Hey Everyone! I've been bouncing around a few story ideas and I wanted to do something with the MHA universe. This will be a semi-OC Fanficiton, but still a crossover nonetheless. Naruto will have a pretty OP quirk, just letting you all know.
He'll probably be more lackadaisical like my other Naruto character in my The Black Mist Story, but I think everyone enjoys him more that way.
Anyways, without further adieu, welcome to my first installation of my newest fic, Flash.
Chapter 1: Purpose
It was a rather average day in Mustafu, not much out of the ordinary besides a few 'Villains' doing small deeds and getting rounded up by their heroic counterparts.
A Society run by humans with developed mutations known as 'Quirks' held the largest part of the world's population at 80%. Though these mutations seemed powerful in their own right, only few held the title of 'Hero' with their quirks reigning supreme.
The use of the elements, strength and speed beyond human comprehension, healing abilities, conductive abilities, and anything you could think of in a Quirk, someone always had it. Some applications of one's Quirk were substantially better than others, therefore placing them higher in society on whether their quirks were more suited to the deeds of Hero.
In this void of need, Hero's were developed around the globe to battle those who used such abilities for their own selfish desire or to harm others. Adults and Children alike adored these famed figures, positioning them amongst the elitists of their individual countries for their Heroics under the law.
Though to one blonde haired teenager, Hero's using their fame and fortune as driving forces of their careers was not what he wanted for himself. Their cliche society only birthed more villains for them to combat to fit their agendas, because there would be no heroes without those willing to break the laws.
Overall, citizens needed to go to Hero School in order to earn their rights to use their quirk in public. Nevertheless, usage without permission by law, was illegal and faceage of jail time to a certain extent.
UA was said to be the best Hero School in all of Japan and every child coming from middle school who thought themselves to be the best, tried for their chance to be inducted into said institution. They had four definitive courses for the best of these students depending on where they fit best: Hero Course, Support Course, General Education Course, and the Business Course.
Naruto Uzumaki was not one of those people, his reason for heading in this particular direction was because of his 'Heroic Deed' he was seen doing the other day on his way home from school.
Flashback 5 Days Before
At one of the busiest intersections in downtown Mustafu, a girl had recently developed her quirk at the age of four and was unable to control her recently discovered powers.
Loud sirens and numerous car alarms went off as the street rippled in waves, leaving a little girl sat crying in the epicenter. Vehicles and citizens alike were tossed in random directions as the black concrete continued to send rubble and objects towards bystanders.
As people ran in cries of fear trying to outlast the rippling waves of demolition, Heroes arrived on the scene. As such, they tried their best to get towards the girl without further alarming her and continuing said destruction.
"Damn! I can't get close!" The Hero, 'Power Loader', exclaimed, fighting the rubble sent their way periodically.
"Where's Kamui?! My capabilities are limited in this space." Another Hero screamed over the sound of a smaller car blaring its horn, being sent their way.
A blonde haired, blue eyed teenager stood to the side out of harm's way. Dressed in his usual Middle School garb with a plain white tee, the dusty breeze drifted chaotically, blowing his loosely spiked hair over his oceanic orbs. He was pretty tall for his age at 5'10 and fit a lean, but muscular build under his clothing, which one would presume he trained vigorously for.
Of all things today, he presumed to be a rather boring turnout considering how mediocre his life was. But this...was something not as dull as he would have thought.
Seeing the Heroes on scene sort of panic at the turn of events and the viciousness of the girl's quirk, only further deplored his interest. Even Power Loader who was somewhat famous for his tech, couldn't even budge an inch with all random objects being sent his way.
It was sort of embarrassing if he said so himself. Heroes unable to perform their duties because of a four year old girl under distress innocently releasing her power. He would probably be able to get close with his Quirk, but he wasn't sure if it would stop the chaos ensuing.
'Hmm, well I have nothing better to do and well...saving a crying girl wasn't really on my schedule, but…' Without thinking about the predicatments he'd bring to himself, he flashed down right upon the target.
Yes...his Quirk was extremely powerful...and he had extremely good control over his power. Under his Quirk registration when he was younger, he had defined his Quirk as Teleportation, but that wasn't the only acclimation to his ability.
Within a range of 5 kilometers, he could flash anywhere he could see, and within a blink he'd disappear and reappear at said location. Within that time frame, the world around him would slow for a second allowing him to perform an action and witness the entirety of his surroundings. Even with such a high speed, tunnel vision was supposed to occur based on the natural physics of aggressive motion, but he had none, though he always chalked it up to being a part of his abilities.
