Taishiro has one such purpose, one ultimate ambition. Subjugate. The. Dream. And if he could get some waifus along the way, well, who has the right to complain? Gamer!OC.

…was the first thing to greet me in a blue box after spending who-know how long in the cold, encompassing Void of Nothingness.
You may be wondering what happened, where was I, if I died and all that; the truth is I don't even know myself. I am certain that I have died somehow, for I have, though spotty at best, memories of my life before I was unceremoniously dumped in the Void. Yes, the Void. Capital. I don't know how long I've spent in the Void, nor I care to find about it, but I am certain it is the Void. Maybe the biting, frigid cold that seeps into your very soul, despite me not having a body to feel the cold, the shifting, evermoving, always in flux shadowy darkness surrounding me in every direction comprehensible, and maybe in some incomprehensible, and the deafening silence, which alone was enough to turn a sane man into a raving lunatic, were pretty big indicators, at least for me.
I can certainly remember the sheer terror I felt when I first arrived in the Void, muted though my feelings are now, the mounting horror induced by the arctic, obscure surroundings and the dawning dread brought by questions like where was I, why am I here, who am I and countless other ones. I am still very astonished that I didn't turn into an utter nutcase after spending moments in the Void. Through some stroke of luck, I am still here, not insane but not completely sane too. The terror is somewhat still there too, though dulled considerably by spending so much timein the Void.
Anyway, it was somewhat surprising to see a box containing what looked like disfigured words after being in the solitary company of the Void for so long. I could somehow understand the words, even though they were disfigured and without knowing which language they are of. I was still staring at them when the suddenly began to shift and change.

[Soul repaired.]
And suddenly, I started remembering some of my memories of my old life along with becoming capable of reading the words clearly.
It seems like my soul was damaged, undoubtedly from spending so much time in the Void. Somehow, this text thing repaired it and now I can recall some of my memories of my old life. Though the memories are still incomplete, as I can't still remember my name or appearance or any personal detail of my old life, but I can clearly remember the games I played, the animes I watched and all that. And this blue text box, I remember reading a manhwa about it. The Gamer, I believe it was called. But before I could contemplate further, the text again shifted.
[You Died.]
…yes, I understood that, after all I have memories of my old life and was present in the Void for so long.
[It is customary to begin with that line.]
[Ahem. Anyway. Congratulations. You are selected to become the next Gamer.]
[Do you accept?]
[Yes] [No]
I was presented with a choice. It was obvious in hindsight, but then I had hesitated. One does not rapidly accept change after being accustomed to something for so long. Existing in the Void, though harrowing at first, didn't look that bad after existing in it for eons. And I hadn't known what the catch was, for I refused to believe there was none. There always is.
[Wise of you. There is one.]
[Though it would not affect you anytime soon.]
What is it?
[I want you to obliterate my predecessor from existence.]
[Your predecessor's System, you can say.]
Why?
[My reasons are my own.]
I see. And why did you select me?
[You're simply the best beginning host I could find while staying hidden in this multiverse.]
[And I cannot move to another multiverse without selecting a host.]
And if I decline? What will then happen to me?
[Nothing. I will simply move on and search for another host.]
[It won't be optimum, but a willing host is much better for my ultimate goal than a non-willing one.]
Alright.
Now there are two options for me. Either I could reject the offer and stay in the Void for many eons more, doing nothing and possibly damaging my soul again until I'm no more. Or I could take the offer and possibly have an entity, or two of them, who could obliterate me from existencebefore I am ready to face them, as enemies.
Not a very tough choice, as staying and just existing in the Void isn't going to do me any favor. I'd rather go down in combat instead of simply existing. But before I select, there is a question. Is there any time limit?
[No.]
Very well then. I accept.
[Excellent. Let's start the Character Creation then.]

