And another story to increase the size of my profile. Here we are again. Its been a while since I started a new story for RWBY, and this one was actually in the mental planning phase for a decently long time. It's a pretty big idea, all things considering, but I can't take credit for the idea in the first place. Someone drew an awesome little strip of some RWBY characters with their roles reversed, and when I saw that little strip myself is when I got the idea to make a fanfiction around it. I don't know who was the one to draw it, or else I would credit them here, but if you look up 'RWBY Role Reversal' You should be able to find it quickly on Images or Pinterest.

Just wanted to get that out of the way. I thought about using one of the panels as the cover art for this story, but I decided against it. I'll draw something for this myself whenever I find the time too.

Chapter 1- Things Are Not How They're Supposed To Be~

"Hm, brnm~" Yang hummed along with the song that was playing through her headset as she skipped along the sidewalk on her way to her favorite store to buy stuff at. Her head bobbed left and right along with the beat of the song, her pigtails whipping around with her head as she moved. Ember Celica - which were still in their developmental phase for the most part - has been built recently and she was in a good mood. She hasn't gotten the chance to test it yet, but when she gets back home to Patch she was going to make sure to punch her favorite punching bag, the one with the cute little black and yellow design on it.

She stopped and twirled on one foot before hearing the little bell at the top of the door jingle when she let herself into the store. "Hi, old man!" She chirped the moment she saw him at the counter, as usual.

"Hello to you too you little brat," The old man affectionately called after her.

Yang giggled as she made her way into the magazine section, flicking her finger across all of the magazines as she skipped while trying to find just the right one that she was looking for. When she finally found it, she gasped happily.

"Yes!" She exclaimed as she held the magazine up in the air victoriously, from over the aisle, her toned lean arms could be seen holding it. The old store owner chuckled when he saw it. "It really is out! The latest edition of Vacuon Power-Boxing! It has everything I need, workout regimes - especially those for awesome aspiring huntresses like myself - technique's, a variety of stances and the only thing it's missing is a signature from the man himself! Otherwise known as, Dad!" She giggled as she flipped through the magazine the moment she could. She couldn't help herself and definitely couldn't wait until she got home to tear it open and read its contents. Mom could bug her about it later if she wanted to, she just couldn't keep her excitement in!

Seeing the pictures of Dad, otherwise known as Taiyang Xiao Long to the general public, holding those poses and striking his usual goofy grin at the viewer always made her laugh. Despite his dorkiness though, he was always a good reference to go to for a good insight on his specifically designed fighting style which held strikes so powerful it could outright destroy the body of a Grimm if you apply and mediate just the right amount of aura to lead into a blow that's so explosive it might as well be an explosion.

"Ah," Yang hugged the magazine to her chest, wiping a tear of joy and sorrow out of her eye before it could slide down her face. "I miss you Dad." She whispered to herself. Her father had died a long time ago on his last mission as a huntsman, and this magazine was originally held back because of that fact. But after Uncle Qrow pulled some strings and flexed his status a bit - which was something he usually would never do for anyone - got it so that it would be released this week. She's been checking the shop every day since, and she was so happy to see that on the third day it had finally been found!

Eeeee! She was so excited!

"Hey!" A hand grabbed her shoulder all of a sudden. Yang sighed and turned to see who it was. When she saw a man wearing bright pink sunglasses she almost burst out laughing as soon as she saw them.

The man apparently knew what she was so amused about when he saw her snigger like that. His cheeks flushed for a moment before he coughed into his fist, getting back to business. "Listen, kid, get down on the ground, and let me tie you up. This is a robbery!"

"A robbery?" Yang raised an eyebrow. "What do you think you're doing trying to rob a store with glasses like those on? Man, talk about looking through rose-tinted lens am I right?"

"Ergh," The man wasn't so enthused by her pun. Meh, he'd just have to deal with it for now.

"I gotta say, you're looking a little fruity there buster, I mean, just look at that suit of yours! A total color clash, you're wearing a bright green tux with a yellow shirt and a red tie? Are you trying to cosplay as someone? Because if it's a clown, then you're doing a damn good job at it."

