Synopsis:
She was happiness. She was joy. A charming little girl with who would always see the positive side of things and try to find the good in people's heart. . . That girl was me, at some point. An innocent soul with a pure heart along with the mindset where everyone would get their happily ever after, prince charming and everything like in most fairy tales. . .
But this story is not one of those.
There is no prince charming or a knight in shining armour, but I can guarantee you that there will be dragons with flames, demons from many kinds, creatures from legends, and battles like no other.
But the greatest fight of all is. . . The conflict within the heart with weapons that many know as. . .
Emotions. . .
I am Miyuki Urameshi. The girl who lost her spark, but ended up coming back as the whole damn fire.

After we managed to get far away from that cursed river we decided to stop at the bottom of a huge tree and take care of ourselves. Ruby was healing Kuwabara's injuries at the moment while I just finished with my brother's claw marks that were on his side.
"Thanks." Yusuke thanked as he turned to look at me with a small smile on his face. I didn't reply and just nodded my head mutely. Then I turned to an exhausted looking Hiei who had a few scratches here and there. As much as I dislike his nasty attitude, he is a valid member of the team and we need his strength and brains. With a bitter sigh and walk up to him. Once I got close to him I crouched down to his level and with a small swift hand motion, I covered both my hands with those famous water gloves. I was about to touch the demon's cheeks, but one of my wrists got caught by Hiei's hand.
"What do you want woman?" Hiei asked with his usual rudeness as his grip went a little tight. Too tight to my liking.
"Let go." I demanded in a calm manner not wanting to start a fight here. "I am trying to heal you."
"Hn." He huffed before freeing my hand and turn his head away, closing his eyes in the process. "I don't need healing." The answer made me scoff at him as I tried again to reach him.
"Hold still." I told him sternly as I almost caught his face, but he turned to look at me with an annoyed expression on his face.
"I told you I don't need it." He glared at me stubbornly. I moved the water away from my left hand and smacked down Hiei on the head, just like I would do to Yusuke when I need to keep him in line. Moron, just as stubborn and hot-headed as my so called sibling. "What was that for?!" Demanded the Almighty Shadow Lord in frustration as he rubbed the top of his head.
"Look, just shut your face and let me help you!" I told him with a snappy tone. "Or should I remind you Three-eye about the fact that you almost drowned with our dear Fox-face over there? " I sassed at him. My ears caught the others snickering behind my back while my eyes focused on the stubborn demon boy. I see him want to protest or say something to save himself from the embarrassment, but for once no insult or voice came from his mouth and just closed his lips shut while a small sweat drop appeared on the side of his face, looking away with a pout, and feeling totally defeated. "Hn, thank you for your cooperation." I told him in a huff as the water soon flew back to my left hand and I touched each side of the demon's face. The water soon began to glow bright blue while turning cold. I feel Hiei tensed up a little, but within a second he relaxed and leaned into my touch. I felt a little shocked by his sudden gesture, but I shook it off.
He is just tired like all of us. After finishing with my work I sat down on the grass and took a deep breath. I felt like crap. My muscles are screaming in pain while it was also shaking like a dry leaf.
"It's getting late." My favourite redheaded demon boy stated. "Perhaps we should stay here for the night." I hear Kurama suggest it to us.
"But wouldn't that be dangerous?" Kuwabara asked, sounding a little distressed.
"Yeah, fox boy. " My brother agreed. "After swimming with a bunch of those reptiles like those guys, who knew what kind of freaks are we going to face next."
"Still, we need rest, so we can restore some energy." I pointed out as I slowly got up from the ground while forcing back a yawn.
"True." Ruby agreed before letting out a huge yawn. "Let's lit up some fire."
And that's what we did. However, while Kuwabara stood on guard and Yusuke, Shuichi and Hiei rested, my water-bender partner and I collected a few twigs and other wooden material and dried up grass for the campfire. . When we had enough, Ruby attempted to lit it up, by hitting two rocks against each other, so that would create some sparks, and then it would start up the fire. However, the method didn't work in her favour. I was about to help her, but Shuichi beat me to it.
"Need any help?" My redheaded friend asked with a warm and kind tone, making Ruby turn her attention to him.
"Y-yes please." Replied Ruby a little flustered as a small hint of pink on her cheeks. I rose an eyebrow at that but I shrugged it off and just let the two be.