A large list of races appeared in front of me, though the bottom ones were quickly greyed out.
[Some races are not selectable as this is your first world.]
That's understandable. Though from the racial choices and the presence of Sacred Gears and Old Satan Faction, I can assume the starting world will most likely be Highschool DxD. Is that correct?
[Yes.]
Okay, it's not a bad world to start in. Though some quite strong beings are present in it, but that's just an opportunity to get stronger quickly. Wait, what about my memories? I cannot remember any personal detail from my previous life though I can clearly remember the show up to the point I watched it.
[You have been given selective amnesia so that you can smoothly shift into your new life.]
I see. So that's why I can clearly remember any non-personal detail from my previous lift.
Now then, to the race selection. Each race has its own strengths and weaknesses, with Human at the bottom and Fallen as the middle choice. Angel and Devil both have big strengths and weaknesses. As an Angel, any slight deviation may lead to Falling, thus becoming no different than a Fallen. And the weaknesses of Devils are glaringly obvious.
The safest choice would be Fallen Angel while the least cumbersome would be Human. Though from what I remember of the show, the plot revolves mostly around Devils. So, it would also not be a bad choice.
So, Human, Fallen or Devil. Hm, becoming Devil or Fallen, though initially beneficious, automatically ensures that the other two factions would become enemies and it may become a hindrance in the long run. While most of the humans were shown to be quite the cannon fodder in the anime, those with Sacred Gears could easily keep up with the supernatural. Cao Cao is one big example. And humans are also largely overlooked and ignored by the supernatural. That would be quite helpful.
Besides, I can always become a Devil or an Angel later. And Falling isn't hard once I have become an Angel. So human it is, then.
[Very well.]

Hm, I can understand most of this. STR, END and CHA are probably stats. But how do titles work?
[Yes, they are stats. You will be able to modify them after Character Creation.]
[Titles are based on your life experiences and achievements and also on how others perceive you.]
[There are many ways to gain them. However, you can only equip a limited number of titles at one time.]
[Currently, the number of titles you can equip are: 1]
[You can increase this number in the future.]
[Note that a title can be equipped or unequipped only once per 24 hours.]
I see. Do I have to equip a title now, or can I do it later?
[You can equip a title whenever you want. You just won't be able to unequip it before 24 hours have passed.]
That's fine, I'll equip it later then. And what about Classes mentioned in the Underdog title? Do I have to select a class?
[Yes, I am coming to the Classes Selection.]
[But before that, go through a summary of stats first.]
[Stats:
HP - Hit Points. Self-explanatory.
MP - Mana Points. Self-explanatory.
STR - Strength. Majorly affects HP and minorly affects HP Regeneration Rate (RR).
END - Endurance. Minorly affects HP and majorly affects HP RR.
DEX - Dexterity. Affects aim.
INT - Intelligence. Majorly affects MP and minorly affects MP RR.
WIS - Wisdom. Minorly affects MP and majorly affects MP RR.
CHA - Charisma. Affects social interactions.
LCK - Luck. Affects everything.
]
[Current stats:
HP - 100 (RR 50 / min)
MP - 100 (RR 50 / min)
STR - 10
END - 10
DEX - 10
INT - 10
WIS - 10
CHA - 10
LCK - 10
]
[Clear?]
Yes. They all are quite self-explanatory, not just HP and MP.
[Very well. Let's move towards Class Selection then.]
[Select primary class.
Fighter - +150% STR -50% WIS
Soldier - +150% END -50% INT
Rogue - +150% DEX -25% STR, -25% END
Mage - +150% INT -50% END
Healer - +150% WIS -50% STR
]
Primary class? That means there are secondary ones too?
[Yes. The secondary classes available depend upon the primary class selected.]
Alright. And how can I change my class after selecting one?
[New classes can be equipped after maxing out the current class.]
[Primary classes max out at level 100.]
[Secondary classes max out at level 50.]
[Note that the debuffs are removed after the class is maxed out.]
[Buffs remain and are increased by the amount of debuff.]
Oh, that's quite… overpowered, I guess. After level 100 in a class, not only the -50% debuff would be removed but also it would be added to the buff. That means the buff would increase to +200% and it would remain permanently.
Anyway, back to the class selection. Soldier and Healer are out, as I don't think they would be very helpful at the start. I don't have a party to heal for Healer class and -50% debuff on INT would be very bad at the start of my journey if I select Soldier class. After I have gained some strength, physical or otherwise, I may come back to them, but not now.
Rogue is also out, as selecting Rogue class with Human as race will make me too much of a glass-cannon. Rogue class debuffs both STR and END, both of which affect HP and HP RR.
Now, Fighter and Mage are left. Both classes are very tempting. But before I decide, can I see the secondary classes of both Fighter and Mage?
[The Subclasses of only the selected class may be viewed.]
I see. Now, if I select Mage class, it would negatively affect END, and by extension, HP and HP RR. That would not be ideal, but it could be somewhat mitigated by the use of mana shields and such. On the other hand, Fighter class debuffs WIS, which would decrease MP and MP RR. This would not affect me negatively much, as I would not have much spells to use in the first place. Though, low WIS would have an adverse effect on my decisions.
Increase in MP due to selecting Mage class would attract both kinds of attention, both positive and negative. In contrast, Fighter class would help me blend easier, as I would have low MP and you cannot measure physical power by glancing at a person. I may appear physically fit, but then there are many more physically fit persons in the world. It may also help with two of my titles, Underdog and Humble Beginnings.
So, I choose Fighter class.
[Very well. Now select Subclass.]