As he closed in on the girl, he extended his arms to pick her up under the shoulder, hypothesizing that contact with something besides her arms resulted in her Quirk usage.
With his hands under her armpits, he picked her up and flashed again to the location of the Heroes, hoping to put her in custody of a Hero without revealing his face to the Public.
He was a private person and liked to be by himself, so keeping his face away from Media was all he wanted.
Someone had shown him there was another way to help others and himself without confrontation. 'But that's thought for another time.'
Within his timeframe, he slid Power Loader away from the last approaching debris, leaving him with a parting gift of the girl he saved.
It was always a mesmerizing sight watching the brief slow motion of others when using his Quirk. Sweat dripping slowly from faces, features of one's face twisted in a certain motion. Objects passively sitting in a calm and blank state. This moment was what made his Quirk the best.
Without allowing the Hero to see him, he flashed away once more.
As he disappeared, the streets grew quiet. The destructive force of the new Quirk user, miraculously appeared in Power Loader's arms. Seeing this scene, many citizens viewing from a safe distance yelled out in relief and praise for the Tech Hero.
"Sugoi! Power Loader is amazing, did you see that?!" One middle-aged man screamed.
"Power Loader is getting even stronger! How did he even do that?!" A female reporter sprouted as her cameraman faced her awestruck face.
During the mayhem, the large Hero was the most confused of all. The girl appeared in arms, and he felt as if someone placed them there...no he knew someone did. Just who though?
"What happened Power Loader? Is that some new tech or something?" His accompanying companion said.
"I'm not sure. I know there is nothing within my capabilities to make someone appear before me. But...I have this nagging feeling someone else was here…" Saying so, the Hero looked down at the girl in front of him, still crying silently asking for her Mom.
"Oh alright…well let's get the girl back to whoever is on scene for her. We'll report this later if what you presume is true." Power Loader nodded and jogged off towards the Police Barrier holding back the cheering citizens. The Hero smiled and waved seeing the people of Mustafu, even if it wasn't of his doing.
A Few Hours Later
"...and that is what I believe as to what had happened on site." The Hero explained his findings and the phantom feeling of being moved against his will.
A few Heros sat around a table meant for Heroes who were the best of the Mustafu sector.
Gun Hero: Snipe was the first to speak, "Hmm, so a powerful quirk in which you didn't see the offender save the little girl from her own Quirk and bring her to safety in a blink of an eye. This is troubling."
Midnight, the 18+ Hero followed, "Wow~ such an impressive ability, naked to the Hero Eye, how magnificent and terrifying at the same time." Some of the members nodded their head, although reluctant considering her tone of voice.
One member in the room stayed quiet as the others conversed and started to play the recording of the incident. Shouta Aizawa, known as Erased Head and a teacher of UA, had a feeling of who this person was, but he'd keep to himself until he saw more.
"Woah...did you see that, stop the video at 0:11 and look at the far left of the screen. There's a blonde boy there and gone within a fraction of the frame." Slowing it down at the point, the members' eyes widened at barely being able to catch the person on scene.
Dressed in a black blazer and flowing bright blonde hair...Aizawa was sure now. However, under different circumstances he wished he could have found the boy after his first encounter.
"I know who that is." The serious black haired man said, drawing the other Heroes to his insomniac features.
"Oh~ just who could this handsome young man be?" Midnight asked with a sultry smile.
Aizawa kept stoicism not falling for such behavior he was used to. "Naruto Uzumaki. Age 15. I encountered him many months ago, while he was doing some unsaavy things. I erased his quirk and...he matched me in hand-to-hand combat…" The group grew into an uncomfortable silence. Matching Aizawa in combat was not unheard of, but the black haired man was extremely reliable when it came down to combat without Quirks.
Snipe flipped to a page of the quirk registry and flipped it towards the middle of the table. "Teleportation? The Uzumaki boy should have graduated weeks ago, what is he not doing at a Hero school with such an ability?" The masked man asked the Eraser Hero who was still recovering from an attack on the USJ.
Aizawa sighed and turned his head to the screen, now showing a head shot of the boy. Naruto was stoic and lazily looking at the camera with half-lidded eyes. "He believes Heroes to be posers...or some of us...Uzumaki said he believes Heroes are the ones who operate in the dark to provide stability for Heroes such as Endeavor and All Might." His response was met with a few aprassing looks, but Shouta had an unnoticeable gleam in his eye.
