Welcome to the second attempt of my popular, but sadly shelved, Venom: Lethal Justice!

My last attempt at this story wasn't well planned, and it was rushed by the end, which was why it was put on hiatus along with all my other stories until I could reevaluate. In that time, I was coming up with ideas for new stories, mainly a crossover/parody between Hazbin Hotel and The Mask. The former of which I was hooked on since the pilot was released back in 2019, and the latter being one of my all-time Jim Carrey favorites, which was sadly ruined by the controversial Son of the Mask (a guilty pleasure of mine, sorry). It will be coming soon once I focus on this one first.

Anyway, for this new attempt, I won't be featuring Dragonlord0's OC, Sean Kruger. Instead I'm going to come up with something more independent, but I'll probably still get support from him. And this time I'm only pairing Eddie/Venom with Wonder Woman, or maybe even Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn. And the characters will be more fleshed out than last time. Basically, my first attempt was like Joss Whedon's downgraded cut of Justice League (aka Josstice League); light, soft, less violence, anything that goes with a PG-13 rating. This time, this attempt will be more like Zack Snyder's more successful cut of Justice League (#RestoretheSnyderVerse), being more darker, bloodier, and having more mature themes in an M-rated / R-rated story.

I do not own any characters unless they are created by me. Venom is property of Marvel, and Justice League is property of DC.

Enjoy!

Gotham City

It was dark in Gotham, and that was a bad thing for the weak and helpless as those who would prey on them come out to get their fresh pickings, and nobody survives the night of Gotham without survivor skills. The rules of the homeless of Gotham was killed or be killed, don't trust anybody, survive. Not many survive the nights of Gotham. For all the good its protector, the Batman does, the evils of Gotham would always find a way to try again thanks to his increasingly soft ways of dealing with crime.

Right now, two men were trying to rape a woman. "Get off me!" The woman sobbed as one of the men held her arms while the second was between her legs, pulling his trousers down.

"She'll be a tight one." The second man laughed. "I like tight ones."

"Then you're gonna love us." A deep, demonic voice said beside him and a fist punched him straight in the face, sending him flying back as the second man lets go of the woman and runs for it in fear before a black tendril suddenly reached out and grabbed him around the waist."Leaving so soon?" He lifted up the man and slammed him headfirst into the ground hard, his neck snapping could be heard before the creature made his way over to the second quivering man.

The apparent leader of the two recovered from the blow and spun around to see the punk who tried to ruin his and his buddy's fun... and fell on his ass in shock and fear at the sight before him.

The "punk" in front of him stood around 8 feet tall, and he could see that the bastard was ripped. For a second he almost thought it was that Bane freak that was constantly trying to kill the Bat. When he finally got a clear look, his fear intensified; Its entire body was as black as the darkness, with white vines bulging all over. The face was truly horrifying; white jagged eyes that stared at him with sheer malice, and a mouth stretched into a grin, baring a line of large, sharp, needle-like teeth that salivated with hunger.

"Stay back!" He squealed desperately and backed away as far as he was able before hitting a wall. No doubt he was thinking that a demon had come to kill him.

The thing cocked his head quizzically at the would be rapist. "You don't actually expect us to listen to you, do you?"

"I'll give you anything you want!"

The creature gazed contemplatively at the terrified man, idly noting that the other had just died. "We suppose that we could let you go, if you did something for us."

The man's face lit up with hope. "Anything you want, I'll do it, just don't kill me please!"

The creature nodded and gave his terms. "We want you to give us one of your arms, and then one of your legs, and perhaps one of your eyes, and maybe we'll let the police come for you… assuming you don't bleed out when they find you."

The previously hopeful visage turned ashen. "Please don't kill me!" He begged desperately.

"I guess that means that you won't do as we said?" the thing asked rhetorically. "That's not very nice, you already said that you'd do anything. Going back on your word like that is really bad form." He scolded as he wagged a clawed finger at the thug.

"I don't wanna die!" the rapist wailed, tears and snot now running down his face in rivers.

"And we're sure that the lady over there didn't want to be raped either, but that didn't seem important to you, so we're really confused by your behavior." The creature said in a tone of mild confusion even as he looked at the man with a hungry stare. "Weren't we all doing whatever we wanted without regard for others?"

"You-you don't get me! I've got a problem! I-"

"You what? You were born with uncontrollable urges? Raped as a helpless little boy? That's what others before you told us. Didn't save their sorry asses."