"Well, I still don't like the idea of staying in one place. "I hear Kazuma complain while I plopped down on under the tree where the Tree King is currently resting on. "I don't even know how am I gonna sleep like this?!"
"Are you done being dumb yet. . . ?" I tiredly commented as a small yawn slipped through my lips. "It's infecting my aura."
"Heey. . ." Carrot Top whine like a little child.
"Don't mind her, she acts mean when she is sleepy and cranky." I hear my brother dearest joke with a small light laugh.
"Hmpf." I rolled my eyes. "I am not mean, I'm just brutally honest." I then crossed my arms over my chest and closed my eyes. "Not my fault you that the truth can hurt sometimes."
"Geez, when are you gonna turn off your sassy pants attitude?" Yusuke asked dryly. At that, I 'booped' my nose with my right index finger. I looked at the other's surprised, dumbfounded, or confused faces.
"What?" I asked innocently. "I was trying to turn it off for you, but looks like I don't know where my 'off' button is." I pointed out blankly. A small pause took over the, but it was soon broken by Ruby's loud giggles. Then soon Rosehead joined her, then my brother who was hysterical.
"What's this? Did Miyu just made a joke?" Yusuke asked while gasping dramatically.
"Tsk, at least I am funny." I retorted dully.
"And the sarcasm is back." My brother sighed, pretending to be sad.
"Just like you from the dead." I replied bluntly in a small voice, but either way he heard it.
"OKAY, YOU LITTLE PIPSQUEAK YOU CAN CUT IT OUT NOW!" Yusuke got hit by the nerve as he got up from the ground and raised one of his fists up, probably threatening me to beat the shit out of me. After Ruby and Kurama managed to somehow calm down the anger issue and later on everyone began to fell asleep one by one. I was in fact awfully tired, but despite that, I stayed up for a long while, not daring to get a wink because there might be a chance that I will face that psychopath again.
I feel the warm breeze gently brush against the edge of my skin as it passed through me and peacefully quiet woods. Its sounds were like music to my ears. Like a lullaby. I let my eyes closed as I feel completely light and relaxed. . .
I love moments like these. . . In nature, it's just mesmerizing and beautiful. It helps me calm my mind. Maybe I should visit those old ladies more often for this besides training. . .
My eyes snapped open and my fist flew toward the presence that was suddenly beside me. My fist hit the wooden surface, leaving a crack mark in the process. What? Where was that presence and- OUCH! I clung onto my fist and brought it close to my chest. Stupid! That hurt as hell. But how did I even manage to hit that hard?
"Hn. Your reflexes are still slow." A familiar arrogant voice hummed in front of me. I just scoffed and leaned my back onto the trunk with my arms crossed and my head turned from the Shadow Jerk. After like a good minute or so I feel Hiei sitting right next to me. I turned my gaze at him while arching an eyebrow at the sudden change of heart. I mean, he is just like me. Keep distances from others. I almost dozed off, but I fought it back with all my might. "You need rest." He stated bluntly.
"You need a normal attitude." I fired back as I fought back the yawn this time. Oh, great just more problems to add on my list.
"Hmpf." He scoffed and from then on we stayed silent. However, instead of being awkward as I expected, it felt quiet. . . nice. . . and calming. . . I didn't look at the Fire Demon beside me, but I didn't comply either about it. In fact. . . It helped me feel a bit more at ease and safe. . .
'Oh, pinch yourself Miyuki, you're being ridiculous. . . .' My thought came out weakly as the sleepiness slowly began to take over me. I suddenly hit something soft, and I hear that thing glare at me. I was about to get up from it, but instead, I accidentally fell asleep.
I felt something heavy land on my shoulder. I looked down at the Little Detective and glare at her. However, I feel my expression lighten up and go all soft when my eyes caught the peaceful expression that this human girl is holding on her face. I wanted to just look away and curse in my mind, but for some reason, I couldn't do it. I felt completely frozen on the spot, yet this woman's ice power didn't even get me like last time, but then why am I in this trance.
What does this fragile human creature possesses that makes my heart go for a race, yet make me feel calm like my Hiruseki Stone I once held in my possession?
What kind of magic is this?
