Chapter 5: Toad Sage Jr (3/4)

Hyūga Compound:

Hyūga Hinata had returned home after having lunch with the others, who all went on their separate ways after Seiyru left with his father. She walked by herself through the corridors of the Hyūga Compound, carrying the beautiful bouquet that she received from Seiyru. I can't believe Seiyru actually gave this to me. Hinata thought happily.

Suddenly, while she was distracted due to starring at the bouquet, she accidentally bumped into someone. "S-sorry." She quickly apologized. Then she saw that the one she has bumped into by accident, was her cousin. "Goo-good night, N-neji." She greeted him.

But, her cousin didn't greet her in return. Instead, he just stared at her with his usual cold glare. Then he noticed what she was carrying it and opened his mouth to say something, but...

"Did you buy yourself a bouquet?" Hinata was surprised by hearing someone speaking from behind her, she turned around and saw that it was only her sister, Hanabi.

"N-no." Hinata quickly replied while hugging the bouquet tightly.

Hanabi made a confused face for a second, until she widened her eyes in realisation. "Did that boy that asked you out the other day gave it to you?" She asked.

Hinata's face quickly turned red after she said that. "W-what?!" It was her reaction.

"The one with the white hair that brought you home alongside that boy with the ugly helmet." Hanabi explained. "You passed out after he asked you."

"Y-yo-you we-were w-watching us?" Hinata stuttered more than usual due to the embarrassment.

"I was training outside, but I only heard part of the conversation." Hanabi answered her question. "So, what's his name? Are you going out with him? Is he strong?" With that, she started to bombard her sisters with questions after questions.

In the meantime, their cousin just stood there listen to their conversation in curiosity. Manly because there was something in particular that he wanted to know, and Hinata was the only one that could answer his question. Even though, he would rather not waste his time with her, he really needed to know if what he heard around the compound is true.

"It... It w-was indeed t-the s-same boy." Hinata replied to her sister.

"I knew it! So, who is he? What's his name?" Her sister asked in complete curiosity.

"H-he's my teammate, Senju Seiyru." Hinata answered her sister's question.

That, surprisingly, was exactly what Hyūga Neji wanted to know. So it's true. He has been hearing rumors around the village that a unexpected member of the legendary Senju Clan has appeared in Konoha. Who happened to be the son of two of the Legendary Three Ninjas. He also heard his Sensei commenting that his eternal rival was the one training him. But above all that, he heard that Hinata was put on the same team as him. Regardless of his heritage, he is still only a person and just because he is related to famed and powerful Shinobi's. It does not necessarily mean that he will be as strong as them. Neji remained skeptical, but he was still very curious about the Senju heir.

"Oh, I heard about him." Hanabi told her. "Father said that grandfather arranged that the two of you were put on the same team."

That, of course, surprised both Hinata and Neji. "W-what?" Hinata asked in confusion.

"I heard him and grandfather talking about it, they said that they were hoping to bring the Senju heir to our side due to the two of you being teammates." Hanabi explained.

We're they out of their minds? Neji thought. Putting someone as weak as Hinata in a team with a Senju, although I can't know if he measures up to his Clan's reputation yet, Hinata would just give a terrible impression of the Hyūga Clan. And if he does measures up to the Senju's legendary skill, he will just consider our clan weak with Hinata being it's frame of reference. Neji thought in deep apprehension of his uncle and grandfather's decision.

Was it really grandfather who arranged for Seiyru and I to be put on the same team? Hinata wondered. Not that I mind but...

Neji, not really having anything to ask his weakling of a cousin, started to walk away from her. I must check this Senju Seiyru when I have the change. If he indeed lives up to his clan's legacy, then I will challenge him to fight me.

Hinata and Hanabi didn't even noticed that Neji was walking away from them. As Hanabi was too busy asking a lot of questions about Seiyru and Hinata shyly answering them.