"I had planned to bring him to UA, but he evaded me for months and I've never been able to catch him off guard again. This may be risky, but as an UA employee, I believe we should take the chance to reach out to him, before he goes an alternate path." Aizawa said with his low monotone voice.
For the first time, the UA principal spoke, "Aizawa-kun, you said he was caught in the act once before. Therefore, before I share my opinion, what was the occurrence?" Nezu said in a carefree voice, sitting short in stature.
"The gaki was hired to be the getaway on a Bank Heist in the 2-E sector at Karei International. I caught him before the offenders made their way to him and we fought. He said he needed the money to pay rent after being dropped from the Japan Government's Legal Plan for Orphans. He was broke and desperate, so I made a judgement call. We talked for a while after all suspects were arrested, and he wasn't very forthcoming with information. Supposedly he's been in and out of Orphanages since the day he was born, and lived with the bare necessities. He...reminded me of myself in a way and I was particularly fond of him, but he vanished before I was able to offer him a spot in UA." Eraserhead told the story, drawing the attention of everyone in the room. Many whispered to themselves as he finished, especially after saying he was fond of someone.
Nezu stood on his seat and smiled, "That is very against your character Aizawa-kun...but color me intrigued. I'll accept your judgement, he'll be accepted into the General Ed course if he accepts. In the meantime, get ahold of the boy through the government directory and extend the invitation as a token of faith, either that or Kayama-chan can fetch him." The 18+ only Hero seductively smirked in Shouta's direction, colorfully displaying her interest in such a prospect of her Gen Ed class.
The black haired man sighed and nodded.
"The General Education class before the Sports Festival? I see Principal Nezu...this will truly be a test of both the Uzumaki boy and the other students. Bringing such a powerful outside force for them to mature their powers against. This will also draw him to Heroes who offer internships at their agencies if he does well...impressive as always." Snipe added his thoughts, getting many nods of agreement in Nezu's direction.
The principal chuckled, "Thank you! If that is all...the meeting is adjourned. Remember to prepare your stations for the festival, our security should be top priority after these recent attacks." After his statement, the Heroes quickly shuffled out into, determined to prove UA and Mustafu to still be strong and proud after the USJ attacks.
Flashback End
Naruto was walking through the halls of UA after accepting the invitation to see the Principal for some reason.
He was no one special, but he did have a feeling that Aizawa ratted him out to the school. But why?
Students and Faculty stared at him as he wandered, trying to find his way through the labyrinth of students and classes. He was the odd-man out as he wasn't wearing a uniform and was wearing a mask over the bridge of his nose, the blonde was guessing that his presence was disturbing for some after being recently attacked by the League of Villains.
Out of nowhere, a student with glasses and a sturdy form about his height with black hair, marched up to him. "You there! Boy in the Blazer, it is not acceptable to be on campus without a Uniform! I will have to take you to Campus Security as it is against Student Policy!" The teenager scolded, waving his forearms back and forth.
As he approached the Uzumaki to take him away, a caressing hand touched him on the shoulder, "Oh no worries Iida-kun~ This one is with me, I'll take him from here." Ingenium's brother saluted at the revealing outfit of the Gen Ed teacher, Midnight, though staring at the blonde briefly before taking off.
Naruto watched the fast boy sprint off, comically kicking up dust from a clean hallway. The masked blonde returned his attention lazily to the women in front of him, standing with a hand on her hip. "You must be Uzumaki-kun. I'll take you to Principal Nezu, I could see you were struggling with direction." She giggled a little, trying to draw a smile or something out of the stoic boy.
Seeing no reaction, she pouted and turned heel, motioning him to follow.
"No fun, my charms always work on boys your age." She added with a swing of her hips and slow look over her shoulder as they began walking through the crowds of students. Offering no response, she continued he pout playfully,
A Few Minutes Later
A knock on the door of Nezu's office alerted him of his visitor he had been monitoring on the School Cameras. Just by observing him, he could see why Aizawa said he was like him. They were both stoic to a point, neither bothered by the actions of those around them, but still very observant and always had their guard up.
Seeing Midnight and Naruto Uzumaki come through the door, he plastered a welcoming smile. "Hello Uzumaki-kun! Welcome to UA, how are you doing today?" The mouse asked politely.
