We all know King Bumi is the world's greatest Earth-Bender but what if he found an apprentice, What if this apprentice became King Bumi's right hand man, What if he was an Earth-Bender that could bend the Earth in it's most primordial form, And what if this Earth-Bender Fell for a certain Blind Bandit. Follow my OC Dijin as he travels with the Gaang to fulfill The Avatar's destiny.

23. The Drill and What's a Bear?

A/N Hey guys sorry for the late chapter I got caught up with work and other things.

I'll try to get the chapters out as fast as I can.

Anyway, on with the story!

After seeing the drill Aang realized he had to warn the others and quickly made his way back to the Gaang.

The group itself was actually almost at the wall before they noticed Aang gliding towards them.

Katara confused at seeing him so soon spoke up asking "Aang, what are you doing here? I thought you were looking for Appa."

Aang looked them seriously before saying "I was, but something stopped me—something big."

Aang turned around while saying "Follow me, I'll show you." he then headed towards the wall with the others following him.

Once everyone was gathered at the base of the outer wall Toph and Dijin stomped their feet breaking apart the Earth under them. Next, they raised and lowered their arms making the earth under them rise up like an elevator.

As the group traveled up the wall Sokka spoke up asking "Now, what's so big that Appa has to wait?"

Aang just pointed at the drill showing the group as he said "That."

The group made it to the top of the wall and after seeing the drill Ying spoke despairingly saying "We made it to Ba Sing Se and we're still not safe. No one is."

Ying's husband tried to comfort her before a couple soldiers approached them saying "What are you people doing here? Civilians aren't allowed on the wall."

Aang looked at the soldier while saying "I'm the Avatar." Dijin walked next to him saying "And I'm the Right Hand of Omashu. Take us to whoever is in charge."

The soldiers looked at each other shocked after hearing both the Avatar and Omashu's Right Hand was there in front of them.

The quickly nodded before motioning the group to follow them while having some soldiers escort Ying and her family somewhere safe.

They were taken to a central guard tower where a general was sitting at a desk without a care.

The general was an older gentleman being in his late forties, he had short black hair that was done up in a small top-knot with a gold hair ornament, he had a pointed Fu-man-chu mustache that went to the sides of his face, he wore tan, green, and brown armor that covered his arms, chest, and stomach, he had dragon heads for shoulder pads, over his back he wore a dark green cape, he wore loose-fitting green pants, he had studded wrist and ankle bracers, and he was bare foot.

The general smiled smugly at the group while saying "It is an honor to welcome you to the outer wall, young Avatar and you as well Right Hand. But your help is not needed."

Dijin and Aang looked shocked while Aang said "Not needed?"

The general just repeated himself saying "Not needed."

The general looked smug again as he said "I have the situation under control." the general stood and had the group follow him as he walked to the edge of the wall saying "I assure you, the Fire Nation cannot penetrate this wall. Many have tried to break through it, but none have succeeded."

Dijin just frowned at the arrogant general and said "What about the Dragon of the West? He broke through."

The general sputtered a second before calming down and saying "W-well, technically, yes. But he was quickly expunged."

Dijin's frown deepened as he said "Your wrong again general. The Dragon of the West didn't get expunged, he gave up his campaign because of the loss of his son on the battle field."

The general turned towards Dijin shocked saying "How do you know that?"

Dijin just crossed his arms saying "Being Omashu's Right Hand, I studied my military history."

The general coughed into has hand before saying "Nevertheless, that's why the city is named Ba Sing Se. It's the impenetrable city. They don't call it Na Sing Se!" he then laughed at his own joke but when he noticed no one else was laughing he stopped and said "That means penetrable city."

Toph who was sick of the general just said "Yeah, thanks for the tour. But we still got the drill problem."

The general just looked back over the wall saying "Not for long. To stop it, I've sent an elite platoon of Earth-benders called the Terra team. Now just watch and you'll see why there is nothing to worry about."

The group did just that as they looked down below and saw a team of Earth-benders wearing black and tan robes attack the drill.

They started by creating a large wave of earth that they rode on before they jumped and stomped their feet sending multiple Earth-pillars at the drill to try and stop it.

Sadly, the drills metal body and large size easily destroyed the Earth around it like it was nothing.

The Gaang was soon shocked as they witnessed some new fighters enter the battle.

Azula's two friends Mai and Ty lee had joined in the fighting

with Mai using her knives and hand to hand combat to take out soldiers.

Meanwhile Ty Lee was sprinting and weaving her way around the Earth-benders dodging any attacks they threw at her before she countered by attacking certain parts of their body.

Then in less than five minutes Mai and Ty Lee had beaten all the Earth-benders with their bodies surrounding the two girls.

The general witnessed this with a telescope before he threw his hands up and shouted hysterically "WE'RE DOOMED!"

Dijin quickly smacked the general shouting "Get a hold of yourself, man! Are you a General or aren't you!?"

The general rubbed his hurt face before saying "Your right. I'm sorry, Right hand."

Toph spoke up then saying "Maybe you would like The Right hand and the Avatar's help now?"

The general walked up to the two and bowed timidly before saying meekly "Yes, please."

The group looked back over the wall watching the drill approach while Aang spoke up saying "So the question is, how are we gonna stop that thing?"

The group then stared at Sokka expectantly waiting for him to speak.

Sokka noticed their looks before saying incredulously "Why is everyone looking at me?"

Dijin answered him saying "You're the one who keeps coming up with ideas all the time."

Sokka just got upset saying "So I'm the only person who can ever come up with a plan? That's a lot of pressure."

Katara smirked at her brother before saying "You're also the complaining guy."

Sokka shrugged his shoulders at the comment saying "That part I don't mind."

Suddenly a soldier ran up to them and spoke to the general saying "General sir! We were able to recover the members of the Terra Team but something is horribly wrong with them!"

Katara instantly hardened her gaze and approached the soldier saying "Take us to them. I can see what's wrong."

The soldier looked at the general who nodded his head signaling him to lead the way.

The soldier turned around and said "Right this way." before he led the group to a guard tower.

