Disclaimer= None of these characters are mine; they belong to a genius of a manga-ka by the name of Masashi Kishimoto.

A/N= This a birthday request for Ley. She wanted an Itachi/Kisame with Kisame the seme, but, as I can't seem to write PWP seriously... *grins* you get this. Enjoy!

Nightmare?

Two figures walked through the sandy wastes that made the southern part of the Land of Winds towards their destination. Kisame had spend the morning lost in thought and for someone who spoke almost as much as Deidara on a good day, Itachi found the silence worrisome now that sun's position indicated that it was midday.

There had been reports of one of the tailed beasts spotted in the area, something that should not be possible since the extraction of Shakaku from its host and with recent discovery of the three-tail without a host, could not let any rumor go uninvestigated. Akatsuki was very close to fulfilling their goals: there were only the eight and nine-tails left. Unfortunately, Kohona kept the nine-tails under tight guard and they had yet to discover the location of the eight-tails.

They would have to try other lands before long- perhaps the Lightning Country next.

He could see the ridges of a rock formation up ahead and with the unpredictability of the desert winds, decided that this was of a good a place as any to rest. Food might also be what Kisame needed to pull out of whatever bothering him.

Kisame took the suggestion without a protest and upon arrival at the trio of stone pillars retreated as far back into the shadows and away from him as possible. Both actions were equally worrisome, as the Kisame he knew would rather vocally protest the stop in favor of leaving the desert heat as quickly as possible. His presence also never bothered Kisame before, and as that could jeopardize the mission, he could not let that go.

"Mind telling me what is going on?" He asked.

His only response was a snort, but one long red glare at his partner had Kisame speaking, "I had a nightmare before we left Headquarters."

As that earned him another long stare, Kisame gave him a toothy grin, "You really sure you want to hear about it?"

As the stare did not waver, Kisame decided not to either, "It was you and me in a place just like this. Actually, it looked a lot like this. We got stranded here for some stupid reason during the night, and I got bored."

"We fought?" Itachi asked, wondering where he was going with that.

Kisame outright laughed at that, "I suppose we did; that is if you consider being pounded into one of the pillars with my tongue down your throat fighting. You mewed for me so prettily too."

"You consider a wet dream a nightmare?" Itachi asked, ignoring the innuendo. It was not the first aimed his way, and would not be last.

"That wasn't the nightmare," Kisame said woefully. "That came when that idiot Tobi woke me up before I could get off. The coward fled before I could show him just how appreciative I was being awake. The fool thought I really was having a nightmare."

"So what stopped you?" Itachi inquired.

"You offering?" Kisame quickly responded back, shark grin in full force.

They did not break camp until the next day.
