Takes place when Damon is trying to get Katherine out of the tomb. I own nothing that belongs to the Vampire Diaries.

Serena

I woke up in a cemetery. I was in a building and I didn't recognize it. I stepped out and flinched at the light. I turned to look at the crypt I was in and I realized it was the Salvatore Crypt from the show the Vampire Diaries.

"No! No, no, no, no! Dammit!" I yelled and started walking towards the entrance of the cemetery.

I looked around and found a not so clear pathway. I followed it. I followed it until I found a road. I walked for about an hour when I saw a house through the trees. When I saw the house completely fear assaulted me. It was the Salvatore house. Damon's car was out front. I took a deep breath and walked up to the door. I knocked, and I waited. I opened the door and looked around. I closed the door.

"Hello, is anyone home?" I asked and I heard a whoosh.

Damon Salvatore was standing in front of me.

"Who are you?" He asked and his pupils dilated.

"I'm Serana." I said and bit my tongue.

"Why are you here?" He asked and his eyes did it again.

"I'm here to talk to you." I said.

"About what?" He asked.

"Katherine. I have information." I said.

"How do you know Katherine?" He asked.

"Quit compelling me and I'll tell you." I said and he gave me a smirk and then had me by the throat.

"Tell me." He growled.

"She's not in the tomb. She has been in Chicago this whole time Damon." I choked out and he let me go.

"You better not be screwing with me." He said.

"I'm not gonna screw or lie to you Damon. You can kill me and frankly I'm not going to do what Stefen and Elena will do to you. I am here to solely help you find Katherine. I know you don't know me but I think it's best we go." I said.

He looked at me and glared.

"Look, do you want to find her or not? I know you do, and I am going with you because I know a lot that you don't. I'm going to be there to catch the broken pieces that will be left after we find her. Now let me borrow some of your clothes." I said and ran upstairs.

I sighed when I was in some clean clothes and went back downstairs. Damon was pacing and jingling his keys.

"You ready?" He asked.

I sighed.

"Yeah but food first." I said and went into their kitchen and made something.

"You know what I think you're screwing with me. I don't know you and why should I believe you?" He asked.

I looked up from the sandwich I was making. I walked up to him and grabbed his chin and made him look me in the eye.

"Why? Why should you believe me, because Damon, I won't lie to you, I won't cover up the fact I know she isn't there. I will always be honest with you." I said and let him go.

I was walking back over to the counter when a loud knock sounded through the door. I turned and then I heard grunting. I ran out to find Damon with a stake in his chest. There was a hunter. I cursed and grabbed something heavy. I ran at the hunter and gasped. I heard a sickening thud and I fell to my knees. I made my way to Damon and pulled out the stake. He looked up at me and saw the stake sticking out of my chest. He grabbed me and we were upstairs. He bit his wrist and shoved it against my mouth. I drank and he ripped the stake out. It hurt like a fucking mother fucker as I healed.

"Just go, find the smallest town in Chicago. Leave me with the hunter. He'll torture me and then most likely kill me when he is done. Go Damon. Find Katherine." I said pushing him towards the window.

He turned and gripped my arm.

"Did you bring him here?" Damon asked, squeezing my arm super tight.

"No! He fucking staked me, besides, I don't fucking know him! I've never seen him before!" I yelled and flinched as the sickening thud of another stake entered my body.

I tumbled forward towards Damon gritting my teeth. He grabbed me and we were in his car. I was bent forward trying to breathe as he pulled out of the driveway. He drove for a while and I was pissed he hadn't pulled it out.

"Damon, stake. Please pull it out." I growled between my teeth.

I didn't look at him, I focused on breathing and not dying. Then he pulled it out. He rolled his window down and tossed it.

"You stay like that, I don't want blood on my seat." He said and I stripped my shirt off and folded it and wiped the blood off me.

I bit my lip as I maneuvered my seat belt on. I made sure to keep my back from touching the seat.

"What are you doing?" Damon asked.

"Keeping the blood off your seat, you've killed for less." I said and looked at him.

He was staring at my black lacy bra.

"Eyes on the road Damon." I said and looked away before he saw my blush.

I have no doubt he heard my heart hammering in my chest though. The rest of the ride was uncomfortable. My back started hurting shortly after I buckled up and I was agitated. Once nightfall hit I started getting tired. I had also started to get cold so I turned the heater on. I readjusted in the seat and leaned against Damon and a part of me nagged at me that he would kill me but I didn't care. I passed out.
