Hi everyone, thank you all for waiting. Here we are, the third story of my Frozen Turtles series. I've been waiting to write this for a while, and I thank every one of you for being so patient with me. This story is going to mix the plots of the second Frozen movie, along with the City of War arc (the second half of Season 4) from TMNT 2012, and I've got my own original surprises in store as well.

Before we begin, let me just say that there will not be any songs in this story. Sorry, but I'm not all that good at writing songs, and the Turtles aren't the kind of people to actually sing Disney style.

And with all that being said, let us begin the first chapter of "Frozen Turtles: Into the Unknown"

Disclaimer: I do not own Frozen or TMNT, all distributing rights belong to Disney and Nickelodeon respectively.

The Queen vs. the Witch

Queen Elsa kneeled on the ground of the highest balcony of her castle, the bright and warm sun beaming down on her and the rest of her kingdom as she took a deep breath before exhaling, already in a deep meditative trance. For a long while, her kingdom has known peace; she had established diplomatic relations with all her neighboring countries, and her people were nothing short of happy, same for her family, as well as herself.

However, Elsa's eyes slowly opened as a playful smile formed on her face. "Sorry Leo, you gotta do better than that." She said in a teasing tone to seemingly nobody.

The eldest Ninja Turtle, Leonardo, leapt down from the roof on the balcony to join her. "What good is being a ninja, if I can't sneak up on someone?" Leo asked in a similarly playful tone as Elsa stood up.

"The fact that I know you so well." Elsa replied before giving him a quick kiss on the lips. "I'm glad you're here. Where's everyone else?"

"Raph and Casey are in town with Kristoff and Sven; Donnie, Mikey, and April went with Anna and Olaf for a picnic." Leo replied.

"What about Master Splinter, and the rest of the Mutanimals?" Elsa asked.

"They're wrapping things up with the Utrom, helping them find the last of the mutants on our Earth to turn back to normal." Leo answered. "But they'll be here in time for the Autumn feast tomorrow."

"And Karai?" Elsa asked.

Leo looked a bit unsure before replying. "She said she had something to take care of but should be here for the feast to."

"Good." Elsa nodded. "It's nice to have everyone together." She and Leo walked toward the railing of the balcony as they saw the entire kingdom. "I know that it won't stay like this, but I'm so happy right now."

"I hear ya, Elsa." Leo agreed. "It's been more than a year since that whole mess with the Black Hole generator. All the bad and wild mutants the Kraang have made, or we made by accident, are finally gonna end up turning back to normal. No more Triceratons, no more Kraang, and best part, no more Shredder and his goons."

Elsa's smile faded slightly. "That's all good to hear, really it is. It's just… I'd feel a little more comfortable to know for sure whether or not he's actually gone."

Leo also looked with concern. "Yeah, but Karai and Splinter did a huge number on him. The kind of injuries that don't really heal. Still, you're right. I'd like to know for sure, too."

However, Elsa's smile returned. "Regardless, I'm certain that even if he is still out there, or we have to face a new kind of villain, whatever it is, we can handle it."

The blue-clad Turtle looked toward her with a smile. "Look at you, acting all confident."

"Well, I had a good source of inspiration." Elsa smiled back as she placed her hand on top of his. They looked into each other's eyes for a moment as their lips came closer. Until…

"Ahem." The couple turned toward the door that led into the castle as Kai walked forward. "Forgive the intrusion, your majesty. Sir Leonardo, a pleasure to see you again."

"You too, Kai." Leo replied with a nod.

"Your highness, everyone is waiting." Kai gestured inside.

"I will be right there." Elsa said before turning to her Turtle lover. "Sorry Leo, got royal business and all that."

"It's cool." Leo assured. "We're still up for tonight with everyone else, right?"

"Wouldn't miss it." Elsa replied as she turned around to walk back inside. However, she came to a stop as she heard something unusual. It sounded like someone signing, a female voice that sang an unusual tone through the air, but she couldn't identify the source.

"Do… Do either of you hear that?"

However, it would seem that neither Leo nor Kai could hear the unusual sound. "Hear what?" Leo asked as he and Kai looked somewhat confused.

It was odd, but since she didn't hear it again, Elsa simply dismissed it as nothing. "Nevermind." She walked back into the castle as Leo and Kai exchanged glances, but they both shrugged and dismissed it as well before Kai went back inside to join her.

Leonardo then leapt from the balcony and onto the rooftop before climbing toward the highest point of the castle to get an unobstructed view of Arendelle. He took a deep breath before exhaling with a smile.

"God, I love this place."

Meanwhile, Princess Anna led the trio consisting of Donatello, Michelangelo, and April O'Neil down a forested trail just outside of Arendelle, the autumn leaves starting to slowly fall on the ground.

"Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall, I swear Arendelle is beautiful all year round." April commented.

"I hear ya, Sis." Mikey agreed. "It's like someone out there wants us to live happily ever after."