The 18+ only Hero sat him down in a chair next to herself, "I'm fine Principal Nezu-sama." He replied boringly with a dull, but slightly guarded voice.
"Ohohoho, there is no need for such honor. The honor is all mine." At the boy's nod and gaze shifting towards the woman next to him, Midnight continued for the Principal, "You're probably questioning why you've been summoned here today, yes?"
Naruto nodded, "Eraser Head notified us of your existence and we want to help you develop into a Hero through UA." She smiled genuinely, which confused him a tad.
The masked blonde's eye widened considerably before narrowing in suspicion, "So Aizawa-san told me about you. I suspected so, but this, I was never expecting. I'm not sure if Aizawa-san told you, but I'm not particularly fond of being a spotlight Hero, which is what this school specializes in. So why me, I'm just another person with a Quirk." He said evenly, yet had a hint of disbelief in his tone.
Nezu grinned, "Of course. We have been notified of your previous endeavors and your talk with Eraser Head. But, he convinced me and the other Faculty into cultivating the talent and drive he sees in you. Fortunately, we had a spot open up in our General Education Course after a transfer to the Business Course. We, UA humbly offer you a position if you want it. Though, if you decline, we will have you recommended for next year's UA Exam. If you do accept, Ms. Kayama will be your teacher in the General Education Course, where you'll have a shot for the Hero Course during the Sports Festival."
Naruto was actually taken back. Never in his life before Aizawa had anyone ever gone out of their way to do anything for him. He was just another face in the crowd even with a powerful quirk, he was just Naruto Uzumaki, the unwanted Orphan. "I don't understand, such kindness comes at a cost. Forgive me for being skeptical, but is there some ultimatum, because I'm not naive to believe in free education."
Nemuri had been sitting silently. A motherly instinct had enacted itself as she stared at his disbelieving face of kindness being directed towards him. It was as if he had never experienced such a situation of care from someone else before. It was truly saddening, and as a Hero, it was disheartening to see innocents suffer.
Hearing him voice his concerns, she placed a comforting hand on his shoulder which he twitched at. "Sometimes in life, kindness is truly unbelievable to believe that someone doesn't have ulterior motives. You don't have to believe us, but we believe in our fellow Heroes, and Aizawa truly does say you have potential. You don't have to answer today, but talk to Aizawa before you leave today, maybe then you will find some clarity." The blonde finally relaxed into her touch. Had he never experienced such familial confrontation before?
The masked blonde gazed towards the principal to confirm her statement. In return, he got a smile and a letter pushed in front of him, signifying that he had already prepared for said meeting, acceptance or not. "I see. I'd like to talk with Aizawa first, I...I want his confirmation before I sign anything." Naruto said lazily, though they could tell he was struggling slightly.
"Of course, you can come back at any time today. Kayama-chan will show you to his Class, though I do believe they are Outside Quirk training today." Nezu finished still happily speaking like before.
Naruto got up from his seat and bowed slightly at both persons getting an amused chuckle out of Midnight. "Thank you Kayama-sama, Nezu-sama."
Nemuri stared at him briefly once more, before laughing. As he stood up, she looked him in the eye, "No -sama from you mister. You may call me Kayama-sensei, now let's get going, don't want Aizawa-kun to get grumpy!" Seeing his mouth slightly twitch through his mask, made the little chibi version of herself in her head dance.
Principal Nezu waved them both goodbye as they disappeared beyond his office door.
Outside
The masked blonde was trying to reign in his thoughts before he was interrupted by the melodic voice of his potential Future Teacher. "So~ Naruto-kun, what is your Quirk?" She asked seductively, drawing closer to him. She already knew the answer, but she wanted to hear it from him.
Naruto frowned, "I won't reveal my Quirk until I become a student. Aizawa-san didn't tell me his when I asked, and he almost beat me because of it."
Nemuri smiled begrudgingly, "Ok I see. Aizawa-kun is tactically smart, just as you are. I can respect that. Though you called me Kayama-sama, you called Eraser Head, Aizawa-san. Why is that?" She tilted her head in a curious manner.
Naruto kept his head forward, "Well...When he talked to me after...the incident, I called him Aizawa-sama and he denied it, same as you and Nezu-sama. I thought I was supposed to title those I respect as such." He said stoically.
"Respect huh? I did little to deserve that title, but I thank you. I think you might be my favorite student if you accept UA's invitation." The 18+ Hero laughed heartily.
