I awake in a bed, in what seems to be a house. Sitting up I notice an old man in ceremonial robes.
"Ahhh Takeshi-kun you're awake" the man said
"Where am I" I ask, wondering if the entire game thing was a dream. 'I hope it's a dream'
The man chuckles and responds "We are in the great Konohagakure no Sato, the village hidden in the leaves, founded by your ancestors Takeshi-kun"
'I guess it was no dream… I am Senju Takeshi'. I look up and see an old dude in a funny hat. The gears in my head start to click and I smile "So you must be the Hokage then?"
The man chuckles again and replies "Indeed I am"
Then I realize, most of the Senju are gone. "How did I get here?"
The Hiruzen Sarutobi speaks "That fall must have done some damage to your brain, your Aunt Tsunade brought you here"
'So Tsunade is my Aunt eh? Cool' "Where is she now?"
The old man's smile dropped as he said "I'm afraid she left you here to go and travel"
This didn't sound like the Tsunade I knew from Naruto Cannon "Why?"
"She never gave me a reason Takeshi-kun" the old man said, a look of disappointment on his face.
"Oh, so she abandoned me" I say, thinking aloud as I start shuffling out of what appeared to be a hospital bed "I'm going to need to go for a walk, am I allowed to leave?"
The man smiled "I don't see why not, you do need to familiarize yourself with Konoha. After all you are going to become a ninja, and a fine one at that"

'Starting to manipulate me already old man? Not that I would blame you, if a Senju just waltzed into your hands what else would you do but conscript the Senju into your military force'
"Though I will be coming with you Takeshi-kun" the old man said as I slipped on my shoes.
We walked out of the now apparent hospital where I got my first achievements… and quest.

People all around me were smiling and waving, this was awkward, having the entire street watch you, now I can semi understand by Sasuke kept to himself, but maybe that was because I was with the Hokage. Soon I found myself in front of the famous Ichiraku Ramen.

I looked up towards the Hokage. "Can we go there old man?" I say before putting my hands over my mouth in shame, "Sorry Hokage-sama, I didn't mean to say that?"
He chuckled. "Don't worry about it Takeshi-kun, call me what you want"
I sigh in relief as the old man and I both walked into the ramen store where we were greeted by the ramen chef, Teuchi.
"Welcome to Ichikaru Ramen! Good to see you Hokage-sama, and you brought a guest" an old man said
"Yes I have, his name's Senju Takeshi"
'I'm not a little kid, I can speak for myself old man'
"Well it's been a while since I've seen a Senju, what would you like little one" Teuchi asks with a smile. 'What a loveable man'
"I don't known oji-san, what do you recommend" I find myself saying after a minute of staring at the menu.
"Hmmm I think it's best to start off with a Miso Ramen"
"I'll take than then!" I shout eager to taste the legendary Ichikaru Ramen.
The old man smiles as the Hokage orders a pork ramen. Then he walks away leaving me and the Hokage.
"So Takeshi-kun you know that you will be going into the Ninja Academy soon, and you are a bit behind, you may need to catch up in your spare time."
'With the Gamer ability, ill definitely be a prodigy, and the Natural Talent Perk will put me above my peers in no time, I'll be the next Uchiha Itachi, minus the clan killing part. Lightning affinity is good for piercing, using a weapon, specifically a pointed weapon would be nice. Though Natural Talent will only take me so far, I will need to get access to summons and sage mode later… but that's wayyy down the line. Now I should just focus on getting good grades at the academy'
"Cool, after this can I get some Kunai and Shuriken to practice with? I'm sure that the Senju have some Taijutsu styles stored away for a rainy day"
"Of course, and I believe you are correct, though I haven't gone through the Senju vault myself" Hiruzen said before smiling as the ramen appeared before us.
"Is there a Senju Armory as well? It would be useful to have access to that as well" I say before grabbing my chopsticks (thank god I knew how to use them in my previous life) and shouted "IDEKIMAS!" before indulging in the food of the gods.
"There is one, of course you would have access to it, but it may be very dusty, nobody has entered that place in years" The old man said in between slurps.
After that feast Hiruzen and I paid for our food before walking away, I was curious on who would be in my academy class so I asked the old man "Who's gonna be in my class, and what year am I going into?"
"Well Takeshi-kun, there is a Hyuuga boy named Neji in your class, he is quite the genius. And as for your year level you will be graduating next year."
'Interesting, I'm in Neji's class that means Tenten and Rock Lee as well. Its good because it gives me a whole year to train for the upcoming chunin exams'
Soon Hiruzen and I made our way into the weapons store where he ordered me 10x Kunai and 20x Shuriken. As he was sorting the payment I was off gawking at the swords on display.

