Harmione's Charmed Life II
Chapter 1
Rook and I were able to safely retrieve the diamond for Magistrate Ova. There was a clan of some small bug like aliens guarding it. Turns out that just by being nice to them, you can become one with them. They took Rook and I to the diamond and gladly passed it over to me. Magistrate Ova said it's my faith and kindness I put forth in creatures that has gotten me this far, it was the perfect last assignment for me. They didn't like Rook very much because he shot at them before I had time to think when we got there. They startled him. The poor little guys didn't know what to do. They stayed close to me the entire time.
"I said I was sorry." Rook told them. They just hissed and continued to stay close to me. Rook didn't make a very good first impression. I laughed and made jokes about him the whole way home. When I received my Plumber's badge I immediately called Dad.
"Let me see it!" Dad shouted as I video called him. I smiled and held it up. Dad smiled back.
"I'm so proud of you baby girl."
"Thanks Dad."
"Hey Hope!" Dad yelled and turned away from the screen. "Come here Harmione got her Plumber's badge!"
Mom walked into frame and smiled.
"Awww, that's great honey."
"When will we see it in person?" Dad asked.
"Soon...I'm on my way home now."
"Harmione, I can't tell you how proud I am of you and all that you done, after all you've been through." Mom said after.
"It was all thanks to you two why I made it this far...Rock on Mom and Dad."
Mom smiled and made kissy noises at the camera.
"We love you baby."
"I love you guys too."
"See you at home Har." Dad replied.
"See you."
Dad kissed his fingers and touched the screen. I did the same gesture and just held my hand up for the longest time. A tear escaped the corner of my eye and ran down my cheek. The video call ended and I made a fist with my hand. I looked up smiling brightly but crying at the same time. When my ship landed, I had to take a bus back to Bellwood. The Earth's air and it's beautiful trees meant everything to me when I saw them. I stopped at Mr. Smoothy. Deanna was there. She quickly got out of her car and ran over to me screaming. She gave me the biggest hug of life I had ever received. I held onto her tightly and just rocked her back and forth.
"Harmione!" She screamed. "I'm so happy to see you!"
"I'm happy to see you too Dee." I choked out. The embrace was so tight I could hardly talk. Deanna had blonde hair now, and had a gained a few pounds but she was still just a beautiful and just as amazingly wonderful as ever. The hug lasted the rest of my natural born life. She kissed the side of my cheek and just rocked me back and forth and gave me a squeeze.
"Do your parents know, you're home yet?"
"Not yet."
"Then let's go chickadee!"
She pulled me over to her car. We got in and put on a pair of sunglasses. We cruised down the road listening and singing to music at the top of our lungs. I was so happy to be home. I was happy to be with her.
"How's college?"
"Okay...I got 3 more years left of general studies before I move on to the bigger campus."
"Nursing huh?"
"Girl, yeah!" She exclaimed and turned down the radio. "That's where the money's at, and I think it could be really fun."
"Anything that could be really fun, normally turns out that way for you."
"You know it, so since you're back early are you going to Kim's wedding?"
"I guess so...I thought Kim would have been married by now?"
"Her dad wanted her to wait until she started college...something about cheaper room and board for college couples or something."
"I see...yeah I'll go...I'll probably go with Charlie."
"Ooo hon, is he gonna be so happy to see you...he's moped around for the last three months."
"Awww...my poor Charlie."
"Poor Charlie, poor me!"
I laughed.
"Who do you think he was calling 24/7, oh Dee, I just miss her, I can't sleep without her, what if she forgets me, oh it's really bad tonight I miss her so much." Deanna laughed. "He was like a little lost puppy or something."
"Awww...well he wasn't the only one...I missed him a lot too...it was hard."
"Well now you can pick back up as if nothing ever happened."
"Yeah."
Deanna pulled up to my driveway. My house was just as I left it. I missed it so much. Deanna honked her horn. The front door opened as I got out of the car rolling my suitcase behind me. Jesse ran out and hugged me.
"Harmione!"
"Hey Jesse!"
Me, Deanna and Jesse went in the house and Justice ran up to me in a soccer uniform. They were both getting taller, and their voices were starting to change.
"Hey Justice, nice uniform."
"Thanks."
He side hugged me and I kissed the top of his head.
"Gross!"
"Boy get!" I told him and messed up his hair. Mom came out of the kitchen and hugged me.
"Oh sweetie."
Mom's hug felt longer than Deanna's. The front door shut and we all turned as Dad entered the house.
"Ben..." Mom spoke out.
He stared at me and tears came to his eyes.
"You're home?"
I ran over to him, almost tripping over my own feet and my suitcase. I embraced him and placed my head on his chest. He interlocked his arms around me and kissed the top of my head.
"I missed you Daddy."
"I missed you to baby."
Dad didn't want to let go, but neither did I. Mom moved my suitcase out of the way and hugged us both. Mom called everyone and that night we decided to have a party in my honor. The only one she didnt call was Charlie. I drove to his campus, he had no idea that I was coming. When I knocked on the door to his dorm his roomate answered. He just smiled and called for Charlie.
"Charlie!" He shouted. "Someone's at the door for you!"
"For me?!" He shouted back.
I couldn't see him but just hearing his voice gave me butterflies. He brushed past his friend and stared at me.
"Hi Charlie..."
He was flabbergasted. He looked back at his friend like it was a joke or something.
"What are you doing here?" He mumbled softly and hugged me around the neck. I laughed slightly and just embraced him with tears in my eyes.
"I'm home Charlie..."
"For good?"
"For good."
He hid his face in my shoulder. I could hear him crying. I cried too.
"It's okay." I whispered.
He didn't want to let go of me either. He just held me and didn't say another word. I stoked his back. His touch, his scent I missed it all. I nuzzled in closer to his shoulder. His cries were muffled into the hug. When we pulled away, I smiled at him and wiped his tears away with my thumbs. He sniffled and tried to smile.
"Blubbering over your girly friend." His roommate teased.
"Man, shut up."
Charlie pushed the guy back into the room and shut the door. The other guy laughed. Charlie then pulled himself together, and I invited him back to my place for the party. He kissed me, and it felt like I'd never been kissed before. He waited 10 years to ask me out, he waited three years to make love to me and he waited an additional six months for me to come home. I could wait on him to finish college. My new dream was once he did, he and I were going to get married. Nothing was going to stop that.