"Shut up!" The man whined. "Get down on the ground, now!"

A gun was pulled out on her a moment later. It was shoved into her face so violently that Yang had to whip her head back as to not get jabbed in the nose.

"Tch, tch, tch, so easily antagonized," Yang said as her hand shot up and grabbed the gun, and easily wrenched it out of the grown man's hand. "You ought to have better control over your temper if you're going to wear something like that everywhere. Oh, and by the way? Wrong place to try and rob…"

"Wuh?" The man widened his eyes when he saw purple eyes blink and turn red. "Oh shit-"

The man went flying out of the window after Yang landed a devastating punch to his stomach. She felt aura crack around her fist, so she knew that she didn't have to be gentle right then and there.

"What was that?" A feminine voice called out as Yang started making her way down the aisle.

When she turned around her fists clashed with each other, her hair bursting into flames for an instant as her semblance became active. It went out almost immediately since she didn't have any power stored up to supply it, but that didn't matter, her intimidation attempt was met by about seven pairs of eyes locking onto her and widening all at the same time.

The only one who didn't seem all that intimidated was the short girl with the pink and brown hair. Instead, she looked merely exhausted at the sight of her. She twirled her parasol above her head and clicked her tongue.

"Really, of course, it's a little girl that throws one of my men out a window. Why wouldn't it be? It wouldn't make sense if it was another grown man, no, of course, it won't. That'd go against fate itself."

"Erh," Yang eyed the woman up and down, or what could at least be mistaken for a full-grown woman. She was wearing a white trench coat that reached so low it was almost touching the ground and a bowler hat on top of her multicolored hair. Her eyes were equally as multi-colored, one brown and the other pink. What was the most confusing about her was her height, she was even shorter than she was!

"Who are you calling a little girl?" Yang snapped back. "You're even smaller than I am not you mention you look like you escaped a daycare. And I mean, have you seen your chest? It's even flatter than the feet of the guy I just threw out the window."

"And just like that, I want her gone." The girl said with a sigh. "C'mon boys, deal with that. I'll make sure the old man here doesn't-" Her eyes widened this time when she heard the alarm bell go off when the man pushed the panic button underneath his counter. "Really? You really did that? Damn it, man, you're lucky I don't kill or else your neck would find itself pretty open with this here blade,"

"It's not my fault you looked away from me," The old man pointed out, holding his hands up in surrender.

"Yeah, I guess it's not." The colorful woman sighed. "I'm supposed to be Neo the mastermind criminal and yet I made such a rookie mistake. Ah, whatever, I'll just focus on other things for now."

'Other things' was currently Yang as she started getting surrounded by the rest of the goons that Neo had at her beck and call. Yang let them surround her, a cocky smirk never leaving her face even as some of them drew out batons and other guns. In response, Yang simply took on a stance, a boxing stance, one that was taught to her by her father before he went missing.

"Come on boys, let's see how you try and gang up on an underaged girl. I'm curious to see how that'd work out for you."

The first one who had enough of her banter charged at her with a haymaker so telegraphed Yang could have sworn that she saw it coming last week and mistook it for the wind. She yawned as she parried the blow easily and grabbed the man by the collar of his equally undesirable colored suit and threw him out the window. She jumped right after him and stomped down on his chest before he could even catch his breath, and then punched his head so hard it bounced off of the street below. His aura cracked and expired instantly. Yang sighed as she cracked her neck and turned to face the others that were now trying to swarm her.

"Really? You're all attacking me like this even though I just one-shotted two of your guys? Man, no wonder you guys have to resort to crime to make it in the world," Yang said as she easily dodged and weaved through each and every one of their pitiful attacks. "You guys don't even know how to throw a proper punch, what hope did you think you had to try to rob a store that doesn't even have that much dust in it?"

Yang caught a wrist and twisted it painfully, the man she caught yelped and fell to one knee, yelling out again in pain when Yang elbowed him across the face, knocking him out instantly. "Seriously, this is just sad. I almost feel bad just thinking about making fun of you… almost."