Naruto smiled slightly, "Though I think Aizawa already staked his claim on that title." She added lightly, inspecting him for his reaction. Seeing him gain a small glint in his eyes was enough reaction for her.
"That would be nice. I respect Aizawa-san for sending me down a different road. I would have ended up a criminal if he didn't cease my desperation. I hope to be someone like him one day even if I do have my own ideals." Naruto looked at the ground, almost as if he was speaking to his reflection more than Nemuri.
"Oh? He said you were always avoiding him after that, may I ask why?" Kayama asked politely, although she saw they were approaching the facility shortly.
Naruto sighed, whether it was in shame or not, she didn't know. "I thought he changed his mind about me or only did it out of obligation of his requirements as being a Hero. I don't want pity nor charity, so that's why I'm still reluctant to believe UA wanted someone like me." He said monotonously, mirroring her colleague's voice.
Nemuri looked unhappily at him demeaning himself, but said nothing further. "We're here. Aizawa is just inside, I have to get back to class, so behave yourself young man. And also, goodluck." She purred at the end snapping her whip and receding to the hallway they just entered from.
The masked blonde waited for a second before stepping in. This would be the first time since that incident that he saw Aizawa, and he was feeling determined for his input once more.
Inside
Shouta Aizawa looked on appraisingly at his students. They truly were a crop above the rest, and he believed they knew it as well. Some still needed attitude adjustments, like his certain raging blonde exploding boy. They were all excellent users of their respective quirks, and their limits kept increasing as they trained further.
The USJ incident really showed the students how unprepared they still were for the real world. They could have easily lost their lives, as well as him, fortunately they came out clean after All Might rid the 'League of Villains' as they called themselves. It showed them what they needed to work on to improve and how to handle a situation like that in the future better.
It was sort of a blessing in disguise. He could do without the absolute beating he received from the Nomu though.
He would probably indulge in even more training after being shown how helpless he was fighting the Nomu. He knew he wasn't a match for All Might, but still, he might have become complacent in his abilities over time, and that wasn't acceptable for him.
It was truly pathetic, having to admit to his fellow Heroes how a 15 year old boy matched him in combat and was cannon fodder against a biological created weapon.
Speaking of the gaki, he was expecting him some time at school. Hopefully he accepted UA's invitation, the Hero community did not have many underground Heroes such as himself, and he saw much potential in the younger boy.
Suddenly he heard footsteps approaching him from behind. He wasn't expecting any visitors, so doing as anyone else would, he turned to find who was interrupting his class.
"Aizawa-san, hello." The voice said blandly, rid of emotion.
The black haired hero's eyes widened slightly under his bandaged face. He truly was not expecting this. He turned back around to his students as Naruto stood next to him doing the same.
He peered over his bandages at the boy who now stood the same height as him. "It is nice to see you again, Naruto. I assume the school informed you of my recommendation?" Aizawa said more as a statement than a question.
Naruto nodded slowly. "Yes. They said you saw potential in me. They offered me a place in General Education, but...I wanted your advice before I made a decision." He said stoically, albeit a bit reluctantly.
Aizawa was intrigued and motioned that he was listening. "It is hard for me to accept things at face value as you know. I've never had people act so caring towards me, Hero or not. I find it suspicious, and I wanted to talk to you before I made a decision. Why would you go out of your way for me? I'm just an Orphan with a Quirk, I know I'm strong, but there are plenty of strong Heroes. So Aizawa-san, what would you do if you were me?" Naruto said without facing him.
Eraser Head sighed, "Go out of my way? I say you have potential and I believe my judgement was well placed. Even now you're skeptical and that is not a bad thing, no, it makes you better than some even in the Hero Course. You're right, you're just another person with a Quirk, but unlike most here, they don't know the true Hero World outside of what they see on TV. You were there, you nearly became a Villain, and you've been in the ventures of desperation. None of these kids have seen the things you've seen, and that makes you more prepared than them for when the time comes for one to become a Pro Hero. So what would I do in your place? Become a UA student, prove that you can be a pillar that supports the Top Heroes from the shadows. Destroy all the students at the Sports Festival with the power I know you are capable of. Even if some of them are my students, they don't have much to lose, but you, Naruto Uzumaki, have everything to lose, because you have nothing. You think you are the only one out there in the Orphan system, or living on the streets with Quirks but unable to prove themselves, think Naruto, All Might may try for successors for the Symbol of Peace, but you could be the Symbol of Hope." Naruto stared wide eyed at Aizawa, on the verge of tears. A Symbol of Hope for others such as himself? Someone believed in him to be that important?