Once inside the group saw multiple cots laid out with soldiers in extreme pain and discomfort.

Katara quickly went to the nearest soldier and took her water out then started waving her hands back and forth over his body to gauge his wounds.

The general watched her work in awe before asking "What's wrong with him? He doesn't look injured."

Katara just kept working and said "His Chi is blocked." Katara put her water away before looking at the soldier and asked "Who did this to you?"

The soldier looked at her weakly and said "Two girls ambushed us. One of them hit me with some quick jabs and then suddenly I couldn't Earth-bend. I could barely move and then she cartwheeled away."

Katara's eyes widened before her gaze hardened as she said "Ty lee." Katara looked at the group and said "She doesn't look dangerous, but she knows the human body and it's weak points. It's like she takes you down from the inside."

After hearing Katara speak a lightbulb went off in Sokka's head as he shouted "Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh!"

Dijin looked at his friend before saying "What is it Sokka? You got an idea?"

Sokka smiled brightly before saying "it's what Katara just said. That's how we take down the drill—the same way Ty Lee took down all these strong Earth-benders."

Toph realizing where Sokka was going said "By attacking the drills pressure points!"

Aang then walked to a nearby window to look at the drill along with the others as he said "We'll take it down from the inside."

The group quickly descended the wall and were now at the base with the drill in front of them.

Toph and Dijin were upfront while the others were behind them as Toph turned towards the group and said "Ok, once Hot Rocks and I whip up some cover you're not gonna be able to see, so stay close to me."

Next, she and Dijin jumped forward and stomped their feet before throwing their hands forward creating a massive dust cloud that blocked the group from view.

Toph then shouted at the group saying "Run!" before she took the lead and was followed by Dijin then the others.

Once the group was close to the drill Toph had them stop and rotated her foot in a circle before thrusting her hands down creating an underground tunnel for them travel through as she said "Everyone into the hole!"

They quickly went inside and as they traveled underground Sokka couldn't help but comment "It's so dark down here. I can't see a thing."

Toph just sarcastically said "Oh, no. What a nightmare!"

Sokka could only say "Sorry."

Luckily Toph quickly made an exit and led the group above ground as they noticed they were now directly under the drill.

Sokka looked around and noticed an open maintenance hatch before pointing at it and saying "There!"

Aang moved forward and Air-bent himself up to the hatch and hooked his knees on a low hanging bar. Next, he held his hands out for everyone to grab.

Sokka went first then Katara but the three noticed Dijin and Toph weren't moving so Sokka brought his head down and said "You guys, come on!"

Toph just said "No way am I going in that metal monster. I can't see or bend in there. I'll try and slow it down from out here."

Sokka then looked at Dijin for his reply and the Lava-bender said "I'm with Toph. I can't bend in there either. I'm better off taking out the tanks and trying to stop the drill with some magma."

Sokka remembering how Dijin was able to melt through the tanks armor back at the Air-temple nodded his head saying "Alright, good luck guys."

Dijin just smirked at the warrior and said "You too."

The trio then went inside while Toph looked at Dijin and said "You ready to get this party started, Hot Rocks?"

Dijin smirked at the blind-girl saying "You bet!"

Toph smirked as well before rotating her right foot in a circle and raising her right knee along with her right hand. Next, a giant Earth-pillar rose up from the ground and embedded itself into the drills main hull. Toph then braced herself against the pillar as she looked back at Dijin saying "I got this part, Hot Rocks. Go give those tanks a nice welcome."

Dijin just began to walk from under the drill while letting his robe hang at his waist as he cracked his neck and said "No Problem, Time for me to go to work." before he made a mad dash for the nearest tank.

As soon as he was close enough, he jumped a few feet in the air before slamming his feet into ground crating a large pool of magma. He then thrusted his hands forward palms out sending the lava at the tank. The tank instantly began to glow red and melt making the soldiers scream in agony on the inside from the extreme heat.

Dijin smirked at this before going after another tank.

Meanwhile in the drills control center Azula, Ty Lee, and Mai were sitting in some custom-made chairs while Azula had a victorious smirk on her face since her war minister just announced they reached the wall and had started drilling.

However, Ty Lee suddenly spoke up after looking through a periscope and said "Hey Azula, there's some guy doing something pretty crazy to the tanks."

Azula frowned at the statement and walked over to Ty Lee and said "What are you talking about, Ty Lee?"

Ty Lee looked at the Fire Nation princess and said "He's creating Lava and melting the tanks down. It's kinda cool."

Azula eyes hardened before she made Ty Lee move so she could get a look.

Azula instantly frowned as she witnessed Dijin creating lava all around the tanks before melting them down to scrap metal along with her soldiers.

She angrily put the periscope away before growling out "Damn him! I knew that Lava-bender would be trouble."

Suddenly they heard a soldier speak to them from one of the many intercoms throughout the drill as he said hysterically "War Minister! An engineer was ambushed and had his schematics stolen."

Another voice spoke from another intercom saying "War Minister! A brace on the starboard side has been cut clean through! It's sabotage sir!"

The minister began to look more and more nervous and looked back at the princess expecting a punishment from her.

However, Azula just had a frown before she looked at her two friends and said "Ladies, go find out what is going on. I have a dog I need to put down."

Mai and Ty Lee nodded and went to find the saboteurs while Azula made her way outside to deal with Dijin.

Back outside Dijin was finishing off the last of the tanks as he rushed one with magma encasing his arms.

He quickly jumped on top of the vehicle and let his magma flow onto the metal melting it from the top down while the soldiers screamed in terror and pain.

Dijin then jumped onto the ground and slammed his foot sideways while thrusting his right fist forward sending large stream of lava at another tank. The stream hit its target and made the vehicle tip over while melting it down along with the soldiers inside.

Dijin looked around and saw he took care of the tanks but his eyes widened when he noticed that the drill had penetrated the wall.

Dijin quickly ran so he was near the front of the drill before he jumped high in the air and slammed his whole body into the ground creating a massive stream of lava that went towards the drill.

However, his eyes once again widened when he saw the lava had no effect on the machine instead the metal just glowed red before cooling down.