Donnie rolled his eyes at his brother's enthusiasm with a smile. "How much farther, Anna?"

"We're already here." Anna said, as she gestured to a pumpkin patch with a blanket laid out for them with Olaf lying flat on his back, bathing in the sunlight.

April took notice of the wooden fence, however. "Are you sure it's okay for us to be here? It's private property and I don't wanna trespass."

"It's fine." Anna assured. "I already talked with the owner and he said it was good. Hey Olaf!" She called to the snowman as she, her fellow redhead, and the two mutant Turtles sat down on the blanket.

"Hi Anna, Hi Donnie, Hi Mikey, Hi April." Olaf greeted. "Ah, there's nothing better than a picnic on a nice autumn day."

"I can think of something better." Mikey put in. "A picnic on a nice autumn day, with pizza!" He presented two large boxes of steaming hot pizza, which he opened up and the group didn't hesitate to start digging in.

"So, April, how's it feel to be full-fledged kunoichi, now?" Anna asked.

"Oh, it is amazing." April replied. "I can finally keep up with everyone now and actually fight. Beats getting kidnapped every other week."

"Come on April, you weren't kidnapped that often." Donnie pointed out. "And you did help us a lot even before you started training."

"I know, I know." April assured. "But it's still nice."

"That new sword you got is really cool too." Anna pointed toward April's sheathed weapon, which she took out to show Anna.

"It's a Tanto, kinda like a knife for close-quarters combat." April explained. "Supposed to represent the dragon, according to Master Splinter."

"Did you know that in the world's western countries, the dragon is usually considered a symbol for evil and greed, a monster or a demon for a knight and hero to slay?" Olaf asked. "While in the east, they are considered sacred and divine creatures that represent wisdom, strength, and even redemption?"

The group looked to Olaf with surprised expressions. "Okay… since when are you to talk all philosophic and stuff?" Mikey asked with his mouth full.

"It's called 'philosophy', Mikey." Donnie reminded.

"Forgive me, maturity is making me poetic. And the fact that I actually know how to read now, makes me want to read so many other things." Olaf explained. "It wasn't until we got back to Arendelle from our adventure in space with Professor Honeycutt that had me thinking; we know a lot about other worlds from that adventure, but I know so very little of the one I call home. Did you know that other countries have such different cultures that symbols of myth and philosophy might carry opposite meanings, such as the dragons I just mentioned?"

Anna, Mikey, April, and Donnie each exchanged surprised glances. "I can't tell if he's actually being serious… or trying to be goofy." Donnie pointed out.

"Well, I think it's great that you want to learn more about the world, Olaf." Anna said.

"Totally." Mikey agreed. "Think about all the different types of pizza the rest of the world has."

"Are you talking about our world, or this one?" April asked.

"Both." Mikey replied as he ate another pizza.

"I'm not really too worried about all that." Anna said as she leaned back on the blanket. "Right now, I'm just enjoying a nice and relaxing lunch with my friends."

At the same time, in Arendelle's Castletown, Kristoff walked alongside Raphael and Casey Jones, along with his mutated reindeer companion, Sven.

"So, you guys wanna ask Elsa to freeze up the ocean and get a little hockey going on?" Casey asked.

"Elsa's busy doing her Queen-stuff, Casey." Raph told him. "So, unless you wanna play in the ocean…"

"Actually, I got a favor to ask you guys." Kristoff told them.

"What's up man?" Casey asked as he and Raph gave him their undivided attention while Sven had a knowing smirk on his face as he munched down on a carrot.

"I need advice." Kristoff said.

"Advice for what?" Raph asked. "New workout routine?"

"No." Kristoff shook his head.

"Trying to make up a sport that doesn't depend on ice magic?" Casey questioned, in which Raph rolled his eyes.

"No." Kristoff stated a bit more firmly.

"Punching bad guys? What? Just say it, man." Raph told him, getting a bit more irritated.

"He wants advice on how to propose because he wants to propose to Anna." Sven told them.

"Sven!" Kristoff exclaimed in embarrassment.

"Dude?! You're getting married?!" Casey exclaimed as he threw his arm over Kristoff's shoulder. "Freaking awesome, man!"

"He's not married yet, Jones." Raph said to him. "He's planning to ask Anna that. But still, congrats pal." Raph gave him a congratulatory pat on the back with a smirk.

"Yeah, congrats to me." Kristoff said in a tone indicating he wasn't so thrilled. "But let's save that till after I propose." He sat down on a bench with Sven, Raph, and Casey sitting down next to him. "Really bad at this kinda stuff, so… advice? Something helpful, please?"

"Why do you need to ask us? Don't you have a family of rock trolls that practically sing love stuff every day?" Raph asked.

"We do, but they're not exactly helpful with the human-social stuff, ya know?" Sven put in as he bit down on a carrot.

"How hard can it be?" Casey shrugged. "Just say 'Hey Anna, will you marry me?'"

