Near is visited by Ryuk, who gives the death note eraser. He brings back a couple of people. But a couple of people can bring lots of chaos. After Light regains his Death Note along with his memories, he finds himself in an unforeseen complication; a fondness towards a friend. Mainly based on the 2006 movies and animated series, this story alters the story of the Death Note as we know it by slightly altering Light's decision to kill Lind L. Tailor and by remaining truer to his initial reasons and purpose, instead of losing himself in a childish battle against L. Consequently, things go quite differently for them both, even if some events remain the same.

Rated T for possible themes. Misa doesn't like to share this knowledge but she is an investigator. She likes to help out with cases in her spare time. She has always wished that it was possible for her to be able to meet the great L. However as she finds herself going into the Kira case she finds the chance to do so. Will it be how she dreamed of? And will she be able to help him?
