Sorry to the readers who were waiting for an update of Son of Thor or Perseus the Dark Destroyer. All I can say is that I had absolutely no ideas in mind for the next chapters of the two fics. But don't worry, I promise that the update for both of my other fics will be before this month ends.
Now, for this fic, currently, the harem consists of:
Cynthia
Sabrina
Misty
Serena
Dawn
Queen Ilene
Lillie
Liza (Charicific valley)
Korrina
One question. There have been some requests to add Latias (in her human form) to the harem. Are you guys okay with this? If the majority says yes, I will do it, but otherwise, no.
Also, this is an A/U fic, so don't expect Ash to have similar Pokemon as in canon! I will definitely give him the major ones like Greninja and Sceptile, but don't expect to see Taurus and Squirtle and all that. But worry not, I will give him some badass Pokemon.
Also, I referred Ash's emotional detachment with Sheldon Cooper, from The Big Bang theory. I hope it comes out good
I will address the reviews in the next chapter.
Now, let us begin today's badassery without any further delays.
Last Time :
Reaching the center of the Viridian forest, Mewtwo used his psychic powers to create an illusion around the location they were at. This was to prevent trainers from approaching them.
Setting the child down on the crib that Mewtwo had brought along with him from the baby's house, the purple feline sat down and spoke, "Hmm. You are an interesting object. I guess it won't be completely horrible to raise you up."
The baby's eyes opened again as he finished drinking the milk. Looking over at Mewtwo with his big brown eyes, the baby gurgled softly, before raising his hands.
Mewtwo had absolutely no idea what to do now. So, he extended one of his own hands towards the child, expecting the baby to give him a handshake.
Instead, the baby grabbed one of Mewtwo's fingers in his fist, before starting to suckle on it.
Groaning, the psychic feline looked up at the skies and muttered, "Not funny. Not funny at all, lord Arceus. Raising this baby isn't as easy and fun as I thought."
The baby followed Mewtwo's eyesight and looked up at the sky. The next moment, an aura sphere shot out of the baby's hands, and flew up high in the sky, where it exploded like a firecracker
The child looked amazed by this and started to clap his hands excitedly.
Mewtwo studied the child's display of power, completely surprised by it. The power that the small baby had shown was incredible, and it was nowhere near what the baby could do when he reached his full potential.
Mewtwo looked at the child's eyes, which still had a small tinge of blue in them, and spoke, "Maybe teaching you won't be so boring after all, Ash Ketchum."
Time : Three Years After The Last Chapter
Third Person POV:
"No. No, you cannot eat the tree, child. Your teeth are not strong enough to do so. The force required to eat the tree is more than what your jaw is currently capable of producing." Spoke Mewtwo as he picked the small child in front of him, who was trying to bite off a piece of wood from the big tree in front of him. Holding the child with his three-fingered paws, he set the three year-old human aside.
The small child gazed up at the purple Pokemon in front of him with teary brown eyes and pouty lips, as tears threatened to flow down his eyes.
Seeing this, Mewtwo groaned loudly and said, "Oh, stop that, Ash Ketchum. That is not going to work on me at all."
The last three years had in no way been simple for Mewtwo. Ash Ketchum was an extraordinary baby, not at all crying without reason, but even still, he was a baby. And to top that, the small baby clearly had more mana than any infant Aura Guardian should have.
Once, the small child had sneezed, and an aura sphere had been blasted out of his hand, obliterating a small plant in front of him, which was an extraordinary feat for a one-and-half year old child.
Then there was the time that baby Ash had been angry at Mewtwo for some reason that the purple feline couldn't remember now. The angry two year old had raised his hand and blasted Mewtwo with a sparkling blue aura sphere. The most surprising thing was that Mewtwo had actually felt a small twinge of pain when the sphere had struck him.
All in all, the baby Aura Guardian was a powerhouse of mana compressed in a three foot four' tall body.
Mewtwo sighed heavily, before picking the small child up and placing him down on the ground. Baby Ash's face immediately lit up with a smile as he started to waddle towards some shadows formed by a canopy of trees a small distance from them.
Mewtwo turned around and used his psychic powers to lift the child's nap-blanket and pillow and teleport it back to the small house they were staying in.
A small, childish scream snapped Mewtwo out of his job as he immediately turned around and started to fly towards the direction that baby Ash had just gone in.
Reaching a small clearing, Mewtwo saw something that horrified him to no end. On the banks of a lake, Ash Ketchum was standing face-to-face with an orange coloured lizard, who had a small fire burning at the tip of his tail. Ash's forehead had a long gash on it, just above his eyebrows. Blood was oozing out of the scratch, travelling down his cheek and nose. Clearly, the oranze lizard had scratched Ash when the boy had tried to touch him.
'Charmander' Mewtwo realized, as he immediately rushed forward to pull the young boy away from the fire lizard.
