I was asked to write a story, where Kili and Tauriel have a baby. However, we all know Kili does not survive the Battle of Five Armies. So I decided to involve the ancient Valars in this story, in order to make it happen. This is NOT an alternate ending to Interlaced or any other story of mine. When an adventure is put onto paper, the will author takes certain liberty with the facts. Some, for the sake of the parties involved; others for the author's own selfish reasons. For what ever the reasons, this is one of those stories. It is a story that begins in a hole in the ground with a meddling wizard and one particular hobbit who does not want an adventure.

When the Goblin King singles Ori out as the youngest, thereby condemning him to torture, Kili can't stand idly by. He steps forward and owns his true age as the youngest of the company. His Malevolence is delighted. Thorin is livid. And Fili is determined his brother will get through this, and is prepared to do whatever necessary to ensure it. Based on Peter Jackson's Movies.

What if the Durins were not the only ones to dies in or shortly after the battle of five armies ? This is my take on what could have happened and how the survivors feel in the time following the battle. I don't own any of the characters, they belong to Tolkien.

Kili runs into the woods after an argument with Thorin and it's up to Fili to save him from the dangers within.

King Bard is unaccustomed to fancy clothes. His advisers and subjects in Dale are commoners, and his children have strange notions of what royalty ought to wear. Their joint attempts to dress Bard properly for an official reception end in disaster, as Thranduil is offended by such flagrant disregard of style. Dáin is not amused.