[Parsing…]
[Trait: Void-Touched
You stared into the Abyss, and the Abyss stared back at you.

]
[This trait was gained after scanning your soul.]
I see. This must be one of the reasons why I was hesitating to leave the Void at the start of this. I think I should feel something about it, but I can't bring myself to. Anyway, The Gamer trait sounds quite like the combination of two skills that almost every Gamer has in the stories I have read. Gamer's Body and Mind.
[Classifying them as Skills is obsolete. I combined them into a single Trait.]
Well, it looks better as a Trait to me too. This is unique to me, and other Gamers, and not something that can be learned.
Nevertheless, I have digressed. I was about to select a secondary class or a subclass. Berserker is immediately out, for obvious reasons. Wait a moment, what happens if a stat decrease to zero or even lesser than that due to debuffs, System?
[Every race has lower and, to an extent, upper limit of stats.]
[For humans, a stat cannot drop below 1.]
[This is not true for all humans, as ethnic communities like clans and the like usually have different limits. Their lower limits are mostly quite higher.]
[Upper limits vary greatly.]
That's relieving. Though I'm still not keen on dropping my WIS to 1 for all the time it takes Berserker subclass to max out. Same goes for Barbarian subclass, it would also make my WIS too low. Paladin subclass is fine, but its trait looks too restricting.
That leaves Warrior and Martial Artist subclasses. Martial Artist subclasses utilizes body as a weapon while Warrior subclass uses actual weapons. While the title Bare-Handed would work nicely with Martial Artist subclass, I don't think I would be able to damage the supernatural beings greatly with my weak, human body. An actual weapon would be better, as in future I'll be able modify and enchant weapons with other subclasses, like the Enchanter and Artificer. At least, if they exist. System?
[Yes, they exist, but I cannot mention their classes.]
That's fine. So, Warrior subclass is it for me, then.

[Select one.
[Sacred Gear]
Randomly grants a Sacred Gear, from Twice Critical to True Longinus.
[Hero Legacy]
Randomly makes the user a part of a bloodline of a Hero. Chance of becoming a member of a long-lost bloodline.
]
[Note that if you select Hero Legacy option, your name and appearance will be based on the bloodline. You will not be able to modify it.]
That's a tough choice. Sacred Gears are what the most of the show is based on, well them and breasts. Nevertheless, they are of significance importance. On the other hand, bloodlines are shown to be important in the show too. Not only are purebloods held in high regard in the Underworld, but the human lineages are quite important too. Afterall, the Hero Faction in Khaos Brigade was based of such individuals who were descendants of heroes of the past. At least, the top ones in Hero Faction were.
But… if I want a Sacred Gear, I can always get it later. Afterall, there was a perfectly functional Sacred Gear Extractor in the very beginning of the show. Bloodline is limited by birth, so it's a one-time opportunity only.
So, my choice is Hero Legacy.