He was also surprised when he heard a voice speak to him from above saying "Truly amazing isn't it?"

Dijin looked up and saw Azula standing on top of the drill before she jumped and slid down the drills side as she landed a few feet in front of him.

Azula looked at Dijin with an arrogant smirk before saying "It took our top engineers some time to find the right metal that would resist intense heat but as you can see, they found a way."

Dijin glared at the girl before she said "To be honest when I saw what you could do, I thought you might be trouble but now I see your power can suppressed like any other bender we have conquered."

Dijin glanced at the drill before he glared at Azula with as much hate as possible due to the fact that she had found a way to turn his greatest asset into a useless ability.

Dijin then spoke in a cold tone saying "If I can't melt your drill, then the least I can do is make sure you never bother us again!"

Dijin quickly slammed his foot down creating a pool of magma then he thrusted his fist forward sending the lava at the Arrogant girl.

Azula just nimbly dodged the magma before kicking her left foot forward sending a stream of blue flames at Dijin.

Dijin quickly crossed his arms creating a wall of magma that blocked the flames before he threw the wall at the girl.

Again, Azula just dodged the attack before she sprinted forward while generating a bolt of lightning and thrusted her right pointer fingers and sent it straight at Dijin.

Dijin's eyes widened at the attack before he crossed his arms again creating an Earth-wall at the last second which blocked the attack while creating a dust cloud.

Next, Dijin took advantage of the dust and dived underground while thanks to Toph's training he was able to pin point Azula's position better while he couldn't see.

Azula noticed the ground under her start to get hot before she dodged rolled to the left narrowly dodging an eruption of lava where she once stood.

Azula didn't have long to recover since Dijin came bursting out of the ground with a magma encased fist which he hit dead center where her armor was.

Azula quickly yanked off her armor and threw it to the ground while she glared at the melting fabric.

She then got into a battle stance as she began thrusting her fists forward sending a multitude of blue fire balls at the Lava-bender.

Dijin then proved he was no stranger to dodging as he side-stepped and bent backwards avoiding the fire before he kicked his right leg upwards sending a stream of Earth-pillars at the Fire Nation princess.

Azula glared at the earth before she waved her arms in circle and sent a huge bolt of lightning at the pillars completely destroying them.

Dijin slammed his foot into the ground making some earth burst into the air before he thrusted his arms forward and had the earth encase his arms as he turned it into magma while charging the girl.

Once he was close enough, he started to attack Azula in hand-to-hand combat forcing her to dodge his attacks less she get burned by the magma.

Azula seeing an opening dodged low and used a scissor lock with her legs to trip Dijin onto his back as she mounted him and quickly made a ball of blue flames and put it near his face.

She them gave Dijin a wicked smile before saying "I have you now."

Dijin gave wicked smile of his own before saying "That's what you think!"

Next, Dijin slammed both his arms into the ground making magma explode around the two and it began to encase them both.

Azula's eyes widened in shock before she quickly jumped off of Dijin and watched him get covered in magma.

Azula thinking Dijin was dead turned around to walk away but she was shocked when she heard his voice speak up saying "Where do you think you're going bitch. I'm not done with you."

Azula's eyes once again widened in shock as she turned around and witnessed Dijin stand up with his body completely covered in magma before he said "I guess Zhao didn't get the chance to tell you that lava has zero effect on me."

Dijin then charged the girl again doing everything possible to land a hit on the Princess by attacking her with his fists and legs, anything he could use.

First he tried a couple palm thrusts then formed his hands into claws and tried to swipe at her. Next he tried two rotating sidekicks and a round house kick before jumping up and trying a high axe kick.

Azula could only barely dodge his attacks since Dijin was getting more and more ferocious and unpredictable.

Azula tried to get some distance by thrusting her hands forward sending a huge wave of blue flames at Dijin but he just charged through the attack the magma encasing him protecting him from her flames.

Dijin was then able to land a couple hits on her shoulder and stomach singing her clothes and burning her.

Azula jumped back to get a breather while holding her burnt stomach as she glared at the lava bender and thought "So, this is how Zhao lost. His magma armor protects him from any fire attacks while making attacking him nearly impossible."

Azula then tried a different tactic as she generated lightning from her fingers and started to fire multiple bolts of electricity at Dijin.

This time Dijin was forced to dodge the girls' attacks and every time he rolled or moved to the side his magma armor would dissipate until it was almost gone.

Azula and Dijin paused for second as they both started to breath heavy from their fight.

Azula smirked at Dijin before saying "You know, you're the only person who has ever pushed me this far."

Dijin just glared at the girl before she said "Perhaps we don't have to be enemy's, with your power you could be my father's right hand and have control of all of the four nations. Doesn't that sound better than fighting for a weak child who doesn't even understand the gravity of his situation?"

Dijin continued to glare at the princess before saying "I'm gonna say the same thing I told Zhao when he offered me the same thing."

Azula raised an eyebrow at the statement and asked "What is that?"

Dijin just gritted his teeth and shouted "By the time this is over, I'm going to take your head!"

Dijin them jumped high in the air and let out a rage filled scream saying "RAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH" before he slammed his whole body into the ground creating a massive wave of lava that went straight towards Azula.

Azula eyes widened before she thrusted her fists down creating two jet streams of blue flames that launched her high in the air allowing her to barely avoid the large-scale attack.

Then while Azula was in the air she noticed the Avatar cutting a boulder into a chisel and getting ready to force it into the drill.

Azula realizing the drill was in danger quickly made her way to the top of the drill and once she was on the surface, she spoke down to Dijin saying "As much as I want to end you and make sure you won't interfere any longer. I have bigger things to worry about."

Azula quickly made a dash for Aang while Dijin glared at the girl before shouting "I'm not letting you run away!"

Dijin quickly thrusted his arms down making Earth encase his arms before he thrusted them again creating an Earth-pillar that launched him upwards towards the surface of the drill.

Once he was on top the drill, he saw Aang running up the outer wall until he was at the top before he jumped and began to head towards the earth Chisel he made.