Naruto recollected himself and turned away from the Hero, so that he wouldn't see the trembling in his eyes, "Now you understand. I trust in your judgement to make the right choice, people will be rooting for you now. Always remember that." The man gripped his shoulder tightly and started to walk towards his group of students now waiting for him.
"Thank you Aizawa-san, I think I have made my choice. I have a purpose now, and that was all I ever needed." The masked blonde hastily made his way back to the door, hoping the man hadn't heard the last part.
All he needed was for one person to believe in him, but he realized now that there were others waiting for someone as well. He would be their symbol, the Orphan Hero, and NO ONE would prevent that from happening.
He rid himself of emotion, and he still believed in emotions clouding one's judgement, but the hope he felt in his chest was churning his determination to be more.
Naruto Uzumaki's choice was made.
Aizawa With Class
As the Underground Hero approached his class, they all were whispering and pointing in the direction of Naruto retreating.
Some were pale in the face, others had their eyes and mouth wide as if they had been told the most unbelievable thing. Sometimes he forgot how easily swayed kids could be.
Mina Ashido, the Acid Quirk user, shouted at him when he got close enough, "Aizawa-sensei! Is it true that that blonde guy is your son?!"
'What?' Aizawa thought annoyingly. 'Where did they even come up with that?'
His silence was taken the wrong way. "I didn't know you had a son, sensei! Why didn't you tell us?!" Denki Kaminari, the Electrification Quirk user, said esparetly, showing straight disbelief.
"Wai-" He was cut off again by Sato, the Sugar Rush Quirk user, "Is he a Third Year or something?"
"No he is-" Aizawa was getting fed up with being ignored, still being rushed with questions.
"Aizawa-sensei, is he strong?"
"Why is he blonde?"
"Is he wearing a mask to make his Father feel better, kero?"
"I wonder if Aizawa-sensei has a daughter?"
"What's his quirk?"
"Is he manly?"
"Does he have Daddy problems?"
"Why should I care about another extra?"
"Enough!" He grumbled in a low and melodic voice, his eyes now glued upon their persons.
"Listen...he's not my son." Everyone turned to Iida, who looked away ashamed, before turning around and bowing at the waist in front of the Homeroom Teacher.
"I apologize Aizawa-sensei! It is unbecoming of a student to assume something without evidence! I am a shame to my classmates and upperclassmen! I will receive my punishment with honor!" The Turbo Engine user yelled proudly towards the ground.
"Get up...you'll probably be seeing more of him, but no he is not my son.
...Keep striving to improve, the Sports Festival is next week. Come prepared and determined, the entirety of Japan has their eyes on Class 1-A. Dismissed." Everyone shuffled off embarrassingly, besides a few who didn't care much.
"Iida-san, you said he had the same look on his face as Aizawa-sensei, where the hell does that say he's his son?" Aizawa heard someone yell at the Class Representative as they left for the day.
'They will need to keep training if they even have a hope of defeating Naruto in battle. With his Quirk I doubt any of them have much of a fighting chance. He's already Top 10 worthy and that is truly frightening.' Shouta added to his thoughts as he looked at the backs of his students.
Principal Nezu's Office
"I accept Nezu-sama." The Principal smiled and laughed happily for the boy.
"I see Aizawa-kun has a lot of influence in your decision. I believe he has told you the actual reason for his recommendation?" The mouse said cheerfully with his fingers interlaced.
"Yes Nezu-sama." The masked blonde said stoically.
The white mouse smiled slyly in a way that confused the teenager, "So...this is what I need you to do during the Sports Festival in order to prove your worth to those that will doubt your complacency…"
Naruto leaned in unconsciously...
A Day Later
For some reason, Kayama-sensei wanted to make a dramatic entrance for him on his first day. People around the school were already puzzled to see a new student a month after the exams. All the eyes were quizzically on him and abruptly, like the previous day, Midnight came to the rescue.
She told him on the way to class that there was a rumor he was Aizawa-san's son. She got a hearty chuckle out of that. Supposedly the Engine Leg boy he met the day before, had started it accidentally and it further snow-balled from there.
Him an Orphan, having parents? That was a laughable joke that dried a long, long time ago.
