When Merlyn first came to Camelot and had to be a maidservant and silent protector to the prat Prince Arthur Pendragon, she never imagined she would fall for him nor did she believe the second part of her destiny; to become the Once and Future Queen. Morgana burns down Ealdor and all its people, except Hunith, taking her as a hostage. She then arrives to Camelot, and tries to make a deal with Merlin and Arthur. But she makes a big mistake. When Merlin realizes what actually happened at Ealdor, he forgets all about hiding who he is. There is now nothing for him to lose. (First Merlin fic)

When Arthur finally shows signs of life after nearly dying at the Lake of Avalon, Merlin understands why Gwen kissed him when he'd woken from his poisoned fever all those years ago. Nothing had come of that kiss. Will anything come of this one? Rated T for now.