Dijin also saw that Azula was getting ready to try and destroy the Earth-chisel so he quickly ran towards her before thrusting his arms forward sending the earth encasing his arms at her.

Azula not expecting the sudden attack was hit straight in the back and slammed into the Earth-chisel bruising her face and giving her a bloody lip.

Next, Aang made contact with the Earth-chisel making a huge shockwave go through the entire drill launching Azula far away while Dijin jumped down to the side avoiding the shockwave.

After that the drill began to disassemble until it completely fell apart while tan earth-sludge leaked from every crack throughout the drill.

Dijin slid down the drill and landed in a pool of tan earth-sludge as the others made their way back to him.

Once they were all together Aang jumped for joy saying "We did it! We stopped the drill!"

Dijin looked around and said "But where's Azula and her two goons'?"

The group looked around before Aang smiled and said "let's not worry about that. Right now, what's important is that we stopped the drill and saved everyone in Ba Sing Se."

Dijin nodded his head along with the others as they made their way back to the general.

However, unbeknownst to them, Azula was glaring at Dijin and the rest while saying to herself "You may have won the battle Lava-bender, but the war is far from over."

Azula then made her way over to her friends and started to prepare her troops for a full retreat and to regroup.

Soon after the Gaang successfully stopped the drill the Genral quickly put in a good word for the group and they were now on a trolley headed for the inner wall of Ba Sing Se.

The group was sitting together on either side of the trolley. Toph and Dijin were sitting next to each other while Aang and Katara were sitting together on the opposite side.

Sokka on the other hand was stuck being smushed between two large men with one of them eating an ear of corn.

Suddenly Katara spoke up while pointing out the window saying "Look, the inner wall."

The group looked at the upcoming wall with smiles before Katara spoke again looking at the group and saying "I can't believe we finally made it to Ba Sing Se in one piece."

Sokka moved himself so he wasn't squished and held his hand out waving it as he said "Hey, don't jinx it! We could still be attacked by some giant, exploding Fire Nation spoon. Or find out that the city's been submerged in an ocean of killer shrimp."

Toph spoke then while petting Momo in her lap saying "Have you been hitting the cactus juice again?"

Dijin spoke next saying "And if you are, you better share that stuff." Dijin then laughed followed by Toph while Sokka grumbled for a second.

Sokka then spoke again saying "Look, I'm just sayin'. Weird stuff happens to us."

Just as Sokka said that another large man showed up and he was about to sit on Toph due to him not paying attention.

Dijin quickly scooted himself and Toph over while the man sat on Sokka causing the Water Tribe warrior to freak out and flail his arms around while trying to yell at the man to move but his mouth was muffled.

Aang was looking out the window staring at the city not paying attention to what was happening while Katara looked at him and said "Don't worry, Aang, we'll find Appa."

Aang seemed unsure as he said "It's such a big city."

Sokka had finally gotten the large man off of him and walked over to where Aang and Katara were sitting while saying "He's a giant Bison. Where could someone possibly hide him?" Sokka then leaned out the window just as the trolley went through the gate leading into the inner wall of Ba Sing Se.

When they were all the way through, the Gaang was greeted with the sight of one of largest cities they had ever seen with the city expanding for hundreds of miles with buildings of all shapes and sizes.

Sokka looked at the large city and just said "Oh. That's how."

Dijin looked at the large city from his own window while thinking to himself "This is definitely not going to be easy."

It wasn't long until the trolley came to a stop at a trolley station inside the inner wall and the Gaang departed while getting a look at the city.

While the group looked around Toph just sighed disappointedly before saying sarcastically "ah great, we're back in the city."

Sokka looked at the blind girl and asked "What's the problem? This place is amazing!"

Toph just glared while saying "it's just a bunch of walls and rules. Just wait, you'll get sick of it after a couple of days."

Aang chose then to walk near the edge of the trolley station and look out at the city before pulling out his Bison whistle and blowing it.

Aang put the whistle down after a few seconds and said "I'm coming for you, buddy."

Katara walked forward and placed a comforting hand on Aang's shoulder as he said "He's here, I can feel it."

Just then the trolley left the station revealing a woman with a very creepy ear to ear smile.

The woman approached the group before saying "Hello, my name is Joo Dee."

The group looked at the creepy lady and saw she had long black hair that went to her mid-back with a large hair ornament on the top her head that looked like a bar, she had black eyes, she was wearing a tan qi pao robe with black accents that split at her thighs, under the robe she wore black puffy pants, and she wore black Tai Chi shoes on her feet.

Joo Dee bowed her head and said "I have been given the great Honor of showing the Avatar and the Right Hand of Omashu around Ba Sing Se." Joo Dee looked around at the others saying "And you three must be Sokka, Katara, and Toph." Joo Dee then dug into her robe and pulled out a slip of paper while saying "I have also been instructed to give this to the Right Hand when I saw you." Joo Dee handed the slip of paper to Dijin who started to look at it.

Dijin read the slip of paper and his eyes widened before saying "This is an invitation to a party the Earth King is throwing!"

The others gained wide eyes as well before they came over and looked at the paper as well.

Sokka then looked at Joo Dee asking "Doesn't Aang get one too?"

Joo Dee shook her head with her creepy smile saying "I'm afraid not. You see many people witnessed the Right Hand protecting our great wall while the Avatar was only seen very briefly. So as thanks, the Right Hand has been given this invitation."

The group nodded their heads in understanding while Joo Dee just kept her creepy smile before saying "Any who, welcome to our wonderful city. Shall we get started?"

Sokka stepped forward with a smirk saying "Yes, we have information about the Fire Nation army that we need to deliver to the Earth King immediately."

Joo Dee just ignored Sokka's statement and said "Great, Let's begin our tour. And then I'll show you to your new home, here. I think you're all going to like it." she then walked away towards a carriage motioning for the others to follow her.

Sokka let out a frustrated yell before marching after the woman and said "Maybe you missed what I said. We need to talk to the King about the war, it's important."

Joo Dee just smiled at Sokka saying "You're in Ba Sing Se, now. Everyone is safe here." she then climbed inside the carriage while the group gave her weird looks before climbing inside as well.