"No, no, it can't be that simple!" Kristoff said. "This is a big deal, a huge step in our relationship! I… I want it to be special…" He gave an annoyed sigh. "Why does it feel like fighting bad guys, aliens, and giant monsters is so much easier than asking the love of your life to marry you? Shouldn't it be the other way around?"

"That's because it's easier to punch something." Raph answered. "But seriously Kristoff, I don't think we can help you with this." Before Kristoff could even reply, Raph quickly said something else. "Instead, talk to Splinter. He was married, so he's probably got a lot better advice at that than we do."

"That's… actually not a bad idea." Kristoff thought for a moment before it dawned him. "It's brilliant! Yeah, why didn't I think about that before?"

"Because you're an idiot." Sven joked, but Kristoff ignored him.

"Thanks a whole bunch, guys." Kristoff told the pair.

"Even though we didn't really say anything." Casey said.

It was much later in the evening when Elsa was finished with all her royal duties for the day. The sun had almost begun to set as she walked back up to her balcony. Her attire had also completely changed; no longer was she wearing any kind of formal dresses or anything of the nature. Now she was clad in an all-white leotard that covered her whole body below her neck, even her hair was let loose. Now that she was all done with her responsibilities as Queen, she was free to do what she loved most.

Elsa looked toward the Castletown where she already spotted Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo, and even April, standing on a rooftop, all set and ready as well. Even from this distance, Elsa could see Leo looking toward her with a smile and a nod.

Taking a deep breath, Elsa generated her ice-wings, which shined brightly as the setting sun began to reflect off gloriously. She leapt over her balcony and let her wings take her straight toward the town, passing over her friends as they quickly ran and jumped across the rooftops just below her, with Elsa lowering her descent to fly closer towards them.

"There they go!" Anna stated as she, Kristoff, Sven, Olaf, and Casey watched Elsa, April, and the Turtles begin their trek across the rooftops. "Come on! Let's see if we can beat them to the forest!" She began to pull on Kristoff's arm urgently."

"Outrun ninjas and a magic lady with wings? Yeah, I think I'll pass." Kristoff said in acceptance.

"What's the matter grandma? Afraid of a little workout?" Casey challenged as he pulled down his hockey mask and readied his roller skates.

Kristoff smirked daringly at his friend. "Oh, you're on! Come on Sven!"

"All aboard!" Sven got down on his hands and legs, allowing his life-long friend, along with Anna and Olaf to climb up.

"Onward!" Olaf exclaimed as Casey had already began skating, with the mutant reindeer running right behind him, and quickly passing Casey to catch up with their friends.

At the same time, Elsa, April, and the Turtles had already made it to the forest as April pulled out her grappling hook first to snag onto the branch of the nearest tree, followed by Donnie, Raph, then Leo and Mikey, all except Elsa who didn't need any as she continued to fly. As she flew, she couldn't help but cheer as she truly felt free in this moment. No responsibilities, no villains to fight, nothing else to worry about. Just herself and the people she called her family with the wind blowing against her face and hair, almost as if the entire world around them just vanished.

"Yo Elsa!" She heard Mikey called as he leapt from tree-branch to tree-branch below her. "Time for a mid-air high-five-three!" Elsa laughed as she flew down to obliged him with Mikey leaping straight up from the branch to reach her palm with his and high-five.

Elsa then shot herself straight towards the tallest tree to land at the very top, right as the sun had finally set and the night sky began to take in. She was quickly joined by the rest of the Turtles as well as April, with Leo leaping up next to her.

"Having fun?" Leo asked.

"You have no idea…" Elsa said in-between breaths and a wide smile.

However, a serious expression formed on April's face as she felt an unfamiliar presence close by. "You okay, April? What's wrong?" Donnie asked

"Someone… or something is close…" April replied, getting everyone's attention as even Elsa became serious. "Straight below."

All six of them then leapt toward the ground to see something that made them all look more than a little surprised: a black cat.

"Meow."

"A cat…?" Raph questioned as Mikey was already gushing.

"Aw! Look at you!"

"What's a cat doing out here?" Leo questioned.

"Perhaps someone's pet that got lost." Elsa assumed.

They looked to see the cat turn around to walk behind a tree, when the cat suddenly vanished, and a subtle plume of smoke began to fill the general area.

"Okay, this is weird." Donnie noted as everyone became serious. The group then heard a cackle, a human's laugh, almost like a witch as they saw a dark figure moving around the trees.

"Um… hello…?" Mikey tried to call out. They looked toward the figure as it came to a stop on a tall rock to stand above the group before it extended its arms to show off a bat-like cape with multiple bats flying around it.

"Whoa…" Leo looked more than a little shocked as Elsa's eyes narrowed, expecting trouble.

"Let's play a game." The figure spoke, revealed to be female, as she walked up, the moon light shining down to reveal a witch's hat that obscured her face with a black robe covering her body. "What do you say, little Ice Queen?" She spoke to Elsa specifically.