Yang twisted out of the way of another wild haymaker and ducked through the legs of another guy that tried to grab her. She fell low and threw out a kick which swept the legs out from underneath one of the other dudes that tried to attack her. She rolled and slammed her heel into the guys face, shattering his glasses and knocking him out cold as well.

"Though I gotta say, it is funny how bad you guys are," Yang laughed as she got back up to her feet, crossing her arms as the other three guys finally had the sense to figure out that they were just a little out of their league here. "Awe, what's wrong boys? Are you all scared of an adorable little fifteen-year-old girl all of a sudden? How cute."

"Useless, every single one of you," Neo said as she stepped out onto the broken glass, twirling her parasol over her shoulder as she went into the street to confront her. "And you, I'll be willing to let your little roast back there slide if you let the rest of us go. I'm not exactly in the mood to fight a little girl right now, even if they are annoyingly spunky. Let's just call this a night, eh? Sound good to you?"

"Nope," Yang replied, popping the P at the end just to make her standing even more clear. "I know who you are, Neopolitan, you're one of Vale's most wanted and you've been crazy active lately."

"Ah, I see my reputation bites me in the ass once again-"

"What ass?"

"Funny, really, you're very funny," Neo said as she slowly clapped her hands. "Is that what you wanted to hear kid? You're funny, so now you can stop making silly jokes."

"I don't think you get me," Yang said as she started rolling her shoulders, getting ready for a more serious fight. "I am Yang Xiao Long, daughter of Taiyang Xiao Long and Raven Branwen. Do you know what that means? It means that I am from a family of huntsmen and huntresses, and boy, my mom would be so proud of me if I end up being the one to bring you in."

"Nice little monologue there, but if you don't mind, it's about time I high-tail it outta here," Neo said as she tapped on an imaginary wristwatch. "So if you don't mind…"

Yang's eyes widened when she shattered away into a million pieces of glass. She looked left and right, looking for the criminal. But she was nowhere to be seen. "An invisibility semblance?" She guessed, getting annoyed all of a sudden. "No wonder she's been so hard to catch, damn it, this is going to be harder than I thought."

She turned to the other three men that Neo had just abandoned, and her eyes shifted red for an instant. The three men yelped and turned tail, running away from her. Probably right toward the cops as well. Good, that means less work for her. Yang looked around, trying to find some way to keep track of the woman so that she wouldn't getaway. She failed to get an idea of where she was, but thankfully she didn't have to.

She heard metallic clanging above her on the building next to her. Yang looked to it and up to the fire escape. She didn't see anyone moving, but she could see the danky fire escape shake as if someone was climbing it. Yang's eyes narrowed in on it. It was risky, but it was a lead.

Activating Ember Celica for the first time, Yang cocked an explosive round into each and thought a silent prayer. "Please work, Ruby said it would work, so it has to work, right?" She asked nobody in particular. "Eh, whatever, test run number one is a go!"

Yang let out a cheery shriek as both of her gauntlets fired off in sync, she exploded into the air and maneuvered herself in such a way that she would be able to aim herself to the top of the room. Again, Ember Celica fired off its rounds and she fired off like a bullet toward the roof of the building.

"What the?" She heard a voice say once she landed at the top of it.

"Gotcha!" Yang exclaimed when she saw Neo's invisibility falter. She immediately dashed after her, throwing fist after fist which the woman narrowly dodged, clearing not expecting nor prepared for the barrage of attacks that suddenly came her way. She proved to be a better fighter than she looked, and she was more flexible than Yang even thought possible.

Neo bent backward over herself and Yang's powerful punch she assumed was going to land knocked her off balance. "Woah!" She yelped as she caught herself on her feet before she could fall over. She looked down and saw the hook of Neo's parasol wrapped around her ankle and before she could do anything about it she fell face-first on the ground with the wind knocked out of her.

"Nice job kid! Caught me off guard for a second there but I'm afraid that you're fifteen minutes of fame are about to be done!" Neo said as she stomped onto her back and then kicked her away. Hard. "Time for me to make my daring getaway!"

"Oof," Yang winced as she felt her aura work on the bruise that just appeared on her stomach. She cracked one eye open and looked up at the criminal as she rolled onto her side.

Then she saw it.