But before Mewtwo could take any action, Ash raised his hand and let out a loud scream. A deep blue bolt of aura flew out of his hand and hit the Charmander straight in his stomach. The fire type Kanto starter Pokemon was sent flying back a few feet, where he fell to the ground with swirly eyes.
The Pokemon had been knocked out by Ash's attack.
In these three years, Mewtwo had travelled as much of the world as he could, but never had he been so surprised than he was now, after seeing the series of events that had taken place.
Ash Ketchum had just defeated a powerful Pokemon with his aura power. Ash Ketchum had defeated his first Pokemon at the mere age of three. Also, Ash Ketchum would now have a long diagonal scar on his forehead for the rest of his life.
The Legendary purple feline floated to the little Aura Guardian and picked him up. Carrying him to the shore of the lake, he used the water to clean the blood off Ash's face. He then used his psychic powers to teleport a bottle of antiseptic lotion to him, and applied the lotion on Ash's wound.
Once the wound was cleaned up, Mewtwo got up and turned around, only to see that the Charmander who had been knocked out by Ash a few minutes ago, had gained consciousness and was now staring at them with big, curious eyes.
The fire type Kanto starter slowly started to trot towards Ash and Mewtwo. Seeing the Pokemon approach them, Ash clapped his hands, obviously not understanding that the same reptilian Pokemon had harmed him a few minutes ago. Mewtwo, on the other hand, readied a purple sphere of energy to blast the Charmander with, incase the fire lizard tried to harm Ash.
After seeing the world, Mewtwo would not hesitate to admit that he hated humans. Nay, he was utterly indifferent to the human species, but one thing he couldn't deny was that he had grown attached to the small Aura Guardian growing in his care. Over the three years, Mewtwo had started to feel a certain, unfamiliar feeling towards baby Ash.
Fondness. Something that he had never thought he would feel for a human. But as proven a thousand times before, Ash Ketchum was different.
And he would be damned if he let anything happen to the only human that he was fond of.
Mewtwo observed with narrow eyes as the Charmander slowly approached them with a curious, yet slightly nervous look on his face. The charmander was clearly a male, and by the look of it, a young one. Most probably born just a week or so ago.
The Charmander approached Ash and Mewtwo, before slowly leaning forward and licking Ash on the face, where he had scratched him earlier. He then backed away and tilted his head, looking at and observing the human and the purple feline Pokemon in front of him.
Mewtwo studied the Charmander's expression and deduced it - respect. The Charmander knew that he had been beaten by Ash, and thus, he respected the Aura Guardian. It was a trait that all Charmander, Charmeleon and Charizard had. They were extremely proud Pokemon and would not even pay attention to a weaker enemy, but if they were defeated by someone, they respected the opponent with complete sincerity.
Mewtwo watched on as Ash gave a toothy grin. The Aura Guardian reached out with his
hand and started to pet the Charmander as if it was a dog.
Mewtwo got an idea and set Ash down on the ground, before using his psychic powers to lift Ash and the Charmander up. Carrying them back to their small house, Mewtwo opened the door and summoned a pokeball from Ash's room with his psychic powers.
Handing the pokeball to Ash, Mewtwo spoke, "Here, touch your new friend with this."
Baby Ash just nodded, not really understanding what Mewtwo wanted from him. Trusting his guardian, Ash extended his hand and touched the Charmander on the head with the weird red and white ball in his hand.
To his immense surprise and shock, the orange lizard glowed red for a moment, before getting sucked in the weird ball that he was holding in his hand.
The ball in his hand started to vibrate, surprising Ash and making him drop it on the ground. The ball vibrated for a few more seconds, before finally going still. Ash looked up at Mewtwo and asked, "Where did he go?"
Mewtwo just bent down and picked up the pokeball. Studying the pokeball for a few moments, he then threw it on the ground in front of him. As soon as the pokeball made contact with the ground, it flashed a red colour, before disappearing and reappearing back in Mewtwo's hands. Where the pokeball had hit the ground, now stood the Charmander who had been sucked into the ball.
Ash gasped in surprise, before standing up and walking towards the Charmander. Reaching the Pokemon, Ash patted the Charmander on his head, earning himself a contented groan and a puff of Ash from the orange lizard.
The rest of the day, Ash played with the Charmander, with both of them bonding with each other. This was how Ash Ketchum, the most powerful Aura Guardian born till date, caught his first Pokemon.
Time skip : Seven Years Later
Third Person POV
As he saw the flames approaching him, Ash knew that he had to dodge them, block them, or at least deflect them, or this would be his end.
Using his aura powers, he made two sparkling blue shields and put them in front of him. The burning hot red flames hit the sparkling blue aura shield, making dust blow all over the area due to the shockwave caused by the flames meeting the shield.
Ash was sent skidding back, as he tried, but ultimately failed to keep his balance. The good news was, that he had managed to block the flames that were going to hit him. But the bad news was that he didn't have enough time to counter the next blow that his opponent sent towards him.