Raph, however, was the first to address her. "Alright, sister. Playtime's over." He tried to grab her, only for this person to slide past him and throw down a flash bomb before kicking him in the side to send him rolling toward the side.

"My name is Shinigami." She introduced as the other Turtles, April, and Elsa began to circle her, reading their respective weapons, or magic in Elsa's case. "Do you know what my name means?" She kicked Donnie back first, before swiping her feet to knock Elsa, April, and Donnie down. Mikey tried to swing his nunchucks at her, but Shinigami grabbed him from behind before throwing him into the recovering Leonardo.

However, a series of ice-spikes shot up from the ground around her, twisting and bending in the form of a small cage that kept her imprisoned as Elsa managed to get a good look at this Shinigami-person. She wore a black body suit that covered her legs, torso, and above the elbows; along with above-the-elbow gloves and armbands, with a gold moon-shaped symbol in the middle of her chest. Her skin seemed pale with long black hair and golden-brown eyes, and dark make-up over her eyes and lips.

"Hmm, so you can use magic." Shinigami observed her ice-cage with interest. "Not bad, your highness."

"Who are you?" Elsa demanded.

"I told you, my name is Shinigami." She replied playfully. "And you're not the only one with a few magic tricks." She threw down a smoke-bomb, right before she vanished from her icy-prison, much to Elsa's surprise before she reappeared and kicked Elsa in the back, but this left Shinigami vulnerable for Leo to come in and elbow her in the side to knock her down.

"Ugh, I can't believe you'd hit a lady." She stated to Leo.

Everyone else began to regroup, but once Mikey set his eyes on her face, he gave a gasp as hearts formed in his eyes along with a dazed smile.

"Elsa! Guys! Wait up!" They all heard Anna's voice as they looked past Shinigami, who also turned around, to see Anna herself, along with Kristoff, Sven, Olaf, and Casey trying to catch up with them.

"Oooh, more playmates." Shinigami sang before vanishing with another smoke bomb.

"Guys! Look out!" April called to them just as Shinigami suddenly appeared in the middle of the newly arrived group.

"What the…?!" Kristoff questioned at her sudden appearance before Shinigami grabbed him by the arm and flipped him over her shoulder and into a tree.

"Kristoff!" Anna quickly attended to him as Casey and Sven went on the attack.

"Goongala!" Casey exclaimed as he swung his hockey-stick at Shinigami, but she avoided it with grace and little effort, but this seemed to drive her toward Sven who attempted to grab her with a bear-hug. But as he did, Shinigami vanished, much to his surprise, and reappeared behind him as she sent out a chain from a kusarigama to tangle Sven's feet and send him toppling on to Casey.

Shinigami then noticed Olaf, who looked a little nervous at her. "Oooh, so you are a living snowman. That's cute."

"Awe, thank you." Olaf said with a smile, only for Shinigami to swipe his carrot-nose as he gasped.

"Got your nose." She sang before causally tossing it behind her back.

"My nose!" Olaf ran to catch it.

"That's enough!" Shinigami heard Elsa's voice call out as she sent out a series of ice-bolts which she backflipped to avoid, this seemed to lead her into a trap as Donnie, April, Leo, Raph, and even the awe-struck Mikey tried to jump at her from all sides. But she disappeared right before she landed in another puff of smoke, much to their confusion.

"Enough with the disappearing act already!" Raph exclaimed.

The group heard a familiar startled cry as they turned to see Anna in Shinigami's grip. "Anna!" Elsa exclaimed, but Leo kept her from advancing so that the apparent hostage wouldn't be hurt.

"Let me go!" Anna struggled in her grip.

"In a second." Shinigami said before looking toward Elsa. "There's too many people here. How about we figure out another time for a one-on-one game? See you then, your majesty." She pushed Anna down before vanishing into the forest.

Elsa and Kristoff were the first to run to Anna as everyone else regrouped, along with Olaf who had recovered his carrot nose. "Anna, are you okay?" Kristoff asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." She assured. "Who the heck was that?"

The group had returned to Arendelle and met up in Elsa's room to talk about what had just happened. "So, this Shinigami-lady just showed up out of nowhere and tried to fight you guys?" Sven asked, hopping he got the basic summation.

"She was definitely something else." April noted. "Caught us off guard a few times."

"It felt like she was toying with us." Donnie said.

"Stupid lady took us to school on a freaking Sunday!" Casey exclaimed.

"She stole my noose!" Olaf also exclaimed.

"So what? You got it back." Raph told him in annoyance.

"The way she spoke though… I think that maybe I was her target." Elsa assumed.

"An assassin?" Donnie questioned.

"I hope not." Anna shivered. "But… didn't she have some kind of magic too?"

"She turned into a cat." Leo pointed out bluntly. "If that doesn't count as magic, I don't know what does."

"It's not like any kind of magic I've seen." Kristoff said.

"Kristoff, aside from Elsa and the trolls, have you seen any kind of magic?" Sven asked. "I know I sure haven't."

"No… not really…" Kristoff replied.