Joo Dee had the carriage take the group through the many different parts of Ba Sing Se.

They were currently in the poor district where new arrivals, refugees, and even some criminals lived.

As the carriage made its way through the streets Joo Dee explained how things worked saying "This is the lower ring."

Katara seeing a huge wall divide the area apart from the rest of the city asked "What's that wall for?"

Joo Dee replied "Oh, Ba Sing Se has many walls. There are the ones outside protecting us, and the ones inside, that help maintain order. The lower ring is where our newest arrivals live, as well as our craftsman and artisans, people that work with their hands."

Just then they went past a gang of thugs with sharp swords and knives as Joo Dee looked at the group awkwardly and said "But you may want to watch your step though."

Katara frowned at the people living in such terrible conditions and asked "Why do they have all the poor people blocked off in one part of the city?"

Aang looked around sadly and said "This is why I never came here before. I always heard it was so different from the way the monks taught us how to live."

After they left the lower ring Joo Dee showed them the next part of the city and as they went down the road she said "This is the middle ring of Ba Sing Se, home to the financial district, shops and restaurants and the university."

Sokka spoke up saying "Yeah, we met a professor from Ba Sing Se university. He took us to an ancient underground library where we discovered information about the war that is Absolutely crucial for the King to hear!" Sokka finished his statement with a shout to get his point across.

Joo Dee just once again gave a creepy smile and ignored Sokka saying "Isn't history fascinating?" she quickly pointed to a building they were passing and said "Look, here's one of the oldest buildings in the middle ring, Town Hall."

Joo Dee had the carriage stop for a second so she could go see something while Sokka looked at the strange woman and spoke to the group saying "Is that woman deaf? She only seems to hear every other word I say."

Toph just had a glare as she spoke up saying "It's called being handled. Get used it."

Dijin crossed his arms and spoke up too saying "She's right. When I was working as Bumi's Right Hand I had to do the same thing to foreign dignitaries who wanted to try and get an audience with him."

The group looked at each other awkwardly realizing the position they were in.

Joo Dee came back not long after that and the carriage continued its journey which headed into the upper ring of the city.

Again, as the group traveled Joo Dee explained the area saying "The upper ring is home to our most important citizens. Your house is not too far from here." the carriage just then passed a giant wall with the Earth Kingdom symbol on the center while men in black robes surrounded the outside.

Katara looked at the structure and asked "What's inside that wall?"

Sokka noticed the black robed men and got a look at them.

The men wore black robes with large cuffs that went to their ankles but split at their thighs, on the center of the robes was a green Earth Kingdom symbol, they wore round wide brimmed hard hats with a tassel on the top, on their hands were what appeared to gloves made entirely out of Earth, under the robes they wore black puffy pants, and they wore black Tai Chi shoes on their feet.

After looking at them Sokka spoke up asking "Who are the mean-looking guys in robes?"

Joo Dee answered their questions in order, first answering Katara saying "Inside the wall is the Royal Palace." Joo Dee then motioned at the men saying "Those men are agents of the Dai Li, the cultural authority of Ba Sing Se. They are the guardians of all our traditions."

Aang not really caring about what Joo Dee was saying just asked "Can we see the King now?"

Joo Dee let out a small laugh and said "Oh, No. One doesn't just pop in on the Earth King."

The group just held their heads down disappointed before the carriage came to a stop with Joo Dee climbing out saying "Here we are, your new home."

The group followed her out and were surprised to find that their new place was a two-story five-bedroom house.

Just as they were going to look inside a messenger showed up and handed a scroll to Joo Dee who quickly read it.

Once she finished reading, she gave the group her signature smile while saying "More good news. Your request for an audience with the Earth King is being processed, and should be put through in about a month. Much more quickly than usual."

The group looked at Joo Dee stunned while Sokka shouted "A month!"

Dijin spoke up next saying "That's ludicrous! An audience with King Bumi never took that long!"

Joo Dee just kept smiling saying "That may be how it was in Omashu, Right Hand, but this is the Earth King we are talking about, so your request should be put through in about six to eight weeks." Joo Dee then bowed and said "Please allow me to show you your new home." Joo Dee then walked past the group entering the house.

The Gaang looked at each other before following the smiling woman inside their new house and were surprised once again finding the whole place fully furnished with top quality furniture and food.

Once inside Joo Dee spoke up saying "Isn't it nice? I think you'll really enjoy it here."

Sokka replied to her saying "I think we would enjoy it more if we weren't staying for so long. Can't we see the King any sooner?"

Joo Dee looked at Sokka saying "The Earth King is very busy running the finest city in the world, but he will see you as soon as time permits."

Sokka just frowned at her answer while Aang spoke up next saying "If we're gonna be here for a month, we should spend our time looking for Appa."

Joo Dee placed her hands in her sleeves and bowed at Aang saying "I'd be happy to escort you anywhere you'd like to go."

Toph fed up with Joo Dee being they're handler walked over to her with a glare saying "We don't need a babysitter."

Joo Dee just kept her smile up and said "Oh, I won't get in the way. And to leave you alone would make me a bad host. Where shall we start?"

Toph turned away from the pushy woman in huff before Dijin walked forward with a frown saying "While I understand not wanting to be a bad host, our group has traveled all over the Earth Kingdom and found our way here with no problems. So, I'm sure we can find whatever we need in the city ourselves." Dijin then got close to Joo Dee and glared at her saying "Unless you're trying to make sure we don't see anything we're not supposed to?"

Joo Dee now had a nervous smile as some droplets of sweat was forming on her brow before she waved her hand dismissively saying "O-of Course not. I just want to make sure you all have a safe and pleasurable experience in our great city. In fact, I know the best place to start your search."

Dijin just looked at the woman suspiciously before Aang spoke up saying "Let's just let her take us, Dijin, it's not like she's going to lead us into a trap or anything."

Dijin just kept staring at Joo Dee who was starting to get more nervous before he sighed and said "Fine, let's just get going." Dijin then walked past Joo Dee followed by the others.

When she saw they were all gone Joo Dee let out a sigh of relief before composing herself and following the group.