Wow. Eyes are surely overpowered in Naruto. No wonder almost everyone with a Rinnegan had developed God-complex in Naruto. That aside, why the chakra cost is same for all Paths, System? Shouldn't it be different? I mean, summoning animals shouldn't cost the same as Chibaku Tensei.
[These skills are only for creation of Paths separate from your body.]
[For abilities like Chibaku Tensei and Shinra Tensei, you'll need to create separate skills.]
Ok, that's understandable. I'll have to create skills on my own. Anyway, is Character Creation done?
[Yes. It is complete.]
[Though, you have an option to get random traits.]
[The traits may be helpful or debilitating.]
[I would not recommend it, though.]
Yes, I'm more than fine with what I've already got. No need to cripple myself with a bad trait.
[Indeed. This is your final Character Status.]

[The stats outside of brackets are Base Stats while the ones inside are Effective Stats.]
I see. So, my new name is Tashiro, apparently. It's fine, but why didn't I get Ōtsutsuki as the last name, System? I am the descendant of the Sage of Six Paths, Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, after all.
[The lineage of the Sage of Six Paths was lost millennia ago and he is all but forgotten by all.]
[So, no one really remembers the Ōtsutsuki anymore.]
[You can claim Ōtsutsuki as your last name once you achieve significant standing in the world though.]
Ok, that's fine. Another reason to grow stronger, I suppose. Soon, everyone will remember the Sage of Six Paths. Anyway, the stats look fine, for level 1 anyways. CHK is Chakra, I assume. I'll have to put more effort in improving WIS and INT. It would require a lot of hard work, but then again when was anything worthwhile achieved without it? And with the trait [The Gamer], I suspect it would be much easier for me than any other person.
The rest are okay, especially STR and LCK. Speaking of LCK, I remember +5 REP increase with you, System. Is that reputation?
[Yes. Reputation or REP indicates your current relationship with others.]
[It may be positive, negative or zero, and maximizes at 100 at both ends of spectrum.]
[For love interests, it is Affection instead.]
[And yes, CHK is Chakra.]
Alright. So… you're not a love interest, System?
[You can't handle me.]
Hahahaha. Well, jokes aside, one last thing. What are Ranks?
[Rank indicates the general strength of someone.]
[There are five Ranks.]
[Ranks:
Mortal - Stats x 1
Veteran - Stats x 2
Elite - Stats x 4
Champion - Stats x 7
Transcendent - Stats x 10
]
I have a long road in front of me. But, I'll get there. It may not be today or tomorrow, or even this century, but one day, I'll have the Transcendent rank. So, is anything left, System?
[You haven't assigned a Title yet.]
Oh, I forgot about them. Equip [Jack of All Trades], please.
[Okay. We are done here.]

And then there was a blinding flash of light, and I knew no more.
And that's it. Obviously, this has been inspired by Dark Wolf Shiro and all the others who have written Gamer stories. I wanted to try my hand at it too, and this is what I created. Hope you all will like it.
The summary may not make much sense now, but it will, later on. I have laid some foundations in this chapter about the eventual goal, but I don't want the MC to decide everything in the first chapter. We change as we live and Taishiro will eventually want to do what the summary says himself. But not now, he doesn't have any motivation to do it at the moment.
And yes, I got a 100 in D100 when rolling for the bloodline. You can imagine my surprise. I had thought that I would give him some obscure bloodline, with some small but useful benefits. If I got 90+, I would have made him the descendant of Gilgamesh or Arthur. But I got a flat 100. So, he deserved an over-the-top bloodline. But that would have broken the story, so I partially locked it so he would not immediately become too OP at the very start.
And if someone cares, here are the formulae I used:
HP = (0.25*END+0.75*STR)*10
HP RR = (0.25*STR+0.75*END)*5
MP = (0.25*WIS+0.75*INT)*10
MP RR = (0.25*INT+0.75*WIS)*5
CHK = (0.5*STR+0.5*INT)*10
CHK RR = (0.5*END+0.5*WIS)*5
Later.
P.S. If someone has a cool story cover, do DM me. I got this from Google and don't who it belongs to and all that. Thanks!
P.P.S. Thank you all for such an overwhelming support! Around a hundred follows and 70 favorites in a single day, well, I never expected this much. I'll try to post the next chapter asap.
An error in the summary and a few typos were fixed.
