replied.
"And we're getting paid and we don't really care what they do with it." Popstar admitted.
Rufus sighed in disbelief, "Whatever." he grumbled, "Anyway... the little girl with me and I will take our leave, and not get in the way of your dumb crusade." he stated.
Ben then steps forward, "Hold it!" he ordered, "You're not going anywhere!" he declared.
"Why not?" Tricky questioned, "They decided not to get in our way, so I don't see any problem letting them leave." he stated.
"The bosses strictly told us that no one should ever know about our task in stealing the amulet and the bosses strictly told us that there shouldn't be any witnesses in our mission or else they won't pay us." Ben explained rather aggressively.
"He got a point." Popstar said in agreement, "Also... it's not like they'll be able to leave this place to begin with." she added.
"What? Why?" Crush-T asked in confusion.
Popstar then pointed a finger at the gate which is magically back to normal, "Because the gates are back up." she answered.
Everyone were shocked by this, "What the?!" Rufus squawked in disbelief, "Wasn't the gate destroyed when you guys crashed through it?!" he exclaimed.
"I was thinking the same thing." Brute uttered in agreement.
"Maybe the gates has some sort of magic that fixes itself whenever it gets destroyed." Gloria assumed.
Rufus facefaulted, "I said this before... I know they want this place free from robbery but this over the top." he commented in disbelief.
Tricky rubs the back of his head, "Well... if it's the bosses' orders then I had no reason not to obey it." he reasoned before turning to Rufus and Gloria, "Sorry dude but bosses' orders." he apologized.
Rufus sighed, "Jesus Christ..." he uttered in disbelief.
"W-W-What should we do now?" Gloria asked nervously.
Rufus then glances at Gloria, "Well... we do the most rational thing to do in a situation like this." he said before grabbing her left wrist and then running off fast, dragging her along, "WE RUN FOR OUR LIVES!" he shouted.
"Hey! Get back here!" Ben demanded.
Brute chuckled, "As expected of Rufus..." he uttered, "... he's not gonna let himself be captured that easy." he mused.
"Don't just stand there! After them!" Ben ordered.
"Who died and made you king?" Popstar asked indecorously.
Without any further complaints, the grunts ran after Gloria and Rufus while screaming & yelling at the same time. And unbeknownst to them, Risukuma is seen observing them from behind a tree.
Meanwhile inside one tent somewhere in the area, Vera Symptoms and Flak are seen rummaging from one box to another in hopes of finding the Perenimat Amulet but so far, they haven't found it yet.
"Keep looking Flak." Vera beckoned, "That amulet could be stored inside one of these boxes." she stated.
"But Lady Vera... we've been through three tents already but we still haven't found it." Flak pointed out.
"More searching and less complaining." Vera chastised, "We only got one night to do this, so let's not waste any time." she stated before hearing some noises outside, "What the heck is that?" she uttered in annoyance.
"Sounds like a group of people chasing each other." Flak described.
Vera clicked her tongue, "Son of a..." she cursed, "... at a time like this." she uttered in disbelief, "Flak, go outside and take care whoever those noisemakers are." she ordered, "Whoever they are, we can't let any of them ruin our plans." she reasoned.
Flak saluted in response, "Very well, Lady Vera." he complied.
Flak then wasted no time leaving the tent while Vera resume searching through another box.
"I need to find, I must find it, it had to be mine." Vera uttered in determination, "If I had that amulet in my hands... I can finally be... be one of them." she furthered with a clenched fists, "I'll be able to stay with Flak without anyone to judge for who I am, I'll be able to live on without people trying to kill me." she muttered in desperation, "I had to get a body... a real one." she declared when all of a sudden, she glitched a bit.
Back outside, we see Rufus and Gloria running all across the place with the grunts hot in pursuit.
"T-They're gaining on us!" Gloria pointed out, "What should we do?!" she asked in panic.
"Let's split up!" Rufus replied, "You go to the right while I go to the left." he advised, "I'll admit that splitting up is a bad idea but if it shakes them off our tail, then I'm willing to risk it." he stated.
"O-Okay." Gloria uttered in response.
And with that, Gloria and Rufus went separate ways, much to the grunts' surprise.
"What the fuck?! They split up!" Ben exclaimed in disbelief.
"They must have some sort of plan." Smirk assumed.
"Well... it's not gonna work on my watch!" Ben declared, "Brute, Smirk, Popstar, go after the girl! Tricky, Crush-T, you're with me!" he ordered.
"Again... who died and made you queen?" Popstar questioned.
"Shut up!" Ben exploded.
The Grunts then went separate ways with Brute, Smirk and Popstar going after Gloria while Ben, Tricky and Crush-T going after Rufus.
