Part 1
All seemed well for Felix Kjellberg, or, as he went online, Pewdiepie. He had been working all day trying to make a new video for his fans. He had just finished his final clip and was sending it to Brad or Sive, his editors. He sent the email and stretched out of his chair, turned off his PC, and left the recording room to meet his wife Marzia outside. She saw him and greeted him with a hug.
"Well, you finished early," Marzia commented in Swedish.
"Yeah, I thought it would take a little longer than that," Felix replied in Swedish again.
"Nonetheless, the early summer sunset looks beautiful," she said, looking out the window into the crowded sky, filled with pink and white clouds. Felix, though, was a little busy thinking about his next video. But he didn't want Marzia to know since it was going to be their night together. But things changed with a sudden shock.
"Oh darn it, I forgot to buy some things back at the store," she said.
Felix, surprised by the unexpected turn, responded, "What? What did you forget?"
"Oh, just some ingredients," she replied, "I'll go, you stay and wait."
Felix nodded in agreement. Sitting in front of his TV, he waved to Marzia as she grabbed her things and left the house. Felix, now having to wait, decides to turn on the TV and see what is on. He scrolls through the channels passing the kids shows and history shows and then to the news channels. He planned on just skipping over it and going to the reality TV show section when a news story caught his eye.
He passed over a worldwide news network, BBC, to be exact, and the headline caught his eye. After passing over two or three channels, he went back to that BBC report of an accident somewhere in Asia. The caption read: 'Three Teens Disappear After Strange Occurrence.' He thought this seemed appealing to him, so he tuned in and listened.
"Today, at 10:37 am, a mystery arose in this city: three teenagers suddenly went missing without warning. No signs point to where they went or who would've taken them. As the sun rose on a boring summer, families claimed to hear loud noises they say resembled plane engines. When they went to investigate, they found their rooms empty with no sign of their family." Felix felt a sense of remorse roll over him as he kept watching the report. He might have thought for too long, though, as when he looked back, he missed the names. He didn't mind and just kept watching.
"The trio of sons, according to all the families, were good friends with each other, which gave the government of…" The screen froze up again, and it stayed on an image of what seemed to be a laptop in a bedroom where one of the teens slept, or at least that is what Felix interpreted it as. Then, the thing returned to normal, most likely a cut in the wifi.
"The sons were said to have been acting normal before their disappearances occurred, meaning that they were not planning to do anything in secret. The last thing parents heard was a loud screeching noise they said resembled nails on a chalkboard. But when they went to investigate, they found that their sons had disappeared. With all of this, speculation about the kids has traveled throughout the island, now left with one question: where did they go?"
As if on queue, the TV began to glitch out and a loud noise that resembled a whale call except distorted and strangely familiar. Plugging his ears, he strained to keep the noise out, except all of a sudden it stopped and the usual news cut back onto the screen, filtering out the name and returning to the general press, "I'm sorry, but I think that we have returned to normal for now." Felix was unsettled by this but decided to stay calm and call Marzia as a news article about something else that had occurred. He didn't see what it said as he picked up his phone and called Marzia. It rang three times before she picked up.
"Hey, Marzia," Felix said,
"Hey, Felix. Is everything alright?" she asked.
He paused first to see the screen beginning to glitch again and then began talking, "I think we may need to call the repair guy since the TV is not working well."
Marzia sounded surprised by it, "What? We've had that for only a couple of weeks now."
"Right, but what about…" Felix couldn't finish his sentence as the sound began again, but this time, it sounded more like words calling to someone. They were also deafening. Faint but recognizable. Marzia screamed into the phone:
"Felix, what is going on?!"
Felix couldn't reply as the TV screen turned into a makeshift flashbang and left him blind with his ears ringing. He tripped and fell to the floor, dropping his phone in the process. He tried to stand up and regain his senses. When his vision returned, he was yet again blinded by hundreds of colors and such flashing before him. It was almost like he was looking at a whole new world. Marzia's voice suddenly flashed into his memory. He turned his head and tried reaching for his phone, but only his neck and eyes could move for some moments. His mind raced with thoughts. What is happening? Why is it happening to me? The only thing he could do is listen to Marzia yelling into her phone, but to Felix, it was all just a blur as his thoughts became more and more clouded to the point of him wanting to fall asleep. He blacked out as he fell to his knees, but he didn't fall onto his living room floor. He fell as no ground caught him. He felt himself spin uncontrollably as his body couldn't control himself as he slipped and fell and fell. The only evidence left of him was his call with Marzia.
