She began to whimper slightly and turned to look up at him. "What is it with people keeping secrets from me?"
Gibbs replied gently. "They had their reasons."
"Like you did?" She said simply, not angry but desperate to understand.
"Sometimes secrets change things."
"Your secret didn't change anything…I would always love you Gibbs, no matter what."
"It changed something."
"No it didn't." She shook her head. "You're still the door I land in front of when my world is falling apart…"
Gibbs noticed the tears in her eyes and opened his arms to hold her again.
She obliged. "I would have understood…no matter what the reason…"
"I know."
"I'm pretty understanding…"
"I know."
"Why didn't they trust me?"
Gibbs held her tighter as he listened to her begin to cry. "Shhh…it's alright."
It was after a few minutes of tears that she exhausted herself enough to rest her eyes and muffled into his chest. "Love you Gibbs."
He managed a small smile before reassuring her with words he rarely ever spoke; but she had always been the exception to any rule…. "Love you too Abs."
