Do you know the feeling of desperation? Well, this is it. One video on youtube. ONE VIDEO! And now I'm here. Managed to watch the series, and now I want more. While I am delightfully surprised by the number of TechxRev stories on here, it's not enough. So I did like the old saying, "If you want the job done, do it yourself,". The focus is on the Tech and Rev ship, which is strangely enough also the reason I'm here in the first place. So don't expect too much. Also, this is rated Teen because, well, in case I think this thing is going to need some SPICE at some point. Still, don't expect anyone to randomly say "F**K". Last note, I'm danish, therefore English is not my first language, blah blah blah. Basically, there is a small chance some things may not be written completely right, or are just kinda crap. Enjoy!
PS: Here is a secret. I don't own any of the Loonatics Unleashed characters. Big shocker I know.
"We don't expect to be gone for too long, but just to be safe, we need the two of you here to look after Acmetropolis." Ace explained through the computer screen to Tech and Rev, who patiently sat and listened to their leader speak. Zadavia then appeared on the screen, explaining the rest of the situation
"I hope you will understand. While I know you Loonatics must protect Acmetroplis, it has been too long since I have seen my homeworld of Freleng. Now that my brother is locked away in a wormhole, I think it is finally time for me to see my home again. But the way is long and dangerous. That's why I need the rest with me. Once again, thank you for doing this favor for me."
"Eh, no problem. You know we will always be happy to help you." Ace said with a hand wave to Zadavia. "And since the two you pair up so nicely while we're gone, I thought It made sense to leave Acmetroplois in your hands."
"Of course!" Tech exclaimed. "Trust me, the city will be completely safe in my hands."
Rev then pushed his head past Tech and stuck his face right up to the screen.
"And-mine-as-well-I'm-so-happy-to-know-that-you-trust-us-not-that-you-always-trust-us-I-know-you-do-but-this-time-it-means-specifically-much-me-" He was cut short when the bewildered Tech managed to grip Rev by his beak, shutting him up for a moment. He then looked back at the screen with a certain form of class, as if he wasn't holding his friend's mouth in his hand at that moment.
"Us. It means a lot to us."
Rev managed to free his beak, and looked insulted at Tech and said;
"I-was-just-about-to-say-that." Tech let out a small chuckle.
"Don't worry, everything will be fine while you're gone. Everything on your ship is also accounted for."
"Yeah-I-have-double-checked-and-triple-checked-all-the-levels-rooms-and-any-other-space-on-the-ship-and-everything-should-be-there-exepct-for-soda-hey-Tech-did-we-remeber-the-soda?"
Tech let out a small sigh and with a tired voice whispered;
"Yes, we remembered the soda, Rev."
"That won't do any good, if we don't go as soon as possible before Slam manages to eat and drink everything edible on the ship-IS THAT MY SANDWICH!" Duck yelled from somewhere on the other side of the screen, followed by the sound of someone desperately running, and someone loudly eating.
"Duck will you knock it off, we're saying goodbye to Tech and Re-wait, that's my sandwich!" Lexi followed up with, who then also was followed by the sound of someone running.
"Huff, huff, well then you should have put a name on it." A tired Duck said to Lexi while eating something. The sound of Lexi's brain blast then echoed out from the screen, soon followed by Duck's scream of pain.
"Watch the feathers, you overgrown lucky foot!" Duck yelled.
Ace, who in contrast to Zadavia, hadn't looked back at his crew, and instead just looked drained, while starring at the screen, and on the concerned faces of Tech and Rev.
"Yeah, everything here will also be just fine. But I won't promise the ship will come back in one piece."
Tech worryingly nodded.
"Duly noted."
Zadavia turned her attention back to the screen.
"W-well then, I think it's time to start our journey. We will keep up communications, so if anything happens that you need help with, just call us."
"Understood," Tech said, not fully convinced that they would be able to help when they would be hundreds of light-years away.
"Have fun you two, Ace out." The screen then turned black, reflecting the faces of the two loonatics left in Acmetropolis.
Tech leaned back in his chair with a sigh, looking forward to working in his lab, now with silence and peace. That fantasy was, however, quickly shattered as the roadrunner let out a scream of excitement, jumping up in the air, and running in circles around the control room. As the sound of papers and other random items flying around the room reached the coyote's ears, he let them fall and slapped his face with his hand. While slowly pulling his hand down, he thought to himself;
Why do I keep happily forgetting about the running hurricane that follows, when I'm left alone with him.
