Falling in love is hard to do; especially for a young adult male threehorn who has fallen in love with a young adult female longneck named Jenna. To make matters worse, his oldest uncles Tiles and Viles believed that longnecks and threehorns can't even be friends, much less talk to each other. The three males are at Tiles's and Viles's nest having a serious discussion about the problem.
"Uncles, I'm in love with Jenna and there's nothing you can do that will convince me to stop seeing her," Topsy declared.
The black adult and the white adult glared at the young adult; no matter how old Topsy gets, he would never be too old to be told what to do. Despite their anger, Tiles and Viles knew that yelling wasn't gonna help; however, that didn't stop them from speaking to the young adult with a calm, but firm voice.
"Listen, you; We're your guardians, so you'll do as We say; as of right now, you're not to come into contact with that flathead or her family, is that understood?" Tiles and Viles demanded.
"Why do you have to be such jerks?" Topsy asked.
"If you had listened to your oldest aunts years ago instead of your stupid father and mother-"
Just then, Topsy rammed himself into the adults. Luckily for him, Tiles and Viles were knocked onto their hindquarters.
"Never. Speak. Ill. Of. My. Father. And. My. Mother. AGAIN! Do you understand?" Topsy demanded.
Once Tiles and Viles had gotten to their feet, they got up into Topsy's face.
"Get...out...GET OUT! YOU'RE A DISGRACE TO THIS FAMILY, TO THIS VALLEY AND TO THE DINOSAUR WORLD IN GENERAL!" Tiles and Viles shouted.
Topsy was more than happy to oblige since Tiles and Viles are twice as controlling as they were before their wifes died. At first, Topsy could barely tolerate them; now, he hates them. Soon enough, Topsy ran off to the far end of the valley where there was a big grove of trees.
Meanwhile, Jenna was having a talk with her parents. Her father has noticed that she always seemed really happy after getting some alone time with Topsy.
"Mom, Dad; I'm in love," Jenna said.
All of a sudden, her aunts and uncles and grandparents and great grandparents and grandcustodians and grandguardians showed up. The youngest aunts and uncles seemed to be more understanding as well as her grandparents and great grandparents.
"With that horn-faced moron with the mother and father who were just as stupid," Serafina and Rerafina sneered.
Jenna could tell that her father was furious; since, his tail twitches when he gets like that.
"Don't you ever talk about Topsy and Tyrone and Tasha like that again!" Kenneth demanded.
"Yeah; Tyrone and Tasha are dead, you know! Show a little respect!" Jenna added.
Serafina and Rerafina couldn't help but notice Miles and Niles smirking at them.
"Never insult someone's father and mother; even if that someone is a horn-face," Miles and Niles sneered.
"Miles and Niles, shut up! You're not thinking of supporting Jenna's choice are you?" Serafina and Rerafina demanded.
"Not really; We're just as opposed to this as you are," Miles and Niles defended themselves.
"But, you're nowhere nearly as obnoxious as my oldest sisters are when it comes to prejudice," Kenneth commented.
"Kenneth, if you don't shut your mouth right now, I'm gonna kick the living shit out of you!" Serafina and Rerafina threatened.
"But Serafina and Rerafina-"
"Quiet Hector and Lillian! I didn't ask for your opinions!" Serafina and Rerafina snarled.
"But Serafina and Rerafina-"
"Quiet Ignatius and Connie! I didn't ask for your opinions!" Serafina and Rerafina snarled.
"But Serafina and Rerafina-"
"Quiet Oscar and Olivia and Uscar and Ulivia! I didn't ask for your opinions!" Serafina and Rerafina snarled.
"But Serafina and Rerafina-"
"Quiet Jack and Jemma and John and Janna! I didn't ask for your opinions!" Serafina and Rerafina snarled.
Kenneth sighed. There was no way of winning an argument with Serafina, Rerafina, Miles, Niles or his custodians or his guardians. He then decided it was a good idea to go for a walk so he can calm down. Upon reaching a grove of trees, he heard sniffling and some quiet crying sounds from Topsy. Soon enough, the young adult came out from his hiding spot and looked up at the adult.
"Hey, would you mind telling me what has gotten you so upset?" Kenneth asked.
"My oldest uncles...they...kicked me out...of the nest...say I'm...a disgrace...to the family...to the valley...and to...the dinosaur world...in general; I don't care if they hate me since I hate them; they also say that my father and my mother were stupid for allowing me to be friends with other species," Topsy explained.
"My oldest sisters and custodians said the exact same thing; you see, I was a friend of your mother when we were young; along with Kosh's mother Lottie; you do know what kind of pressure I was under since you're going through the same thing; although with me, I wasn't in love with your mother or Lottie; we were just playmates; I understand that you love Jenna and I think you would be a better husband for her than any male longneck she might meet," Kenneth responded.
Topsy smiled.
"I appreciate your kind words; thank you," Topsy commented.
"Would I tell you all those nice things if I didn't mean it?" Kenneth wondered.
"Probably not," Topsy answered.
"That's right; I'd probably be just as closed-minded as my oldest sisters, oldest brothers-in-law, and custodians and guardians and custodians-in-law and guardians-in-law," Kenneth claimed.
Topsy nodded.
"But, since I did mean everything I said, I'd be more than happy to accept that Jenna would want to marry you; I'm surprised you haven't asked her yet; what, are you afraid of rejection or something?" Kenneth teased him.
"Or something; I don't know; I wanted to ask; but, yes, I am afraid of being rejected," Topsy explained.
Kenneth sighed.
"I can see how much you mean to Jenna; she did say that she's in love with you and has told off my oldest sisters since they were trying to get her to break things off with you; including the friendship," Kenneth explained.
Topsy nodded.
However, thanks to what his oldest uncles shouted about, he was a bit afraid of being honest with himself.
"I can't believe they said those hurtful things to me, my own oldest uncles; if only they knew what it would be like to fall in love with a female of another species and maybe I might throw their words back in their face; but, then again, not giving in and insulting them would make me the bigger threehorn; and I like being thought of as the bigger threehorn," Topsy claimed.
Kenneth nodded and smiled at the young adult.
He sure hoped that Topsy and Jenna could end up getting married one day despite all the hurdles that are thrown in their way. Topsy was hoping for the same thing because of his love for Jenna; although, he had no place to stay since his oldest uncles kicked him out of the nest.