Seiyru's Apartment:

Senju Seiyru was preparing himself to go on a searching quest with his father in order to check on this clue about his godfather's wife location. He was preparing breakfast for himself and his father, who was still sleeping profoundly on his couch.

He eat a bit of buttered toast with milk. While his father was snoring on the couch. I wonder what exactly is this Rasengan. What kind of jutsu is it? He thought as he gulped down a cup of milk. Also, I wonder what exactly is uncle Minato's wife doing in Kusagakure. Seiyru's knowledge on this particular village is fairly limited. All that he knows is that the village has a terrible reputation, mostly because it's regarded as a pretty terrible place to live with most of it's habits only living there out of necessity. Though, I really hope that we actually find her. She's actually a member of the Uzumaki Clan, the same clan as my great-grandmother. Seiyru thought as he finished his toast. Honestly, information about the Uzumaki clan is so limited that honestly, She and I could be distant cousins for all I know.

Jiraiya was sleeping very peacefully on the couch having a pleasant dream that involved that attractive girl that he was spying on the previous day. The dream is mostly a flashback of yesterday.

He looks peaceful. Seiyru thought as he approaches him after finishing his breakfast.

Jiraiya was about to have the pleasure to actually be able to see the woman's naked body on his dream. As she was about to unwrap the towel covering her

"WAKE UP!" The White haired boy yelled very loud.

And, just like yesterday, the Toad Sage was denied of the joy of seeing a beautiful naked woman by his son. The first thing he does after harshly waking up from his dream, was ask a question. "Did you and Hime made some type of deal in order to torment me or something?"

"No, but she still believes that you got her drunk on that very strong sake on purpose, so you're not really wrong for theorizing that." Seiyru replied. "But we should really start our journey as soon as possible, Kusagakure is not exactly close."

"You're probably right." His father spoke as he sat up on the couch and stretched himself.

After a Jiraiya had his breakfast as well, both Seiyru and him packet their things for the journey and made their way to the entrance of Konohagakure. Seiyru thought about saying goodbye to his teammates, but he was sure that they'll probably be warned by the Hokage.

It didn't took long for the two of them to leave the village and make their way to Kusagakure. Both were walking side by side in silence, as they did several times before. But, the Senju heir decided to break the silence by asking one of the many questions that he had on his mind.

"Why don't you talk much about your other students?" Seiyru asked his father, as he was very curious about his other students.

"The old man told you about them?" His father asked, not sounding very surprised.

"Partially, he told me that you considered Uchiha Fugaku your worst student and only spoke a bit about the other one, Tatsuya." Seiyru explained.

"Well... Fugaku and Minato were equals in terms of skill and ability, but... Minato had much more humility, while Fugaku was very proud and arrogant." His father explained to him. "The amount of times that Fugaku put all of us in danger just for the sake of trying to act superior are too many to even count."

"Such as?" Seiyru asked.

"We once received a mission to recover an stolen item from a wealthy citizen, Minato and I managed to come up with a strategy to recover the item without being detected." His father told him the story. "But while we were planning, Fugaku actually went alone to recover the item and got caught, which resulted in all of us having much more difficult to recover both the item and him."

Jeez, I hope Sasuke isn't like that because I definitely don't wanna deal with this sort of setback. Seiyru thought as he heard his father story.

"After the team went on their separate ways, I just kept contact with Minato as the others were busy with their lives after that." His father finished his explanation.

"I see." Seiyru said. But then he remembered something else. "What about the third member, Tatsuya."

"Oh, I definitely wish that I kept contact with him. But unfortunately he travels around almost as much as me, so it isn't really possible." Jiraiya spoke with a smile.

"But what was he like?" Seiyru asked in curiosity.

"He was quiet but had a great sense of humor, always cracking jokes once the mood was bad." Jiraiya explained. "In terms of skill though, he was definitely the weakest of the three."

"Grandpa did said that he had an amazing ability in Earth Release." Seiyru mentioned.

"I definitely wouldn't call it amazing, he definitely had a great affinity to earth, but..." His father paused for a bit. "Tatsuya had one of the worst chakra reserves that I ever saw."

