Shadow Magic

Prologue

In the basement of a house was a black eyed old man and a blue eyed little girl. The old man's name is Zouken Matou and the girl's name is Sakura Matou. The girl's name was Sakura Tohsaka but not anymore for she was given to the Matou family for adoption because they needed someone to be their heir and no child born from the Matou family could use magic so they looked for child to adopt. The old allies of the Matous, the Tohsaka family give their old allies that which they requested. In a family of mages only one child can learn the family secrets there is no need for there to be two successors so Sakura being the second daughter born of the Tohsaka family was given to the Matou family while her older sister Rin Tohsaka would be raised to the next head of the Tohsaka family. Sakura's father Tokiomi Tohsaka believed that this was for the best for both his daughters.

However, what her father does not know is that the Matou training involves getting thrown in a pit of crest worms so their training is basically torture. Zouken enjoys the suffering of others so he could care less for Sakura's happiness because all he cared about was getting the Holy Grail becoming immortal. Sakura was on the floor screaming in fear begging not to be thrown into the worm pit. She couldn't do anything against Zouken but she heard a voice. It asked her how far she would go to be saved and answered she do anything to be saved. The voice said it would grant her wish.

"Well this is embarrassing being summoned by a child of all people." the mystery woman said after appearing from a magic cycle. The woman looked figuring what the situation was before turning

the girl and lifting her up.

"Well that answers that I suppose." she said before ask the a question. "What you is your name child?" she asked.

"Sakura" the girl answers.

"Well Sakura do you want to stay here?" the woman asked.

"No, I'll do anything please take me away from here." Sakura answered the woman smiled and picked up into her arms and blasted Zouken with magic out of thin air Sakura screamed.

"Hang on this mate get a little unconformable" the woman said before Teleporting away out side the house.

Sakura had fallen asleep because she had used most of her mana when she had accidentally summoned Caster. (That was the woman for those who where wandering) Caster was carrying Sakura in her arms while flying the sky wandering where to go that was safe. There were three places for her to chose to go to. One, was the church were the overseer would watch the Holy Grail war from not an option. Second, was a mansion also not an option. The third was a temple on the top of mountain that for some reason Caster felt a strange aura coming from it but decided to figure it out later after she and Sakura had settled in.

Making the monks think that she and Sakura were a abused mother and daughter was too easy. Caster then went on to the next thing she needed to focus on her mana supply Sakura barely had enough to summon her so sent familiars to go and take mana others to keep her herself from dematerializing. After she that tuck Sakura into bed and examined the command seals on her hand. "I see fear and terror make for a great catalyst and the grail took notice of this and give her command seals and me however given the fact that she is a child it a poor joke in taste." she thought to herself she put her hand on Sakura's cheek the girl murmured in her sleep and pushed her face into Caster's hand.

"Where are your parents child? Why were at that place? Why did I have to save you?"

It was morning the sun light throw the window, Sakura slowly waking up her mind was trying remember what happened then she remembered she being dragged to a pit by her grand father and being saved by a hooded woman. She than stat up from the bed she in and Caster materialized "Good morning" she said. Sakura then relaxed.

"Good morning." Sakura said while looking at Caster who had her hood down.. Caster was beautiful maybe even more beautiful than Sakura's mother Aoi Tohosaka. Caster had blue hair and elf like ears. Sakura even though she was a child she did grow up in the household of a mage so could tell what was normal and what was not and Caster was certainly not a normal person but Caster did save Sakura so she must be good person.

"Now then child your is Sakura, is it not?" Caster asked.

"Yes." Sakura answered.

"It's a nice name it suits a little girl." Caster said.

"Thank you, what's going to happen now?" Sakura asked.

"Well that depends on you. Personally, I would like us to stay together since that would better for the both us in the long run. But if want to go home to your parents…" Caster said.

Sakura began to cry at mention of her parents. "Papa, mama they didn't want me." She said.

"Are you saying that your parents send you to that place?" Caster asked. Sakura nodded and Caster pulled her into a comforting hug while wander to herself why would Sakura's parents send to that place.

"Please let me stay I don't know you, but you took me from that place. You'll keep me safe, won't you?" Sakura asked.

"I will. I'll keep you safe and together we will win this war we'll get all we and more." Caster said. While she was still hugging Sakura her mind was not only thinking of how to win but also how she going to teach Sakura's parents a lessen in responsibility. It would a lessen they won't forget.