The last second, Ash put up his hands in front of him, as he felt the claws of his opponent hit his hands, drawing blood. He bit his lip, trying to prevent a scream of pain escape his lips. The next moment, the claws of his opponent were resting in front of his throat, ready to skewer him if he did not surrender.
Ash let a small groan slip out of his lips, which was a feat considering that the pain in his arm was killing him. "I give up. You win, Rok."
His opponent pulled back his claws and extended his hand for Ash to grab. Grabbing the offered hand, Ash hauled himself up to face his opponent. In front of him, in the form of his opponent, stood a little dragon/lizard that was almost a foot shorter than him.
The orange lizard had two pointy ear like structures on his head, kind of like dragon horns. His claws were extremely sharp, and his snout was long like that of a dragon. A wicked smirk played on his lips. This was a Charmeleon, the evolution of Charmander. Yes, this was the same Charmander that Ash had caught seven years ago, the Pokemon who had given Ash the scar that now rested on his forehead.
Mewtwo had been training Ash and his Charmander, who Ash had named Ragnarok, in fighting. Mewtwo had been teaching Ragnarok his fire related moves and other physical attacks. Mewtwo had also been teaching Ash how to control and use his aura to his advantage. As it turned out, Ash had an unbelievable amount of mana storage that he could use as aura, which helped him hold his end while facing his extremely powerful Charmeleon.
In the previous seven years, both Ash and Ragnarok had grown incredibly strong, meaning that Ragnarok could easily give a Charizard a tough fight.
Ash and Ragnarok then turned around to face their mentor, the purple feline known as Mewtwo. Said Legendary Pokemon was staring at them with a stoic, unreadable expression, which Ash and his Charmeleon still couldn't read, however hard they tried.
"Your attack was good, Ragnarok. Much faster and accurate than your previous fight with Ash. Ash, you were good, but there is still a high scope for improvement. Your physical strength can improve very much." Mewtwo spoke in the most emotionless voice that Ash had heard. Not that he had heard many voices in the ten years of his life. The only two voices he had heard and he could remember of were Mewtwo's, and Ragnarok's. Oh, and added to it, Ragnarok's voice was actually just a pronounciation of his name like most other Pokemon.
"I think that you are now ready for your first outing, Ash. I believe it is time for you to officially catch your next Pokemon. So, take Ragnarok and travel the Viridian forest. Bring back with you a Pokemon that you catch. Now, get going and be back before sunset." Mewtwo added, as he waved his hand, signalling for the Aura Guardian and his Charmeleon to leave for their task.
Ash felt a small sliver of some unknown emotion fill his heart. Having grown up under Mewtwo's care, Ash had never really considered emotions to be something of mucn importance. As Mewtwo said, emotions were a waste of time and efforts that humans showed for reasons unknown, or unimportant.
Ash turned to face his friend and Pokemon, nodding at him. He received a nod from his Charmeleon, who was eager to finally show his strength to someone other than Ash and Mewtwo. As mentioned earlier, Charmeleon are very proud Pokemon.
Ash raised his pokeball and pressed the small white button. A beam of red light was emitted from the pokeball, which went on to strike Ragnarok the Charmeleon. Ragnarok glowed red for a moment, before getting sucked inside the pokeball. Clutching the pokeball in his hand, Ash made it shrink, before hanging it on the necklace that he always wore. It was a simple, yet elegant platinum chain that had been gifted to him by Mewtwo when Ash had first been handed Ragnarok's pokeball.
Turning around, Ash started to walk towards the direction where the Viridian forest was denser and more dangerous. He knew that the chances of finding a truly powerful Pokemon in the Viridian forest were pretty slim, but if there was one area he could trust that he would find powerful Pokemon, was the
denser areas of the forest. Areas that most trainers usually avoided.
Walking towards the denser ends of the forest, Ash kept his eyes open and kept his aura floating out of his body, ready to pick up any presences near him.
He came to an abrupt stop when he felt a powerful aura nearing him at a slow, stealthy pace. Ash waited in his position for a few moments, slowly reaching his hand to his necklace and unclipped the pokeball from it.
The next moment, a rustling was heard from the trees and out stepped a huge green figure. It had a snout almost similar to Charmeleon's, yet at the same time, completely different. It resembled a mantis, and also had two wings that enabled flight. It had two razor-sharp scythes for arms. Ash was completely sure that the Pokemon in front of him could kill a human with those razor sharp blades that were his upper limbs.
"Scyther" Ash spoke as he recognized the Pokemon in front of him. The mantis Pokemon was one of the strongest bug type Pokemon in all of the Kanto region.
Without wasting a moment, Ash threw his pokeball onto the ground in front of him. The ball glowed in red colour, before returning to Ash. In between the Scyther and Ash, there now stood Ragnarok.
The Charmeleon stood fearlessly in front of the Bug type Pokemon in front of him, not even slightly intimidated by the razor sharp blades that his opponent had.
Ragnarok just turned around and nodded to Ash. He was ready for his first official fight with another Pokemon. He was ready to show his strength.