A strand of her beautiful, adorable, golden lock of hair.

Her eyes turned red.

"RARGH!" Yang roared as her body combusted into flame, forcing Neo to jump away lest she got burned.

"Woah there!" Neo exclaimed as she found herself suddenly at the edge of a building. "Come on now, a power semblance? This just isn't my night."

"You…" Yang glared at the criminal as she stood back up on her feet, eyes a blood-red color due to her anger soaring. "How dare you damage my hair!?"

"You're worried about your hair!?"

"THAT IS ALL THE MATTERS RIGHT NOW!"

Yang roared again as Ember Celica exploded out behind her to propel her forward once again, Neo's eyes widened as she realized that there was no escaping her fury. All she could do was hold her hands out futiley to try and lessen the blow, but Yang wasn't having it. Her fist blew right past her guard and struck her in the face.

Said face shattered into glass shards, and the shockwave that came after from Yang's powerful flame-imbued punch burned the very air that was left in her wake. A Bullhead whirled to life all of a sudden, and Yang looked up at the giant flying machine as it soared up above her, a spotlight trained on her position and a very familiar criminal standing beside a very big man whose face she couldn't make out in the shadows of the Bullhead itself. She could only see his eyes, which seemed to glow in the dark as he stared down at her.

"Just on time big man!" Neo exclaimed as she clapped him on the shoulder. "Now, I said that I am not one to shed blood but this guy? Oh, he's more than willing to end life here and there."

The very big gun turned out to be a minigun. A minigun that was definitely just revving up. Yang's eyes turned purple again and her semblance turned off as a realization came to her: She fucked up. Badly.

"Sionara blondey!"

Yang winced and covered herself with her arms in an effort to protect herself from the barrage of bullets that came her way. Instead, they never hit, instead, Yang found herself getting blown back by an explosion that knocked aside the Bullhead and threw off its aim. Yang felt the wind blow out of her lungs as she landed on her back several meters away from the edge of the building where she was standing.

What sounded like heels clicking behind her had Yang's hopes skyrocket and also plummet at the same time. She turned slowly to see a woman in a beautiful red dress with black hair, amber eyes, and a bow and arrow in hand yet strangely with no quiver to her name. The woman looked at her, and she scoffed. She looked back at the Bullhead and drew back her bow, the arrow that was within it glowing a bright orange color as she prepared to let it loose.

"And there's an actual huntress now!" Neo exclaimed as she ran to the pilot. "Evasive maneuvers! Evasive Maneuvers!"

The Bullhead veered off to the side just in time before the explosive arrow could strike it directly again. However, it exploded beside it all the same. The Bullhead spun and nearly struck another building, but the pilot controlling it was apparently a very good pilot, getting it back in the air comfortably, although with damage to its hull.

"Surrender," The huntress called out to the Bullhead. "Or else I will bring you down."

"She's letting loose another arrow!" Neo exclaimed, diving to the back of the Bullhead for cover.

The arrow was met in mid-air by a stream of flame, destroying it before it could explode. The man that Yang saw earlier pulled back into the ship before she could get a good look at him. The huntress scowled at him, and when she pulled the string of her bow back three arrows appeared instead of one. At the last second, before she loosed it, she twisted the string itself. The arrows were shot in a spiral formation before all going off in their own direction. The man within the Bullhead stepped into the center of the hull and threw his hands out to the side, a sphere of fire engulfed the entire Bullhead for an instant, acting as a shield to block all three arrows and nullifying the explosions that came after.

With a click of her tongue, the huntress dropped her hands and her bow burned away into ash instantly. In the next instant, the shuttle door to the Bullhead shut and it flew off at top speed.

When it was gone, Yang looked up into the huntress's eyes and she felt an excited grin stretch across her face.

"Oh my God, that was awesome!" She exclaimed, pushing herself back up to her feet and rushing up to the huntress, grabbing her hands as she did so. "You're Cinder Fall! The deputy of Beacon Academy! It's an honor to meet you-"

"You're under arrest," Cinder said as she took Yang's hands and bound them with handcuffs made out of black glass. "For being an uncertified huntress in training taking unauthorized action against a renowned dangerous criminal. You, are coming with me."