Seiyru looked at him with a confused face. "How so?"

"When I became his Sensei, he could only do a single Jutsu a day before getting exhausted." Jiraiya explained. "I managed to train him in order to increase it, but it only increased to three jutsus a day. So he could never properly develop his great affinity to earth."

"Then how exactly did he went on missions with limited chakra?" Seiyru asked in complete confusion. As considering the other two members of team, the missions were probably more difficult.

"Well..." His father was trying to find the right words. "Tatsuya became incredibly skilled with a... particular type of weapon."

"Oh yeah, Teuchi mentioned that he left the village in search of creativity for weapons." Seiyru mentioned.

"You already met his brother," Jiraiya was actually one of the first to taste Teuchi's delicious Ramen, as Tatsuya invited him and Minato to be Teuchi's first clients. "It's true, Tatsuya became so interested in that particular weapon, that he decided to study engineering and blacksmithing in order to find ways to improve it." His father explained, making Seiyru more curious to know what kind of weapon is it.

"So, what exactly are those weapons?" Seiyru asked as he really wanted to know.

"They were... Well... Guns." His father finally told him.

"Guns? You mean those black powder weapons?" Seiyru did saw a few of them here and there but never actually use them. "Aren't they illegal?" Guns are actually forbidden all around the Five Great Shinobi Countries, due to a high rate of civilian deaths caused by them. Though some stores still sell them illegally, mainly because no one actually keeps check of those things around minor villages.

"They're illegal for civilian use, but not for ninja use." Jiraiya explained.

"But, I never saw any Shinobi or Kunoichi using them." Seiyru pointed out.

"That's because they're just too impractical for Ninja work." Jiraiya told him. "First of all, carrying ammunition for them takes too much space, especially since you can't recover and reutilize like a shuriken and a kunai." Jiraiya lifted his index finger. "Second, any Genin with basic training can evade the shots of one, making it useless against another Ninja." He then lifted his middle finger. "Third, they're just too loud, a lot of missions require flawless stealth and something that loud would just put you at risk of being discovered." Then he lifted his ring finger.

Although his father made some really good points about the downsides of using guns. Seiyru couldn't understand one thing. "Then... How exactly did Tatsuya came to utilize them?"

"During one of our early missions where we had to escort an old lady to her son's home, we had to make a stop on a store to buy a few supplies in the middle of the way." Seiyru listened carefully. "On this store however, there was a Tanegashima on display." Oh, I did saw some of the Samurai from the Land of Iron carrying those. Seiyru remembered. "He used some of the money he got from previous missions to buy it."

"But... Why didn't stop him, if you knew the downsides of it?" Seiyru asked.

"What he did with his own money was his business, though I did told him that he wasted his money in buying that and advised him not to used it." Jiraiya told Seiyru.

"And what happened after that?" Seiyru really wanted to know.

"He... Didn't follow my advice, which turned out to be the right decision." Jiraiya informed him.

"How so?"

"He became such a great shot with it, that even veterans from the AMBU would have difficulty evading it if he fired at them." Jiraiya revealed to him. "Tatsuya developed such a fascination for them, that he started to search in every store he went in to buy more of them, then he became interested in improving them."

I wonder what kind of improvements he made, it would be interesting if he managed to make guns more practical for Ninja work. Seiyru thought in fascination with the idea. But then he remembered one last thing that he wanted about this Tatsuya. "One last question," He spoke. "Was him and aunt Shizune really a couple?"

Suddenly, his father burst into laughter after hearing that. "Hah! Yes, I remember like it was yesterday." Jiraiya spoke joyfully. "We were visiting the hospital after a particularly difficult mission where he got injured on the leg, and by some really unfortunate coincidence, every single doctor there was busy. Luckily, Shizune has just started to learn Medical Ninjutsu from your mother and was able to treat him." His father told him the story. "Poor Tatsuya fell in love with her at first sight and started to visit her on the hospital every chance he got, by getting injured in missions on purpose in order to have a pretext to see her."