Ash nodded back, before ordering, "Ragnarok, start with a basic attack. Use ember."
Ragnarok nodded, before opening his mouth and blowing out hot flames at the bug Pokemon in front of him.
Scyther blocked the attack with his twin blades, before dashing forward and tackling Ragnarok. Ash's Charmeleon was sent skidding back, where he came to a stop about ten feet from his original position. He didn't seem hurt, but he was definitely pissed off.
He was pissed that a weaker Pokemon had managed to land a hit on him.
Ash understood the emotions of his Pokemon and spoke, "Okay Rok. Let's finish this. Use fire fang and defeat him."
Ragnarok gave a wicked grin, before opening his mouth and showing his sharp fangs. The next moment, these fangs were covered in burning hot fire as Ragnarok jumped towards the Scyther.
The bug Pokemon had absolutely no time to counter the attack or even dodge it, as Ragnarok reached him faster than possible for a normal Charmeleon.
Ragnarok reached the Scyther and bit him on the neck with his flaming fangs, as the Scyther let out a loud cry of pain, screaming at the Charmeleon to let it go.
After a good five seconds, Ragnarok pulled back. Immediately Ash ordered, "Now, use Slash."
Ragnarok immediately raised his claws and slashed the Scyther in his abdomen, eliciting an even louder cry of pain from the majestic bug.
Ragnarok stepped back after completing his attack, and observed his opponent. The Scyther took one step forward, before falling to the ground with swirls in his eyes.
Seeing this, Ragnarok looked towards the sky and blew out flames from his mouth, celebrating his first official victory against a Pokemon.
Ash pulled out one of the few pokeballs that he had and tossed it onto the knocked out Scyther. The ball and the Pokemon glowed red for a few moments, before sucking up the bug/flying type Pokemon.
Ash walked over to the pokeball and picked it up. Showing it to Ragnarok, he spoke, "Look at this, Ragnarok. The first Pokemon we caught as a team. Incredible, eh?"
Ragnarok nodded his head in affirmation to Ash's words, before letting out a small yawn of boredom.
Ash nodded his head. "Yes. I know that the Scyther didn't provide as much competition as you wanted, my friend. But do remember, you are stronger than most of the Pokemon that we will encounter in the near future. So, you will get used to this."
Ragnarok nodded at his master, before signalling for Ash to call him back in the pokeball. Ash complied with this and pressed the white button on Ragnarok's pokeball. The signatory red beam hit Ragnarok and he was sucked inside the pokeball.
Seeing that he still had about one hour before it got dark, Ash decided to keep walking and try to capture another Pokemon before he went back to the house.
After about thirty five minutes of walking, Ash stopped in his tracks as he felt an aura presence around him. It was swift, moving from one place to another with a speed that surprised Ash.
Keeping his focus on the Aura, Ash followed it's movements, moving his body in accordance to it.
A few moments later, the leaves rustled in the place where Ash was currently sensing the Pokemon's aura from. The next moment, a yellow mouse ran out in the clearing and stood upright with his hands in front of his stomach. Staring at Ash, the mouse spoke in an extremely cute voice, "Pikapika chu pika?"
Ash tilted his head before examining the small yellow mouse in front of him. The Pokemon was small, smaller than Ragnarok when he had been a Charmander. He had red circles around his cheeks, that were sparkling with small electric impulses as he stared at Ash curiously. He had a funny yellow tail, that went straight up in the shape of a lightning bolt.
'Pikachu' Ash recognized the small yellow Pokemon.
Ash met Pikachu's stare, before slowly bending down and holding his hand out in invitation to the pokemon, as a symbol that he didn't mean the Pikachu any harm.
The yellow electric mouse turned his stare to the hand that the human in front of him had extended towards him. Slowly, he moved forward and placed his small paw on the larger hand that the human in front of him had extended to him.
Studying the human in front of him for a few more moments, the Pikachu finally let out a bright smile. "Pipikapika chupika!" He exclaimed and rubbed his sparking cheek on Ash's hand.
Ash felt sparks of electricity run up his hand, and it felt tickly. But he made absolutely no move to stop the Pikachu, not wanting to frighten him.
"Do you want to join me, little fellow?" Ash asked the yellow electric mouse in front of him. The Pikachu looked up to his eyes and then gave out a happy sound of 'Pikapika', which Ash figured was him saying yes.
Nodding, the aura Guardian reached to his belt and pulled out an empty pokeball from it. Clicking the button, he enlarged the pokeball and extended it to the Pikachu.
The yellow mouse immediately backed away from the pokeball, shaking his head and muttering, "Chapika chu pikapika."
"Hmm. Interesting. You don't like pokeballs, eh? Well you see my friend, I need to capture you in a pokeball in order to make you my Pokemon." Ash tried to explain to the Pikachu.
But his efforts were in vain as the Pikachu still shook his head no and backed away further.