"She was pretty awesome." Mikey said, a dazed smile still evident on his face, only to get smacked upside the head by both Raph and Sven.

"She called herself 'Shinigami', what does that even mean?" Elsa asked.

"The Shinigami are powerful gods in Japanese myth that bring death and destruction." Donnie answered.

"So, a Japanese grim reaper?" Anna asked. "Well, that's not dark or anything."

"She was one scary lady." Olaf began. "But, perhaps underneath the exterior lies a wounded soul?"

"Not the time to get philosophical on us, Olaf." Leo said.

"No, I'm serious." Olaf said. "I mean, we don't know anything about her, so she might not be really bad. I mean, look at Elsa. A couple years ago, everyone thought she was bad because of her magic, but once they all got to know her, they all knew she was good. Same to you guys." He gestured to the Turtles. "People used to think you were monsters just by looking at you… maybe we should get to know her before we automatically think she's an enemy."

The group looked rather surprised at Olaf, it was incredibly rare that he would speak with such rationality, and yet he just did.

"That… actually makes perfect sense." Raph muttered. "It's like we just stepped into some alternate universe or something."

"No, Olaf's right." Mikey agreed. "Let's get to know this super cool chick. Maybe she might be a new addition to the team."

"What is this? Love at first sight?" Sven questioned.

"Well, she was kinda hot." Casey commented, only to be flicked in the head by April. "Ow!"

"Maybe Olaf has a point." Elsa began, getting everyone's attention. "The way she was talking, and how she was fighting… I feel that like maybe if she actually wanted to hurt us, she would have left some damage, but she didn't. In fact, she almost sounded playful."

"Like she was playing a game?" Leo asked.

"Yeah, and I was her playmate." Elsa replied. "She spoke to me specifically."

"Not the kind of game I'd be interested in playing." Kristoff pointed out. "What happened to charades or twenty questions?"

"One thing still doesn't add up." April said. "None of us had seen this girl before, but she knew about you, Elsa. How? How could she have known you?"

"Let's ask her when we see her again, the old-fashioned way." Raph said as he cracked his knuckles.

"You think she's gonna show up again?" Anna asked.

"Someone like her? No doubt." Donnie replied.

"Probably when I'm alone without anyone else to get in her way." Elsa said before standing up and walking toward the door.

"Whoa, Elsa where are you going?" Leo asked.

"To give her what she wants." Elsa replied, much to the group's surprise. "Don't worry about me, I'll be just fine." She turned around with a smile and a wink before walking out of the room.

"Huh…" Kristoff observed. "You know, I remember when she was too scared to even come out of her room. Now she's walking directly into a fight with a smile?"

"She's certainly gone through a change." Sven added.

"Well, we have endured many life-changing experiences." Olaf put in. "Perhaps she has reached some form of maturity as well."

"Keep talking like you're the expert, Olaf." Raph commented with a slight annoyance. "You're still only a couple years old."

"You think she'll be okay?" Anna asked. "I know she's got magic powers and is a lot more confident now, but still…"

"She'll be fine." Leo had complete faith in her. "She's not the same scared girl anymore. She's a warrior all her own."

Elsa walked into the empty ballroom of her castle, seemingly alone. As she walked in silence, she couldn't help but recall some awful memories in this room. This is where her magic was revealed to her kingdom, and she fled in fear after accidentally sending it into an eternal winter. However, rather than be repulsed or shivered at these memories, she accepted them. She has grown much stronger since then, having gone through all kinds of experiences with her friends and families. She had come to terms with her past and she would no longer let that define her.

However, her memories were interrupted as she felt a familiar presence. "Well?!" She called out, knowing she wasn't alone. "Why don't you come out?! I'm here! All alone! My friends aren't planning an ambush! Just you and me! Come and get me!"

As if on cue, puff of smoke emerged from the floor near the entranceway of the ballroom as Elsa directed her gaze to the young woman who emerged from it with a playful chuckle.

"Well, this is a surprise." Shinigami spoke. "Here I was trying to find a way to get to you, and you come to me."

"Sorry, but I'm not the type to sit and wait." Elsa stated as she readied some of her magic. "Let's see if you can actually give me a challenge."

"Oooh, I like that." Shinigami looked more excited before she rushed directly for Elsa, who rushed her in return, but before they could collide…

"STOP!" Someone shouted as she dropped down from the ceiling to land in-between them, holding out her hands to both Elsa and Shinigami. "I didn't bring you here just so you could kill her, Shini!"

"Oh, come on, I wasn't going to kill her." Shinigami said in a pouting fashion. "Just toy with her a little bit."

Elsa however looked in total shock, not just at the sudden appearance of this individual, but the fact that it was someone she knew well.

"Karai?!"

The kunoichi formerly affiliated with the Foot, now that of the Hamato, looked toward her royal friend with a guilty and embarrassed expression. "Hi Elsa."

"I… you… what… you… you know her?!" Elsa exclaimed before an annoyed look formed on her face. "There had better be a good explanation for this!"