Then I heard a voice behind me "Amazing aren't they?"
I jumped and heard girlish giggles behind me.
I turned around to see a bun haired girl, wearing a pink Chinese top. "Who are you?" I ask
"Names Tenten, Konoha's weapons mistress"
I smiled and replied "Senju Takeshi, aspiring ninja"
Tenten's jaw dropped "S-S-Senju?"
"Yeah?" I ask, rather surprised by her reaction
"Do you know Tsunade!" she asked with stars in her eyes
Of course I knew Tsunade, she was the one who abandoned me here after all, wait why am I upset by this? "Yeah I kinda know her"
Tenten was mad fangirling over Tsunade "Can you introduce me pleeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaase"
I smile "whenever she comes back to the village I will, sound alright?"
Tenten then gave me a bone crushing hug.

"Hey Hey HEY! You're crushing my ribs" I say attempting to breathe, note that I was failing.
She lets me breathe and steps back "Sorry, I get excited when ninja stuff comes my way"
I chuckle "It's okay"
"So what kind of ninja do you wanna be Mr Senju?"
"Not too sure at the moment, maybe a jack of all trades or a ninjutsu specialist, who knows"
"Well you're gonna have to beat me at becoming a kenjutsu master, or a weapons master at that, I already know how to use swords and all kinds of weapons!"
I chuckle. "Hai Hai, I'll let you know when I'm ready to challenge you"
Out of the corner of my eye I see the Hokage walk to the exit of the shop.
"Got to go… Ja Ne" I say while waving at Tenten.
We walk to the Senju compound getting many smiles along the way. The place was rather big.

The place isn't that big, it's just that I'm really small. Roughly the size of a small apartment building with multiple stories above and below ground. Sleeping area is located on the top most floor, above the kitchen, which is above the ground floor. Bellow the ground floor is the Vault and bellow that is the armory.
Weird thing about the armory, is that there is only one noticeable item in there. A spear.

I exit the armory and head down to the vault… it turns out that I can't learn ninjutsu unless I graduate the academy or complete quests, such a pain.

'The Tree one is for wood style users… and the snake one while appealing doesn't look too Konoha friendly after the defection of Orochimaru. Plus grappling is very useful.

I walk the streets of the leaf, everyone is smiling. Then I see a boy in a pure orange jumpsuit 'Bingo, that's him'
I run up to the boy and ask him "Yo! You're going to the ninja academy right?"

The boy smiles in a foxy way "Of course, I'm going to become the next Hokage ya know!"
"Say what's your name… Next Hokage?"
"Uzumaki Naruto, Believe it!"
I chuckle 'I don't remember Naruto being this funny'
"What's your name, ya know?"
"Oh, its Senju Takeshi" I say with a smile
"WOOOOOW a SENJU! No way you must have crazy jutsus then?"
I laugh "I wish, I don't even know how to use chakra yet"
"That's easy, you just have to think about it ya know?"
I stop "If I can jump up to that store roof, you owe me lunch?"
"Nah, lets race to the academy, loser has to pay for lunch!" Naruto says, setting the terms.
"GO!" He yells as I channel chakra into my feel, thinking about it like Naruto said.
'Now jump!' I will myself. I rocket off the ground and land on top of the building, higher than I imagined 'I love chakra'
I start to run across the rooftops of Konoha trailing behind my orange clad friend. I then trip attempting to jump across an alleyway 'fugg'
I face plant into the latter across the alleyway, unconsciously I latched onto the ladder

I climb up the ladder and carry on, following the orange trail to the academy. Eventually I arrive at the place. Well the building in front of the place.