Contradicting his thoughts, a small smile formed across his face.
Rev then suddenly stopped, papers flying over him, and landing in front of him. With the excitement of a child at a theme park, he looked at Tech and said;
"Oh-this-is-so-exiting-for-the-first-time-we-can-be-alone-without-the-others-and-can-do-watever-we-want-and-make-snacks-without-Slam-or-Duck-eating-it-before-I-can-even-taste-it!" He somewhat shouted the last part, and chuckled in embarrassment.
Tech who had quickly recovered from the outburst looked puzzled at his friend.
"First time? You do remember we two have been left behind before. In fact, I think this is the second or third time we've been in this situation."
"Yeah-I-know-that-but-those-other-times-lasted-closer-to-a-day-or-a-little-longer-but-now-the-others-could-be-gone-for-days-weeks-or-even-months." His face then lighted up with realization.
"Oh-that-reminds-me-that-we-talked-about-checking-everything-was-taking-care-of-for-the-ship-which-makes-me-think-I-should-probably-check-if-the-tower-is-okay-and-all-doors-and-windows-are-locked-and-that-we-have-enough-food-and-drinks-I-will-be-back-in-five-seconds-maybe-ten-if-there-is-any-problems-which-I-then-will-instantly-take-care-of-see-you-soon." Rev then ran off, pushing the papers into the air again. Tech looked at him in the short second he was still visible and turned his attention back to the wall of screens and computers. There he fell into his thoughts.
He does have a point. We haven't tried being alone for so long. I usually I would make the time go with checking the security system, our energy output, and working in my lab. I should probably prepare for something to do. Maybe a new invention? I have been thinking of upgrading my-
His train of thought was derailed, as Rev appeared right by his side. Tech got surprised, and with a small yelp fell from his chair. Rev just stood and stared down at him, with the expression of a puppy.
"Oh-sorry-there-Tech-didn't-mean-to-surprise-you." He tried smiling at the coyote, who returned with an irritated grunt.
"That was way longer than ten seconds. Thought you had gone to do something else."
"No-I-just-got-so-hungry-all-of-a-sudden-and-took-something-quickly-to-eat." He then extended an arm to Tech to help him up. Tech took it, and was helped up a little faster than he had anticipated, and wobbled a bit, trying to find his footing. Rev then pulled a half-eaten sandwich from behind his back.
"Hey-you-want-the-rest?"
Tech looked down on the sandwich, and then back at Rev.
"Yeah, no thanks."
"Suit-yourself." He then put it in his mouth and ate it in one bite. "As-I-said-I-took-something-to-eat-so-I-didn't-actually-check-every-level-which-I-will-go-do-now-bye." He then speeded away again, and also again, Tech followed him in the short time he was still visible. He then went back to his seat and sat down.
Maybe I should think of something to do with Rev.
Tech was sitting in his lab, working on a circuit board. He was trying to make a few upgrades to the Gluco-Gel 9000, specifically trying to limit how much ammunition it would have to use. He was planning on working with this project until the others would come back, so he would have something to do while he and Rev waited. He was planning to find something the two of them could do together, but as his ingenuity only extended to science, and not fun activities, he was pretty much blank. The best he could come up with was asking Rev if he would help him with his project. He thought it seemed suitable. It was after all what they usually do together. It reminded him of that time he helped Rev with his project to impress his father.
Yeah, that was fun. And not a bad design he came up with. Well, of course, I could come up with something better, but that's just natural. Still, he could have tried being more careful. Falling down a canyon two times, are two times for many. Ugh, why did I even help him?
As the thought struck his mind, he surprisingly froze up. It was as if a well full of kept down thoughts and feelings came crawling up. Even though it was a simple question, it seemed as if his entire mind had to push everything aside, just to focus on it.
Why did I help him? Was it because he begged? No, it was just because he was a friend who asked for help. That's it, I just helped a friend.
He was about to resume his work when he froze up again.
A friend whose dad hates my guts, simply because I dare to exist. And I said yes to help Rev, so he could impress that person. And all the credit would have to go to Rev, for that to work. So why did I help? And now that I think about it because I helped Rev, Rip while under the control of the brain parasite, had something to use against the city. And before that, the success of the Robo amigo was what pushed Rip to take the parasite. So me helping Rev, led to that disaster in the first place. And then I agreed to help him, again. I did say it was because I wanted to find out how something I had designed broke down. While that was one reason, now that I think back to it, it shouldn't have been enough. So why did I help?"