"There is." Karai assured. "Look, I'm sorry you two had to meet like this. But when I told Shini about you, she just went off without even so much as a warning." She gave a slight glare towards Shinigami who only shrugged.

"The best way to judge an opponent is to trick them into thinking that you're an enemy." Shinigami said.

"I can think of at least ten different ways we could have introduced each other." Elsa said annoyingly. "All of which are far more civil."

Karai gave a sigh as she explained everything. "Shinigami is an old friend from Japan, known her since I was little actually. Her parents had connections to the Shredder when he was stationed there, we practically grew up together."

"How come everyone else and I are only knowing about her, now?" Elsa asked.

"Because she wasn't officially brought into the Foot and didn't come to New York with us back then." Karai answered. "After we got back from our little space adventure, I went to Japan for some important business. I found Shini and brought her up on a few things, she was very interested in you."

"Really? Why?" Elsa asked.

"You have to ask?" Shinigami asked. "I've seen some pretty crazy things, but your magic is out of this world! Who else can freeze an entire kingdom, and then an entire planet, without breaking a sweat!?"

"Freezing Dregg's homeworld took a lot more out of me then what happened with Arendelle." Elsa commented.

"The point is, I've never seen anyone like you." Shinigami said. "And when Karai told me that you actually knew how to fight, I just couldn't resist."

"I also told you that she could kill you, even by accident." Karai chastised her friend.

"Yeah, yeah, the whole Frozen Heart thing." Shinigami brushed off.

"Don't joke about that!" Elsa exclaimed. "My sister almost died because of me from that!"

Shinigami's look softened. "I'm sorry… I didn't mean to sound insensitive."

Elsa sighed before looking toward Karai. "She's a friend of yours."

"Yes." Karai confirmed.

"And you trust her?"

"With my life."

"Okay." Elsa accepted. "That's all I need to hear."

"Really? Just like that?" Shinigami looked in surprise.

"Karai is a good friend of mine, practically family." Elsa said. "If she trusts you, that's enough for me." Shinigami was more than a little surprised but accepted it none the less before Elsa turned to her friend again. "Karai, next time you talk about me to a potentially dangerous friend, please let me know so we can avoid another misunderstanding."

"Will do." Karai assured. "Where's everyone else?"

"Up in my room, waiting for the so-called showdown to come an end." Elsa answered. "Speaking of which… Shinigami, was it? I believe we have a score to settle?"

That caught both Shinigami and especially Karai off guard. "Seriously?" Shinigami questioned.

"It's what you came here for, right? To test me?" Elsa asked with a cocky grin. "The whole reason I came down here was to find who you are and if you had an ulterior motive. Now that I have my answer, I think I can oblige you."

Shinigami grinned. "Fine by me."

"Whoa… Elsa…" Karai looked toward her in shock. "I never pegged you as the type."

"What do you expect when my boyfriend and best friends are teenage ninjas?" Elsa asked.

"Point taken." Karai accepted. "I'll head to your room and let everyone know what's going on, just so that we're all cleared up." She proceeded to leave. "Try not to kill each other while I'm gone." She said before leaving the ballroom.

Shinigami and Elsa both smirked toward each other as they began to circle one another, neither saying a word as they each silently dared the other to make the first move. After almost a minute, the two came to a stop and stared each other down before Shinigami drew a pair of short crescent-moon shaped blades as Elsa readied her magic.

Elsa was the first to attack, sending bolts of her ice magic against her sparring partner, who flipped and jumped to avoid each attack as the froze the spot she was previously at before throwing out her blades, which carried chains at the end toward Elsa, who erected an ice-barrier to block it, but Shinigami had jumped while pulling her weapon back before landing on top of the ice and leaping down with a kick towards Elsa, who leapt back before swinging her arm up to send a flurry if ice-spikes from the ground toward her, which Shinigami avoided by rolling across the ground. However, when it looked like another of Elsa's ice-bolts was about to hit her, Shinigami smirked before her body vanished into smoke and the attack went right through it.

Elsa gazed around the ballroom as she heard Shinigami's giggle echo throughout the large room. She didn't seem to notice Shinigami had slipped behind a pillar on the side of the ballroom, as she pulled out a strange looking pendulum with a gem inside from her witch's hat. She gave a whistle to get Elsa's attention as Shinigami swung the pendulum back and forth. For a second, Elsa looked as if she had seen a cat's eye in the pendulum as she felt her mind slowly becoming blank.

With her opponent looking thoroughly hypnotized, Shinigami attempted to run toward her and subdue Elsa. However, right as she ran out, she felt herself slip on a large patch of ice that caused her to trip and slide hard across the ground.

"Almost had me." She heard Elsa say to her as Shinigami picked herself up to look in surprise at seeing the floor around Elsa covered in ice. "But let's just say I'm used to people trying to charge in at me."

