There were many questions asked by Star Trek fans with regard to J.J. Abrams' 2009 re-envisioning of Star Trek. People have tried to wrap their heads around the inconsistencies, and having done the same, I've come up with the only explanation that makes any sense. So here it is, in the form of a short story.

Four things that Leonard "Bones" McCoy "Isn't," and one thing he will be until the end of time.

Everyone knows about how loyal the bridge crew are to Captain Kirk. But they aren't the only ones on the Enterprise who are.

The first time, Spock looks up from cleaning himself with the tissue McCoy just handed him. "This was a shitty idea," McCoy says, not quite meeting his eyes. OR (Just the first) sixty-eight times.

Jim's eyes looked glassy when he turned back to him, his wheezing getting louder. "In-hal-ler." It was all he could get out on the uptake of breath. Jim searched through his pockets wildly not finding his medicine. Leonard looked over to the open window, at the flowers that had been planted a few weeks ago. Shit. The pollen.

A collection of Scotty whump stories. Character death. Scotty angst.

AOS: Something like Jim and Spock realize they are head over heels for Leonard when they see him with Joanna. This can be separate events or at the same time. Basically just Leonard being super cute with his daughter and Jim and Spock really digging it would be awesome!

I'm new at this but...Jim wakes up to find that his crew is missing. What will he sacrifice to find them and get them back?

When Leonard McCoys daughter gets murdered, he gets sent to Rehabilitation. There he meets James Kirk, a boy who got caught in a plane crash, and an odd man called spock who has lost all memories. Slowly, the three all help save each other from the bottomless pit of depression. Rating for bad language, adult themes, suicide, eating disorders and depression. MODERN DAY AU.