He felt like he was in zero gravity as he fell. No weight, no struggle, just a sensation of what seemed to be floating. Then, a sudden strike of air caused him to stop and then fall butt first onto the ground. With that sensation, he opened his eyes, and he fell into pure shock because he didn't see his TV or his home. Instead, he seemed to be in a shipping yard with shipping containers of all colors. He looked downwards at his hands and had a small inhale of air as he saw his hands looked different. It was like they were animated, less detailed than before, as well as being wrapped in some sort of bandage. They were somewhat dirty, bits of dirt and blood stretched upon them.
As his vision cleared, he groaned as he turned his body enough to stand up. He placed his hands on the floor and pushed up onto his knees, but then thought about hit him. He felt it: something fast was approaching him. He looked up just in time to see the blur as he rolled onto his side. A black boot hit the ground where his head was, and he looked up to his attacker. They turned their head towards him as he stood up and backed away. The attacker kept walking towards him.
They were wearing some type of helmet with glowing eyes, like an animatronic head from a pizza place. It was covered in a black vest with small white text on parts of his outfit. His face was so hidden that he didn't look human. He kicked again and, without him thinking of anything, he raised his arms and caught his leg. His eyes flashed for a second and revealed parts about the pants the guy wore. They were simple pants while he wore shin-guards underneath. Heads Up Display, he thought for a mere second. He returned his attention to the figure for a second, then spun around and threw him into a large open area. He slid across the ground and jumped up onto his feet. He stood ready to fight, and, as the two approached, a gunshot emulated through the facility, and a bullet flew past in between the two. They stopped and turned their attention to the other figure looming above them.
"That's enough," its voice shouted. It jumped down, revealing itself to be a man with sunglasses and wearing a suit. He also wore what seemed to be military-grade boots and a vest that seemed to weigh him down. As he hit the ground, more people began to walk into the lit area. The man held his ground.
"No one move," he commanded, "Let's talk before we start throwing punches."
Everyone's attire had changed. He knew since not everyone wasn't looking comfortable in their fashionable clothes. Felix went from a short-sleeved shirt and jeans to what seemed to be a hoodie and workout pants. He wore the hoodie over a police vest and a longer dry-fit shirt. His shoes were running workout shoes, which looked like Vans, but he couldn't tell. What also reached Felix's mind was that he and some others were wearing masks. Some cover their face fully while others wear it up to their nose. Most likely, being having a HUD with it. Their skin and other parts also caught some attention. They seemed less realistic and more animated, just like him. Their skin was more smooth, their hair color more defined, and other small details that made it seem that they were somewhere different. He began to build a sentence in his head, but another voice cut him off.
"Well, I was expecting you all to murder each other," a strange voice smirked. Everyone turned their attention to the being. Its shadowy outline portrayed it as hulking and dangerous.
"Who are you?" asked another guy. Felix's HUD displayed who he was. He was more prominently known as Ssundee. His real name is Ian. The mysterious figure gave a soft yet deep pitched giggle in response, as if finding the question to be a joke. The hairs on the back of his neck stood up straight.
"Oh, you'll know soon enough," it replied. Its voice sounded robotic the more it spoke, human yes, but more robotic. It jumped down, revealing itself, and it indeed was a robot, but much different than a cliche metallic box robot. It resembled a creature from a fantasy game like D&D. Its body was carved like it was made from large crystals and held together by some sort of immense welding process. It has a mouth filled with thick glass dragon-like teeth at an unknown sharpness. His confident and overpowering presence scared most of them.
Ian tried to piece together a sentence to say, but before he could say a word, his face was met with its fist. He felt his feet leave the floor and fell back with a thud as he hit the ground. The silence was of shock and fear, knowing that they were probably next. He turned to everyone.
"Well, one down, a couple more to…" it didn't finish his sentence as a bullet zipped through its left shoulder. The hole leaked of black ooze, a mixture of oil and blood. Its reaction was a mixture of surprise and mild annoyance. It turned to see the shooter. The man wore an owl mask, a strapped suit, and militaristic style clothing. Vanoss. The same guy Felix fought. He had his gun raised and pointed at the thing. His gun smoked and reeked of gunpowder. He looked at him with a stare of slight confidence and slight fear. The thing commented,
"Nice shot," he paused, "But this won't be the last time we meet," he turned and looked at everyone with a smile, "All of you will die." It then lifted his wrist to a mechanism implanted in its wrist. It pressed some buttons on it. Then, a white light engulfed it, and then it was gone.
"Where'd it go? How did it do that?" someone asked. The flash and scan happened again, showing his name. His name was Joe, though he was known more as Stampy. Everyone seemed confused about what was happening. Then, Felix spoke his accent, a dead giveaway to who he was.
"Alright, let's talk. But let's do that on the way to wherever we have to go to get out of here."