He sat and continued to contemplate the question, rolling a screwdriver back and forth on his desk. He was then interrupted when he heard a familiar gush of wind behind him. He looked behind and saw Rev standing there, holding something behind his back.
"Hey-Tech-funny-to-find-you-here." He said, with the hint of nervousness behind his words. Tech just looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
"I have been sitting here for nearly five hours." He asked, confused.
"A-already? Time-sure-does-go-f-fast-some-times." He said, the nervousness now very much clear.
"I kinda expected you of all people to know the feeling," Tech explained, starting to wonder what made his friend so nervous.
Rev then quickly got closer to Tech, who now could see sweat slowly dribble from the roadrunner's feathers.
"Hey-can-I-ask-you-something?" He anxiously asked Tech, who himself was starting to get nervous.
"Y-yeah, sure. What is it?" Tech asked, and then quickly started to assume he said something wrong, as more sweat started to appear on Rev's feathers.
"O-oh-its-nothing-I-j-just-thought-since-we're-going-to-have-a lot-of-free-time-together-I-thought-we-could-" He then paused and started to breathe in air, trying to relax. Which single-handedly worried Tech more than any of the other things. Rev then finally breathed out and continued talking, but now did it at normal speed.
"I just wanted to know if you would watch this, with me." He then held out the thing from his back. Tech looked down on it and realized it was a DVD case. On the case, it said 'Turbowars: Origins'. He hadn't heard much about it, but what he did know, was that it was the prequel to some less-than-mediocre science fiction movie. Rev nervously chuckled and scratched the back of his head. Meanwhile, Tech just kinda stared from the DVD to Rev, then back to the DVD again. A look of disappointment and sadness spread on the bird's face, but it was hard to tell who it was directed to.
"You're-right-its-a-stupid-idea-I-will-just-leave-you-to-your-work-"
"WAIT!" Tech shouted, right before Rev would run away. The shout seemed to surprise Tech as much as Rev, who both stood still for a moment. Tech was the first to speak again.
"Uhm. I mean, yes, I would like to watch it with you." Rev's face immediately lit up like a lamb, his eyes practically sparkling.
"REALLY!?" He asked in disbelief, nearly butting his head against Tech's.
"Yeah really. When do you want to watch it?"
"Wow-if-I-have-to-be-honest-I-didn't-expect-to-get-this-far-so-I-really-didn't-think-about-that-but-now-that-I-do-think-about-I-think-I-have-an-idea-of-a-perfect-time-that-we-could-" He was cut short when Tech grabbed his beak.
"Within the next hour, please." He said, annoyed. He then let go.
"How-about-at-seven?"
"Sounds fine to me," Tech said with a smile.
"Great-then-I-guess-I-will-see-you-soon-bye." Rev then ran off.
Tech then returned to his work, but he was still distracted by his thoughts.
I don't think I have seen a bad science fiction movie for fun since I was a student. But, who knows, it might be funnier than I remember it to be.
It was now exactly seven, and Tech was making his way to the living room. He had continued working after Rev left and normally would have gone to his room to relax. But tonight, he had plans for a change. When he finally reached the door and opened it, the crispy smell of popcorn instantly reached his nose. In the living room, Rev was currently stacking about eight separate bowls of popcorn on one side of a rolling table, and on the other side, there were twenty classes of different liquids, also stacked on each other.
"Uhm…" Tech muttered, slightly concerned. Rev heard him and instantly appeared in front of him, holding two bowls of popcorn.
"Hey-Tech-old-buddy-old-pal-glad-that-you-came." Tech notice that Rev was wearing his pajamas, minus his hat. Tech was still wearing his loonatic uniform, which he hadn't changed out of at any point in the day, which he felt embarrassed by.
"Of course I came. I made a promise. Besides, we're the only ones here so there isn't that much else to do." He then looked down on the bowls of popcorn in Rev's arms.
"Rev, can you tell me why there is so much-"
"Oh-the-popcorn!" Rev interrupted him. "Well-you-see-I-didn't-know-which-ones-you-liked-so-I-got-popcorns-with-salt-butter-sugar-and-everything-in-one."
