Reincarnation as an Evolving Human

It was a blessing, getting away from there.

Rather, dying was a blessing after being shot by Reborn in the forehead, telling her something about 'Dying Will' and confess to her crush, Hibari-senpai who saved her once and called her a 'small animal'. It was far better than 'dame-daidai', from the 'tou' in her name that meant 'orange'. It was also a homophone for 'die' as in actual 'shinee'. The 'ka' in her name meant 'fire'.

But she knows better.

He doesn't like weaklings, nevermind useless weaklings like herself.

Besides, it was a superficial like anyway. He would never be a friend, nevermind boyfriend to someone like her. The girls tell her she's ugly, useless and no-good. Nobody but Hibari-senpai saved her not once, but seven times.

She chose death, than be hurt all her life by such cruel people when she never wronged anyone her whole life.

Hey, they DID say Japan has high suicide rates because of bullying, right?

She also wished that she could do better in her next life so she can finally have friends and people who would give a damn about her.

She wished to be a capable and strong person. So that she can take care of herself and not rely on anyone.

She imagined a perfect girl in her visage. Both in natural looks, and in skills a girl should have.

She imagined having Hibari's fighting abilities, and self-reliance on treating herself, as well as others.

OK, she's hallucinating now...she's hearing things upon death.

/Confirm Skillset? Yes? No?/

She saw a list of skills and explanations.

"Can I edit something? I wanna get rid of those two among my Unique Skills. Too creepy and I'm not such a villainous person."

/Editing successful. Confirm Skillset? Yes? No?/

"Yes."

The last she saw was Reborn's troubled face.

"Too bad for you, no Mafia Boss for your Vongola. You yourself killed me, you jerk." was her inner sneer, as she chose to follow the voice and died.

She woke up in a filthy orphanage where she and her fellow kids are clearly, neglected orphans. They were filthy and dressed in rags. Also no better than skin and bones.

The Orphanage Caretakers were not just useless but also abusive drunks.

Her current body, is 7 years old, waking up in a dilapidated, crowded room of bunk beds and she shares with another girl her bed.

Her mind was assaulted with knowledge she wished she had, some of which she had no clue for a few seconds until it came naturally. And while she looks and feels human, her body is now magical in nature. She is a demi-human as her body changed due to skills she has despite how malnourished her new body was, and the rags she wore. She has stuff impossible for humans to have and her...status? Showed her as such.

She was beginning to evolve, granting her a body that can never feel pain via 'Instant Healing' as long as there's magicules to feed off of via Assimilation. If hurt, she heals so quick before she can even feel she's hurt from any kind of injury, be it physical, chemical, magical and mental. And fast enough that she won't die if she got chunks of her head or torso blown off. Her true death will only come if stabbed fatally and the weapon wasn't removed on time to heal from. She also has Universal Disease Immunity.

She activated her Instant Healing ability, rapidly absorbing magicules for it and her frail body filled out nicely, and grew to a height befitting a seven year old.

For now, she activated her Hyper Intuition skill.

A skill that allows her to to process the world in the most advanced/efficient manner possible to find the most efficient and practical solutions to any/all kinds of problems that she faces, using both logical and illogical sense and strategies. They tend to abandon logic and play with pure instinct, generally making illogical but successful moves and decisions. This supports many type of instincts. She can even analyze things she wants to know about, effectively functioning like a Scan spell in a game.

The kitchen, is full of nothing but booze, and some snacks for beer.

What about children's food, huh?!

'...it seems, no matter where I go...adults are useless.' she mused bitterly. 'I should make the hateful things disappear.'

She went upstairs to the rooms of the caretakers. Doors ain't locked.

Quietly opening it after burning rust off of the hinges, making the door squeak-free, she proceeded to instantly burn them to ashes.

'Job done.' she searched the room for money as she remembered that they get orphanage money from the priests in Ingracia yesterday as this body's memories told her. Their monthly budget is 50000 gold, big enough money to feed and clothe everyone.

The money should mostly go to food and basic education as it takes a while to buy new clothes, and medicine is on an as-needed basis so it's hardly bought. And of course, the monthly salary of the caretakers.

The money left, is 37211 gold.

It's not even day one, that much is gone already?! Bastards...! She shook in anger.

It seems the first step for her, is to take care of herself and her fellow orphans.

It's still dark. Maybe hours before sunset?

She went into the city, guarded by sleepy guards.

She went to the place where merchants store their goods after buying them off of farmers.

She scanned every item, and developed the Item Box spell.

She stole 100 of every condiment, bags of salt and sugar, sacks of grains, eggs, bottles of milk, and crates of vegetables. Basically, emptying the whole warehouse's worth of goodies, worth 3500 gold. Meat is too expensive right now, she has other things to think about.

She left a stack of money, and carved letters on the walls.

We are in dire need of food but we really cannot wait for stores to open much longer. I left behind money equivalent to what we took.

After that, she went to another store.

A store that has tools and equipment for cooking and sewing, and another store for fabrics. She also found a place where they sell weaving materials.

Hmm!

Her Crafting Skill and Sewing Skill from her Ideal Girl Image will come in handy now...

The money left to her now, is 31090 gold.

Enough for medicine if shit happens.

At home...

Using the food she stole, she began cooking a nutritious meal for hungry orphans.

She can use magic to process goods. The grains, she turned into wholegrain flours.

Pancakes! And Yosenabe. Just purely vegetable though...no tofu in this world. And the money they have is for medicine.

'Something smells good...'

'The adults are cooking for once?!'