'She froze the ground before I hypnotized her.' An impressed look fell on Shinigami's' face. "Not bad, Queeny." She drew her pendulum again before spinning it by its elongated chain and sending it hurtling toward Elsa, which she tried to block by erecting an ice-wall, but the pendulum smashed through it to knock Elsa back slightly as Shinigami ran forward to press the advantage. "But let's see how you handle close-quarters combat."

Shinigami flung her pendulum toward Elsa once she was up and close with her, only for Elsa to quickly generate an ice-katana in her right hand and quickly swing to block and parry the pendulum away, much to Shinigami's surprise before Elsa smirked back.

"I think I can manage." Elsa said before rushing Shinigami to swing her ice-sword at her, while Shinigami proved quick and agile enough to avoid each swing as she pulled her weapon back and flung it at Elsa again who deflected it with another swing of her ice-katana before slicing at Shinigami, who parried it with the chain of her weapon before leaping back to gain some distance, which Elsa attempted to press against by shooting more ice-bolts with her free hand, forcing Shinigami on the defensive before swinging her pendulum out to a chandelier to pull herself upward and swing towards Elsa feet first, which Elsa attempted to block with her katana, only for it to shatter as Shinigami knocked her down and pinned her to the floor, her feet at Elsa's ankles, and both Elsa's hands pinned above her head by one of Shinigami's other hands, while her free one brought her crescent-moon blade toward her neck.

"I win." Shinigami smirked, but Elsa smirked back.

"You sure about that?"

Shinigami was caught off guard as she just noticed four icicles slowly coming from the icy floor beneath Elsa, all aimed at Shinigami's stomach.

"A slit throat is usually instant death." Shinigami said as she gazed at Elsa. "But being gutted is even more excruciating… You are not the damsel in distress I made you out to be."

"If you came at me three years ago, I'd certainly would be." Elsa replied. "But now, I think I'm more the girl who puts people like you in distress. So, how's it feel, my little damsel?"

Shinigami actually laughed before releasing Elsa and standing up. "I like you." She offered the Queen of Arendelle a hand, which Elsa took with a genuine smile.

"Any friend of Karai's is a friend of mine." Elsa told her as the shook hands. "Come on, let's meet the rest of my family."

"So, let me get this straight." Kristoff began as he and everyone else addressed Shinigami directly. "That whole time, you were just testing us?"

"Not you, her." Shinigami pointed to Elsa. "Don't get me wrong, four talking kappa, a psychic, a wannabe hockey player…"

"Who you calling wannabe?!" Casey exclaimed, but Shini ignored him

"A real princess, a living snowman, and a random schmock with a pet mutant moose are interesting and all." She continued. "But I think a lady who seems to practically embody winter itself would be more fun to fight."

"I'm a reindeer, not a moose." Sven corrected.

"Well, apology accepted I guess." Donnie said.

"Alright, let's start over." The living snowman presented himself. "Hello Shinigami, my name is Olaf, and I like warm hugs.

"Yes, I know, Karai already told me." Shinigami brushed off. "But I gotta admit, you're probably the cutest thing I've ever seen."

"Awe, thank you." Olaf gushed.

Suddenly Mikey appeared as he wrapped his arm around Shinigami. "You think I'm cute? I can give you the face." He gave her his attempt at a cutesy face, which Shinigami found unimpressive as her eyelids lowered.

"And hey, since that's all cleared up, how about you stick around for the Autumn feast tomorrow?" Anna offered the kunoichi. "We can get to know each other a little bit more."

Shinigami thought for a moment before she smirked with a shrug. "Ah, what the hell? Sure, sounds fun."

As Shinigami continued to get acquainted with everyone else; Leo and Elsa talked with Karai about what she had been up to.

"So, what were you doing in Japan anyway?" Leo asked his sister.

"I was looking for Shredder." Karai answered, which got everyone's attention. "Another reason I 'recruited' Shini. Her family had dealings with him in the past, I thought we could use those connections to help track him down."

"We looked all over New York for him, but his old lair was abandoned." Raph said, specifically toward the Arendelle group.

"We even gave an anonymous tip to the police." Donnie added. "They and feds seized all of his assets in the city and shut down every single one of his operations."

"In the States, yeah." Karai replied. "So, I went to the Foot's branch in Japan to see if he was hiding there. We gave our information to the police, tried to track him down, we even uncovered some hideouts and other resources even I didn't think existed."

"And…? What did you find?" Kristoff asked.

"That's it." Karai said. "We found everything else, except Shredder. He's… just vanished. Gone. Like he's disappeared off the face of the Earth."

"And it's not just him." Shinigami added. "All his little friends are gone too. Tiger Claw, Bradford, Xever, even the bug, pig, and rhino. They're all gone."

"Well, they couldn't have just disappeared." Anna said. "Something had to have happened to them."

"Well, you did put buckethead through the ringer last time, you and Splinter." Casey said to Karai. "Maybe he's down for the count… as in… dead."