"And what about the glasses?" Tech asked, and pointed at the small tower behind Rev.
"The-same-with-the-popcorn-so-I-just-took-whatever-we-had-and-filled-it-in-the-glasses." Tech then crossed his arms and looked accusingly at Rev.
"Do you remember what you filled in the glasses?" He asked, and immediately a stroke of panic crossed Rev's face.
"Heh, heh, no…"
Tech just let out a sigh.
"What-about-that-we-just-sit-down?" Rev then placed the bowls on the table. He then pushed it over to the tv. To Tech's surprise, the two towers didn't fall on the floor. He then sat down on the couch, and Rev immediately jumped to his side and started the movie.
What followed was a sad attempt at a serious science fiction movie, which was kept down by terrible writing, mediocre effects, but strangely enough, good acting. The acting was pretty professional and straightfaced, which just made the rest of the movie look out of place. But Tech found out that Rev seemed to like the movie, and even the series it came from. Because Rev kept talking about what the things in the movie were the backstory for in the others. Cobbled together with the movie, it was a less than desirable situation, that Tech found himself in. The only thing that Tech was doing was eating from one of the bowls of popcorn, and trying to find a drink he liked. Then at some point, something happened in the movie, and he snapped. But in a good way.
"Come on! That is totally unrealistic." Tech said, surprising Rev who stopped talking and instead looked at his friend in bewilderment, which quickly turned to amusement.
"Whats-unrealistic?" He asked Tech, who formed a small smile and placed his feet on the side table in front of the couch, and his hands behind his head.
"That plasma gun there. It wouldn't work." He explained in short, with a hint of smugness. Rev, who was starting to catch up with the coyotes game, raised his eyebrow and asked amused;
"And-why-is-that-super-genius?"
"Well for starters, they say that it's powered by the nuclear power core on its side. But that's impossible. It's too small to work."
"And-how-do-you-know-that?" Rev asked, now fully turned away from the tv, only focusing on Tech.
"Because they even though they say ist a nuclear power core, one so small couldn't be able to power such a powerful blast. Especially when we see it being used to explode ships and tanks."
"How-do-you-know-that-they-haven't-found-someway-to-make-smaller-cores-while-making-more-energy-it-after-all-only-falls-down-on-technicalities," Rev explained, seemingly finding his and Tech's conversation more interesting than the rest of the movie. In that regard, Tech especially felt the same way.
"Trust me, I have tried myself. No way that it could work, not even in the future. For crying out loud, it's set only a few hundred years in the future! And we both know, that my inventions are still hundreds of years more advanced than that."
"Feeling-a-bit-adventures-with-the-claims-tonight-Tech?" Rev teased him, already starting to giggle, seeing his reaction.
"Oh, we are not having this conversation," Tech stated, before chugging down whatever was in his glass, which the only thing he knew about it, was that it tasted like strawberries. Rev began to quietly laugh until he turned away from Tech.
"Whatever-you-say-buddy." He said, and then started focusing on the movie again. While Tech didn't exactly look forward to continuing watching, he thankfully didn't have to, as he was getting lost in his thoughts.
How could it be we don't do this more often? We are friends after all, and this is what friends do, right? Well, we do things together. It's just that usually, or nearly always, it's Rev helping me in the lab. And there he just helps me giving me my tools, comes with ideas or helps me build. Now that I think about it, that doesn't exactly seem right. I do like spending time with him, and he seems happy to be with me. Then why-
He was startled when he felt something heavy and warm on his shoulder. He looked down, and saw Rev's head, resting on him. He seemed to be asleep. He looked over on a clock and saw that it was nine.
Already two hours! How long is this film!?
He thought to himself, before turning his attention back to Rev, whose face was still turned against the tv. Tech was wondering if he should wake him up, or lay him down on the couch until. But then he felt something. It was something that started from his shoulder and arm and slowly went into his chest and heart. It was a form of panic, as Tech began to breathe irregularly, and tried to sit still, but at the same time started to slightly fidget. Before Tech could start analyzing what was happening, a new sensation crept into his system. He was starting to feel really, really hot. While it was mostly concentrated on his side, where Rev laid, it was still burning around in his whole body. It didn't take him long to figure out why this was happening, as his mind was screaming 'REV!'. Still, he didn't know what was happening or why. All he knew was that sweat was slowly starting to form under his suit. He could even feel some of it starting to penetrate out of the fabric, and gliding down.
