Chapter 9 – Rise of the Bird and Dragon…
Naruto and the party returned to Erhard's shop and collected their new equipment. The group said goodbye to Jiraiya and headed out of the city. In a couple hours they came upon damaged village of Lute. They took a couple of room in the inn and talked with the head of the village. Village head, "I'm glad to see you and your party, Shield Hero."
Naruto smiled and replied, "We wanted to check on your village and give you your portion of the money from the spoils of the wave to help rebuild." He pulled out a scroll and unrolled it. A bag appeared and he handed it to the village elder.
The elder bowed and said, "This is too gracious, Shield Hero. The spoils are yours and your party's."
Naruto shook his head and replied, "Nonsense, we feel that you guys need all the help you can get to rebuild. We will be splitting up to help you guys rebuild. Half of my group will help with the rebuilding while the other half is working on leveling."
The elderly man bowed and said, "I don't know how we can ever repay you for your generosity."
Naruto took a thinking pose and replied, "I would like for Lute to be my hub for a trading company that I want to form."
The man looked surprised and set down the coin bag on his desk and began to fish around in his desk and pockets. He finally came up with an item and explained, "This is a token that is a bill of passage that allows you to not have to pay business taxes put upon by the local lords. It should help you in your endeavors as merchant."
Naruto shook the man's hand and said, "Thank you. We really appreciate it. We will be around for about a week then we will be heading north to another country."
The elder nodded and said, "Good luck and enjoy our town. We do appreciate the help from you and your party."
Naruto left the office and headed back to the inn. He then sat on the bed senza style with an incubator in each hand. The girls found him that way several hours later. Milly asked, "Naruto, would you like to get cleaned up with us?"
Naruto opened his eyes and replied, "Sure why not." He put on a shirt and followed the girls out with the incubators in hand. They arrived at the bathhouse and quickly stripped. Naruto by now was desensitized to seeing the girls in the nude and the girls seeing him the same. He set the eggs aside and the group began to clean each other. After washing off the soap they got into the tub. Sylvie and Raphtalia sat at his side while Milly and Rino were either side of the other girls. The talk covered the day and wondering what would hatch out of the eggs. After drying off and changing clothes the group headed back to the inn. They began to study the books and most quickly fell asleep.
Naruto was awake before the others and noticed the eggs cracking. Naruto exclaimed, "Girls! Girls! The eggs!"
Raphtalia replied groggily, "What?"
Sylvie said, "My pillow is missing…"
Milly sat up and slipped over to Naruto's side. Not noticing that she only wore a pair of panties. She grabbed Naruto's arm and held close to him. He felt her breasts and looked down to see them and sighed. He shook his head and watched as the shells broke open at the same time. A pink chick with a yellow beak. It began to squawk, "Pee, pee, pee." The small bird jumped upon Naruto's head. The other held a lizard like creature with wings. It was white with red streaks, and red membranes for wings. The lizard's blue eyes fluttered open and it jumped onto Naruto's shoulder. It looked at the bird and the bird looked back. Naruto did his best to look between them and sighs. The lizard then rubs its head against Naruto's cheek. The bird then flaps its wings and begins to squawk.
Naruto looks at Milly and asks, "So I got a dragon and what?"
Milly replied, "It looks like you have a dragon and a filolial. I'm not sure, but I'm sure that they will need to be fed."
Naruto then said with a chuckle, "I would get a shirt on, since they are not going be looking for milk."
Milly blushed and then made an 'EEP!' sound. She then ran to her pack and put on a shirt. Naruto waited for the other girls to wake and see his new monsters. Naruto fed the shells to his shield. He got two animal tamer shield series. The group then dressed and headed down to the tavern in the inn. Naruto ordered food for the group and the newly hatched animals.
Milly and Rino stayed in town to help with the rebuilding, while Naruto, Sylvie, Raphtalia and the monsters headed out of town. Naruto noticed the animals were growing at an exponential rate. By the time they had come back from training/hunting the pair of animals were now at his waist. He had also had to chide both of them for aggression towards each other several times. It did appear that they did listen to him, but there seemed to be a deep anger between the two of them. He also found that the filolial liked to run while the dragon liked to fly instead of run, but the flight was limited. There was limited fighting with other animals for the two to take out their aggression. The two seemed to want to please Naruto as their parent, so they would at least get along for the most part. When they got back into the town. He fed them some of the Chimera meat and this caused them to grow even more. By that night they were up to his chest in height. At this point they were level 3.