'They must be too drunk...let's take advantage!' when the other orphans saw who's in the kitchen, its their fellow orphan called... 'Dita?!'

Sawada Touka, now Dita turned to look at her fellow orphans.

'Hi!' she smiled.

'You...can cook?' a sandy-haired blue-eyed boy named Colt croaked out in disbelief.

'I awakened to some skills...I thought I'd put it to good use since the adults are useless.' said Dita.

'Speaking, where ARE they?' another boy called Frank pointed out. He has spiky black hair with eyes to match.

'They weren't here when I woke up...so I stole some stuff from the city hours ago.' Dita explained. 'Let's have some food while they're gone.'

'Agreed!' everyone was quick to agree with her, really wanting food after several hungry days.

Dita served up food and her fellow orphans drooled. They each have two pieces of thick pancakes she made out of wholewheat flour, eggs, milk and some baking powder, and Yosenabe containing brain and eye-friendly veggies.

'You awakened to skills...so will you try to be a Hero in that academy in the city?' a girl named Elle asked her. She has yellow-blonde hair and green eyes.

'Like hell, I don't wanna be a soldier.' Dita snorted. 'I like a peaceful life, thanks. There's more to life than fighting for a corrupt country. I prefer adventuring more as that way, we work for ourselves and our efforts of our work are truly our own.' she said. 'In guilds, you take quests and you get paid rewards equivalent to difficulty. More importantly, taxes are NOT deducted from our reward money!' she pointed out. 'As long as you're an adventurer, you'll never pay taxes unlike everyone else when even nobles pay taxes! It's a sweet deal if you ask me!'

'I'll teach you guys some of my skills so once we're old enough, we're leaving this dumb place! We'll do what we want in life.'

With that, she cemented herself as leader.

She taught everyone skills she felt orphans will need in life.

Reading, Writing and Math. And how to use money.

Cooking, Cleaning and Laundry. Including equivalent of modern earth cheats and hacks.

Crafts and Tailoring.

Hunting and Foraging.

Pharmaceuticals.

Body Training and Fighting Training until ten years old, before going out to hunt monsters their skill level. They also ate healthily during this time as after Brain and Eye friendly foods, it's food good for bone and muscle next.

Absorbing Magicules to be able to use basic spells to help in life, as well as using magicules in the air for stronger, multi-target and AoE spells as humans cannot have Magicules beyond their physiology to handle, as Magicules are TOXIC to humans, if too much. So that's sorcery training. Hi-speed manipulation and casting of spells, Fire magic for cooking and warmth against cold. Water and Ice magic for cooking and withstanding hot terrains, and enjoy cold drinks. Light Orbs to light up places and camp at night as firewood doesn't last forever. Barrier Magic. And Status Buff Magic.

Its tough to teach all these to malnourished kids but with Dita's Unique Skill: Dying Will of the Sky attribute, she utilized and cast Assimilation so her fellow orphans absorb and never forget what she taught them.

She effectively shared these skills to her fellow orphans.

That come age thirteen, Dita is now a D-Rank monster. Her brown eyes have a vivid glow to it and her black eyelashes now matched the color of her hair. She also grew up very attractive, a trait from her Ideal Girl Image skillset which is called 'Cosmetic Growth - casting it on self or other girls will guarantee the best traits in a girl to come out before they turn sixteen. Must be cast while caster or target is very young. Effects depend on body's potential'. So she and her sister orphans grew up very attractive young girls with very feminine faces.

'Dita, those guys never did come back...how'd you get the money from the priests?' Gina, a black-haired and brown-eyed girl asked her.

'I put an illusion, see?' Dita disguised herself as one of their caretakers. 'Really, those jerks...taking care of us kids isn't that expensive, it's their vices that are.' she sighed. 'Our monthly budget is 50000 gold and in one day, a large chunk of it is gone...so I got rid of them long ago.' it didn't take the kids seconds to figure what she meant by that.

That meant she lied to them for years that 'they're on a luxury vacation'!

'We're now thirteen, so I'll split our small fortune between all twelve of you.' Dita conjured a large sack of gold coins and with magic, divided into smaller sacks containing coins.

'Eh? But what about you Dita?'

'I have no need.' said Dita. 'I can't come with you guys in human cities any more.' she said softly. 'Look at my eyes...what do you see?' she pointed out. Her fellow kids looked to see brown eyelashes, not the black they used to be!

'Brown...eyelashes?'

'Yes...somehow, I am on my way to becoming a monster as a demi-human...if I am seen in a human city, everyone will want to kill me on sight just for being one, regardless of the fact that I'm good or bad. It'll be discriminatory killing and calling it 'justice'.' Dita shook her head sadly. 'That's why I'm not taking any of our money. Monster Civilization don't need money, they take what they need by hunting and foraging. They have no use for money, only humans do that. I'm giving it to you guys instead.' she said. 'Armor and weapons will be expensive. If you aim to change your class to Mage, you'll need a lot of money to buy a Magisteel Weapon and those things are pricey.' she explained. 'And my last gift is these books.' basically, Monster Encyclopedia and a book of Elemental Spells each person for Rank E Adventurers. These books are EXPENSIVE.

'We'll be going separate ways today. I'll go look for a place who'll welcome me as a former human evolving into...well...whatever I'll be in a few years.'

The other orphans were very reluctant to let Dita go alone, but she would be in danger if she goes into human cities with them. They all grew up together as siblings by bonds, and Dita was their sister, Leader and Teacher...who also had the bad luck of evolving into a monster which was why she was so strict regarding Magicules. So they reluctantly parted ways, hoping they would never meet and be forced to fight her.