Why is this happening? Why is it happening? He kept asking himself, as all of the sensations either kept rising or stayed the same, with no sign of going down. He could feel himself blushing from under his fur. He then looked back down on rev, who seemed to be perfectly comfortable.
Is it because of him? Why is it because of him?
What before was a sensation of panic, was starting to turn into a full-on panic attack. While Tech hoped he could start figuring out how to stop all of this from continuing, he was still trying to figure out where all of it came from. Apparently what had been a well, was an ocean of feelings and thoughts, which was drowning the poor coyote. Then when Rev sleepily slung his arm around Tech, holding on to his other shoulder, everything became so intense, that he practically froze. But through the incoherent emotions and sensations, his body started doing something, he didn't tell it to. His arm slowly raised itself and was making its way to Rev's arm. While tech didn't know what his body was planning, he wouldn't find out, as a giant explosion came from the tv.
Rev had in his sleep, accidentally sat on the remote, that was between him and Tech. He had also managed to turn the volume all the way up. And since it was one of those TVs with a volume setting higher than any human could ever need, one could say it was pretty loud.
The explosion was then followed up by Rev screaming, and him practically jumping into Tech, slinging his arms around him. Rev's scream was then followed up by Tech's scream, who had gotten nearly as surprised as Rev. And as a reflex, he had taken his arms around Rev like he was trying to protect him. In the small moment that followed, a thought struck his mind.
Usually, it's Rev comforting me. While he doesn't wrap his arms around me, he usually pads me on the back or touches my shoulder, while we work together. Why did I forget he did that? Maybe that's why I like working with him.
He returned to reality, to find Rev still wrapped around him, and Tech wrapped around him. While they both wore clothes, he could feel Rev's feathers touching his cheek and neck. While it did tickle a bit, it mostly felt nice, and soothing. At that moment, some primal part of him wanted to squeeze Rev closer, to better feel his feathers against his fur. He didn't have the chance to act, as Rev let go of him, and jumped back to his seat.
"Wow-I-swear-I-thought-the-building-was-collapsing-around-us-and-then-you-screamed-and-I-thought-that-the-roof-would-fall-down-on-us-and-splatter-us-and-turn-us-completely-flat!" He then laughed, oblivious to the fact that Tech was still stuck in the position he was in when he held onto him. When he was done laughing, he finally noticed, and curiously asked;
"Uhm-Tech-are-you-okay-there?" Tech then snapped back to reality, and while bewildered, looked back at rev.
"Y-yeah Rev, I'm fine. I'm fine." it seemed like Rev was going to ask him something else when he noticed the tv.
"Wait-its-already-over? I-had-heard-they-were-making-this-one-shorter-but-still-this-is-ridiculous."
"This was the short one?!" Tech asked, feeling a sense of dread. Rev then looked over at the clock and realized what the time was.
"Yeah-maybe-I-should-had-chosen-a-better-time-to-start-watching." Rev then picked up the remote and turned off the tv.
"Well-I-guess-it's-time-to-cleanup."
"Probably. Should I just take care of the bowls or-" Tech decided to stop talking, as Rev began quickly picking up the bowls and drinks, chucking the leftovers liquids in a sink and the popcorn on a bin. He then took all of the bowls and glasses and put them in the dishwasher and then came back to tech.
"-Should I just do nothing." Tech finished, with a defeated sigh. Rev then looked back at the clock, and then on Tech.
"Well-I'm-going-to-bed-now-I'm-for-some-reason-feeling-tired-see-you-tomorrow-goodnight!" Rev said, before running into halls, leaving a tired and confused Tech behind. Many thoughts whirled around inside his head. Did Rev remember falling asleep on him? Did he remember how they both clung to each other? But all Tech could think of doing was sheepishly waving his hand and saying;
"Goodnight, Rev."
Wait! There's more! As you might be guessing, there is going to be more chapters coming. While I do understand that you maybe would rather have I uploaded it all in one go, thing is, I would like to have some feedback first. And counter-intuitive to that, I won't be going over every chapter and updating them, unless of course, it is completely broken and unreadable. Unless you give me some specific examples, I will wait with correcting this story until I'm done with writing it. Hope it doesn't bother you too much. See you next time. If you want to find out what happens next. *Wink*