Wait what? Seiyru thought in confusion. "And what was aunt Shizune's opinion about that?" He asked in confusion.

"She wasn't fond of the idea of someone getting hurt just to see her." His father pointed out. "So she yelled at him in front of the whole hospital."

"I can totally imagine aunt Shizune yelling at him." She once yelled at Seiyru for overtraining, and she's almost as loud as his mother.

"Yes, but as soon as she finished yelling at him, she lectured him angrily for not just asking her out already." His father finished the story.

"Oh, so things turned out well in the end." Seiyru spoke.

"For a time, until your mother left the village sometime after that and Shizune followed behind her." Jiraiya spoke sadly. "Tatsuya was so heartbroken after she left that he started to dedicate himself completely into his passion for guns."

"Ohhh, that's too bad." Seiyru commented sadly. It's a shame that something like this happened, but I highly doubt my mom would have been okay without aunt Shizune around.

His father looked at the sky and noticed that it was going to get dark soon. "We better walk a few more miles before setting camp." His father told him.

"Okay, but we better get moving as soon as sun goes up in order to get there quickly." Seiyru spoke as the two kept on walking.

WARNING: Don't worry, I ain't discontinuing this story or anything, I just need to get something out of the way.

Okay, when I started this story, I actually had help from a co-writer (All of my stories used to have one, but now it days only two of them do.) this co-writer wrote a few of the chapters for me while I only wrote particular parts of it. (Not anymore, as I'm now the only one working on this story as he left after the previous chapter.)

But unfortunately, I ended up discovering something. It turns out that all of the parts that he wrote were plagiarized from another story called Hope Of The Senju Clan. (Which was one of my inspirations for this story, but I only read the first few chapters back in 2016.)

I know this probably sounds like some dumb excuse but anyone who actually read my other stories know that I like my stories to be original, hell I don't read other fics now it days in order to not get influenced by them.

Ironically, I found out that this former co-writer actually posted my story on another site as his. If you actually search (Heir of the senju clan by Darkening) on Google, you gonna find him.

I was actually so upset by that, that I was actually thinking about rebooting this story . But honestly, I'm so behind on schedule with all my other stories that I quickly disconsidered this idea.

So, I'll just ask everyone to forgive me for this and give you all my word that this problem will never occur again.

Thanks everyone for reading this story.

As always, Questions and Answers.

Also I feel like a bit of an idiot for not questioning who the hell the Jinchuriki of Kuruma is if Naruto isn't around in this

Hope Kushina actually uses the powers granted to her as a Jinchuriki her being a Kage level ninja would then have some president if she had mastered Kuruma's power

All the Jinchuriki will be explored in this story.

I think that your OC is a SIMP. There is a line between gentleman and simp and that line was crossed really hard. They just met for a few days and he is already buying expensive gift for no occasion at all. For another angle it would be seem as creepy trying to speed run to Ino's pants. A flower would have been fair, a bouquet would be pushing, but the expensive earrings are over the top. I think you need to leave the relationship more organic

LOL!

Dude, this was precisely what I was aiming for. Remember Jiraiya's promise to turn him into the biggest pervert Konoha has ever known?

Well, that was his teachings shining through.

I hate the way you potray konohamaru and seiryuu reaction to him

Yeah, writing Konohamaru without Naruto's influence is fairly difficult. Though it was the co-writer that I mentioned earlier that wrote some of his parts.

Are you that Dumb that you need to copy the content of Others because you can't really think that well what you should write for your own novel

Thanks for the shout out, and sorry again for calling you idiot on the PM. Also, I did write an original story. It's the one called Chaotic Light on my profile.

I really hope kushina didn't have to deal with what Karin and her mom went through

She didn't, though Karin will not go through it for much longer.

As always, if anyone has any questions, just leave in the reviews or PM me about it and I'll be glad to answer them. (As long as it's not a spoiler of course.)