That night Naruto left a clone with the animals and gave them their names. Raphtalia chided Naruto for not being too creative for the filolial, in that he named it 'Filo', but the bird liked its name. The dragon was named, 'Ryoko', which it seemed to like. They also found out that the dragon was a Wyr type dragon. This was a real find. Most dragons were Tyrella type dragons, but Ryoko was a mix of Pureblood and Tyrella. Also, another attribute was that they were the most loyal type of dragons around. The clone kept watch on Filo and Ryoko. Both seemed happy with the clone and went to sleep in the stalls.
The group headed to the baths again that night. The subject of the discussion was Filo and Ryoko. The group went to bed and woke up the next day to find Milly in bed with the usual trio. She wasn't wearing anything. Naruto being the first to wake found the weight of Milly on him. He reached down and found out that she was without clothes. He whispered into her ear, "Milly-chan, why are you naked?"
She sleepily replied, "My hero Naruto…"
Naruto chuckled and said, "We have another rabbit…"
Raphtalia sighed and opened eyes, "Already. I thought it would be me. I just hope that the others that are going to join use aren't going to pull this."
Naruto chuckled and said, "I can make a clone for each of you."
Raphtalia glared at him and said, "That isn't the point. Bunny is first wife. I'm second wife. I've staked my claim. Looks like Milly is working on third."
Naruto sighed and asked, "Why couldn't I get this type of attention when I was in my world?"
Raphtalia laid on her side and replied, "Would you have known how to deal with it?"
Naruto looked her in the eyes and replied, "No, not really. I guess I'm starting to figure out what Teme was going through."
Raphtalia replied, "Maybe, maybe not. Ours is more tailored to you and what we do know about you from working with you and getting to know you. Rather than idolizing you from afar and knowing nothing about you."
Naruto nodded and said, "You do have a point. Each of you has a reason to like me and follow me."
Raphtalia nodded and said, "Yes, at first it was more than likely a hero complex or more like you saving us, but now it is more. We've grown with you."
Naruto chuckled and said, "Literally. Going from around ten to eighteen with me."
Raphtalia replied, "I'm glad you didn't treat us like daughters."
Naruto asked, "Why would I do that? You maybe chronologically be ten or so, but you have physically grown to eighteen and mentally you are more than likely at the same level as me. We will let Erosenin decide if you guys are old enough mentally to make that decision."
Milly sat up and stretched out. Thus, showing Naruto her whole front. Raphtalia commented, "Well that leaves nothing to the imagination."
Milly looked confused and looked down. She noticed no top and sitting on top of Naruto. She blushed bright red. She stuttered out, "I'm sorry, master. I am yours anyways to do with as you see fit. If you want to take me now, you can."
Naruto closed his eyes and shook his head. He then said, "That won't be necessary. Is there a reason that you came over here naked?"
Milly nodded and replied meekly, "You're warm. I also like you."
Naruto smiled and said, "Well next time keep some clothes on and you can come over and sleep with us. Like I've said before. We don't need any unexpected pregnancies. It might be fun, but we're not ready for that yet."
She bowed her head and said, "Yes master Naruto."
He lifted her chin and said, "I do appreciate the gesture. Now we need to continue to work on the town, leveling and our new recruits, Filo and Ryoko."
The group nodded and all of them got dressed and entered the stables. They found the clone snuggled on one side by a large white/pink filolial and on the other by a white dragon with red wings and red spinal barbs, both with blue eyes. The girls said as one, "Ah!"
This disturbed the monsters and the clone. The clone sat up and asked, "So, boss, what are they going to do today?"
Naruto replied, "First is breakfast, then we are going to have some training for each of them."
The clone nodded and said, "Now you two need to listen to the boss."
Both of the creatures seemed to be happy and made a happy squawk and growl. They turned to Naruto and the clone disappeared. He guided them to the chimera carcass. Which they began to devour. The girls watched in morbid fascination. A clone then brought out several scrolls. He handed them to each member and disappeared. Everyone except for Rino was able to get their breakfast out of the scroll. Naruto helped her and they all ate. Afterwards Raphtalia and Milly stayed in the village while Naruto, Sylvie, Rino, Filo and Ryoko went into the woods.
After taking out some of the local monsters Filo basically laid down. Ryoko pushed Naruto to Filo. Naruto then mounted Filo like he was about to ride a horse. Filo Squawked in glee and began to run. Naruto easily grabbed on the feathers at the base of her neck and allowed her to take him for a ride. Sylvie was about to try to catch them but Ryoko got in front of her and shook its head. Sylvie just patted the dragon's head. The dragon began to purr and close its eyes. Sylvie sighed and said, "Well while they're gone why don't we continue to train?"