I land on the ground not suffering any injuries.

I extend my fist and ask "Friends?"

We walked into the academy where I was pulled aside by a teacher "Senju Takeshi?"
"Yeah that's me?"
"Come with me, you're in a different class than it"
"Okay one second… Naruto see you at lunch?"
"Believe it!" he says as I walk away with the chunin teacher.
We walk in silence to my class room, we open the door and I see kids staring at me, for once I become nervous.
"Everybody this is your new class mate" the chunin says as I prepare to introduce myself.
"Hey, I'm Senju Takeshi" that got some murmurs going around the class.
"I like training, any type of food and hugs"
"I don't like traitors and those who abandon their family and those who persecute based on race, social standing, sex or religion"
"I dream to become… well ill save that for later" I say with a straight face before looking around the class for a place to sit.
The class erupted into an applause as I looked around, I spoted Tenten, Lee, Neji, KURAMA YAKUMO!? Isn't she too young, well this isn't cannon so anything's possible and there is another boy who stands out, tanned skin and brown hair, green eyes and a nasty scar going down the right side of his face, specifically the cheek. I look at his shirt, it has the Sarutobi clan emblem on it and he has a free seat next to him. I walk over and sit down.
"Hey" I say with a small smile.
"You're my rival now Senju" he retorts with a smirk.

"Well shouldn't rivals know each other's names" I reply with a smirk of my own. 'Cool flash reference there'
"Sarutobi Ikki"
"Nice to meet you Ikki-san"
"Save me the pleasantries, I am in need of someone that will challenge me ninjutsu wise, and you have presented yourself to me"
I chuckle. "Hai Hai"
"Okay class, we will be doing some physical testing to determine rankings, let's go outside"
'Great, a test, I just wanted to do some learning about history' I think as we make our way down to the training ground
"Okay, we will be doing a race around the grounds, follow the fences"

"Ready!" the teacher said as we all readied ourselves
"GO!" every single student bolts ahead of me as I focus chakra into my legs.
I rocket off and find myself quickly catching up to the group, I then surpass the civilian bunch.
'Nobody is using chakra, easy'
I soon overtake the rest of the group and finish in first place.

I didn't feel very prideful, these bozos forgot that there was no cheating in the ninja world, everything was fair play. 'Wait did he say that Yakumo knew how to use Chakra?'
I look at the field and see Yakumo at the very end of the running line.
"Sensei, how is Yakumo a prodigy?
"Well, as you can see she does not have the physical strength to be a taijutsu prodigy, neither the chakra reserves to be a ninjutsu one. However she inherited the Kurama Clan's Kekkai Genkai and has masterful control over her charka at such a young age"
"So a genjutsu prodigy then… but how come you know this sensei?"
"Well I too am a part of the Kurama Clan, the branch family, but still apart of the clan… about three years ago she couldn't do anything physical by herself, but suddenly that changed, one night lightning stuck the clan compound and the next morning she changed, started to get physically stronger too"
"I'm glad that she is getting better"
"Yeah… some of the clan don't feel that way, they want to control her"
"People are always seeking to control… why can't everyone just be free?" I find myself muttering.
The rest of the kids came in, Neji and Ikki came tied in second after they realized that I was using chakra, so they both decided to use it too.
"Okay next thing is Taijutsu Spars, let's see hmmmm Neji vs Takeshi"
'fugg, I remember a lot of things about Naruto, and I know that facing a Hyuuga in taijutsu is suicide'
I gulp as I enter the ring with the genuis.
"Begin!" the teacher shouts.
I stand my ground not trying to show fear as Neji activates his Byakugan.
Automatically my body shifts into a taijutsu stance.