The place that Joo Dee had in mind was in fact a pet shop that was located in the middle ring.

The Gaang was currently talking to the shop owner and Aang just got done asking the owner if he had seen a flying Bison anywhere.

The shop owner replied to Aang saying "I'm sorry, but I haven't heard anything about a flying Bison. I didn't even know there were any."

Aang then asked the shopkeeper "If someone wanted to sell a stolen animal without anyone knowing, where would they go?"

The shopkeeper just seemed nervous and Sokka was losing his patience so he leaned in close then said irritably "Where's the Black Market? Who runs it?" Sokka pointed accusingly at the shopkeeper and said "Come on, you know."

The shopkeeper just got more nervous as he looked at Joo Dee who was shaking her head no at him without the group seeing her.

The shop keep started to speak nervously saying "Uh... That would be Illegal. You'll have to leave now." the shopkeeper then gained a frown as he said "And take your lemur with you he's bothering my Sparrow-Keets."

The group looked to they're right and saw Momo harassing the birds and eating they're food.

After the group left the pet shop Joo Dee told them they could try talking to someone at Ba Sing Se University.

So now, the group was talking to a student outside the main entrance to the school and asked him if he knew anything about Sand-benders or anything in that nature.

The student held a hand to his chin as he said "Hmm, I've never seen any Sand-benders or Nomads around here. You should ask Professor Zei, he teaches the class on desert cultures."

Sokka knowing Professor Zei wasn't available just sighed and said "Right. And which of your professors could we ask about the war with the Fire Nation?"

The student started to get nervous like the Shopkeeper and glanced at Joo Dee who was once again shaking her head no while the Gaang didn't notice what she was doing.

The student nervously replied to Sokka saying "I don't know, I'm not a political science student, I have to get to class." the nervous student then hastily stood up dropping some scrolls he scrambled to pick up and then quickly ran off.

Dijin during this exchange was just getting suspicious of everyone getting nervous whenever they asked certain questions. So, he glanced at Joo Dee who just gave him her signature smile which made him even more suspicious.

After talking to a few more people who nervously ran off as well the Gaang decided to call it a day and head back to their new house.

They were currently on their front porch while Joo Dee spoke to them saying "Well, I'm sorry no one has seen your Bison. Why don't you get some rest? Someone will be over to bring you dinner later." Joo Dee then bowed and climbed into her carriage leaving the group alone finally.

As the group watched the smiling lady leave, they also noticed their neighbor from across the street looking at them from his window.

Dijin frowned at the voyeur of a neighbor and started to walk over to him the others following suit.

Once Dijin was at the man's door he quickly pounded on it while saying "Hey! We saw you staring at us. got anything to say?"

The man opened the door and gave them a nervous smile before saying "You're the Avatar and Omashu's Right Hand. I heard you two were in town. I'm Pong."

Dijin looked at the man and said "It's a pleasure to meet you Pong, but tell me why are you and everyone else around here so nervous and scared about talking about the war?"

Pong looked even more nervous as he said "War, Scared? What do you mean?"

Toph spoke up then saying "I can feel you shaking."

Dijin frowned at Pong and said "Don't lie to me. What is going on in this city?"

Pong just got ready to shut his door as he said "Look, I'm just a government official. I've waited three years to get this house. I Don't want to get into trouble."

Dijin kept his frown and said "Why would you get in trouble? Who is threatening you?"

Pong just cracked his door so only his face could be seen as he said "Shhh, Listen, you can't mention the war, here. And whatever you do stay away from the Dai Li."

Pong then quickly closed his door while Dijin said "Hold on a second!" but Pong was already gone.

That Night the Gaang was gathered around in their living room and were pondering the information they got from Pong.

Katara looked at her friends and said "Something weird is going on here and it seems to revolve around the Earth King and the Dai Li."

Dijin looked at her and replied "I agree, the way everyone gets nervous at the slightest mention of the war and how Joo Dee basically led us on a wild Rooster-Goose chase. Something is up and we need to find out what."

Toph spoke up next saying "Well, how are we going to do that? No one just pops in on the Earth King."

Dijin smirked before pulling the paper given to him by Joo Dee as he said "Luckily, one of us has an invitation to the palace for a party tomorrow night for the earth Kings pet bear and I can bring a plus one."

Aang looked at Dijin weirdly and said "Don't you mean a Platypus-Bear?"

Dijin read over his invitation and said "No, it just says Bear."

Sokka spoke next saying "Certainly you mean his pet Skunk-Bear."

Toph spoke up too saying "Or his Armadillo-Bear."

Aang finished saying "Gopher-Bear?"

Dijin scratched his head and said "It just says Bear."

Toph spoke up again saying "This place is weird."

Aang looked at Dijin before saying "Anyway, so who are you going to bring?"

Dijin looked at the group and said "I'll bring Toph and Katara then we can sneak you two in."

Katara looked at Dijin with a raised eyebrow and asked "I thought you said you can only bring one guest?"

Dijin smirked again and said "I can bring Toph and since she's blind you can come as her aid."

Katara smiled and said "That's brilliant!"

Toph suddenly cleared her throat and said "Sorry to burst your bubble but you're forgetting Katara and the two goof balls here don't know the first thing about acting like a noble. Well, maybe Katara could pull it off actually."

Aang frowned at the accusation and said "What about you? You're not exactly miss fancy fingers."

Toph chose then to eat a sweet roll and burp before saying "I learned proper society behavior and chose to leave it. You guy's never learned anything. And frankly, its a little too late."

Dijin looked at Toph and said "I take offence to that. I had to attend tons of balls and society gatherings as King Bumi's Right hand."

Toph just shrugged her shoulders and said "My point still stands."

Sokka spoke up next saying "But you guys did learn it! You could teach us."

Aang chimed in as well saying "Yeah, I'm mastering every element. How hard could manners be?"

Aang then grabbed a curtain and draped it over himself like a fancy robe before talking in a terrible accent saying "Good evening, Mr. Sokka of the Water Tribe. Miss Katara Water Tribe. Lord Momo of the Momo Dynasty, Your Momo-ness."