"You ready Naruto-kun? Count to 30 and then come in, we will have a necessary introduction." Nemuri said confidently, cracking her whip in her right hand.
Naruto sighed slowly, "That's not necessary Kayama-sensei, I can ju-" He was silenced by her finger directly pointed a little too close to his face.
"Nonsense! I proclaimed you as my favorite and you will do your role or be...punished~" She slapped the whip into her opposite hand suggestively.
Nemuri watched happily as he squirmed under her glance. She could get any boy or man wrapped around her thumb so easily it hurt, but Naruto held firm.
Maybe because he was the hardest to fluster was the reason he was her favorite.
"Alright let's get this started," she entered the room slowly and gently shut the door behind her, "Hello Class! Today we have a new student, he was recently brought in to fill our empty spot. You might have already seen him around school or not, but I'll allow him to introduce himself to you all. Remember not to speak, or get the whip!" She walked calmly to the door, before opening it up to reveal the tall blonde boy.
Many people in the class instantly recognized him as the supposed Class 1-A Sensei's son through rumors, while others couldn't care less or had no idea of him at all.
Some girls became flustered at his appearance. He was really mysterious and quite the looker even with the mask. His blond hair was unruly and covered his forehead with a bright messy blonde, while half-lidded blue eyes looked lazily upon the group of teenagers. His face had no blemishes or damaged skin, and he seemed to be pretty athletically built based on how his uniform stretched in certain areas of his body.
'What a steal!' Some of the girls thought excitedly.
Midnight motioned for him to speak, "Hello, my name is Naruto Uzumaki. I'm an Orphan and I hope we can get along." He kept his hands in pockets, waiting for someone to ask a question.
None came.
Everyone looked at him and then went back to their teacher. Was he supposed to say anything else?
"Uh Naruto-kun, when introducing yourself you say your likes, dislikes, and hobbies. You know that sort of stuff, so…" Kayama wafted her hand in a circular motion, getting him to continue.
"My likes? I have some...Dislikes? I have some of those as well. Hobbies? Maybe." He passively looked towards Nemuri whose eye was twitching, but still smiling scaringly.
She shuffled him off to a seat in the back, "Uh well, thank you Naruto-kun. Just...take out your review guides...we have material to cover. Remember to get ready for the Sports Festival, this is your chance to prove yourself to the Heroes and their agencies. Do not disregard other routes as well, they do offer big bucks for inventive and business personalities. Keep an open mind."
Naruto sat next to a purple haired boy with long spiked out hair with deep bags under his eyes. He looked on boringly with his hand in his palm, tuning out the lecture. He turned slightly to the side to face the masked blonde. "Brought in before the Sports Festival huh?"
Naruto's emotionless face turned towards the boy who actually looked like Aizawa's illegitimate child. "Yes." He said shortly.
The bored boy returned his gaze forwardly. "As long as you don't have an Ego, I think we'll get along okay. My name is Shinso Hitoshi." He didn't offer his hand or even seem mildly interested.
"Nice to meet you. What is your Quirk?" Naruto said testingly.
Shinso turned a dumbfounded eye towards him, "That would be telling, and I need all the advantages I can get. Some of us were forced to take alternate routes and this will be one of three chances to land a spot in the hero course. I'm sure you understand, being in the same boat and all." He said evenly without any emotion.
"I understand. Eliminating the knowledge of one's Quirk speaks volume on their person. You won't take any chances and I respect those kinds of people." For the first time since he sat down, Hitoshi's eyes widened.
Shinso collected himself once more after staring at the new kid for a few seconds, trying to discover any kind of false perception. "There are many students from all courses going out to scout Class 1-A. Are you going to go later?"
Naruto liked this guy. The blonde had never had a friend before, so was this what it was like to find someone companionable? "I observed their class yesterday. I have knowledge of all their Quirks, Strengths and Weaknesses alike. Failure is not an option for me, so…" Naruto looked over at the boy, "I'm not taking any chances either. So yes, I will."
Shinso's face vaulted upwards once more, before settling in an uneven and confident grin. "I see. Follow me after class."
"Hey Naruto-kun~ it's your first day, pay attention. Remember my threat~" Naruto's face paled for a partial second.
'Troublesome and Crazy? Mendokusei' Naruto thought.
Later: Location - Class 1-A Hallway
Shinso pushed his way to the front, in order to see Bakugou claiming he will beat them all and be number 1. Naruto followed along, just slightly beyond the shorter teenager.