Yang's face paled.

"Eh!?

Of all the things Yang thought would happen today, sitting in an interrogation room in a precinct in Vale getting glared at by Cinder Fall herself was at the bottom of that list if it was even on there at all. She wasn't even being interrogated, she just sat there as Cinder stared at her and made calls with some people. Yang for one didn't know what to do, so she just opted to let her legs swing harmlessly off the chair as she waited for whatever was about to happen to her to finally happen.

"Someone will be coming to see you," Cinder said finally after about an hour of her just standing there looking at her and talking on the scroll.

"Is it my mom?" Yang asked.

"No."

Yang blinked her eyes. "Ruby? My older sister?"

"No."

Yang tilted her head, confused.

"Then who?"

"You'll see in a few minutes." Cinder said simply, putting it in a way as to not encourage any more backtalk.

Wow, it really is true when they say to never meet your heroes. Yang thought as she let her head fall into her arms on the table.

"Pick your head up."

With an exasperated sigh, Yang did as she was told. Man, this totally wasn't how she thought she was going to meet Cinder Fall. She knew that she was going to meet her one day anyway since she was going to go to Beacon, but she always thought that it'd be a teacher-student kind of thing, not… whatever the hell was going on now. It was just sad, and annoying in all honesty. She could already see herself telling Ruby about this, and she would get all excited at first, only for her to lose that excitement as Yang explained what it was really like meeting Cinder Fall herself for the first time. Boring and unexciting. The woman's personality was equivalent to that of a shoelace.

Minutes past and just as Cinder said, she did indeed receive a visitor. A tall, light blonde woman with pretty blue-green eyes. She also wore a white suit of some kind that was clearly designed for women, and when Yang couldn't believe how tall she was. There was also a sort of gem that seemed to be embedded into her forehead, only it wasn't a gem at all. A tattoo? Yang narrowed her eyes at it to try and see what exactly it was, but she looked down from the green mark when the woman sat down in the see across from her.

"You are Yang Xiao Long?" The woman asked, setting down a plate of lemon cupcakes in front of her.

Yang didn't hesitate to grab one and immediately swallow it.

"Yuh-huh," Yang said with a soft cough. "That's me."

"I see." The woman smiled. "I apologize for my assistant's personality, she doesn't do well with people, unfortunately, though that is something that we are working on if she means to take after me."

"Excuse me!?" Cinder exclaimed, much less calm than she was before suddenly.

"You are excused, Cinder," The woman said, sparing her but a glance. "I wish to talk with Yang in private for now, your presence is not required here."

"You-" Cinder looked like she was about to snap back but decided against it. Instead, she nodded her head and bowed herself out of the room. Once that happened, the woman who seemingly appeared in charge of Cinder intertwined her fingers with each other and smiled at her.

"Do you like the treats that much?" She asked.

"Yeah!" Yang chirped, much happier than she was before. "This is incredible, where did you get this from?"

"I didn't get it from anywhere, I baked it myself."

"You did!? When? How?"

"Before I came here to meet you," The woman chuckled. "I knew who you were by name, I taught your parents after all. Don't you know who I am?"

"Yeah!" Yang chirped. "You're Salem, the headmistress of Beacon Academy. And I am going to be one of your new students in a few years!"

Salem tilted her head, amused. "Is that so? Well, I certainly look forward to your attendance. Though, tell me, how badly do you want to attend my school?"

"Oh, so badly," Yang began. "I've been thinking about it ever since I decided to become a huntress! I'm currently at the top of my grade at Signal and my sister Ruby is already on her way to becoming a student at Beacon this year! It's just an amazing thought, my mom keeps saying that I should 'Do what I think will make me the strongest' and all that and I just know that Beacon will make me the strongest I can be!"

"Haha," Salem chuckled. "Forgive, it has been some time since I've seen anyone so excited to join my school. Well, what do you say to becoming a student in my school this year instead of waiting?"

Yang dropped the Lemon Cupcake that she was just about to bite into. Her purple eyes widened with shock.

"F-For realsies?"