"Broke his spine, rendered his arms useless, I even used a paralyzing venom for good measure." Karai recalled that very moment when she, her past self, and Splinter, broke Shredder's body during the final battle for the Heart of Darkness before signing. "But somehow, I got the feeling that he's still alive."

"So… why does it feel like we're gonna be seeing him again soon?" Mikey asked in a somewhat scared tone.

"I love everybody and everything… but the Shredder is one person that I could not ever truly love…" Olaf said, a shiver going down his body.

"Do you really think he's still out there somewhere?" April asked with concern.

Elsa and Leo looked to one another before the Ice Queen of Arendelle spoke. "Even if he is, and we end up facing him again soon, I know we can beat him. We've done it before; we'll do it again."

"That's right." Leo agreed before taking Elsa's hand. "There's no force in this, or any other world, that can stop this family."

With that, an air of confidence and security befell the group as they all felt the same way. "Well, now that that's all done, let's all get some shut eye." Anna proposed. "We've got a big party tomorrow, and I don't think any of us want to miss out."

While it was true that the Foot was nowhere to be found anywhere on the Turtles' world, it was only because they were no longer based in that world. Their new headquarters laid about a mile away from Arendelle, deeper in the mountains. Before crossing over, the Foot had gathered whatever Kraang technology was left behind, which they used to build a cloaking field to keep their new base hidden from prying eyes.

Right outside the base, just behind the cloaking field, Anton Zeck and Ivan Steranko, otherwise known as the mutant warthog and rhino duo Bebop and Rocksteady, patrolled and guarded the area, along with Xever, also known as the cybernetic mutant fish named Fishface, when they saw someone enter the cloaking field, which was revealed to be Chris Bradford, also known as the terrifying mutant dog called Rahzar.

"Well?" Fishface asked.

"They have no idea." Rahzar replied. "All those little people in Arendelle don't even realize we're here, directly under their nose."

"Yo, you boys sure coming here was a good idea?" Bebop asked. "Boss man's in terrible shape, and the cops took all our stuff."

"We have no choice." Rocksteady replied. "Either this, or jail."

Meanwhile, inside the facility, two mutant scientists had just made the finishing touches on their newest serum. One was a humanoid fly named Baxter Stockman. The other looked like a living corpse clad in a black plague robe and hat with a blindfold covering his eyes and a white rat on his shoulder, formerly known as Victor Falco, now identified as the Rat King.

The mutant assassin known only as Tiger Claw entered the room. "This had better work." He told the pair. "You have spent almost a year and a half working on this formula."

"That'zzz becauzzze mixing magic and mutagen isn't eazzzy!" Stockman buzzed.

"There were setbacks, yes." The Rat King added. "Combining mutagen as well as the blood sample of that Ice Queen you procured in your first encounter with her has been difficult even for us. But we're confident this serum will work."

They presented a cylindrical container of said serum. The serum itself looked almost like mutagen, only instead of its titular green, it was a cyan-like color.

Tiger Claw then looked toward his master, who had been bedridden since the Triceraton Invasion eighteen months ago. His body was hooked up to several pieces of machinery, even had an oxygen-mask on his wrapped face. His spine was broken, his arms damaged beyond repair, and the poison Karai had injected him with had caused him to lose all sensation in his nerves. He was honestly surprised the poison wasn't lethal, he assumed that she wanted him to suffer, but that may very well be a mistake.

"Master." Tiger Claw bowed to him. "Despite Stockman and Falco's assurance, we carry too much risk. We are tampering with forces that we do not fully understand with the witch's magic, especially when combining it with mutagen. And if it should not work, we run the greater risk of being discovered since we are based so close to Arendelle. If the enemy should find us, I fear we may not be able to escape this time."

He heard a groan as he saw the crippled Oroku Saki attempt to speak. "They took… everything from me… my empire… even my body… so… I will take… everything from them… starting with Arendelle." Despite his body being damaged beyond hope of normal repair and conventional medicine, the dark hatred deep inside had only grown stronger with no sign of slowing down.

Stockman hooked up the serum to an I.V. hooked up to Saki's arm. The serum made its way down the tube and directly into Saki's blood stream. In less than a second, his veins began to glow an eerie cyan color as his eyes shot open, which also began to glow the same color.

Done.

So that ends chapter 1.

The heroes appear to be living happy lives at the moment, and despite an unusual first encounter, have now met Shinigami and have brought her into the group. I really enjoyed writing her sparing match against Elsa. I'm sure we can all see just how much she's changed, becoming much more confident with her powers, emotionally maturing, as well as growing physically into a capable fighter as well.

However, those happy times might not last much longer. The Shredder and his forces are now stationed just outside Arendelle and have something very sinister planned.

But the heroes may soon find that the Foot will not be their only concern as a blast from Arendelle's past presents itself in the next chapter, prompting our heroes to travel into the unknown (no pun intended) to uncover a mystery that has illuded the kingdom for many decades.

Please, stay safe and stay healthy out there. I look forward to the next update.

Booyakasha!