'That's good, actually my style is perfect for this, restraining opponents using grappling, which limits his ability to use Juuken.
The battle starts as Neji leaps at me, sticking his palm out.
I slip inside his guard and attempt to grab his arm, I my hand just can't grasp his shirt and I end up in an awkward position.
Quickly I adjust to grab his shirt and try to make something out of this when I feel a jab to my shoulder.
'Damn that hurts… how does HP work in this game?'

'Fuck it, not losing this' I think as I use my close my arm's close proximity with Neji's head to my advantage. I thrust my elbow towards his temple. It makes contact.

I preform a move that I have 'learnt' from the scroll and float around Neji, locking my arms around his neck.
I feel a sudden strength rip my arms away from his head.
'He's still hanging on'
I let go of my hold and jump back, but I realize the mistake I have made, I gave him space. "I Quit"
"Why" the chunin teacher asks.
"I had him in a clinch, but I decided to back away, giving him space and the advantage, I knew that he wouldn't let me in so easily" I explain as the teacher nods.
The next spar was called as Neji glared at me from across the ring
The teacher was pre-occupied with the rest of the taijutsu spars so I decided to go off on my own tangent, 'the only chakra control exercise I know is the tree climbing and water walking… Well I better start off with tree climbing.'
I walk up to a tree and a quest appears.

I channel a layer of chakra to my feet 'not even a day of chakra training and I'm starting to get a hang of it, well this kind of is the tutorial aspect of this game anyways'
I start to run up the tree and make it up about three meters before slipping of, somehow I do a backflip and land on my feet.

'hmmmm so I use 1 Chakra point per climb? Interesting… almost forgot that I need a kunai to mark my progresses
I take a kunai out of my holster and begin to run up the tree with my chakra flowing. This time I reach 4 meters before marking my highest point.

I repeated this process until I started to gather attention, after about 10 tries I reached 13 meters.

'One last time' I think as I run up the tree, past one mark, two, three, four, past all of my marks to the top of the tree!
'Fuck yes!'

'I'd better get down then'. I jump off the top of the tree and land on the floor with another backflip 'Hmmmm must be like Chakra fatigue, the more I use chakra the more I loose'

I smiled and replied "I say ninjas walking up walls, so I figured that I could walk up this tree"
"hhmmmm I see, I think we do have a genuis here in the making"

The class had been dismissed for about 5 minutes, I was scouting out the area for Naruto
'Oh yeah he's wearing orange, this is gonna be easy'
I instantly spot him talking to some person resting by a tree, well more like shouting. I quickly make my way there to bail the kid out.
As I get closer I notice that this boy is none other than Sasuke Uchiha.
"Heyyy Naruto" I call out earning the attention of both boys
"Oh hey there Takeshi! Just telling Teme over here that I'm going to beat him and become Hokage"
I chuckled "Well you know you have to eat food to become Hokage… anyways who's this poor bugger that you're screaming at?"
"Uchiha Sasuke" he said in an emo tone.
'Didn't expect to meet him this early' I think eying the boy. "Senju Takeshi, nice to meet you"
I can see Sasuke's eyes widen a fraction before they harden again.
"Hn"

So that's the re-write chapter 1, thoughts?
I didnt want to give Takeshi Wood Style... well not this early anyways. And i wanted to focus on his development into a genuis/prodigy before he became a genin. I want to be more detailed and illustrate the frustration that will come from him being a genuis, like Uchiha Itachi, not just on him but those around him... I also wanted to add a new suprise to the story, and I feel that it would be a rare add in as i havent seen many authors do it before.
You can excpect a new arc before the genin exam as well as an arc before Naruto's graduation. As well as more character development and exploration into the untouched/rarely touched areas of Naruto.
Anways i hoped you enjoyed the first re:write of Game of Swords