Ash thought for a moment before speaking, "Hey! Let's do it like this. You let me catch you with a pokeball, but then I will bring you out and let you stay outside the pokeball. How's this?"
The Pikachu thought about this for a few moments, before nodding and walking forward. Ash lifted the pokeball and tapped it on the Pikachu's head. The yellow mouse was covered in a red outline, before getting sucked up by the pokeball.
Ash raised the pokeball and studied it for a few moments, before throwing it onto the ground in front of him. The ball glowed red for a moment, before returning back into Ash's hand. In front of him now stood his new Pokemon, his first electric type Pokemon - Pikachu.
Standing up, Ash gazed at the sky above him. Checking the position of the sun in the sky, Ash deciphered that he had about ten minutes till sunset. Looking down at the Pikachu, Ash spoke, "We should go back to the house, friend. So, do you want to walk with me, or something else?"
The Pikachu tilted his head, before getting to all four of limbs and running to Ash. Reaching the Aura Guardian, the Pokemon climbed his body and rested himself on Ash's shoulder.
Ash was surprised by this, but he decided to ignore it. Shrugging, he started to walk in the direction of their house, thinking about the two Pokemon he had caught earlier, one of which was currently perched on his shoulder, gazing at the trees around them.
Lost in his thoughts, Ash didn't even realize it when he reached the house. There, Mewtwo was waiting for them, sitting in a meditating position with his tail waving slightly in the air.
His eyes were closed and a light purple aura covered his entire body as he meditated.
Deciding not to disturb the psychic feline Pokemon, Ash just walked inside the house and sat down on his bed. Using his aura powers, he lifted the water jar at the end of his room and made it float towards him. Taking a drink out of it, he then placed it back onto the ground and stood up. All this while, Pikachu still sat on his shoulder, before climbing down and making himself comfortable on the bed.
Stretching himself for a few moments, Ash then walked out of the room and saw that Mewtwo had completed his meditation and was now walking inside the house.
Without even facing Ash, the purple feline Pokemon asked, "So, which Pokemon did you catch? Also, if you say weedle or something like that, I swear to Arceus that I will beat you to death right here."
Ash gulped at the thought of Mewtwo beating him to death. That cat was extremely scary when he wanted to be.
Ash nodded and let out a whistle, "Come on out, buddy."
The next moment, his new Pikachu ran into the room and climbed up on Ash's shoulder. He stared at the purple Pokemon in front of him curiously, not having seen such a Pokemon in all of his life.
Mewtwo stared back at the Pikachu scrutinizingly, as if studying him. Finally, he broke the staring contest and looked at Ash. "A strong Pikachu. Not bad for your first Pokemon. Not bad at all."
Ash spoke up, "Umm. Actually, Pikachu here wasn't the first Pokemon that I caught. I caught another one before him. Here he is-"
He grabbed the pokeball from his belt and tossed it onto the ground. It glowed red before returning back into Ash's hand. In its place now stood the mantis resembling Pokemon.
"Scyytherr." The bug/flying Pokemon exclaimed as he looked around, taking in his new surroundings. When he saw Mewtwo, he immediately raised his razor sharp blades in a cross shape in front of him, trying to intimidate the purple feline in front of him.
Mewtwo rolled his eyes and pointed his three fingered paw at Scyther. Immediately, Scyther was enveloped in a purple aura, which didn't give him even a slight chance of moving.
"Learn to study your opponents before acting up, Scyther." He spoke before letting go of the aura barrier around the bug/flying Pokemon.
The Scyther immediately dropped to the ground and backed away from Mewtwo.
Mewtwo didn't pay him any attention as he turned to Ash. "Although somewhat stupid, even the Scyther is strong. But I believe Ragnarok did not have any problem dealing with him. Am I right?"
Ash nodded, before unclipping his necklace and enlarging Ragnarok's pokeball. Tossing the pokeball on the ground, Ash saw as his first Pokemon emerged from it.
The Charmeleon known as Ragnarok rose to his full height, before scratching his back lazily. Gazing at the Scyther, he tilted his head slightly, before turning to the Pikachu.
After examining the small electric mouse for a few moments, he finally walked over to it and patted it on the head like one would do to a small kid. This seemed to irk the Pikachu, as he let out a few sparks from his cheeks.
But the next moment, Ragnarok bared his teeth and stared straight into the electric mouse's eyes, glaring at him with a look of authority. The fire burning at the tip of his tail flared up and grew even taller than him, making him look even more intimidating.
Ash realized what was going on between the three Pokemon he had caught. Ragnarok was clearly showing off his dominance and that he was the Alpha Pokemon between the three.
The Pikachu immediately broke eye contact and ran up to Ash, climbing his shoulder and hiding from the terrifying glare that the vermillion fire lizard Pokemon was giving him.
Having established his point, Ragnarok gave out a crooked draconic grin, before walking to his smaller bed beside Ash's, and lying down on it.
