Starfleet Academy students were some of the most perceptive young adults in all of the universe. It was no big shock that the entire school knew about Jim Kirk and Leonard McCoy being in love with each other before they did.

When George Kirk died, leaving his son behind, he prayed. He asked for someone to keep Jim safe, for someone to love him like a father and to raise him to be the best man he could be. Frank may not be the father of the year, but he's always been there for Jim no matter what.

The crew of the USS Enterprise has been brought back to Earth to await the possible recovery of their captain. However, Spock is not taking being alone entirely well. Considering the likelihood of Jim even waking up is unknown Spock finds himself not being able to concentrate on anything but Jim's death. This will take it's toll on our Half-Vulcan in more ways than one.