Sylvie, Rino and Ryoko continued to clear the area of monsters. A couple hours later Filo came trotting back with Naruto. He seemed to be no worse for the wear. He then said, "She is fairly fast. We might just be able to make it to the border with her. I wonder how fast Ryoko is?" He dismounted Filo and walked over to Ryoko the dragon lowered its head and Naruto laid on its back. Ryoko flapped its wings and it began to take off shakily. Naruto didn't seem the least bit disturbed. At first Ryoko didn't gain any altitude, but after a few minutes it began to climb. This continued for about a half hour, as the dragon took its master on a meandering tour of the sky. The landing was kind of scary for the girls until Naruto jumped off of Ryoko and ran beside the dragon. He exclaimed, "You can do it Ryoko. Slow your self and then put your legs down and begin to run. I'll be right beside you." The girls were impressed by his speed. They couldn't even go that fast using chakra. Ryoko began to faulter and Naruto was right there and used his body to help steady the dragon. This didn't stop the dragon from crash landing on top of Naruto. The girls and Filo came over to the crater and heard laughter coming from the crater. Naruto stood up and was petting Ryoko. He said, "You did good. You just need to bleed more of your speed off."
The dragon looked upset and concerned at Naruto. It growled and made caws at Naruto. He replied, "I'm fine. I'm more worried about you. I'm built rather tough." The dragon was rubbing its head against Naruto with a worried look on its face. If you could say that a dragon could have a worried look. He continued to laugh and hugged the dragon. He then began to inspect the dragon for injuries. He then said, "Level 7 for both of them. I think that we're doing pretty good." He pointed his hand at the dragon and said, "Fast Heal." The dragon was surrounded in yellow light and the scratches and the slight tare on the wing disappeared. The dragon nuzzled Naruto and to his surprise Filo nuzzled the dragon.
Rino looked in confusion and said, "That is unusual. Filolials and dragons usually have a primal hatred. It looks like you've overcome that Master."
Naruto smiled and petted Filo and Ryoko. He then said, "Time to head back to the village. It's getting late."
Naruto looks at the party stats.
Naruto lvl: 31, Jiraiya lvl: 34, Sylvie lvl: 38, Raphtalia lvl: 38, Milly lvl: 36, Rino lvl: 34, Filo lvl: 7, Ryoko lvl: 7. He looked at his shields and looked to see if there were any that he hadn't mastered. Only those that he hadn't hit the level requirements for. He noticed that he had opened both the Filolial and Dragon trees, but both were still locked. He had used a feather and a scale to do this. He had used the eggshells to get the Demon Tamer Shield and Dragon Tamer Shield, respectively. Both were now at their third tier.
Naruto again left a clone with Filo and Ryoko. The rest of the party relaxed in the inn and went to sleep. Naruto woke to find Milly on top of him again, but this time she at least was wearing a nighty and panties. He also felt Sylvie's hand in his pants. He sighed and wondered when he was really going to lose his virginity and to which of the girls. He also figured that the rest would soon follow to not be left out. He sighed heavily. "You don't mind, do you?" He heard Sylvie ask quietly.
Naruto replied, "That is sort of like cheating."
Sylvie smirked and said, "You might be right, but I am a rabbit after all." Both began to chuckle lightly.
Milly began to stir and said, "Your hand isn't as good as what it's holding."
Naruto sighed and said, "What am I going to do with you girls?"
Sylvie replied, "Give us little babies." She extracted her hand and slid out of the bed. He watched as she took off her nightshirt to reveal that she was wearing nothing else. She then bent over and began to dress.
Naruto watched the show and sighed. Milly said, "You are the owner of her and you can either bed her or tell her not to do that."
Raphtalia then spoke up, "He is a teenager like us and likes the view and the attention. I'm sure that our first night with him will be exquisite."
Naruto replied, "I have no clue other than the mechanics. The first would be just that. My first. I would do what I can to make sure that you're happy, but I'm not sure what to do."
Rino groaned and said, "You guys are making me horny."
Naruto apologized, "I'm sorry."
Rino shook her head and said, "Don't worry. After what you've done for me. I'm set for being your fourth wife no matter what. You're too good to worry otherwise."
Naruto just looked at Rino and sighed. He then said in a resigned tone, "Not you too."
Rino winked at Naruto and said, "Of course, Master. We all love our master and want to marry him. He is so selfless."
Naruto shook his head and the group laughed at his red face. They went down and got breakfast. After breakfast the group went out to see Filo and Ryoko. One of the villagers exclaimed, "What are the knights doing here?"