And as the goggles-wearing man continues to run all over the place, Rufus found himself on a dead end and later found himself surrounded by Ben, Tricky and Crush-T.
"Nowhere to run!" Ben pointed out.
"Can we talk this out?" Rufus requested.
"No way!" Ben denied before bringing out a PokeBall with Tricky and Crush-T following suit, "This is the end for you!" he declared.
The trio of grunts then tossed the PokeBalls up before popping open, something came out from the balls in a bright flash of light and when the light died down, three creatures appears before everyone.
The first creature has a human-like appearance and it's skin has a light brown color. It wears a purple, skirt-like attire and bright red boxing gloves. It's feet are also a purple color, giving it the appearance that it's wearing shoes. It has enlarged shoulders appear as large shoulder pads. The very top of it's head is separated into five sections and it's face has visible eyes and a mouth but no nose. This is Hitmonchan.
The second creature has a salamander-like appearance with black-colored skin and reddish-orange markings on its back. It has squinting purple eyes, a mouth filled with black, jagged teeth, and a pair of ear-like appendages on the back of its neck. This is Salandit.
The third creature is a large blue bat with super long wings and has sharped eyes. It also has two long, skinny feet. The most distinct feature is its large mouth with four teeth. This is Golbat.
"Any last words?" Ben beckoned before noticing Rufus holding a large crowbar in hand, "Hey! Where did you get that?" he questioned in surprise.
Rufus then charges forward and whacks his crowbar hard on the Golbat's head which sends the bat-like creature crashing down to the ground before stomping on it several times until it's lost conscious.
The Salandit then lunges towards him but he swiftly swung his crowbar on the side of it's head before the creature is sent flying to the sides, knocking it out on the process.
Hitmonchan then charges towards Rufus and unleashes a fury of punches but the goggles-wearing man dodges it in great speed before swinging his crowbar hard across the Hitmonchan's jaw which dazes it a bit, Rufus then finishes it off by smashing his crowbar on top of the creature's head, knocking it out.
"Hey! That's an abuse towards Pokemon!" Ben complained and Rufus responded by flipping the crowbar in his hand before charging towards him, "Hey! No attacking the trainers!" he demanded but Rufus responded by whacking the crowbar hard on his face. Ben staggered backwards with a goofy expression, "Ehehehee~" he chuckled like a drunk man before Rufus kicks him aside.
Rufus then turns to Crush-T with a glare, "Wait! Wait! Wait!" she pleaded in panic when suddenly the goggles-wearing man jabbed his weapon hard on her midsection, "Oof!" she wheezed in pain before getting knocked out when Rufus hits her with a crowbar on top of her head.
Tricky chuckled in response, "Men... brutal as ever, Rufus." he commented, "All right... do yer worse." he beckoned and Rufus complied by whacking him hard on the head and Tricky responded by giving him a thumbs-up before falling down backwards with a silly unconscious expression.
Rufus then looks around the carnage that he just caused before letting out a sigh, "Men... what a drag." he grumbled while placing the crowbar on his right shoulder, "Better go find Gloria and see if she's okay." he beckoned before running off, leaving the unconscious grunts and Pokemons behind.
Rufus ran around the area, looking around in hopes of finding Gloria and her pursuers, and when he turns to a corner, Rufus came across Vera exiting a tent, surprising both of them.
Rufus then stopped running as he came face to face with Vera, "Woah! Who the hell are you?!" he exclaimed in surprise.
Vera gritted her teeth, "Of all times..." she uttered in disbelief.
Rufus an eyebrow, "Judging from your reactions... it's safe to say that you're not very pleased with my presence." he pointed out, "What are you doing here at the time of the night?" he questioned, "Are you perhaps here to steal the Perenimat Amulet that is rumored to be hidden somewhere in this place as well?" he assumed and after hearing what he just said Vera quickly got into a fighting stance and Rufus responded by raising his hands up in defense, "Woah! Woah! Hold on there!" he beckoned, "Look... if you're after it, I won't get in your way." he admitted, "Though... you may wanna hurry because a group of morons are also looking for it." he advised.
Vera's eyes widen in shock, "W-What?!" she uttered.
Rufus rubs the back of his neck, "Yeah... they were hired by-" he was trying to say when all of a sudden, Vera lunges forward and grabs him by the neck, lifting him up on the ground a bit, "Eerk... what are you?!" he choked.
"You tell me where these people are?!" Vera growled in demand.
"They're all over the place!" Rufus shouted in response when all of a sudden he witnessed Vera's entire body glitching a bit which made his eyes widen in realization, "Wait! Y-You're-" he uttered in shock.
Vera responded by giving him a sinister smirk, "Yes." she confirmed, "Right now... you're facing a GLITCH!" she declared.