(Canon Shinso Intro and Declaration of War)
Hitoshi turned to leave when someone grabbed Naruto by the shoulder. "Ah! I'm Tenya Iida from Class 1-A, I apologize for starting a rumor about my fellow student. It is against my ideals, so I humbly apologize." He said to the blonde who looked back lazily, but accepting with a nod.
Tenya seemed to notice his uniform and confusedly looked him up and down. "W-wait! Since when did you go here! Aizawa-sensei said you didn't go here."
"I was to replace a seat in the General Education course, that's all." The Uzumaki said stoically, leaving the Turbo Quirk user uncomfortable with his dead eyes.
Shinso and Naruto left without another word, students parted like the Red Sea. Even if they were Gen Ed students, they were intimidating to even the other hero students.
"Declaration of War? We should have kept under the radar, letting them think unknowns had no chance. I will be aiming for mediocrity until One on One battles. But our paths will be separate I suppose" The masked blonde rumbled under his mask, keeping his hands in his pockets.
The purple haired teenager looked over for a second at his classmate, "Confidence or Arrogance to get that far?" He started with a little disgust.
"Neither. I have no choice, people are depending on my ability to produce results, I cannot paint a target on my back. So, I suggest you do the same Hitoshi." Shinso raised an eyebrow at that comment, but disregarded it as determination.
"Hmm. I guess you're right." They walked in comfortable silence, lost in their own thoughts.
Principal Meeting with Teachers
"What?! You can't be serious Principal Nezu!" Vlad King or Kan Sejikiro exclaimed, completely lost at the logic.
Other teachers voiced their concerns, all over the same thing. 'Naruto Uzumaki'
"He matched Aizawa-san in combat without his Quirk and was working in a villainous ring? How was such a person admitted to this institution?" Another added.
Nezu laughed heartily, "Calm down. He deserves a chance to compete for a certain reason you do not know of. But my word is law...so do as you're told. The students will have to adapt to an 'Ultimate Challenger'. I gave him a mission of sorts...and he will fulfill it, because he has more reason for success than any of the others." He said with conviction.
All Might voiced his doubt in his skeleton form, "Mission?"
"Yes. To win the Sports Festival, under the guise of a Hero Student turned from the path of Villainy!" He chuckled with Midnight, as all others began to yell their disagreements once again.
All Might discreetly left to notify his student. He was worried about Young Midoriya, but he knew Nezu always had a good reason for the choices he made. That didn't mean he couldn't warn his student about a certain blonde Uzumaki.
With Deku
"Oh, I'm so pumped Deku-kun! The Festival is in three days, we've all been training so hard!" Ochako exclaimed as she walked with her Black and Green haired classmate.
Deku smiled brightly at her, "Right! Let's do our best!"
"Psst! Young Midoriya! Over here!" The One for All successor turned to his Master, the Number One Hero, All Might.
"Oh, oh All Might, what's going on?" Izuku asked innocently, with Ochako standing next to him.
All Might motioned for him to come around the corner. He looked like he was in a panic, so thinking it was important he followed quickly behind the very large man.
"All Might, what's wrong?" The boy asked worryingly.
The blonde haired Hero sighed loudly, "All I can say is...stay away from Naruto Uzumaki during the Sports Festival. I-I can't say anything else. Oh yeah...and Good Luck and don't forget to clench your cheeks!" Then the large man brought his never dying grin back on and sprinted away with blood pooling around the corners of his lips.
"W-wait! I don't even know who that is…" Deku tried to call after him, but did not prevail.
Walking back around the corner to an awaiting Ochako, shuffling her feet around, she turned her head and visibly brightened at his reappearance. "What happened?! What did All Might say?!" She the. Started to calm down at the distraught look on his face.
"'Stay away from Naruto Uzumaki during the Sports Festival.' But he didn't even give me anything else to go on. What does that even mean?" He tried to come up with an answer, but was left with more questions than answers. If this person was putting All Might on edge for his safety, then he would abide by his words for sure.
"Oh okay...then we will, right? It's probably like some agency person or something." She said, trying to cheer him up.
He smiled at her, "You're probably right. Thanks Ochako-san."
The Sports Festival was soon and getting nervous, especially since he had to prove himself worthy to All Might and the world, should be the only thing on his mind.
Yeah. Probably some manipulative business man.