Without warning, the creature wrapped his large hand around his neck and lifted him off the ground, his hungry gaze intensifying as he brought the thug closer, who looked close to pissing himself from the sheer amount of fear of what was coming; he and his pal had gotten away with what they were about to do with that lady for so long, and now that his friend fell first, he knew he was about to get killed by something worse than the Bat… something that won't show mercy.

"Wha-what the fuck are you!?" the thug finally screamed loud enough for his voice to be heard.

Then the right side of the creature's face opened up to reveal half of a man's face, covered in dark veins and slightly-moving tendrils, giving him an almost infected appearance.

"We… are Venom." the two sides spoke at the same time before reforming fully back into the creature's grinning visage.

"And you… are dinner."

The gaping maw opened impossibly wide, and the thug screamed in the highest voice as possible as the beast lunged forward.

The woman shut her eyes and covered her ears to block out the crunching and tearing of flesh and animalistic growls as the beast dug into its meal. When she was certain it was over, she reopened her eyes and uncovered her ears, until she heard heavy breathing from the monster and heavy footsteps coming in her direction. She closed her eyes once more, expecting to be killed any second, but to her surprise the now named Venom just stood in front of her. Slowly opening her eyes, she looked up at the creature's face staring down at her with kind eyes, despite their menacing shape, while holding a jacket that he had ripped from the other would-be rapist.

"You really should keep out of dark alleys." he said as he tossed the jacket in front of the woman before turning to the exit of the alley, but the woman suddenly reached out and grabbed his leg.

"Wait…"

The creature turned back around, looking at her.

"…thank you…" she told him tearfully as she quickly placed the jacket on.

Venom softly growled in approval, before hearing the sound of police sirens approaching from a few blocks away. Seeing his cue, Venom leaped onto the walls before climbing onto the roof and disappearing, leaving the woman in awe at her savior until the police would eventually come and escort her home… and to collect the bodies of her would-be rapists.

Plus the cops are gonna have to work overtime to identify the mangled corpse of the leader.

Venom raced across the rooftops, leaping from roof to roof, and sometimes using his tendrils to help swing across other buildings before stopping at the top of a tall building, and observing the city and its skyline, the blimps shining their lights on the city to fish out any crime in progress. Perhaps they should check harder after what almost happened.

Venom's maw began to open until his head and lower jaw sank into his neck, and the rest of his body began to sink within and his large size shrunk to six feet, revealing the rest of the person underneath the ooze; a man with short black hair and a stubble, a black jacket with a grey shirt underneath, blue jeans and black shoes.

Eddie Brock, a once-disgraced reporter, now a full time journalist… and an elusive vigilante thanks to an alien ooze he had inadvertently saved from the Life Foundation's experiments. The life-form, Venom, was initially on board with his kind's plan to spread across different planets once their own couldn't sustain them.

Now, after saving the Earth from a potential invasion of his own kind by killing Riot and his host, Carlton Drake, the one responsible for bringing him, Riot, and two of his kind to this planet, he had a different purpose: to feast on those who have gotten away with hurting and killing innocent people.

At first, Venom thought it would be fun to hunt and eat whoever his host told him to, as long as they're bad people, until Eddie had made it absolutely clear to not get lost in the rush. There was no joy in killing, even if their victims deserved it like those two rapists, but it's the most efficient way to end the worst crimes. Purse snatchers or other thieves can only be considered mere annoyances that deserve a good scare, but murderers, rapists, pedophiles, and terrorists have committed things that cost them the right to be human… plus an arm, and a leg, and a few heads. So, after three months of peace and quiet in San Francisco, they decided to take a vacation to other crime-ridden cities, starting with Gotham, the home of the Batman.

They didn't care if the Justice League see them as a threat because of their methods, or if the Avengers want to sign them up simply because they have the balls to do what the JL won't. They had only one rule: Protect the innocent… kill the guilty. The way they see it… they can do whatever they want.

For they were the Lethal Protector.

A/N: Here's the first part of the rewrite of the original story. An improved intro to our favorite Lethal Protector and his host. Sorry it took so long. I was planning to release this chapter near the end of March, but I was focused on college work online that I had to delay it.

Speaking of which, adding to my frustration was the announcement that Venom: Let There Be Carnage has been delayed yet again to September, but I hope we can at least get a teaser trailer sometime this month or the next. If there isn't… there's gonna be Carnage… or a Riot (obviously not the latter since he's dead).

I'll update the next chapter as soon as I can. Stay tuned!