Sokka joined Aang by grabbing a curtain as well and talking in a even worse accent saying "Avatar Aang, how you do go on."

The two started to bow at each other multiple times before they accidently hit each other with their heads.

Dijin looked at the two goofballs and said "I think you two just proved Toph's point even further."

Toph spoke next saying "Yeah, you two would be lucky to pass as busboys but with a little make-up and some nice clothes Katara could pull it off."

The two goofs just frowned at Toph while Dijin spoke up saying "Okay ladies, tomorrow morning we go shopping then we have party go to."

The two girls smiled at the idea of shopping while the other two boys just kept frowning at the three.

The next evening Dijin and the girls were getting ready for the party and putting on their new clothes they bought earlier that day.

While the three party goers were changing Aang and Sokka were playing Earth, Fire, Water to pass the time.

Suddenly though Katara and Toph came out of their room wearing their new outfits.

Toph was wearing a white dress that went to her ankles with long sleeves and large cuffs with red and gold embroidery on the sleeves and collar, she had her hair done up with two braided pigtails going over her shoulders while the rest of her hair done up in a qitou style, In her hair was hairpiece that had red flowers adorning it, she had on pink blush make-up along with pink lip-stick and blue eye shadow, to finish off her look she had a gold and green fan in her hand that she opened and put in front of her face acting coy.

Katara was wearing a green dress that went to her ankles with long sleeves and large cuffs that had cloud designs on the collar and cuffs, she was wearing a white choker around her neck, she had on red blush and red lip-stick with purple eye shadow, she had her hair done up in an elegant bun with a head piece in her hair that had white lily's adorning it, like Toph she was holding a green and gold fan, and on her feet were green slippers with gold embroidery.

The two stared at the girls blown away with how they looked and the two ladies just giggled at their reactions.

Aang blushed at seeing Katara and said "Wow, you look beautiful."

Sokka noticed they were one person short and said "Hey, where's Dijin?"

Just as he said that Dijin came walking into the room saying "I'm right here."

The group turned to look at him and Katara couldn't help but blush at what she saw.

Dijin was wearing a black Hanfu robe that went to his ankles with gold accents and long sleeves, he had a gold embroidered chest wrapping going over his shoulders and chest making them look more defined, he wore a gold sash with an Earth Kingdom symbol in the center, he had combed his hair so it was slicked back and neat, under the robe he wore black dress pants with gold accents, and as usual he chose to be bare foot like Toph.

Katara looked Dijin over and couldn't help but say "Wow, Dijin, you really clean up nice."

Toph a little upset she couldn't see what Dijin looked like leaned in close to Katara while hiding her mouth behind her fan and whispered "What do you mean? What's Hot Rocks wearing?"

Katara hid behind her fan as well whispering back "I'll tell you the details later but Imagine Dijin in a fancy robe with defined muscles and slicked back hair."

Toph instantly blushed at the image in her head and was thankful her fan was blocking her face.

Dijin raised an eyebrow at the girls behavior before shaking it off and saying "Alright ladies, you ready to go?"

Toph just smirked and said "You bet."

Dijin nodded his head before holding his arms out for the girls to grab which they did.

As Dijin was escorting the girls out he looked at Aang and Sokka saying "We'll get in the party and then find a way to let you guys in through the side gate."

After that the three were off to the party.

When the three arrived, they were surprised to see a long line of nobles waiting to be let inside the palace.

The three quickly took their place in line and luckily it didn't take the three long to work their way up to the front of the line.

When they got there Dijin approached the guard and held out his invitation.

The guard looked the invitation over and looked at Toph and Katara before saying "I'm sorry sir but you may only bring one guest with you not two."

Dijin frowned at the guard and had Toph stand next to him and said "I don't know if noticed this, but my fiancé here is blind and requires her aid here to help her so she doesn't hurt herself."

Toph gained a full blush at being called Dijin's fiancé which helped with the story Dijin was feeding the guard.

The Guard gained an uncomfortable expression saying "While I'm sorry to hear that sir I cannot break the rules for one person."

Dijin glared at the guard and said haughtily "Do you know who I am? I am the Right Hand of Omashu. I helped save your city on my arrival here and you're saying I cannot make sure my fiancé is kept safe while I enjoy the Earth Kings hospitality?"

The guard was getting nervous but he still said "Again, I'm sorry sir but the rules must be obeyed and while I thank you for your service, I cannot allow the young lady in."

Dijin growled and said "Tell me your name soldier! I'm going to report you to-"

Dijin was cut off when a man approached them saying "Now, now, what is going here?"

Dijin looked to his right and saw the man who spoke.

He wore a black dress shirt with gold accents and gold buttons, he wore black dress pants with gold embroidery, he had brown eyes, he was bald save for some black hair on the back of his head and long braided ponytail that went to the middle of his back, he had a small black Fu-man-chu mustache and a small black soul patch, and on his feet were black Tai Chi shoes.

The guard bowed to the man and said "It's nothing Long-Feng sir. This man was trying to get a third guest inside when his invitation only allows himself and one guest."

The now identified Long-Feng looked at Dijin and smiled before turning to the guard and saying "I think we can the bend the rules just this once for the man who helped protect our city. Don't you agree guardsman?"

The guard instantly bowed at the waist and said "Of course sir."

Long-Feng nodded his head and turned towards Dijin and said "Please, allow me to escort you and your guests inside."

Long-Feng then began to walk inside while the three followed him.

Once they were inside Long-Feng turned towards Dijin and said "If you don't mind Right hand would you talk with me for a few minutes while your guests enjoy the party?"

Dijin replied to Long-feng saying "Sure, I see no harm in that." Dijin then nodded at Katara and Toph signaling them to go on without him.

The two girls then walked away to go and sneak Sokka and Aang inside.

when Long-Feng saw they were gone he turned towards Dijin and said "let's walk and talk." Long-feng then started to walk around the party floor with Dijin next to him.

Long-Feng started the conversation saying "You know, you and I aren't so different Master Dijin."

Dijin looked at Long-Feng surprised because he hadn't given his name yet.