My face heats up for some reason while my core was out of control, struggling between my ribcage. . .But then I shook myself awake mentally and let out a small huff. I should probably kick myself for this sign of weakness in the morning. Just as I was about to move away from the Little Detective, she suddenly lifted her head from my shoulder and began to lean in the other direction. If it wasn't for my reflexes, that fool would have fallen on her face. I caught her before she can hit the grass. Stupid humans.
She felt so light, like a feather. I somehow lifted her up and was about to just place her on the ground, but. . . It wouldn't be comfortable for her. Then I did something I never thought I would ever do, let alone for another living being.
I moved her body in a more comfortable position, in that way her head can rest onto my lap.
What am I doing? What is wrong with me?
Then what happens next was beyond unimaginable. I don't know what came over my body, but for some strange reason, my hand moved on it's own toward the Little Detective's face and brushed away her bangs so that my eyes can have a better view of this human woman's features. They touched the skin's surface slightly, so boldly. . . tenderly. . .and carefully . . .
Bad move. . . or not?
As soon as I did that, the Little Detective turned her body away from me as she subconsciously placed her hand onto my knee and snuggle up in her sleep like it was a pillow, with a peaceful smile on her lips that appeared out of nowhere, and with all honestly, it took me off guard.
That damn smile again. . . . Different yet it left me with the same warm feeling that I experienced back in Maze Castle. I feel my cheeks began to burn again, as I scanned every inch of my rival's features. I feel myself being trapped. . . captured by that calm, young and . . .angelic looking face of hers. . .
What's this nonsense? Why do I feel this way. . . ?
And before I can even continue with my rant of nothingness. . . I suddenly found myself slowly drifting off with her surprisingly calming aura that had been surrounding me from the very start. I tried my very best to fight back the tiredness, but I eventually lost myself to it and just. . . give in to this. . . weird. . . calm and peaceful feeling. . .
"What's this?!" The cold-hearted Zankoku suddenly exclaimed with a tone that is filled up with frustration and rage. "How in the world did she managed to lock me out of her dream. . . ?" He thoughtfully murmured to himself as he pulled away from his crystal and placed his chin on top of his hand palm. "How. . . ?"
"Is something wrong father?" Asked his daughter in the blue uniform, hesitant, ripping the powerful sorcerer from his train of thoughts. His ice-cold orbs soon found the magenta ones who suddenly cowered back a little in fear of upsetting her power-hungry ruler, and father.
"Shouldn't you be at your training with your sister, Kata?" He questioned smoothly yet with an early calm and deadly tone. The voice made the woman took a hard swallow, but her nervousness was masked perfectly under that scar mask. "Or you want to bring dishonour to our family name like that Suzaku?" The father figure asked with a dangerously low growl, making his daughter almost reach for her sharp fans with blades. After a few seconds of calming breaths, Kata regained her composure.
"I just wanted to make sure if everything is alright with you. . . father. . ." The woman quickly answered only to earn a small snarl from her father.
"Stop fooling around, child!" The sorcerer shouted angrily. Kata flinched at her emperor because he has rarely raised his voice on anyone. However, his anger soon calmed down. Just a little." Looks like playtime is over, and so is my patience." He murmured to himself, leaving a small sigh behind as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Go, give the call to Mara, and prepare the Golems for tomorrow morning." Zankoku ordered before turning around and dramatically flip his royal blue cape so he won't trip on his way back to his seat, the golden throne. "You two will go after these intruders immediately and bring them to my sight. Understood?"
There was a small moment of intense silence, but the warrior woman's words were caught up in her throat for that moment. Taking another hard swallow Kata finally answered.
"Y-yes father. . ." Kata responded in a soft, barely audible voice. Like a mouse squeak, it was just that small.
"Good. . ." The almighty Zankoku nodded as his smooth and calm voice sent shivers down his daughter's spine. A sign of fear. After bowing her head elegantly she left the throne room. Zankoku let out a small growl as he looked at his staff's crystal ball. "I don't know who are they, but I will defeat these rats. I will stomp on them with my feet and crush them flat like little cockroaches." Zankoku fantasized wickedly as his ice-blue orbs were trembling with determination. "If I managed to wipe out those benders from the living then I will be able to do the same with this pathetic excuse of a team." Then he took a deep breath, trying to calm down his nerves as horrible memories began to flash in his mind. "I lost my battle once to that white bird. I won't let that failure happen. Never again. . ."