Mewtwo, who had been silent throughout the interaction between the three Pokemon, finally spoke up. "Alright. Now that you are done with all your stupid activities, I say that we eat something and get a good night's sleep. Training for Scyther and Pikachu starts tomorrow morning. And trust me on this, it is going to be hell for you two."
He rose in the air and started to float towards the dining table, simultaneously using his telekinetic abilities to make the food float towards them.
Setting five dishes on the table, Mewtwo made Pokemon berries fill up three of the five dishes. After doing so, he placed the dishes in front of Ragnarok, Pikachu and Scyther.
Meanwhile, Ash filled his and Mewtwo's dish with mashed potatoes and some grilled salmon.
Mewtwo dug into his food, relishing the taste of the perfectly grilled fish in front of him. Since raising Ash, Mewtwo had always eaten the human food in place of Pokemon berries. And he had to admit it- even though he hated humans, he did like their food. Much more than he would be willing to admit.
While eating, he turned his attention to the three Pokemon and one human sitting with him at the table. Firstly there was the Pikachu. Undoubtedly, he was currently the weakest of the three Pokemon. But he definitely had the potential to reach a level of strength that very few Pokemon were able to reach. He just needed some training and advise in his power usage.
Then Mewtwo turned his attention to the Scyther. When he had first seen the bug/flying type Pokemon, he had immediately sensed the admirable amount of raw power he was emanating. Being made out of the DNA copy of Mew, Mewtwo had an extremely helpful ability of sensing the amount of raw power, or as they call it- mana, radiating from a person or Pokemon. The only other Pokemon who could do this was Mew and Lucario.
Anyway, the bug Pokemon was definitely strong enough to one day give Ragnarok a tough fight, but currently, he was nowhere near the Charmeleon's level. But rigorous training in his speed and strength could make the Scyther a very formidable opponent.
After this, Mewtwo turned his attention to Ragnarok, the Charmeleon who was a small Charmander just a few months prior.
Ragnarok was the strongest Charmander/ Charmeleon that Mewtwo had seen in all of Kanto region. His raw strength, as well as his elemental power was impeccable. There was a defined perfection in Ragnarok's attacks, something that you couldn't see even in the most experienced and skilled Pokemon.
Maybe it was because of his bond with Ash, or maybe it was just seven years of rigorous training, but Mewtwo was sure that Ragnarok could now give a full grown Gyarados a run for his money.
In the end, Mewtwo turned his attention to Ash Ketchum, the only human being at the table. The ten year old was almost as strong as most Aura Guardians were in their prime time. Mewtwo could only imagine the heights that Ash's Aura powers would touch when he gained full control over them. He would be almost as formidable as a Lucario.
One thing about Ash that Mewtwo was extremely proud of, was his ability to not show any emotions. Like Mewtwo, Ash had never been one to openly show his emotions and act on them. He chose to rather be stoic and cold, not letting anything get to him. It worked wonders for him, as Mewtwo had personally experienced small pangs of nervousness when he had seen Ash's poker face in the middle of a battle.
Mewtwo was happy that he was keeping his word and training Ash Ketchum to be the best Pokemon trainer and strongest Aura Guardian the World would ever see. Also, Arceus bless the boy for being so eager to learn and not having the smallest bit of bad attitude in him.
Mewtwo snapped out of his musings when he heard Ash call him. Looking up, he heard Ash speak, "I have finished my food. I think I will go and get some sleep. Tomorrow is a big day after all." Ash gazed at his two new Pokemon when he spoke the last line.
Mewtwo nodded. "Yes, of course. That would be a good course of action. Have a good night, Ash."
Ash shook his head affirmative and replied, "You too, Mewtwo."
He then saw that both Scyther and Pikachu had eaten their food, while Ragnarok had just helped himself to a second serving of berries.
Gesturing for his two new Pokemon to follow him, Ash walked towards his bedroom and dragged out another cot from the side of the room. Setting it as far as Ragnarok's bed as he could, Ash turned to Scyther and spoke, "Here. You can sleep here from now. Tell Mewtwo or me if you need something. Alright?"
His Scyther nodded, before plopping down on the cot offered to him and immediately falling asleep.
Ash then turned to his bed and picked up his pillow cushion. Setting it down on the floor a little way from his bed, he signalled for the Pikachu to come over.
"You can sleep here, friend. Have a good night."
The Pikachu purred loudly, before scurrying to the pillow and lying down on it. Within moments, he was out cold, the day's exhaustion taking its toll on him.
Ash himself walked towards his bed and took off the shirt he was wearing. Keeping it under his head like a pillow, he laid down on the bed and closed his eyes, waiting for sleep to take over his consciousness.
Waiting for sleep to take him, he thought back to the battle between Ragnarok and Scyther that had happened earlier. He had known that Ragnarok would undoubtedly win, he hadn't expected Scyther to land a hit on his Charmeleon. Well, it was partially Ragnarok's fault for being overconfident. But still, he would have to see to it that in the future, his Charmeleon wouldn't be hit by attacks.