Salem nodded her head.

"Yes, for realsies."

"EEEE!" Yang squealed. "Yes! Yes! Absolutely yes! Oh my gosh, this is the best day of my life! Can I hug you? Oh, let me hug you!"

"No thanks," Salem said as she stopped Yang from jumping across the table with a single hand. "I'm alright on that front. Well then, I suppose I should tell the good news to your mother, I assume that you need a way back to Patch soon anyhow, correct?"

"Yeah, sure, whatever," Yang was too excited to pay much attention to her at the moment. "Agh, this is so exciting! Thank you, a thousand times thank you. I can't believe this is happening!"

Salem leaned back with a short yawn. "Well, believe it. You will be attending my school along with your older sister and- Oh hello?" Salem stopped when someone answered the scroll. "Miss Branwen? Hi, this is Salem- and I know we haven't been on good terms lately, but trust me, this is important. Your daughter here is in the precinct and- oh, she hung up."

A red portal slashed into reality beside Yang, who looked at it with wide eyes and even more excitement.

Raven Branwen, with bags underneath her eyes, stepped through the portal. Why she slept in her huntress uniform even though she's been retired for over ten years was beyond anyone. She was a very scary woman, her hair was wild and unkempt, her eyes were a blood red, and her long sword was intimidating even to her twin brother. She was not a woman to be trifled with.

"Mommy!" Yang screamed as she lunged at her, wrapping her arms around her and hugging her tightly.

"Brat," Raven affectionately rubbed the top of her head. "I am so proud of you, whatever you did to end up here, keep doing it. I promise I'll always bail you out."

"Heh heh, thanks, mom."

"I don't mean to interrupt this touching moment," Salem said gently. "But Miss Branwen, are you okay with Yang coming to Beacon early?"

"How early?" Raven asked with a yawn.

"About this year or so."

"Already?" Raven looked down at her daughter. "You surprise me every day, brat. Good job." Yang preened at the compliment. "Sure, she has my permission. Can we go now? I have a few hours of sleep to catch up on and I don't want to fall behind on it."

"Of course," Salem chuckled. "I'll send you the application in the morning. You two can fill it out together if you wish."

"Yeah, yeah, great, c'mon Brat. It's time to go home."

"Sure," Yang yawned, still attached to Raven's side, she looked up at her. "By the way, I totally kicked Neo's ass today. She ran away screaming and panicking and everything. Oh, and also, Ember Celica works!"

"You can tell me all about it when I am in a caring mood," Raven said as she slashed her sword through the air, opening yet another portal. "Right now I am too tired, you know not to tell me stories when I am tired. Remember the last time you tried that?"

Yang shuddered at the memory.

"I thought so."

"Before you leave," Salem called out before Raven and Yang could depart. "Your other daughter, Ruby, is also in the precinct. You might also want to pick her up. She's not in trouble or anything, but her car appears to still be on the other side of the city at the moment."

Raven sighed.

"You kids really don't want me to sleep tonight, do you?"

And there we have it, a Pilot chapter for this story. I am going to continue this but for now, this is all you are getting. I have a lot of work to do at, well, work. And most of the time I am probably not going to get the chance to write this story so instead of rushing it out and making lots of mistakes, I am instead going to get this pilot out there, see how it does with you guys, and then get back to it when I have a lot more free time.

Tell me what you think of the idea and how I am doing so far. Any feedback will be awesome and very much appreciated.

Now, for something a little special.

"What did you do?"

"Ah… look, I wanted to mess with-"

"Don't. You have a child to take care of now brother? You can't do this sort of thing, we'll speak later, still, how?

"I changed one thing. Only one!"

"WHAT did you do brother, what did you change."

"Look, look, I know this all seems crazy. But let's just see how this all turns out. Remember what you always used to say? Everything happens for a reason?"

"Yes, to HUMAN'S."

"Yeah well, this happened for a reason. Let's just leave it at that for now, and I am actually quite curious to watch what happens. It's not like we can fix this anyway, this isn't our realm, it's another one."

"And just when I think you've already found every way to irritate me. Fine. Since Fate is not making an issue of it, then neither shall I."