Long-Feng saw his look and said "There's no need for surprise. I know all about you and your friends. Like I was saying you and I aren't so different. You're the right hand to King Bumi while I am the right Hand to the Earth King. So, it's understandable I would have information on anyone who enters this city."

Dijin gained a hard gaze and said "What else do you know?"

Long-Feng gained a hard gaze of his own and said "I know your group has been asking questions about the war and I'm afraid that is something I cannot allow."

Dijin stopped walking and glared at Long-Feng while saying "Is that a threat?"

Long-Feng stopped walking as well and turned towards Dijin and said "No Master Dijin, it is a friendly warning. The peace and safety of our great city is dependent on everyone having a calm state of mind. And that cannot happen if people go around screaming about war and death."

Dijin just kept his glare and said "You mean you want people to just live a lie to fit your needs."

Long-Feng was about to reply before a Dai Li agent showed up and whispered something in Long-Feng's ear.

Long-Feng looked at Dijin and said "I'm sorry but we will have to cut this conversation short I have something that needs attending too." Long-Feng then walked away while Dijin frowned at his retreating form.

Suddenly Dijin heard the crowd get excited as he saw Aang on one of the many dining tables water-bending drinks in the air and putting on a show.

Dijin made his way over there before he ran into Toph and quickly went to her side and whispered "We need to get out of here."

Toph raised an eyebrow at the statement and said "Why? The Earth King is going to show up at any moment."

Dijin just kept his gaze around the room and said "That Long-Feng guy is dangerous. He has information on all of us and he knows why we are here."

Toph frowned at that information but before she could reply the crowd started gathering in front of the room as a group of soldiers started walking into the room carrying a large paladin with dark curtains covering it.

Dijin seeing the paladin realized it must have been the Earth King but Aang stupidly created his Air-scooter and made a beeline for the King screaming "Good Evening, your Majesty!"

However, a team of Dai Li agents got in front of Aang and blocked him from getting close to the King as the guards holding the Paladin quickly got the King out of the room.

Dijin growled at Aang's stupid move and said "Damn it, Aang." Dijin looked to see what Toph had to say but he was quickly surprised to see she had disappeared.

The Lava-bender quickly looked around the room and saw Sokka get grabbed by some Dai Li agents.

Dijin realizing what was happening moved to go help his friend but he was soon surrounded by four Dai Li agents with one of them stepping forward and saying "Master Dijin, please come with us."

Dijin glared at the agents and growled out "And what if I say no?"

Suddenly more Dai Li agents started coming out of different parts of the room as the one who spoke said "We would rather not cause a scene but we will do what we must."

Dijin realizing causing a scene here would only make things worse said "Fine, but if any of you touch me you're going through a wall."

The agent just nodded his head before signaling the agents to stand down as he escorted Dijin out of the party room.

Dijin was brought into a dimly lit Library with a fireplace that had a fire going and his friends were all gathered there as well.

Dijin took a spot next to Toph as Long-Feng entered the room and sat down in an elegant chair and crossed his legs as he looked at the group.

Sokka upset at the man shouted "Why won't you let us talk to the Earth King?! We have information that could defeat the Fire nation!"

Dijin glared at Long-Feng before saying "Because he doesn't want the King to know about the war, Sokka."

The group looked at Dijin shocked before Long-Feng said "Your friend is right. The Earth King has no time to get involved with political squabbles and the day-to-day minutia of military activities."

Aang spoke up next saying "This could be the most important thing he has ever heard."

Long-Feng just kept a neutral gaze as he said "What's most important to his royal majesty is maintaining the cultural heritage of Ba Sing Se. All his duties relate to issuing decrees on such matters. It's my job to oversee the rest of the city's resources, including the military."

Dijin growled at Lon-Feng and said "Then I was right earlier! The King is nothing but your puppet so you can control the city how you see fit."

Long-Feng just said dismissively "Oh, no, no. His majesty is an Icon, a god to his people. He can't sully his hands with the hourly changes of an endless war."

Dijin just stepped forward saying "You can't hide the war forever and we will eventually find a way to tell the Earth King what we know."

Sokka stepped forward as well saying "Exactly, we found out there's going to be a solar eclipse that will leave the Fire Nation defenseless."

Long-Feng angrily stood up and shouted "Enough! I don't want to hear your ridiculous plan. It is the strict policy of Ba Sing Se that the war not be mentioned within the walls. Constant news of an escalating war will throw the citizens of Ba Sing Se into a state of panic. Our economy would be ruined, our peaceful way of life, our traditions would disappear. In silencing talk of conflict, Ba Sing Se remains a peaceful, orderly utopia. The last one on earth."

Dijin walked forward until he was Long-Feng's face and glared at him while saying "I have met so many men like you. Power hungry fools who try to make the world in their image, but I have news for you. I have personally made each of those men fall and I will do the same to you."

Long-Feng just glared at Dijin and said "Until now, you've been treated as honored guests. But from now on, you will be watched every moment by Dai Li agents. If you mention the war to anyone, you will be expelled from the city."

Long-Feng turned to face the fireplace as he smirked and said "I understand you've been searching for the Avatar's Bison. It would be quite a shame if you were not able to complete your quest."

Dijin kept glaring at Long-Feng and said "Be careful who you threaten Long-Feng, you might not live to regret it."

Long-Feng just scoffed and said "You do not frighten me Right Hand especially when you failed to protect your own city."

Dijin instantly growled out "You son of a bitch!" he then was about to lunge at Long-Feng but Sokka and Aang held him back.

Long-Feng turned towards the door and said "I tire of this conversation, Joo Dee will now escort you home."

The library door opened as a woman walked in but the Gaang were shocked to find this woman was not the same Joo Dee they met when they first arrived.

Katara went even as far as to say "Who are you? Where's Joo Dee?"

The woman just had the same creepy smile as the other Joo Dee and said "I am Joo Dee. I'll be your host as long as you're in our wonderful city. Please follow me."

After that the woman began to escort the Gaang back to their home with all of them realizing Ba Sing Se was not the safe city they thought it was.