Naruto and the girls took Filo and Ryoko out to see the commotion. Naruto sighed to see Myne holding a scroll and beginning to read, "By royal decree this territory will be given to the Spear Hero for his work in the wave. The first order of business will be a toll for entering and leaving of fifty silver."
There were murmurs of decent. Finally, a villager exclaimed, "Hey that isn't fair!"
Myne raised her head and replied, "You have no right to object."
Naruto chuckled and exclaimed, "Hey Motoyasu! Do you know how much it cost to stay in the inn?" Motoyasu seemed to have no clue. So, Naruto informed him, "It costs one silver per night to stay at the inn and that includes food. You're asking for them to pay for almost two months stay at the in just for ingress and egress from the village… per day. That will bankrupt the village and I don't care if you say it is for the rebuilding fund. It will not make it there. It will dissuade people from coming to village and cause people who live here to leave. You will rule over a ghost territory."
Myne replied angrily, "What do you know? Leave now criminal!"
Villagers became angry and proclaimed their anger at the 'new tax' on their village.
Myne smiled evilly and proclaimed, "You are going against your rightful ruler! Guards!"
Naruto exclaimed, "Enough, I wouldn't fight them! I would just pack up and leave!"
Suddenly a group of masked women appeared in front of Myne. Naruto smirked and the lead woman asked, "I think you know whom we represent?" She then handed Myne a red scroll.
Myne read the scroll and growled. She then exclaimed, "Shield Hero! We want to fight you for the rights for this village!"
Naruto raised and eyebrow. He then asked, "Why?"
Myne was shaking with anger and exclaimed, "It doesn't matter! Just fight us for the village."
Naruto shrugged and the village leader asked, "Please, Shield Hero. We'll do anything."
Naruto sighed and looked at Filo who was growling at the dragon that Motoyasu had rode in on. Naruto looked at Motoyasu and asked, "Are you sure? This will be twice I've beaten you."
Motoyasu laughed and said, "You really think you can beat me with this laughable bird?"
Naruto warned, "I would watch what you say. This bird might not take insults too kindly."
Motoyasu again laughed and said, "This stupid bird couldn't do anything." As he rounded behind Filo.
Filo kicked him. Sending him flying over three meters into a hay pile. Myne chided Naruto and said, "That was low."
Naruto replied, "He was warned."
Myne looked down at Motoyasu and exclaimed, "Someone, healing magic… quickly!"
Naruto sighed and said in an exasperated tone, "Fine, a race will do just fine."
The dragon seemed dismissive of Filo, but growled at Ryoko. Who growled back at Motoyasu's dragon.
Several minutes later Naruto sat mounted on Filo and Motoyasu was mounted on his dragon. Ryoko was being held by Sylvie, but was still growling at the other dragon. The leader of the village was standing in front of the four contestants and said, "The contest is three laps around the village."
Myne said sweetly, "Good luck, Sir Motoyasu."
Naruto chuckled and said, "Filo, now remember what we worked on the other day." Filo squawked happily.
The girls of Naruto's party exclaimed, "Good luck Naruto-kun/Koi!" Ryoko made a loud roar in agreement.
The leader exclaimed, "Ready? Go!"
Naruto and Filo easily took the lead. As they rounded the first corner Naruto noticed the anger in Myne's face. He sighed when he saw her nod to a guard close to her. He didn't see anything else, as he rounded the corner. He reached out and felt those around him and began to sense magic forming in front of him. He exclaimed, "Filo, be ready to jump." Both saw a hole form in front of them, as they were rounding the last corner. Without an order Filo jumped the hole and had to take a wide turn. This wasn't a problem, since they had nearly a half lap lead. This cost them almost an eighth lap of their lead. He stuck his tongue out at Myne. Who threw a fireball at the pair. Naruto quickly brought his shield up and blocked the fireball. This surprised all of those watching. The first princes was interfering in a race.
Naruto chuckled and said, "That is twice! I'm going to make sure that you pay for this Malty!"
Myne growled and exclaimed, "Damn, Devil of the Shield!"
Naruto missed the hole on the next corner and Filo tripped in it. Naruto looked around and glared at the knight. He then said, "Revenge will be mine. You will be shown for what you are to the whole city when I return." He turned to Filo and exclaimed "Fast Heal!" he then mounted Filo and the pair continued. This had cost them most of their lead. Luckily Filo was faster than the dragon.
Naruto growled and explained to Motoyasu as the Spear Hero had nearly caught up, "Your team really doesn't know the idea of a fair race, but that is fine. If you really want a war. I can start to kill off the knights that cast spell against me and that includes your bitch of a cock sleeve."
Motoyasu looked confused and asked, "What are you talking about. This has been a fair race!"