Still thinking of this, Ash did not realize when his mind stopped processing the information, and finally fell asleep, eager to see what the next day would bring.
Time skip : Four Years later
Third Person POV
Ash stood on one side of the small battlefield that Mewtwo had made for them to practice on. His eyes were narrowed as he studied the Pokemon battling in the ground.
In front of him stood Ragnarok, with his back facing Ash. He looked slightly winded, but completely unharmed, not even having been hit by a single strike from his opponents.
Yes, opponents. Facing Ragnarok were Pikachu and Scyther, the two Pokemon Ash had caught about three years ago.
Both of them were now much stronger than three years ago, but were still no match for Ragnarok in a one on one match. The Charmeleon was in a league of his own.
On a raised platform beside the ground, stood Mewtwo. He was gazing down at the three Pokemon fighting in the field, refereeing the match.
"Ragnarok, use slash at Pikachu and follow up with an ember at Scyther." Ash ordered, as his Charmeleon let out a roar of approval.
Running forward at surprising speed, Ragnarok used his claws to slash Pikachu. The electric mouse tried to evade the attack, but found himself unable to react in time.
The slash attack struck Pikachu, sending him flying backwards by about ten feet, where he landed on the ground.
As Ragnarok turned in Scyther's direction to release ember, he saw the bug/flying type mantis Pokemon missing from his place. The next moment, Ragnarok's ears perked up as he immediately dropped flat to the ground.
He was not a single moment late, as Scyther's blades narrowly missed hitting Ragnarok on the head, in what could be classified as nothing but a knock out move.
Without wasting a moment, Ragnarok stood to his feet and waited for the next command from his trainer. In perfect coordination, Ash ordered, "Use flamethrower while his back is turned to you."
Ragnarok followed Ash's order and sucked in a deep breath. Then, he opened his mouth again and blew out a spinning tornado of burning hot fire. The fire hit Scyther straight in his back, making him arch his back and scream out in pain.
"Now, finish him off with fire fang." Ash ordered, as Ragnarok smirked at the prospect of using his favourite knock out move.
The next moment, Ragnarok leaped at Scyther, baring his extremely sharp fangs. Reaching the bug Pokemon, he immediately dug his fang into Scyther's neck and released a red, hot blast of fire.
Scyther screamed again, before falling limp in Ragnarok's hands, his eyes swirling. The Charmeleon let go of the Scyther and dropped him on the ground.
Turning his attention to Pikachu, Ash saw that the electric mouse was now standing, although he was panting heavily from the slash attack he had suffered. He was using the last remaining energy to create a Powerful thunderbolt to try and defeat Ragnarok.
"Ragnarok, pick Scyther up and place him between you and Pikachu, immediately." Ash ordered coolly as his Charmeleon followed his order.
Ragnarok lifted the unconscious Scyther's body and held it between him and Pikachu. The next moment, he felt a blast of electricity hit Scyther, whose body shuddered after bearing the brunt of Pikachu's attack.
As soon as the attack stopped, Ragnarok dropped Scyther back onto the ground, before facing Pikachu. The electric mouse was now barely standing, ceremoniously falling down to one knee as he struggled to maintain his consciousness.
"Use ember and finish the battle, Rok." Ash commanded.
Ragnarok took another deep breath and blew out a hot, yet weaker blast of fire at Pikachu. The yellow mouse was too tired to even dodge the attack. Taking it head on, Pikachu let out a weak whimper before dropping onto the ground in an unconscious heap.
Ragnarok turned back to Ash and gave him a slight nod, which was reciprocated by the Aura Guardian. The Charmeleon looked slightly winded, as he was taking deeper and heavier breaths than normal. He was covered in soot from a few attacks that he had countered. But otherwise, he looked absolutely fine.
"Excellent fight, Ragnarok. This is the first time you managed to defeat them both without being hit even once. That is incredible." Ash said with pride, yet not letting any emotion slip onto his face or in his words.
Ragnarok nodded, before picking his pokeball and tapping it on his head. The pokeball sucked him inside, leaving Ash and Mewtwo standing on the ground with two unconscious Pokemon with them.
"He has improved very much, hasn't he?" Ash asked Mewtwo, who had floated over to him from his place at the upraised land.
"Yes. I have to agree that Ragnarok has indeed improved dramatically. I await the fateful day in the future when his power rivals that of mine. I would want to fight him in a proper battle then." Mewtwo replied, while picking the Pikachu up with his telekinesis and making him float towards the house.
Ash meanwhile enlarged Scyther's pokeball and pressed the white button. A red beam of light emerged from the pokeball and struck Scyther, sucking him up in the ball.
"So, tomorrow you leave for starting your journey through the kanto region." Mewtwo spoke with a stoic expression.
Ash nodded with an equally perfect poker face. "Yes, that is true. I will be challenging the Pewter city gym first."
Mewtwo asked, "But that gym is supposed to be for rock type Pokemon. And all three of your Pokemon are supposed to be incredibly weak against rock type ones. What do you plan to do?"