Naruto replied angrily, "Bullshit! A new hole at turn four and again in turn one on our second lap. A fireball. Now a slow spell on me and speed spell on you. I would say that is cheating."
Motoyasu laughed as he passed Naruto and exclaimed, "You just can't stand to lose!" The dragon slapped its tail against Filo's face and knocked her off course. Motoyasu laughed and said, "Take that!"
Naruto steered Filo back to the coarse and said, "Here we go again. Get him clone. Filo, jump!" Filo jumped yet a new hole on the fourth corner. She had almost caught Motoyasu.
Naruto began to smile as he heard Motoyasu exclaim, "What the hell?" Naruto smiled as he was just behind Motoyasu and saw that the knight at was on the corner was now hanging from a tree, missing his armor, and tied up. Naruto began to laugh as they passed the second corner and Filo passed the dragon on the outside easily and they found yet another knight in the same predicament. As they rounded the third corner Naruto and Filo pulled clearly ahead. Naruto shifted Filo to the left, as he heard Motoyasu exclaim, "Chaos Spear!" This left the course pot marked, but missed Naruto and Filo. Naruto laughed as they approached the last corner and yet another knight was strung up.
Naruto and Filo crossed the finish line more than a minute ahead of Motoyasu. Myne growled and waited for Motoyasu to finish the course. She then said, "There is no way that that criminal and his fowl could win. He cheated."
Naruto laughed and replied, "Nah, Filo was a good filolial."
Several women in cloaks and masks appeared and said, "Sir Uzumaki didn't cheat. He didn't use any magic other than a healing spell. We did find spells that came from the Spear Hero's party. Do you wish to argue this Princes?"
Malty gritted her teeth and replied, "No…"
Naruto patted Filo and she suddenly was covered in smoke and changed size into a larger version of herself. This time she looked more like an owl than an ostrich. Ryoko came over and actually nuzzled Filo and was also surrounded by smoke. She also became larger. Both exclaimed into the air in joy. Naruto shook his head in exasperation at the two.
Motoyasu asked, "What is that?"
Naruto patted the red and white dragon and replied, "This is Ryoko. She is my dragon. I would advise you keep on both of their good sides." Both Filo and Ryoko growled at Motoyasu.
He backed up at the look of both animals' anger at him. He was surprised that both a dragon and a filolial were getting along so well together. He then said, "I will get you some day."
Naruto replied, "Do you hear yourself? You sound like a villain."
Milly nodded her head and said, "He actually does."
Motoyasu hadn't listened to Naruto and his group was heading away when he has said his peace. If he had listened and actually thought about what Naruto had said. He might have agreed with him and started to change his way, but it wasn't in his cards for today.
Naruto looked at the Village leader and asked, "So what now?"
The leader said, "We don't know how to repay you. Since you paid us with the spoils of the wave and have been helping us with rebuilding. Now you've kept us from being ruled by a bad lord. What can we do to repay you?"
Filo nodded to a rickety wagon. Naruto asked, "What about that wagon?"
The chief asked, "Is that all? We would certainly give you more."
Naruto shook his head and replied, "We don't really have a need. The wagon will be enough."
The chief bowed and said, "You really are generous. We will make the wagon ready for you."
Naruto bowed and said, "Thank you and we do have to leave soon."
The chief nodded and said, "We are thankful for all the help that you've given us. It should be ready by tomorrow morning. Rest easy my good hero."
Naruto smiled and said, "Just call me Naruto."
The chief nodded and said, "As you wish, Naruto-sama."
Naruto sighed and said, "Do as you wish." Not wanting to fight it.
That night was a celebration for both the party and the town.
A/N: Again, sorry for uploading chapter 6 for chapter 8. I see that you did like it. I'm going ahead and upload this without my Beta this time, since I do have chapter 10 complete and want to keep on a roll. I'm working on chapter 11. I hope you like this chapter. I still would like to thank the help that my Beta has given me so far. I've had a major spike in stress and writing has helped to relieve some of that. Working 6 days a week also puts a strain on a body. I'm also starting a diet change and going an exercise schedule. While this schedule is light for now it is to help take some weight off and help with some pains I have, specifically in my knee. I also think that I will feel better if I can get some exercise. As for the story I have an idea of where I'm going and as you can see, I'm starting to deviate from canon more and more. Next chapter has some canon, but it will go off the cliff, but that is all I can say. I am uploading it to my Beta and will see if they will get to it in the next two weeks. If not, I will publish it. After I make a final edit myself. Filo is similar to canon, but Ryoko is different and that is all that I will say. My health is good and I hope for it to get better.