Ash rotated his neck, letting out a small groan when he felt the popping sound. "Oh, I plan to use Ragnarok and finish the battle as soon as I can. I think he will be able to defeat all three Pokemon by himself."
Mewtwo stared at him for a minute, before ultimately nodding. "Yes. That sounds like the best course of action. Ragnarok should be able to defeat any Pokemon that the gym leader throws at you."
"Yes he should. Then will be the Cerulean city gym. That should be easy with Pikachu and Scyther. Anyway, I should get going and pack my clothes and other necessities for tomorrow." Ash spoke and turned around, walking towards their house.
The next morning, Ash got up and followed his regular routine of some push-ups, pull-ups, and a small jog in the forest. He then had a fresh bath, before putting on a simple black sleeved shirt and a pair of navy blue jeans. Putting on his sneakers, he then walked out of his room and saw Mewtwo meditating, something which the psychic feline did far too often for Ash to be surprised by it.
Sensing Ash approach, Mewtwo opened his eyes and stood up. "So, are you ready for your journey?" He asked the thirteen year old boy he had raised since he was a mere baby.
Ash nodded. "I will miss you, Mewtwo." He spoke, as he felt a slight wetness at the corner of his eyes. Immediately, he wiped it away.
Mewtwo spoke, "I see you let some emotions slip through. Hmm, good to know that you will miss me enough for your emotions to seep out of your stoic expression."
Then, he stepped closer to Ash. "I admit that I am nor familiar, nor comfortable with humane shows of intimacy and feelings. But, I do believe that when someone is going away, they do something like this."
He then put his hands awkwardly around Ash, patting his back uncomfortably. Ash looked just as uncomfortable as Mewtwo, not having been hugged in the previous fourteen years of his life. So, he just awkwardly stood there as the feline Pokemon gave him an equally awkward hug.
As the mental count of five, Mewtwo released his hold on Ash and stepped back. In a sync, both he and Ash gasped out, happy that the unpleasant and awkward moment was gone.
"So umm. I must get going. Bye, Mewtwo." Ash spoke after fake-coughing. Mewtwo nodded his head and Ash turned towards the door and walked out of it.
"Well, that was weird." He spoke to himself as he started to walk down the forest towards the North, in the direction of Pewter city.
He had been walking for a few hours, when he came to a clearing. He stopped for a moment and gazed at the natural beauty of the water running across the river bank. That is when a thought struck him. He realized that he didn't know the way to Pewter city other than that it was in the North.
Heck, he didn't know most of human ways and lifestyles. He needed a guide, someone who understood humans and was familiar with their way.
He needed…… a human guide.
As if Arceus had heard his prayers, he heard a splash of water and a female human landed on the river bank. As Ash turned to face her, he saw that she was almost as tall as him, and had fiery red hair tied up with a navy blue hair bow.
She wore a yellow crop top and jean shorts held up with red suspenders. Most of her midriff was revealed, confusing Ash as he had heard that humans preferred time be covered with their clothes. She wore red, yellow and white sneakers with it, and also carried a red drawstring backpack with it.
She had just jumped out of the water, and Ash could see a starfish-like Pokemon beside her. It was brown and had a red ruby in it's centre, that was placed in a golden circle.
'Staryu' Ash recognized the water Pokemon.
As he stood there with no idea of what to do, he saw the girl finally look up and spot him. For some reason, her cheeks turned a light pink colour when she saw him. Ash tried to think of a reason for this, but the best he could come up with was that she was cold due to being wet after being in the water.
Walking up to her, he removed his jacket from his backpack and extended it over to her. "Here you go, miss." He spoke coolly.
The redhead looked up at him with a confused expression. "Why would I want this?" She asked, perplexed at the fact that a complete, although extremely cute stranger had handed her a jacket, mid-day in the middle of Summer season.
Ash shrugged and replied, "I saw your cheeks turn pink when you saw me. So, I figured that it was because you were feeling cold. That is why I am giving you my jacket. I have heard that it is something that humans call proper etiquette. Oh, and also something called chivalry, though I have absolutely no idea what that is."
"Huh. Woww! That was weird." The redhead spoke as she stood up and used a towel to dry her hair.
Ash shrugged again, not changing his expression for a moment. "I guess it is. Though I still fail to understand what happened to your cheeks when you saw me. Anyway, from your nonchalance, I think that it does not matter. So, let me start afresh. My name is Ash Ketchum. What is your name?"
He asked, trying to start a conversation. He remembered that humans, especially female humans liked to converse with each other.
The redhead put the towel back in her bag and faced Ash again. "Hello Ash. It is nice to meet you. My name is Misty."
Ash nodded and thought of other things to speak about, but his introverted mind gave him absolutely no topics. So, he just stood there like an idiot, staring at Misty blankly.
After a few minutes of extremely uncomfortable silence, out of the blue, Ash spoke, "Misty, would you be willing to travel with me to Pewter city?"
